Good Afternoon Team! Well, at least it's still afternoon for some of us. A few are settling in to your evening already.

I have been busy at the laundromat today. The temps hit 100 so I wanted to get out of the MH. Our MH has so many windows that from 2-5 in the afternoon our A/C has a difficult time keeping up. The laundry room is A/C, quiet and a nice place to be. I have been washing everything that isn't nailed down. Mainly rugs and the bedding. Our comfortable gets all the dust settled on it and the water was really dirty. I now know why are allergies are bothering us.

I am surprised how many of our team is reading Jack Reacher novels. I never heard of him until I saw the Tom Cruise movie, One Shot. Now both my DH and I are hooked on them. I would love to get a couple of them on audio to listen to on our way home.

MSKRIS - It's always a good feeling to get the RV cleaned and ready to roll. It's just me and my hubby so I pretty much have two wardrobes. We usually leave home without food and spend our first night in a WalMart where I stock up for on the road. Short trips to campgrounds require different plans. When is your first outing?

Marianne - it must be fun to be settling in to the new house. Too bad you aren't finished yet. Going back to the old place is going to be a lot of work but it's necessary. Don't forget to bury a St. Joseph's statue when the house is listed. I don't know if it works but I did and our house sold in the first two weeks!

Ruthann - so good to hear from you. You and your son are in my thoughts and prayers. Now that you are actually with him, how is he dealing with everything? I'm glad he's not waiting much longer for his surgery and I hope all goes well. In the mean time, I'm happy to hear you are reconnecting with some of your family and enjoying sunshine. Check in when you can.

.

Good morning team,

Ann, I hope the dermatologist can get you some relief from the rash and itching.

Glad you're home safely, Eileen, and in time for your DGD's communion.

Sharon and Tammy, DH and I have been listening to Jack Reacher audio books while we travel back and forth between houses. DH loves them and they're growing on me:)

We've been spending full days getting situated in the new house and even getting rid of some things we moved. This place is so much smaller! In a few days we have to go back and clean out the old house, meet with a realtor, and empty the garage and outbuildings. It makes me tired to think about it!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. emoticon

Hi, Just a quick check in....I have been to Maine to see my Niece with my son and I am now in Connecticut with my cousin. While my son is working. The date of the operation is May 7th with a pre op on May first. Trying to get all my visiting done before I have to settle own and face what I came out here for. It is so nice to wake up to sunshine. Cook out today. Stay with my Aunt tonight and drive back to MA tomorrow. It is funny but I sleep like a log out here.

They are starting to get up so I am making perfumed coffee. Hazelnut. It may be good but later I will get a real cup of coffee down town. I hope....
Later.

Morning, RV friends!

Eileen, glad you made it home safely. Having the freedom to wait out weather fronts on your travels is a very good thing. You have a big day today! Enjoy!

Brenda, SS, etc - I was so surprised on FB to see the # of younger FB friends who had a post about George Jones - my 26 year old son among them.

SS, I haven't started my Reacher novel yet, but it's there by my bedside!

Jacque, there are apparently several bears here in SW Missouri these days, but the idea of them out on the coast is "strange" to me - I guess the thought of them being near the ocean rather than these hills that I am used to.

It is supposed to be lovely here today. After a rainy day all day yesterday, that will be very welcome!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Eileen - Welcome home! I'm so glad you made it safe. Now to visit all your family and check how everyone is doing.

Brenda - I also loved George Jones and his music. He Stopped Loving Her Today is my all time favorite song and can still bring me to tears. It is a definite connection between your parents and George Jones. It's pleasant to think of him being welcomed by them and many others.

Good evening all! WE ARE HOME!! Got in this afternoon and started emptying the camper right away. Weather great. We did sit one extra day in southern IA. due to high winds. All our travel days were with great weather as we got inbetween systems. Stopped in Ames, IA for a short visit with my brother and then home. Very tired tonight. Got my exercise and sweating in with cleaning out the camper.

I have scanned your notes and too tired to respond except to Sharon that we have taken that route as well when we came back for an AZ. vacation. Great roads & we don't do long hauls either like we used too!

Going to finish Sparkin' and off to bed. Back tomorrow after our first communion celebration with our g/daughter!

Good evening, Yes Jude George Jones will be missed loved his music too in fact mom and dad did too dad requested that his songs be play at their funerals and the one defintley to be played was He stopped loving her today. and we did what he asked so with his passing yesterday it was a sad day for me and hard. Strange though he and dad was both 81 and Georges birthday is the date mom passed away odd I think so I am sure mom and dad was there to greet him up in heaven yesterday .

We had a busy day today went and picked out shingles for the new roof we will be getting that done next Saturday as long as it doesn't rain which it has done all day here cold rainy and just crappy. and just ran errands Got up at 730 and I am tired tonight,

Sounds like everyone's keeping busy . I don't know much else so I will talk to you all later Brenda

Good afternoon all. Last workday and then a couple of days to relax. This week isn't nearly as bad as last week was. I'm tired, but not like last week when I was ready to drop.

Sharon, it's always hard when you're ready, but feel like you should be doing something. Enjoy the book. I still get to the gym on Mondays, but need to get my schedule set where I can go at least 2 more days a week. I should be able to go on Tues. too starting this next week. If I can do that and get one more day in, I'll feel better about it. I really enjoyed going the 5 days a week, but will just have to see.

Ann, I had started to suggest the Benadryl, but not knowing the chemo or meds wasn't real sure of whether it would help. That is my go to on any allergy or itching. I hope you are able to get some relief quickly.

Jude, I'm jealous. I love the Oregon coast, well, I love any coast, lol. My mother was born on the Or coast though. She was born in the Coos Bay area. I don't remember the name of the town right now though. It might have actually been Coos Bay. One of my cousins has a 'beach' house. It's about a mile from the beach, but really a nice enjoyable place. When I was there a few years ago, we spent a weekend there and I took a sunrise walk on the beach. My cousin had told me to be careful about the walk because they had bears in the area. I didn't see any though. I also didn't get to see much of the sunrise, because it was foggy, but I really enjoyed the solitude of the walk.
Enjoy your time and send pics.

Arlene, I hope you get your itch squared away also. I know it's never fun.

Eileen, I hope you are able to wait out the wind and not have to drive in it.

I hope I didn't forget anyone. Have a great evening all.

Good Morning!
Another hot day in AZ! I feel like I should be so busy preparing to leave but there really isn't much more to do. I've cleaned drawers and cupboards, floors and rugs. I have the last minute bedding and such that can't be done until Monday. So in the meantime, I guess I'll just relax and continue reading my book, a spellbinder by Lee Childs. One of his Jack Reacher novels, The Enemy.

Ann - so sorry about the itch (you too, Arlene). I have been doctoring for several years over an itch that drives me crazy. They keep telling me it's stress related and the derm gave me some anxiety meds and a cream to apply. Most of the time that holds it at bay, but I often take a Benodryl before retiring for the night.

Jacque - it was nice of the trainer to check up on you. I imagine a lot of people join gyms with the intention of being faithful and then decide they don't like it (me, for one). At least he's doing his job and encouraging you. I'm sure you'll be back as soon as you get your new routine figured out.

Eileen - I envy you arriving home today as you have your trip behind you. We will arrive home next Saturday if all goes as planned. We usually take I-10 to I-20 to I-30 until we hit the major road north 57 to 59 to 94. We find it's a little further but no mountains and the wind on I-40 is always bad so we avoid that. We like to travel about 350 miles a day so we take it slow compared to some who drive 600 miles a day!

Judy - I'm glad you enjoyed the nat'l park. It sounds like our visit to Yellowstone. We could only drive from the east entrance to Old Faithful and then turn around and take the same road back as there was still snow and the roads were not clearned. Being from MI we never thought there would still be snow there the end of May. Shows just how naive we are!

On the road for another 200 or so miles today. We are in the parking lot of the Winnemucca, Nv. Walmart and will pull out right after breakfast. Should be in Oregon in a couple of hours...yea!! I will be in 7th heaven when we reach the coast next week. We will spend about a month heading up the entire coastline and visiting all our favorite places.

Sharon...most of the park was clear of snow, but couldn't reach the top of Wheelers Peak as they were clearing the roads up there. Nice place....never even heard of it before last week.

Ruthann...hope all is going well for you and you can be in touch soon. Prayers for your son.

Ann...sure hope you can get some relief for your itching problem. That must be an awful feeling. Hang in there.

Well, have a good day
Jude

Thanks Arlene. Sorry about the mix up. Think I was reading a little faster tonight than usual. Glad Ann is getting help sooner than expected.

Eileen - It's Ann in San Diego that's getting into the doctor and I can see why they'd push it with the chemo treatments she's under. I'm handling mine on my own right now.

Good evening to all!

We chose to stay another night here at the Lakeside. We watched many units leave & decided to move up to the front row so that getting out in the morning won't be hair raising with truck eating potholes!! They did start filling the big ones with gravel to help in leaving as it is a one way setup. Glad we hung in there as the winds were tough to even walk in. Most of those around us are from MN. too:) Hearing that all the snow is gone in the Cities except for the piles, some being at least one story tall! The temp there was 70 at 8 PM!! Here is was 60. Stopping at my brother's along the way for a quick visit and should be home by 4 PM tomorrow. Still light enough to back the unit into place.

Sharon, if you come up through OK/TX. border, do stop. It is fascinating and if there on Weds. a free bkft. buffet.

Arlene, I am glad you are getting into the clinic soon. Hope you find a solution to the rash. It has to be uncomfortable.

Ann, thanks for the web site. My DH is looking at it right now. We aren't gamblers and when we do go in, we tend to donate to the place.:):) Most of them are really nice places w/FHU and little enticements.

Jude, it sounds like you are having a great time. We haven't been in that area so will keep it in mind for the future. Will be making the trip to the SW to visit lots of friends but don't know when.

And to all, I need to get onto sparkin' so that I can get to bed at an earlier time than usual!! Always seem to be up until 1 AM, trying for 12 tonight!!

Arlene, I called the oncology office about my rash and did get a call back to see my primary care dr to get a referral to a dermatologist. I got an app't with the N P and then a call back that my dr. could see me later on Mon. afternoon. That was a surprise. I'm not expecting much help either. The derm. probably isn't aware of the different chemos and what they can do. I will take the info sheet on the one I'm now getting. Tonight I'm going to try what I once was told to take for the hives. A Benadryl at bedtime and an Alavert in the morning.

Good evening all. Another beautiful day here. I hope everyone has had a good day today. I'm sitting here at my desk getting ready to start on some paperwork, but decided to pop in and say hi first. This week has really flown by. It's hard to believe that it's Friday already.
Things are settling in nicely here at work. I'm pretty much back into routine, now I just have to figure out how to add the gym back in in the mornings. I feel so much better when I get a workout in. I think that now that I'm back into a routine I can get it going again. I was so impressed with them. Yesterday, the little guy who signed me up called me to make sure everything was going well. I go before he gets ther in the mornings, so he hasn't seen me but a few times and wanted to make sure I was enjoying it and if I had any questions. I think that is the first time I've ever had a gym call and make sure I was making it all right.

I read everyone's posts, but am not going to try and answer them right now. I need to get off of here and get busy. Have a good night all.

HI Everyone,

Ann - That is so annoying. I've had an itching problem and I can't even blame it on Chemo. Still don't know what has caused it but to get into a dermatologist it's a 9 - 6 month wait so I've been trying different creams over the counter. I've hit on one called Triderma that is working for me. I was itching so badly around my waist line that I'd end up almost in tears at times. I'd do my best not to scratch but sometimes it was the only way to keep my sanity. Right now the itching has stopped and the discoloration is getting better. And my PCP couldn't seem to give me an answer. The 2 times I did see a dermatologist he wasn't any help at all.

Sharon - I can see you are "itching" to get on the road for home. Hopefully the weather is settling down in you route line. It's getting pretty good here. Just hope it doesn't warm up too fast. I'm sure you all have heard what happens around here when it does that.

Brenda - I'm so glad for your sake settling the estate went so painlessly and fast. The year and a half that it took for my moms was not a picnic at all. And the sad result is that I still have brother that is bitter. Or maybe it's his wife but at this point it's one and the same thing.

Marianne - It sounds like you're getting settled nicely. And those boxes seem to be holding surprises since you had help packing :)

Jacque - It seems you're settled into your work routine again.

Eileen - Soon you'll be back to snowy MN, hmm? I have a friend that lives in the Cities and she's commented on all the snow in the Cities. And we have a friend from here in Minot who just made a trip to the Cities and back in between the now storms.

My poor daughter has spent many hours working closely with her students year after year and not gotten sick very much and this year it's seem to have caught up with her. She's gone between sinus infections and flu. She's gotten her flu shot and is so careful.

Well I guess I better get busy around here.

Good Afternoon. My morning has been shot at the lab. Not that I had anything else to do. One hour and ten minute wait. They do take app'ts but not easy when you don't have a lot of days notice for the needed trip. Now I have a call in to the oncology office. My rash on the side and back of my head has spread to all over my head. I know it is from the chemo but boy does it itch.

Sharon, we traveled all over the U..S for months at a time but when we were finally headed home I was like you. Go, and don't stop. There are web sites on line that will tell you where the casinos are. One such web site I have in my favorites is casinocamper.com

Brenda, what a good feeling to have the family estate all settled. That was the easy part for me with my mothers estate, the hard part is trying to get her house sold.

Marianne, I hope you get the air conditioning fixed. That warmer weather hasn't worked its way south to us yet.

Good Morning!

Today I will be focusing on laundry and I should pretty much have the laundry room to myself! I will go to the laundromat across the street on Monday to do the comforter and bedding as they have large machines just for that sort of thing.

Judy - I checked out the Great Basin Nat'l Park online and it looks beautiful. Several of the pictures show snow in them. I wonder if you'll be seeing snow.

Tammy - I feel your pain. I was awake way too early this morning myself due to noise outside! Can you believe we only have a couple people left in park models near us and this morning they were outside having coffee at 5:30AM and having lots of fun! I can't stay mad though as they are our closest friends. Instead of getting mad, we just got up and joined them!

Eileen - we usually spend the night in a WalMart parking lot if we want cheap. We've never stayed in a casino but I told Norm we should check it out on our trip home. There should be one or two between AZ and MI, lol. So you will make it home by tomorrow! Lucky you! I am so anxious to get home that I'm not really looking forward to the trip but we don't have any choice.

Marianne - it sounds like your neighbors are welcoming you to your new home! It's nice to have that kind of distraction.

Brenda - I'm glad you are getting everything settled with your father's estate. My dad left us in such a mess. In fact I went to a physic party (very popular for awhile in MI) and at my reading my dad came through and apologized for the mess he left us with! Believe it or not!

Well, just checking in to say Hi. Have 300 miles to put in today to get to Winnemucca. Will be there a couple nights for laundry etc. Prospector Casino is a good place to stay if you're passing thru Ely, Nevada...FHU for $15 per night.

Went to Great Basin Nat'l Park yesterday. Waaaaay out in the middle of nowhere on Highway #50...called the "Loneliest Highway in America" ......and boy, it is. Goes from Times Square in NY to the Calif. coast. We will be on it again most of today. Nothing out there for miles at a time and you see very few vehicles along the way. Sure nice to have a bathroom with us...LOL The park is known for it's Bristlecone Pine forests. The trees can get up to 1000's of years old and grow so slow you can't even see their growth rings like you can on other trees. Very interestings trees to see too.

Off to towards Oregon....

I woke way too early; it just happens sometimes. I can use the time to grade some things and prepare a little better. Perhaps with that done, I will be able to rest better the remainder of the weekend. I have a meeting at the campus at noon that I chose to sign up for, so I will be doing that for an hour as well.

Have a good day!

Back on for another evening!! We had a travel day today. Left WinStar and made it to the IA. border to the casino there. Again inexpensive camping BUT it is in terrible condition!! We aren't sure how we are going to get out of here without some major difficulty. I guess the casino went into bankruptcy and was taken over on Jan1. The campground has one way in and one way out with huge truck & camper eating potholes. As long as we are here, we are staying until Sat. morning then plan on being home before dark on Sat. Beautiful travel day but a little windy. Got a lot of walking in at various times but otherwise a lot of windshield time:)

Ann, I am glad you are getting a little more settled. A/C is so needed in the heat!
Brenda, glad all is going well for you with the estate. It's hard to deal with.
Marianne, sending good wishes with your move.
Sharon, good to see you on tonight. I know the flurry of activity just before leaving!
Tammy, we may have to try that one. We find most of them inexpensive & nice with full hookups! (Hoping this one gets a good face & road lift!!) We don't have any campgrounds open in MN. so IA is kind of the end of the camping til mid May.

Good night to all!

Eileen

Good Evening! Gosh, did you miss me???

We had another busy day and we even went out to The Pork Shop again and filled our RV freezer up with pork to take home with us.

Norm was craving spaghetti so when we got back I made that for supper. Just finished cleaning up and thought I would pop in and say Hi.

I'll try to check in earlier tomorrow. It took me a while to catch up with all the news but I won't comment on all the posts tonight - I'm tired and heading for bed!

Good evening all,

Ann, not tv, but still organizing and unpacking. The cooler weather is very welcome - our air conditioner is not working.

Jacque, my DD and GS stopped by today - we ended up going out for Mexican food for lunch. Between the visit and 2 sets of neighbors stopping by I don't feel like I got very much done!

Brenda, it must be a relief to wind up your father's estate. emoticon on the treadmill work. I need to start going back to the gym we joined.

I'm still looking for stuff I can't find, lost in a maze of packed moving boxes I still need to get to.

Hi, everyone!

Eileen, DH and I haven't been to a casino since way before we got the motorhome; we need to look into that! We actually have one near Joplin that I am fairly certain has hookups.

Brenda, yes, I know that you have to be so very happy that everything is done. I might find it easier to get on my treadmill if I had that program you described.

Jacque, our weather was pretty today, too! I can happily eat Mexican any time! I have about an hour and a half break between my morning classes and my afternoon classes on the days that I work, and the later it gets in the semester, the more apt I am to "sneak" off and catch lunch - but I usually go through McDonald's - NOT the same as Mexican, for sure!

I hope I didn't miss anyone. DH and I ran errands very early this morning; I ran some other errands prior to meeting DD for just a bit before she went to work; then DH and I enjoyed some time out on the deck in the warm afternoon sun. I did walk for 30 minutes, too.

Have a good evening, friends!

Good afternoon all. Where is everyone today? I'm with Ann, when I post this late usually everyone else has already popped in.

The sun finally came back out here. It was very nice when I went out at lunch. Robby and I went to the local mexican restaurant today. It was nice to get away from my office for a few minutes. I've just about gotten back into my routine for work now. Last night I was standing in my office doing nothing and after last week felt like I should have been doing something, but I was done with everything at that time.

Ann, I was just talking to a friend of mine and telling her I needed to go and get a pedicure. I'm thinking maybe next week on my day off.

Hellooooooooooooo. where is everyone. Are your computers all down or are you glued to the TV as I was earlier. Very strange to come on in the afternoon and no one has posted. Breaking clouds and some sun here but a comfortable 65 degrees. My day for a pedicure.

Hi all!
We did have a good day today. Got up and went to the casino for a 55+ free breakfast. Weds. are senior days and they serve a huge buffet free. Couldn't believe the service they provided. If it looked like you were going to move off your chair, someone was there to tell you they would get it for you. A full buffet, orange & apple juice, coffee, milk and a breakfast dessert bar. Then from 10A-2P they gave you $10 on your players card if you played with $20 of your own. We did (of course the penny machines) and came out very well. Left there about 11:30 and pulled off at the Oasis RV park which is on the very last free exit before the Kansas toll road. Not much to look at and the TV we have is a PBS station:) a little difference!!! Good travel day and after the temp of 36 last night, we pretty much had mid 50's all day. So it is warming as we go north. Will be taking the north side of Kansas City tomorrow. We have found a cut off that you don't go through any of the town up on the north end. Looking at southern IA tomorrow night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! (LOL)

Brenda, we live a mile from the Minnesota River that has the Red River share the same water shed in SW MN. The Red is expected to flood rapidly and fill the empty Minnesota which empties into the Mississippi. There could be lots of water flowing through! Time will tell.

Jacque, you take the route mom has used in her travels north. We stayed at WinStar on the border. It is the 2nd biggest casino in the world and working on being the biggest (which is in Asia). It is beautiful and inexpensive!! Basically with all the freebees it was free both nights. $20/night and $10 each person to gamble with plus free beverages and the breakfast with another $10 each to play. Tonight our campground is $29 with nothing but a flat site with full hookups.
Long enough tonight so will say good eve to all. Will check in tomorrow. E

Good evening all. It looks like you've all been busy.

Ann, I watch spalsh too. I was amazed at the kids ability. Yea I don't think your DD needs the platforms any more ,lol. We have chilly temps again today too. This spring has been just crazy weather here.

Sharon, it was good of you to go and distract your friends from their worries. I hope you get to go to the pork store. I know you enjoy the things you get. I usually only get to see the results show on DWTS. I do enjoy it, but can't really form a good opinion since I'm not seeing all the dances in full.

Eileen, which casino are y'all staying at? The one just over the line on I-35? I've not been to the big one there. I've stopped at the little one though. I don't usually drive over that way. I go up from Paris, Tx into Ok and on to the Indian Nation Tnpk to 75 up to Tulsa. I hope y'all warm up a little.

Jude, good to see you back. I was beginning to think you'd gotten lost in the Colorado hills, lol. I'm glad y'all had a good time. I like Rousse's too. I don't go there very often though and I didn't buy anything. I was just along for the ride and to navigate, lol.

Brenda, I hope your weather is still nice. Cleaning out the kids stuff after they've moved out is not much fun. We should just make them take it all with them when they leave, lol.

Arlene, I hope your weather has warmed up some. I don't know that I would like your weather.

Well, we had a big storm run through this morning and then the temps dropped from the 70s to the 50s. I haven't been back outside other than to walk across for lunch since I got her though, so I don't know how it really feels out there. I think I might manage to get out of here at a decent hour tonight. I've got all the go backs done for the night, so I could just about leave anytime, but I'll wait a little while still. Well, I guess I should get off of here. Have a good night all.

It's a lazy day here. The gray skies and chilly temps are back so I am just lazy. I'm even making chicken soup for supper. Anything to warm up a little.

Maranne, I sure wish my DH had been a good dancer. He was 6' 5" (but shrunk a little now) and had two left feet. He never could get the hang of leading even after dance lessons. We took up square dancing and that he was very good at. We enjoyed that for many years.

Brenda, I don't have a kid closet to clean but wish I could clean DD boxes in our garage. I know she has a pair of wooden platform shoes in one box that sure won't fit her now and I'm sure she wouldn't wear them if they did. At 6'1" tall she really needs more height.

Eileen, I bet you did have some cold weather the last two days. I heard west Texas was going to be in the 20's. I hope spring has sprung the further north you get. Our RV friends love the penny slots.

Jude, I hope you are heading into warmer weather. I bet your new TV cabinet is going to be very nice. Lots of RVers are replacing their big bulky TVs in the motor home. We didn't have our motor home new very long when the TV was replaced under warranty.

Sharon, have you watched Splash that is just before DWTS? It is winding down and last night they paired up the last 5 contestants with a junior diver that are training for future Olympics. The youngest was 10 and the others up to about 14. Boy could those kids dive.

Ann

Good morning all....

So happy to be back in the world of communications. We have been without internet and phones for the last 10 days. Never realized how much I do online. We parked the MH on the Colorado River in Grand Valley just E of Grand Junction Colorado. Had a great visit with my son and his girlfriend. Too short, but a lot of fun. Even got snow for a day or two...so pretty on all the red mesas in the area.

While there we took out the old TV in our "livingroom" and put in (temporarily) a new flat screen. The other one gave out completely. We will be stopping in Junction City Oregon to have a new cupboard built for a permanent hook-up. We went with my son to Sam's Club and he purchased it for us and we wrote him a check...it was a great buy.

Yesterday we drove from there..GJ...to Ely Nevada. 450 miles and 10 hours and over several mountain passes. Soooo happy to be back in the Pacific time zone! It was a beautiful day with sunshine and reasonable temps. Got down to 25 degrees last night, but we are tucked in to a FHU site at a little casino here, so we are comfortable and warm.

I read thru all the posts for the last week, but will never remember them all :( Ruthann must be back east now. Hope all goes well with her son's surgery and wish him a speedy recovery.

Sharon...hope you have a safe trip back home. How is the weather there?

Jacque...so jealous you get to shop at Rouses grocery. I LOVE that store. I still have some items in the freezer and a box of goodies we're taking back so I can cook a couple of southern dinners when we get back to Wash.

So sad to hear of all the flooding going on and I guess the Mississippi is going to get worse before it reaches the Gulf. Can't believe it was just a few months ago that they were dredging it so the barges could navigate thru.

Well, off to do some poking around the town of Ely. It looks really old.
Take care...Jude

Good Morning!
Well, our trip to the Pork Shop was a bust! We drove all the way there (a 40 min drive) only to find out they are closed on Tuesday's. So no purchases. Norm says if we find time later in the week, he wants to try again!

We went out to dinner with our friends (another neighbor). They were going to leave tomorrow but they have a daughter that lives in Phoenix. She was diagnosed last week with a brain aneurysm and see a specialist tomorrow. They decided not to leave until they see what is happening with their daughter. We decided still to go out and have a few laughs to uplift them instead of sitting home worrying.

Tammy - some one better tell your DD not to ask for advice unless she is ready to hear it! My advice to you is the next time she asks, tell her you are keeping your opinion to yourself rather than get another bad reaction. I agree with all others, you really are doing so well with how you react to her. One thing she's goading you for is a reaction.

Arlene - I hope your weather isn't too bad today. I see the forecast for a few days out is for it to get warm to the point that they'll worry about flooding. MI is still dealing with flooding and I think they are getting more rain now too.

Ann - I'm happy Victor was voted off DWTS! Who will be the next to go. I think it may be the Bachelor. Andy Dick is getting votes just because everyone is happy with his sobriety and determination. Oh well, I'll be sure and tune in next week. We'll be on the road on Tuesday so if I don't see it on TV, I'll watch it online the next day.

Marianne - how nice you DH watches DWTS with you! I'm banished to my bedroom TV as Norm doesn't care for it. I'm glad you are settling in and unpacking. Some things I packed lovingly and brought with us, I look at and wonder why? Wow! You're not wasting any time going back and listing the old house. Good Luck and I hope it moves on the market quickly so you can cross that out of your life!

Jacque - I agree that the hot temps here are bearable because of the low humidity. I must admit that triple digit temps is hot no matter where you are in country!

Brenda - I'm surprised the cortizone shot gave you such a bad reaction but I'd wonder about getting another one also.

Eileen - I agree you should time your arrival so that you have the better temps. You may have to go around if necessary but still worth it to get home. Just travel safe!

HI all,
We are on the road and have spent overnight at the TX. OK border in a beautiful casino campground. Yesterday was a beautiful day and we took advantage of a shorter drive and then some walking after we got setup. Decided to spend a 2nd day here as we got about 7" of snow at home and are waiting out storm systems. Of course today was cold, windy and misty. Tonight there a a strong possibility of a frost/freeze here. So rather cold. Have gone to the casino a couple times and have come out a little ahead. You don't win much playing the penny machines but rich enough for us.:) Looks like we will be leaving sometime tomorrow to continue north. travel has been good so far. We keep getting told it is to 70 degrees at home on Sat. so may time the trip to that. Hoping the river will be crossable on our road and we don't have to go 35 miles out of our way to get around it.

Good evening all. It's been another beautiful day here. Not that I spent much of it outside. I was in my office pretty much all day. I went in and did all the laundry, including my own today and rather than rushing through it like I do on race days I just took my time and didn't get out of the office until almost 4. Robby and I went out to dinner tonight, so at least I didn't have to come home and cook when I got done. Plus there are now leftovers in the fridge that he can have for dinner, the next couple of nights anyway.

Marianne, I'm not actually a huge Hobby Lobby fan, I was there with a friend. I do on occasion go there, if Michaels, JoAnns or Hancock doesn't have what I'm looking for. My go to place for fabric is always Hancock first. It's like Christmas opening your boxes when someone else packs them, lol. Hope you're finding everything.

Ann, glad you're starting to get some warm weather. We're up and down still. It's been warm the last few days, but before that we were down right chilly for a few. I keep a jacket in my van all year round.

Tammy, I'm glad the showers were a good time for you. Hope you didn't get too much in the way of rain today.

Arlene, I hope y'all start getting some warmth soon. Seeing all the cold weather that's been going on in the midwest, I'm glad I'm in the south.

Brenda, good job on getting the carpet down. I will take on about any project that strikes me. Robby handles most of the repair things, but I do help him and would have no issues with doing them myself if necessary.

Sharon, I know you're starting to get pretty warm there. I would take that weather all the time. We are warm, but the humidity is really starting to kick in. I never complain about warm weather though. It's the cold I have problems with. Just make sure you stay well hydrated. That will be the biggest issue there.

Well, guess I'll get off of here for now. Have a good night all.

Good afternoon all,

Tammy, I'm glad you enjoyed the showers. Some of the games at showers I've attended seemed silly, but broke the ice for people who didn't know each other.

Ann and Sharon, both DH and I watch DWTS. DH is a much better dancer than I am and is more critical of the performances :) I'd like to see Victor go as well, he hasn't seemed to put much effort in.

Arlene and Jacque, ok, there's a Hobby Lobby nearby and I've never been. You both have me interested, not that I need any more craft stuff at the moment! emoticon
As I'm unpacking I'm finding stuff I forgot I had. A friend packed up most of my office and craft supplies so every box is a new discovery.

Arlene, we're hoping to attend a Good Sam function after the RV is repaired. We also joined the Winnebago state and national group just before the accident - something else to look forward to.

Ann, the hot weather has hit here with a vengeance. Naturally our air conditioner stopped working yesterday and the contractor called a repair guy today, who can replace the part tomorrow, sigh!

We're meeting a real estate agent next week when we return to the old house to get rid of the stuff we didn't take and clean it up. By then I should have all of the boxes we didn't put in storage unpacked. The afternoon heat has slowed my organizing motivation but I'm still making progress.

Sharon, you're leaving AZ on the 30th? The heat now must be pretty severe. If I could, I'd live in the pool. emoticon

Good Afternoon.

Sharon, I'm a fan of DWTS. I think the boxer or Andy will go home tonight. I'm surprised how good the dancers are this year. Always love Darrel and his partner Kelly Pickler. I remember her from being sort of dipsy on Am. Idol. Love the teenager and think it would be nice for Val to win. His brother has had his fame and time for Val the younger brother. The football player isn't bad either but I think it will be a female winner this time. The costumes always amaze me.

It is warm enough today that I have a short sleeve blouse on and light weight jeans. I guess I'm going to have to change my closet very soon. Generally I can do that in March. We had shut the heater off but had to relight it for a couple of days that got darn chilly.

DH just informed me I was going to have to take him to pick up the SUV from the Bump and Dent repair shop. Twice he has tried to open the tail gate while the car has been in the garage. This time he accidently hit the button while the garage door was going up and the two of them got stuck together. Why he thought the doors were locked while the car was in the garage I'll never know.

We have a nice day here today but tomorrow isn't supposed to be so nice. Snow showers and high winds, yuck! Then it's supposed to get nice again. At least that's what the 10 day forecast says.

I've been busy with Good Sam stuff, trying to learn everything I'm supposed to know and trying to calm ruffled feathers. Sometimes you wonder if they're adults.

I made a trip to Hobby Lobby again this morning. They had a craft cutter (Spellbinder) I've been looking at. I went in yesterday morning first to see if it was an item I could use the 40% coupon on, they said yes. Then had to think about it overnight to see if I wanted to spend even that much. Well I gave in but will also make sure I go in a few times to get the cutting plates as I can use the 40% on those too but since you can only use it on one item per purchase I'll go back. The good thing is it's only a couple of blocks from the mall that we have coffee at.

Marianne - Good luck with the work on the motor home. They always seem to take longer than we want them too. But they are always busy too. It's nice Darrell can do the engine work himself but what your having done has to be done in a shop.

Sharon - Enjoy those days in the sun down there. The weather in the Midwest has been so unreal. I can't believe all the snow we still have and it's almost the end of April.

Well I better get busy here. Catch you all later.

Arlene

Brenda, Garden show? I had a couple of bridal showers on Sunday - they were very nice and I was very pleased for the young couples - one of which is my DS and fiance, the other was my niece and her fiance - but no garden shows, but I would have loved that, too!

SS, I slept last night. She asked for some advice, and then got mad at my advice. I will live over it I bet, don't you? emoticon Never a dull moment there, as you know. She chose to not take her depression meds anymore, too, so add that into the mess...that is actually the part that scares me the most, but I have thought for some time that she was OVERmedicated. Because she is an LPN, she would know all the "right" things to say...and because of her diagnosis, she WOULD say the "right" things. :-(

I went to get my hair trimmed; I will need to do it more often with this new shorter cut, but I surely do like it!

Have a good day!

Good Morning!
Another hot day on tap for us. We will be out and about doing last time stops. We like to visit the Pork Shop before we leave and stock our freezer with port products. Every day someone from our group of friends are leaving. Our neighbors left this morning at 6AM so we spent some of last evening with them for last goodbyes. I also watched Dancing with the Stars. I'm enjoying this season. I have never been an Andy Dick fan but he's winning me over on this season. He works so hard. I'm afraid he'll be eliminated tonight but I hope Victor goes. He didn't even dance last night. He just stood and let the professional do all the work. Does any one else follow this show?

Tammy - I see you had a rough day yesterday. I hope it's better today! Don't let your DD bring you down again.

Brenda - good for you! Women can do what they put their minds too. I'll bet you did a mighty fine job on replacing the carpet.

Hi, RV friends!

Isn't Ruthann on her way to Boston now? Positive thoughts/prayers, regardless of where you are, Ruthann!

It is raining here this morning and I think it will be all day. I have grocery shopping, paperwork, piano lessons, and some laundry to do today. Oh, yes, some exercise, too!

I will try to pop back in later - I am envious of your Hancock and Hobby Lobby stops, Jacque!

Good evening all. It looks like everyone has had a good day today. It's been beautiful here today again. I went in to Lafayette again today. Had to go to Hancock and get some snaps to fix a silk for a trainer. Went to a few other stores too. I was with my friend and she needed to go to Hobby Lobby and get something for her daughter.

Ann, it sounds like you had a relaxing day reading today. Hope you're feeling well.

Brenda, I'm glad y'all had a nice afternoon yesterday. Hope today has been good.

Sharon, enjoy all of your 'lasts' for the season. I know you are ready to head home, but hope you don't have any rough weather on the way. The girl who called about the treadmill called me today and apologized, she said they didn't get to their truck til almost 9 and she didn't want to call that late. They came today and bought the treadmill.
