Sharon and Jude, great job on your loss for the month.
My scale is in hiding at the moment, so I didn't get a final weigh in for march. I'm afraid it didn't end up too good though. I'm ready for April and a new challenge.
I've joined a BL challenge on FB with a group, so hopefully between the challenges and getting back to work?????
Ruthann, I imagine that your weight will be down.

Total loss for March was 8# . We tied Sharon :) Will shoot for 10# in April. I wanted to weigh 160# by June 1st, but I don't know if I can make that.....just do the best I can.

Happy Easter everyone.

My last WI for March leaves me with my 8 lb loss for the month! I didn't make my goal of 10 lbs but at least I lost weight instead of gaining!

Ruthann - I can only assume your weight will be down more with your liquid diet. Perhaps you'll be in Onederland when you return to WA. I hope your mouth is feeling better.

I think everyone enjoyed our March challenge and some had really good losses. It brought our losing weight back in focus. I will start an April challenge in a new thread for anyone that wants to work again!

Happy Easter everyone:
Well I haven't a clue what I weigh this am. I have been on a liquid diet since Friday and it has NOT been fun.

Sharon: Anytime you need a kick you can depend on me. HA HA

Congratulations for all who maintained and lost though out this challenge.

You must admit that is why we are on this site in the first place.
It was 98 degrees yesterday and it was beautiful.
Today it is suppose to be in the mid to high 80's.
bring er on. We have only 3 days to go and back to moldy WA.

Great Challenge. and it was an easy one.....

What do you think?

I went back to check what I had weighed at the first of March, and what I basically did was maintain. I had the Sodium Fiasco while we were in Pensacola, but that is all gone now.

Don't count me out yet - I still have a few days left in March! My weight was down again this morning! I'm still hoping to reach my goal!

I think this challenge has several of us concentrating on losing again.

Thanks, Ruthann for kicking me in the butt!

So happy to report I lost 2# this week. Have upped my food intake daily and it seems to have helped. Also don't eat carbs without a little protein most of the time now.
Probably won't lose 10# in March, but plan to keep plugging along.

Congrats to all of you who have been here this month....as long as we keep trying we are doing well, no matter what the scale says.

Have a great day.

I am down a pound from what I was at the first of the month. Most of my month has been spent taking off the sodium weight from those four/five days of eating out one meal per day while we were in Pensacola and on the road to and fro. So I guess it could be worse...

OK this is it.
I lost a pound for the month of March. I will not be posting until April first. I hope you gals keep this going... There are a couple of us that this really helped.
It did keep me in a mode so that I did NOT gain.

Thanks everyone..
Cheers to all who stayed the same and especially the ones who lost a lot.

Where is everyone today? I went to the gym early this morning and then moved clothes. Had to spend about 2 hrs at the unemployment office taking care of paperwork so I can make sure I get my last check. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Busy day today. Got to the gym and then back home to do more moving and just getting ready. Robby is going to have to work tomorrow, so will only taking Thur off to help me. Not a problem the only thing I really need him for is the heavy stuff, lol. Y'all know I'm joking. My eating has just been so so. I haven't been on the scale, but my workouts for the last 2 days have been tough. I'm pushing myself harder than I was.

At least I've done some exercise this week (2 hours yesterday-cucling & walking, 1.5 hours walking today), eating has been more controlled. hoping I can keep this going once home.

Had a great Mexican lunch in Albuq. Old Town yesterday. Ate the left-overs for dinner. NOT going to weigh today! LOL I had to use all my daily WW points and some of my weekly ones too. Oh well, it was worth it.
Walmart and Costco after that, so hopefully I got some steps.

Keep it going Sharon. You'll make it yet.

Jude, it was cold here this morning too, but not that cold. we had upper 30s. I thought winter was gone here, but we have a couple more cold nights this week. Have fun at Costco

Ruthann, hang in there, it'll all work out.

I got to the gym and had a really good workout today. Came home and packed up some of the kitchen, the stuff I don't use everyday. Some of it went to storage and some of it went on over to the RV. I was up when I climbed on the scale, but it was after breakfast, so I can't say for sure. I had a horrible eating day yesterday. The cold made me snacky and I didn't do alot either, bad combination.

12 degrees here this morning!!! Beautiful sunshine tho. Don't think I will walk outside today so the resistence bands sound like a good idea. Going to Costco and old town Albuquerque later this afternoon when it warms up (46) so will get a little exercise in there.

Ruthann....I weigh every day and track what I eat just so it is uppermost in my head to be mindful of what passes thru my lips. Hate to see "bad" stuff on my list and it helps to identify where I'm going right and wrong.

Good luck this week everyone.

Tammy, the resistance bands are a good idea. I use them in the RV - you might want to check out Coach Nicole's online exercise videos. She has at least a couple of fairly short resistance band workouts that can be done in a confined space.

I'm down about 3 lbs this month - was hoping for 5 - but won't complain. emoticon

I couldn't report in on the 21st as we were on the road out in no mans land. I lost a pound this week, but was hoping for more. Still tracking and drinking lots of water.

Sounds like we are still all hanging in there.....one day at a time, as they say.

Keep up the good work everyone and have a good week-end.

I saw a new lower number on the scale this morning, but it is still above what it was before Sodium Terrorism took over at Pensacola.

I was encouraged by another team to investigate other methods of working out, so I decided to look just a bit into resistance bands. A member of a third team is always talking about them. I just used them for one set of arm exercises and you know, I think I could easily like them. I have some without handles that I have had since PT for my back - yes, they were in a drawer and they did me a lot of good in there, didn't they? LOL It would certainly be easy to use in the motorhome as well. I am going to research and see if I can print something and start some type of training, I think.

We have snow on the ground and many of the local schools cancelled classes, but our town roads are clear and I got out for a 30 minute walk. I also stocked back up on Cuties, Fuji apples, and have frozen grapes in the freezer. So I feel good about having fruit servings around!

Have a wonderful time, Tessa, and Jacque, good for you on the gym!

Good afternoon all.

Ruthann, good job on a loss. We've still got lots of time in this month for more loss. Keep it up.

Tessa, hang in there and make sure you get in as much exercise as you can. Lots of water and relaxation. I hope the weather is good for your outing.

Sharon, you're doing great. Keep it going and you'll be in onederland before you know it. It'll take another of these challenges for me to see onederland also, unless I have a huge loss next week and it would have to be a very large loss and I don't see that much happening. I'll be OK with it being next month, lol.

I went to my new gym this morning and got in a good workout. The equipment is a little different, so I'm having to change things up just a bit and I can tell it. I think it will be good once I get a routine going. They are very friendly and helpful there, so I feel I can ask for help if I need to.
Well, I managed to stay the same for this week and after weighing the other day and being up, I feel good about that. Well, sort of. I'm disappointed that I'm not losing. It just seems like my scale has a mind of its own. I guess I need to start tracking my food better. I know that my meals have been healthy for the most part, but I must be eating more than I think or something. Maybe I'm not eating enough now that I'm getting in all the extra exercise. I really don't like tracking, but it looks like I'm going to have to for a while.
Well, have a good afternoon all.

I regret I have gained wildly in the last 2 weeks.
My only aim for the last days of this challenge is to get my eating under control.
We are going away for a few days Sunday evening (in the motorhome) and unless the weather is bad we should be active while away. Just hoping the unseasonal snow that is forecast doesn't mess up our plans.
April should be easier, I have virtually no work! I hope I don't end up eating out of boredom!

Good morning:
I am down again this morning. Which makes me feel like I accomplished something. On this Marching off 10 pounds. two (2) pounds down. Yeah! Needing 2 more pounds to get to underland. I haven't been here for a while but have a great feeling I may make it .

Arlene: I am so proud of you. You also made a positive of this March Challenge which is why we put it on here.

We still have 9 days left.

Keep it positive everyone..

Hi.
I have a loss. It's a 3# loss but that won't show up on my tracker because of my gain before. It was only a 2.50# loss at TOPS but then it's a different scale. I feel better that it was at least a loss.

I agree the distance will make it easier to drive, I have a 5 mile drive which isn't anything compared to what you've been doing.

Good afternoon all.

Don't worry Ruthann, that 4 letter word isn't in my vocabulary.

I went to the gym this morning and cancelled my membership there. I did my workout and came back to my town and joined one of the gyms in town. It is more expensive, but it's only 11/2 miles from the RV and the amount I will save in gas a month could pay for it 2 or 3 times over. Also, with going back to work I'll be able to make it to the gym my 5 days a week still. I was afraid that I wouldn't make it to the other one. I've been driving 23 miles one way to the gym 5 days a week. That's 3/4 of a tank of gas a week. You add that up and it gets pricey. I hope everyone else has had a good day.

Jacque: DON'T QUIT EVER! It was just a suggestion to keep going in April.

Well I dropped a half of a pound this morning.

AMAZING! I have been really true to the plan but for some reason last night it worked. ??????

I still dont' want to get on the scale.. maybe in a week or so.
I've not eaten so much the last couple of days between meals anyway.
Been for a run today and walked quite a way so at least I've had some exercise.

Well my big 1 pound loss for the month. I am so happy that I haven't gained since I have been home from Yuma.
This hasn't been the best month for me. But NOT to gain is a big plus in my book.

Sharon: This month is not over but you have been doing wonderful and Marching off the pounds have been great for all of us.

A lot of times weight loss is put aside and this kind of keeps us in track.

I would like to start this over again in April "How about calling it Spring ahead?" Or spring something.
Just a suggestion

Well, the scale finally dropped another lb! The end of the month is quickly approaching and I still have 3 more lbs to reach my goal.

Jacque - you are so right about the negative self talk! I am so busy telling myself I can't lose with all the social eating here in the resort but I need to tell myself I "CAN"

Let's all be conscious about what our self talk is saying!

I've got my trip to the gym in and a trip to put stuff in storage. Now I'm at my desk in my office doing paperwork for Robby. I need to get up and move around right now. I'm sitting here about to nod off, lol.

In all the different positive affirmation things I listen to, I keep getting this same message. This is my paraphrasing of it. 'You are what you speak." In other words, if you keep saying you can't, you can't. It is all in the phrasing and thinking. Let's all try keeping our thoughts and all on a positive note. ie, I haven't lost any weight this week, but I'm still working on it and know I can get this. I know that I sometimes have a negative speech, even if my mind isn't thinking negative. I've found that if I keep my speech as positive as my thoughts, things work better. I hope this helps.

I've been to the gym and the storage so far today and still have some more to do. I stopped to have my Vi shake for lunch and then back at it. I know we can all get this. We are all strong, determined women. emoticon

Ruthann - Oh Dear! Larry, Norm and I have all put on some pounds. Norm doesn't seem to care either. I care and am still struggling but I just can't seem to drop any more. I haven't given up and hope to end the month with a good total loss.

We went to Applebee's for dinner yesterday. Norm ordered green beer but I stuck with water and ordered one of the meals under 550. It was our only meal so I thought I was good but my weight didn't drop. Must have had too much of the dreaded sodium in it! I'll drink lots of water today!

Sharon: Larry has gained 30 pounds since he has stopped smoking. This is the first time that I have weighed less than he dose in quite a while. His MD took a urine test and asked him if he had Diabetes. I have been trying to find my tester and of course i can't remember where I put it.

I will keep trying today to find it. They are really reasonable at Walmart. Then you have to buy the strips which are more money than the unit.

Getting old SUCKS!

Still holding my own. My girlfriend gave us some Shepard Pie she had made. It was delicious. She gave me so much I cut it in half and will have the rest tonight. She said you didn't like it. OH but we did. I just don't eat as much as I used to.

There was a picture on face book of someones St. Patrick's day dinner. There was so much food in the plates it is amazing that they could eat that much. I could have eaten the whole meal all week and still have left overs.
I guess it is just the habit that people are used to doing. (Yup, I am/was guilty)

Oh I totally agree they have to want it. I was just thinking of some meals you might be able to share.that way you might not have to fix two meals. I know Robby won't even discuss 'DIET', but he is willing to eat healthier, so I try to meet in the middle. Sometimes when I fix a meal, like chili or tacos, or one of the meals requiring ground beef. I switch and use Turkey. I season things enough that you can't tell the difference and the calorie and fat count are much lower. Of course I only fix dinner for the most part. I do fix him breakfast every morning and I have my shake. We do what we have to with them, lol.

Sharon, hang in there. That big 5# the first week is trying to even out. I know how you're feeling. I'm hoping that I can lose back the 2 that I gained this week. I only have 1 more week before I'm back to work. At least I won't be doing evenings for another month though, so I can still work hard at my exercise.

I didn't go to the gym this morning. I thought about it and decided to just go and walk the flea market instead. I thought that maybe my muscles needed a day off. I'm doing 5 days a week right now and that is a good thing. I don't normally do weekends at the gym, because Robby is home and I spend time with him, but he had to work all weekend, so I did go yesterday, but skipped Friday. Still got my 5 days in. Today is kind of my 'skip it' day. I haven't had a shake and we are going out to dinner. I'll have to work hard tomorrow, lol.

Ruthann is right - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink! You can only help those that want to be helped. One day Larry will decide to eat healthier. The good news is I don't remember him being overweight so at least he's keeping his weight within reason.

As for me, I'm struggling again myself. I can't seem to get past the 6 lb mark. I have a WW scale and some days it's up a partial lb and the next day it's down. I'm playing with the same lb over and over again! Geesh! The month is going quickly so I hope to get the scale dropping again this week!

Good thinking Jacque, but he snacks all the time. He loves sugar and fried foods and if I try to cook fish he says it stinks up his house. Trust me there is no reasoning with him.

He brought home potato chips yesterday to go with the onion dip he bought when I was gone to Yuma. Sorry but until he wants to do it. MY HANDS ARE TIED.

OH yeah, He bought a box of GS Cookies and I think he ate every one of them. Right now he is eating Peanut butter cookies left over from the card game we had last night.

YUP HE HAS GOT TO WANT TO. Just like the rest of us. LOL

Arlene, hang in there and you'll get the pounds off.

Ruthann, when you fix for him, just start decreasing the fat in his meals and don't say anything. He won't even notice. Little changes at a time. Keep on hanging in there and those pounds will go away.

Well, I didn't go to the gym yesterday, but I did go this morning. I figure that yesterday I got in a good workout while I was cleaning. I'm just now having some lunch today and we are eating at home tonight, so things should look better this week. I had a shake for breakfast this morning and am having left over posole for lunch. We are having tacos tonight.
Have a good day all.

Arlene: Is there ever a good time?
I started this with Sharon to help her get motivated and to help me keep off the pounds that I have lost and praying I would loose a few more.
Well it is working for Sharon and today I am down one. Phew!
I was doing well in Yuma.
I didn't have to cook. Now here I am back trying to figure out what he wants to eat.
He don't like to eat health so that makes me cook 2 meals.
What can I do?

Just to inform you all I knew this wasn't a good time for me to do this but I'll keep trying. I stayed the same for 2 weeks but this week I had a gain of 1.25#. So I'm in the hole.

I see some of you are having some good results and that's great. I love to see that.
