A great time was had by all.
Great to get to see everyone in the flesh. The humidity was high with the high temperatures made it harder to sit outside to visit but the campfires in the evening made up for it.
My pups were so excited to see me. They didn't calm down for 10 minutes. Getting home late and try to wind down I finally got to sleep around 2 am. Up at 6:30 am. And on the go. Cousin Nancy today. Bed early tonight. Over and out.

Parting is such sweet sorrow as the saying goes. PJ stated it so well. We have an awesome group with a super wonderful leader. Thanks to you Sharon for getting the ball rolling. And Tammy, we love coming to TL. We are treated so well and so much to do. Thank you all for the lovely gits so lovingly made and shared. TC and Mike, so glad you got the group reservations and was really fun to have the group recognized. What a fun night.

As we parted this morning, we shared our hugs and wishes for safe travels to all. Until we meet again. Guess that will be on the chat thread! Sweet dreams to all still moving along.

It has been such a wonderful week. But most of us are departing this morning We went our separate ways to do our own things but also had get togethers around campfires, a pot luck, the group went to the Dixie Stampede and lots of time visiting in smaller groups and one on one also. It seems that we all get to know each other better and better at each rally.

I want to thank Tammy for getting us the great deal at Treasure Lake, TCs Mike for making the group reservation at Dixie Stampede so we qualified for that discount and last but not least Sharon for her great leadership and hard work at making this the great team it is.

Safe travels everyone.

Devil mike rubbed off on us and PJ & I made a stone heart on Arlenes walk yesterday...lol . The pot luck was fantastic and many of us overate. Great food. We have enjoyed shopping, shows, eating out, mike and kid zip lined, and lots of walking. I bought some bird seed and will feed the ducks in the pond later. We will feed them on ground though so pond does not get mucked up. It is a fun vacation but i may need a vacation from vacation once home . Misz Jacque had car troubles and could not make it so is being missed also. Judy sek is to arrive late tonight.

Back from our nightly fire that Mike loves to "set". It's only been in the 90's and we are having a great time enjoying those fires!! We did a little craft market shopping and also the As Seen on TV and I came home with a beautiful puzzle to eventually put together. It's a winter scene and has the Cardinals on. My favorite bird of color.

Here in the park, a gal as a beautiful parrot or McCaw that sits on her shoulder as she walks the park. It's extremely colorful with the blue, red and greens. So pretty.

Had our potluck this evening and it tasted delic. Sure do have some great cooks in the group. Darrel played his accordian which we totally enjoyed. Fun night.

Tomorrow we are planning to go to one show but haven't decided when one to enjoy. Lots of good ones!!

OMG, these hills and humidity are doing a number on me. Told Mike and PJ, weight better be down this week with all the sweating i am doing... Lol ! Mike is being a devil and decorating arlene and darrels van. Sounds like a showboat show for tomorrow for some of us and potluck today. I am bringing BBQ meatballs. No pics yet except on messenger of fire and arlene's van.

Arrived yesterday safely but tired and did NOT like the county roads even if it did save some time. Posted that story to challenge thread. It was so sweet to see Tammy at the office. She really goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy. I really loved all my welcome hugs and Thank you Norm, Brenda and the girls for helping me back in. I do just ok but sometimes a few tries since i am 5 ft longer than i used to be and still getting used to where my tires should be to back in and..... Items are nearer than mirror shows... Lol ! It was great to finally meet Ruthann. Oh my, she and Sharon look so good with their weight loss !!

Mike's alarms going off at 5 am so walked squeek 7700 plus steps in the dark. She was happy starting out but with the humidity, we were both happy to be done. My left ankle still bothers me so it took me 90 minutes with that, hills, and humidity. We plan an to rent a car today so we can run for more groceries, sight see, etc.

Chris, we went form a 33 to a 30 and like the tow ability of it. Just need to get some warranty work done and will be looking at that as we travel south.

We stopped in Clinton, MO which is about 2 hrs north of Branson. We have been traveling Hwy 13 and many places on the road great while others are not good. But we cut down the miles. Roger is tired and so am I. had a very light lunch of 1 open face turkey sandwich and a dinner of a piece of bread with a hot dog. Just drinking! At least we had a good breakfast before leaving.

Got a notice today on a bill that we "didn't pay" but I have the proof I did. So now it's hassling with that. Seems to never end! Too tired to deal tonight.

Chris - nice of you to catch us up to date. I don't blame you for wanting a shorter RV. Ours is 38ft and Norm has said he would never go bigger. You have to be comfortable driving your RV. I am glad you found a good used RV. I know they are out there.

We arrived here in Branson around 4pm. Tammy and DH are the members at Treasure Lake and they met us at the office to get us all checked in. Not too much visiting tonight we are tired from traveling all day. More start arriving tomorrow so let the fun begin!

Hope everyone has a great time! We were without our RV all summer, it was sitting on PPL lot in Cleburne for sale. We consigndf in June for 90 days. The 90th day would have been September 3, they sold it the last Friday in August! So really altered our plans! Not complaining because loan will be paid off, and hubby wanted a shorter unit! 42 feet was too long to haul comfortably. As soon as we knew it sold I looked online for a couple of weeks for a Hitchhiker in good condition and within budget, the only one I found was over 1500 miles away near Buffalo NY!
So couldnt go there and risk not likkng it for some reason, so started looking at Jayco Designer, used. The first one i saw was a featured ad by a private owner! He said it had been kept under cover in storage so I called and found out roof had never leaked and he could givd me a history. He was in Arkansas just north of Little Rock so hubby and I sent a deposit and drove up there Thursdsy, two days ago. It was kndeed in really good condition so we bought it, spent night in a Little Rock park and drove home yesterday. It was over 1000 miles round trip but we got a very good, used RV.
Busy cleaning it all day today as it had set in storage 3 years! Not terribly dirty but i vacuumed snd scrubbed up spots on carpet and Swiffer mopped vinyl floor after sweeping. Then scrubbed bathroom anc started stocking it with supplies. Its nog really ready to go, I think it needs new tires. We will be taking it to our tire guy soon. This one is 35 feet lonv snd hubby loves hauling it! This will probably be our last RV, cant wait to travel in it!

Again, everyone have fun and hopefully we'll meet everyone one of these days! Chris

OK, we made it to the Wal-Mart in Effingham, IL for the night. The Wal-Mart was full, full, full. So we went across a side street to a Kohl's store. Norm went in and talked to the mgr and he said it was fine to park overnight. We walked across the parking lot to a Chili's for dinner. Didn't want to overeat so we ordered an appetizer to share.

Tammy I will let you know tomorrow our ETA.

SS, I think I may have already told you, but yes, we will be there on Saturday. Joe called this morning to have the fifth wheel pulled out tomorrow morning. There have been several times the past couple of weeks that I thought this would happen without us, but it looks like we will be good. I had already shared that I would need to go back and forth Monday thru Thursday because of my morning classes, but that's what I get for not being retired yet. I would have paid a substitute if I would have been able to get one, but I probably need to save those times for when there is a health issue with someone in my life. We also have some medical appointments while we are in our home area, but that is just our life right now. It's not that far. Cocoa is being boarded for a couple of nights already and that will make things somewhat easier and I will see how she behaves to decide what else to do. In a perfect world, we would have been camping with her a bunch already.

I emailed the "final" list to the office yesterday and of course can update if I need to do so.

It's going to be nice to visit with all of you as we can. The Messenger thread was cracking me up yesterday, and that was a good thing. LOL

Tammy - we intend to arrive probably late afternoon. I can call on Saturday with a better arrival time. Will you be there at TL? I sure hope Joe is up to the week. We all want to see him!

OK, here's the latest on Terri Jo and Paul. They will NOT be coming. Terri is very disappointed but Paul has had a health issue pop up and he has to go for tests on 9/13. At this point, they are just praying it doesn't delay them for leaving on their winter travels. I am disappointed as well but understand at our age, you have to put health issues first.

This is our final list as I know it. If anyone has a correction, please let me or Tammy know.

1. TC, Mike, Marissa - for Monday on
2. Joyce will be traveling in her own RV arriving on Monday
3. Sharon & Norm, Ruthann
4. Ruthann will fly in on Sunday and stay with us in our MH
5.. PJ & Frank (Sept 11th-15th)
6.. Eileen & Roger
7.. Brenda & Mike
8. Arlene & Darrell (Sept 10-15th in a cabin)
9. Tammy & Joe
10 Jacque B will come on her day off to visit ??
11. SEK, Mike & possibly Joshua. (Fri after work until Sun)

Fingers crossed - we saw Joe's PCP this afternoon ... with maybe some help to get his stuff under control...he is actually wanting to eat other than soup, and that is a step in the right direction with Joe.

Glad Norm is okay emoticon

What are Terri Jo and Paul's last name? I believe I have everyone else - I am going to send a "final list" to the person in charge of such at TL.

SS, when do you think you will be there on Saturday? Just a general time frame...I am kind of surprised you are doing it in two days.

Prayers, Sharon and Norm.

I would ask for continued prayers for Joe. Now we are dealing with diarrhea. I am a bit concerned about c-diff, after all the antibiotics that he was having while in the ER and also the hospital stays. I am pushing the fluids and got a probiotic and he sees the PCP tomorrow. If anyone has any other suggestions, I am open to them.

We have a little problem going on here. I had to take Norm to ER yesterday and he has been admitted. I wrote about it on our Challenge thread . If all goes well, he will be released today. Prayers are welcome as we need to go to this rally. Right now we think we can depending on what all the tests show.

I reserved the room that we had last time for Wednesday evening - I think it is from 5:30 to 8:30 but will have to look at my records. I just assumed it would be for a potluck as that is what we had last time.

The stents were removed yesterday and we got to return home a few hours later with an oxycodone prescription. There are still fine portions of the stones that will pass and so he has a script for something that will make that easier. When I left this morning, he was reporting his pain level as a 2 and that was an hour after taking the oxy. I will be back home in about two hours so will know more then. He did have a fairly restful night.

Thank you for the prayers.

Waiting on news from Tammy how Joe is doing today. We are all praying for him.

Ruthann - I'm not sure how to pack food for us. Do you eat some at every meal? What type of breakfast and lunch foods do you eat? We always have bottled water. There is a WalMart not too far from the park so we can always make a run if we need anything.

My mind is already figuring out what I need to pack. The time is getting close!

Tammy - our hope and prayers are for poor Joe. I hope he feels well enough to attend the rally. I am sure the General Mgr will take our group if they are planning on us. That would be a lot of revenue to turn away as I'm sure a lot of sites are empty this time of year. I just hope they can put us all in a general area. Try to relax and be with Joe during this difficult time for him.

I would ask for prayers for Joe and his medical team this morning. He had lithotripsy done last Wednesday afternoon and was released Thursday before noon. He was doing well. From then until yesterday, he was in the ER twice with pain even with hydrocodone meds, additional meds got the pain under control until the next time it happened. He was treated for a UTI that showed up. He was given anti-nausea meds for when it happened when he was throwing up. We thought we were done with it all, and fortunately it happened while in his PCP's office early yesterday afternoon and his PCP saw it happen. Fortunately for us, his PCP called whomever and got him admitted directly to the hospital. He was seen by an internal medicine person within an hour of being in his room and then his original urologist within an hour of that. The urologist is fairly certain he is having spasms around the tube that was inserted to aid in the draining of the crushed kidney stone on that side. SO...I am at work and will be back at the hospital about 10:30. Perhaps we will know how they will proceed from there by then.

It should not affect our rally. There are groups that come in occasionally anyway, and I believe the general manager will let the group in like that if necessary. If we're still dealing with problems in a couple of days, I will contact the general manager and let him know what is going on.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

So without scrolling all the way through the post does anyone know when the most people are going to be there together? I’ve had some major change in plans and want to definitely still come but will probably only spend maybe one night.
After some major soil searching I’m moving back to Biloxi and am going to make my trip come through to see all my friends. I haven’t been able to make the last few rally’s and don’t want to miss seeing some of my friends and meet some I’ve not met face to face before. With this change my budget has been really tightened. The reason for the shortened stay. I’m excited to get to see you all soon

I have a question, has anyone else tried to check out the calendar that Tammy sent? For some reason my computer has it showing the day/date wrong.

I'm also not sure if we would do SDC. It may be a bit more walking than I'm up to right now. I keep hoping that if I keep up my exercises I'll be more ready but I'm not holding my breath. I am really looking forward to seeing every one, old and new friends.

I haven't talked to Terrie Jo lately either but plan on it this coming week. I chuckled at Sharons comment on our Rally growing. We had our chapter meeting today for our Good Sam and Good Sam in North Dakota isn't in good shape. They need a new State Coordinator and no one so far is interested and ever our chapter is dwindling. No one wants to hold offices and I said "I've been there, done that" and I'm not going to get there again. And some of the other states have dropped their Good Sam affiliation.

Well I better get off here. I have to get a sympathy card made for a funeral we have to go to tomorrow. It's for Darrells cousins husband.

Later,
Arlene

Lots to see and do in Branson but it is all very pricey when on a fixed income. No one needs to feel obligated to do any more than what you are comfortable with. I am just excited to be spending time with all of you. Yes, we'll go shopping and out to eat plus other stuff but until we are there I can't say what it will be. Just know we all can do whatever we want. There will be our campfire most nights so plan around that. I do think this is our largest group to meet so it would be impossible to do everything together. But as Leader of this team, I can't tell you how happy I am to see this Annual Rally continue to grow!

Yes, there will still be several things to do on the park, and no cost to most of them. There is also a movie theater in the clubhouse where the dances and things are - a more extensive schedule will be available when you check in. They show movies a couple of times a day, I think. We also have a small cafe - the RocknRoll Cafe and it has really good food and there is lots to it most of the time, so it could be another meal or easily shared with someone. And of course, to my mind, nothing beats visiting with friends and taking walks on the park. I hope you noticed that there is water aerobics.

I will also still post a link to some area attractions that can be discounted through the park as we get closer to time. We haven't been down since late June and I want as current a list as I can get. And of course the Welcome Center has a display of brochures to stuff.

I don't believe that we will attend SDC as we are not into rides etc. but the park activities sound wonderful. I haven't looked to see what shows are on either.
A thought; the Branson belle Showboat has a good show each time we have gone and a great meal. It's $56.00 for both. Choices of noon, 4 PM or 8 PM. Just throwing it out for a thought.

I doubt that we will go to SDC as between shopping and the park if the group does anything (potluck etc) that will probably be enough for us too. Plus hopefully weather cooperates some walking

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Here's a link to Silver Dollar City's September calendar. I see that there is a concert in the ampitheater there - free with your admission - at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. I don't know if someone will be interested in that or not. You really can easily seen new things any days that you might choose to go. www.silverdollarcity.com/the

It's been years since I have been to SDC, but I didn't remember about the water rides closing. I probably wasn't riding them the last time that I was there, anyway. REGARDLESS, TC...the park will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open the other days. I'll try to go back and put a link to the park here.

Let's continue to use this thread until we get closer to the dates. Then I'll set up a group text if I have everyone's text number???

We'll get it done for sure.

A group text sounds good to me as well. It would be more fun to be together at times rather than just on our own. I agree, MI. was a lot of fun. There are many other activities besides the shows, which are good, and a fun group gathering time.

A group text sounds good. I’m not sure exactly which days I’ll be there. I’m thinking right in the middle though. Trying to catch as many there as possible

I like the idea of group texts or even a chat around the fire ? I know the first year we were in Branson we hung out with susy because we did not know many of you and you all knew each other so we had no idea what people wanted to do together. Mi was much better. We had a ball. Lots of sight seeing. I think I have talked Mike into leaving his truck at home so we may have to rent a car a few days. He is still smoking and needs his fix.

There aren't RV sites reservations per se, but when Joe and I go down on the Saturday or Sunday morning, we will take a look at where we should be able to accomodate the RVs mostly together. We were in phase 3 last time, and that was so nice with the campfire time. Phase 1 also has a campfire pit close by as well.

Depending on when each is arriving, it will be one of the two of us who will meet you down at the welcome center and help. I will be getting the office a final list and they will check against that, etc. [It's possible that I might be teaching in the morning, and so it would definitely be Joe then. It's not a hard drive for me, but I will be in and out Monday - Thursday mornings due to work commitments. It has been just Monday and Wednesday mornings for years, but there was a snafu and Tammy still has some bills to pay emoticon ]

We might need some kind of communication system thought out ahead of time to kind of keep track of activities, etc. A phone tree maybe? Group texts? I know folks will probably not do all the same activities, but I don't want anyone to feel left out, either. I will also be adding a link of possibilities as we get closer to time.

There are a couple of locations on park where one can access wifi for free, and then there is a paid service that folks could get for a fee. I see people have a lot of problems with it, but just wanted to put that out there. I know some folks have jetpacks, etc.

emoticon
