Good Morning All ...

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. When we got home from our 4th of July camping (make that RVing) weekend I had dozens of e-mails from the guy in charge of the Merit Badge Midway (my work station at the National Scout Jamboree) and a few dozen more from the leader of the Merit Badge Commissioner team I'm on. I've been reading through their e-mails and following their guidance, trying to get everything lined up and make sure I have everything I need for the trip. After two years of planning I can't believe that I'm finally leaving in 10 days.

I've skimmed through all the posts that have been made in the past six days, and there are just too many to reply to you each individually. Sorry.

I see we've not only gone over 1,000 posts on this thread, we've more than doubled that amount, so I'm closing this thread out and starting Tell Us About Your Day (5) in the interest of faster downloads.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'll check back when I can.

PLEASE ... no more posts to this thread. Join me in TUAYD (5) to continue our conversation.

Good morning:

JACQUE: You are so right. With my East Coast accent and my happy disposition I living up the room and everyone knows that I have arrived. Larry just lets me go at it and then he takes over. Especially at a car club meetings.

Brenda: It sounds like you are struggling with the three digit temps we are hearing about on the news. Stick with it, trust me it won't last forever. It was 91 today here in WA. I just can't believe that we had winter jackets on 2 days ago. WE take what we can get and it is sooooo nice to see blue skies.

Went back to the gym yesterday. My old friends are still there. I try to exercise while they are telling me all about what is happening in their lives while I have been away. It is funny we e-mail but I guess they need to vent.

Today I am looking for a dentist to look at a chipped tooth I got while brushing my teeth. These things never happen while I am near the half priced dentist in Alcadones, MX. I have a sonic air tooth brush and I am not sure if it had anything to do with it? Otherwise I guess I am just falling apart. What do you expect after having them all these years.

Time for breakfast. Looking forward to weighing in for the Loow tomorrow. See you there.

Good morning team. I hope everyone is well today.
I'm at work and thought I'd pop in real quick before I get really moving for the day. I got an early start this morning, so am ahead of my usual schedule of things here.

Sharon, enjoy the day. I'm with you and not Bailey. I'd rather sit out and sweat than lay in the AC. Well most of the time anyway, lol.

Arlene, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Take care of yourself, bronchitis is nothing to mess with. I get a flare up now and again. It's no fun. I'm not sure why I'm so tired. I just can't seem to get rested up. I think I've napped everyday this week. That is very unlike me. I think maybe the stress of last week finally caught up with me.

Gerry, good job on the bowling. I imagine you're out enjoying your pool. Keep it going.

Ruthann, I can't imagine anyone not knowing you're around, lol. You even liven up the pages with just your words, I can just imagine what you do to a room when you walk in. Enjoy your summer weather.

I take my truck in tomorrow morning for them to do the estimate and get it fixed. I hope it doesn't take to long. I don't want to have to be without my vehicle for long. I guess I'll rent a car, but don't know for sure. One of the jockeys has an extra one I might be able to use. I just have to talk to him this evening and see if I still can.

Well, I guess I'd better get some more work done. Chat later.

Good morning. It is starting our cool this am in the low 50's, and it will be over 90 this afternoon. Yesterday was beautiful. I did get a chance to relax on the deck and enjoy the sun for a half hour. My life needs to slow down. Too much to do at home. Yuma was an every day vacation and no work to worry about. Boy is that telling me something.

Well off to the gym, Tai Chi and LINE DANCING. No wonder I don't have time for anything else. I love the pool in hot weather because you get the exercise but don't sweat or feel the heat.

UP, Larry says here it comes. Now I can crow about the heat. God If I didn't bitch he would never know I was here.

Have a great day. I will....

Good Morning!

Another relaxing day here at the campground. It is going to be another hot and humid day here. Looks like we are in for some storms later today and tomorrow - no severe weather but relief from the heat and humidity.

Bailey goes out of the MH each morning but by mid morning she's begging to bo in the MH where she can lay around and enjoy the A/C. Smart dog! While we sit outside and sweat - lol

Hi Everyone,
Well I'm sitting down here while I'm waiting for the laundry, mine & moms. This afternoon I shampooed the carpet at mom's apartment while my sister cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom. She is very thorough if nothing else. I really should have her do my house. Then mom called with a panic attack while we were eating, she was sure one of the aides had taken a blouse out of her closet and put it on the other lady in her room. They hadn't. It gets to be interesting.
I went to the Convenient Care Clinic this morning because my Prim Phys. is out of town and she said I have Bronchitis and just in case there might be some Strep she gave my a Z-pac. So I should feel better soon. And really I do already.

Jacque - Sometimes we just need that time don't we? You are always on the go, you deserve some down time.

Ruthann - Enjoy those nice temps. You've waited a long time for them.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Hi all.

Arlene, sorry to hear you're under the weather. I hope you start to feel better very soon. I'm glad your sister made it and is taking an active roll in getting some things done that you haven't had the chance to, and getting your brother and SIL involved as well.

Ruthann, keep up the good work with the loss. Enjoy all the dancing, sunshine, etc.

Sharon, even though everything was open today, but I didn't get a single thing done, lol. I went to work this morning and when I finally got home this afternoon I sat down in my recliner and took a nap. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. I'm glad you had a good time with family and friends. You and Norm will do well with your eating. Good luck.

I hope everyone has a nice evening.

Monday was a quiet day. It was really nice. We had such an overcast that it made it a gloomy day. Today we are having an 80 degree day and tomorrow 90. What a change. We might be sleeping in the MH with the air running at night. I just can't wait to bitch because it is too HOT.
Off to exercise and grocery shopping today. I should be exhausted by noon.
Everyone have a great day. It is great to be alive with a lot of Vitamin D shining through the window.

Hi Team

Arlene - you have been under so much stress your body is reacting. My daughter always gets sick after a stressful time. You're doing all you can, so I hope you feel better soon.

Jacque - everything is back open and running today so you should be able to get lots done!

Ruthann - you are doing great! A loss no less. I'll be happy if I don't gain this week but I can always hope. I think I'm doing well so far and now the group has left so it's just Norm and I. At least now we can eat whatever we want.

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick check in. We're back from our weekend away. We were so lucky the weather was good. Friday the day we took off was a scorcher tho. It would have been a great weekend except I ended up with a horrible sore throat starting late Fri night. So not great but it is better. As a matter of fact I went to the drug store and bought some face masks so that I could go see mom when I got back to Minot. They aren't comfortable and look weird but I diffinitely didn't want to pass this stuff on to anyone there.
My little sister got here and has been doing some cleaning in moms apartment that I haven't had time to do. She does a much better job at it than I'd ever do anyway. She even enlisted my brother & sister in law to help her. Tomorrow she & I will get the carpet shampooed so it will be really nice for mom to come back to. I'm still being positive and hopeful that will be soon. She was doing well when I was up there soon.

I'll be hitting the bed early tonight because this sore throat has been doing a number on me. I've had my hot tea with honey already.

Catch you all later.
Arlene

Good morning all. I hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th. We had a good day all around. Took the kids to see fireworks. It was a pretty good display, the kids had a ball. Trying to get things accomplished today, but not having much luck, everything is closed. Oh well, going to get with it and do some stuff I know I can do. Check in later.

Good morning: I made it through the BBQ's with a 1.3 loss. Last night they had salmon and they burnt one side. I just loved the flavor and crispness of the fish made it a whole new taste.
Today seems a nothing day. Maybe just goofing around the house. I guess I won't know until it happens.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!
Just a quick hello before I'm off socializing for the day! Most of our group is leaving later so I have to take advantage of our time together.

It is already very hot and muggy although I'm not complaining. I slept well with our A/C which a lot of the tenters don't have. They are dragging this morning!

I'll check back later but wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you all. Have a wonderful day!

Hi to everyone, Wow time go by so fast when you are away from the computer. Lots has happend around here since I have been out Rving.
Jacque, Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad that you seem to be ok.
Terrie, You are such a busy person with all that you do. Making those cookies all the time . Maybe you should get PTS to make them. Does he do any baking at home?
I think we will be home for about a week then we leave on another week away with our daugher and kids. She has split up with her hubby and now going thru all the pains of divorce. Hopefully the kids will enjoy some of the summer and we can all be together for some fun.
Too many posts for me to acknowlege, but I did see that we have another Linda added to our group. Welcome. Well better get off of here. My computer is running very slow on this site.
Cheers, Linda

Happy Fourth to all. I hope everyone is having a great day.
Just home from breakfast and out to the property to do some measurements and calculations. Now Robby is taking a nap in his chair. We'll take the kids and go see fireworks tonight.

Ruthann, good job on the BBQ. Good luck on tonights.

I hope that everyone has a beautiful day. Ours is sunny. We do still have some small chances for rain though.
Last night ran well at the track, no major problems on my end. It was our Showcase night. All of our big Thoroughbred races were last night. The smallest purse was $30,000. Everyone seemed to be pleased with how things ran. It was a very long night, we had 12 races instead of our normal 10. Then with all the trophy awards after each race. I think I got out of there at about 10:30. I usually leave at about 9. The kids had my truck, so Robby stayed the whole evening and we came home together. Poor thing he was tired, he had had a very long day too.

Well, off to see what else I can get into for the day.

We had a great time last night with our car club friends at the BBQ. They had BBQ Chicken and I was in heaven. They also had foot long hot dogs and delicious looking hamburgers. I must have over done the chicken because I am plateauing with the weight this morning. Which is OK. I also had salad and deviled eggs.
Today we are going to another BBQ and they asked if we would bring the Model-T. We are hoping it will only rain in the am so that may just happen.

Well July 5th is on it's way....That is the first day of summer for us in the NW. We will be in the 80's next week and 89 prediction for Tuesday. Now I think we have caught up with the rest of the world. We will see.
Enjoy the day, I know I will. I will be making more Brownies this morning. I never even tasted the ones I made yesterday. God please get me through this next batch. AMEN.

Enjoy the day

Good Morning!
The weather is beautiful just as forecasted and we are off to a craft sale this morning. Our big birthday party later today so wish me luck! So far, I've been good and stayed within my ranges yesterday.

Ruthann - yes, we can do it! Keep focused.

Jacque - I'm so excited for you! Everything does seem to be moving quickly so that's a good thing. Please, do take pictures as we like to share with you in your experience.

Brenda - I know you and Mike will speak up when necessary and I'm glad Mike was able to discuss the situation. It will make both of you feel better.

Good morning:
Yesterday was a half way tragedy of line dancing. There were a few of us die hards that showed up. We got half through the show and the whole town of Shelton went dark. I don't know what happened because we all went our separate ways. Something about the show must go on. Not in this case. We never danced to NO MUSIC...Well in any case that show is over.

Jacque: May all your dreams come true. It sounds like you are well on your way. I remember when you were looking for jobs and were hoping that hubby to be got one. LOOK at you now. Looking toward exciting avenues.

Sharon: I know that you better stay busy especially without a computer. I know how much you love to be on it. Just remember WE can do it,we can do it, we can do it... Have a great fat free/sugar free day.

Well I am off to the gym, then Walmart. Come home cook the rest of the stuff for tonight's BBQ that we are bringing. I don't see a sun yet....

OH yeah, Yesterday we put up a canvas awning on our back deck. We put it up between rain showers. We got it all up and put out all our cushioned chairs, by the way soaks up rain, and it just pored. We noticed a couple of holes in the canvas. We will dob those with waterproofing when it drys out. I just wonder if the people in CHINA buys the same crap that they sell us. We bought it on line because getting a 13X10 Tent screen is hard to find. It cost with shipping close to $200. We had to cut the screen because of the door. So we own it. Oh well it looks nice, but we will have to still cover the chairs with a tarp. I did put the umbrella on the table and it helps the table from getting to wet. Oh well like I say it looks good from a distance.

Good morning all. I see sunshine outside this morning. First I've seen of it in a few days. Nice and bright.

Brenda, I'm so glad Mike said something. Problems like that can't be fixed if people don't say anything. Many times the superviser never knows there is a problem, because noone wants to say anything. I hope things get better.

I hope all of you who are out for the weekend have a wonderful time.

I need to get off of here and get in the shower and get ready for a very long day. We have 12 races tonight and most of them are some sort of a stake race or futurity. We all have to dress up for tonight. We aren't doing our group pics tonight like usual, the boss said it is entirely too hot to have to go and stand outside in a suit to get your picture taken. We will do it sometime this fall during the quarter horse meet.

OK, I'm off here. Have a great day and weekend.

Just popping back this evening just to say hi.

NO plans for traveling. We have projects around the house. We are going to 2 BBQ's I cooked tonight for the first one. Good ole pot lucks. I am determined that I am going to eat right. I made brownies for the guys and salad and Pasta Salad to go with the hamburgers and hot dogs. That is for Saturday and for Sunday we go every year to old friends that we used to be in the Rental Association with. They have a lovely home by the bay and they always served Grilled Salmon. I know I don't have to worry at this BBQ.
It is funny after 4 months of traveling it is good to watch all the traffic on TV and just visit close by with friends.

I will tell you more about the line dancing program we put on today....later.
Must run.

PS: Sharon I know you can do it.....I know you can. I know we can, I know we can.......

Well, I know many of you are out camping this weekend. Be safe and have fun.

Sharon, WAY TO GO. Good job on the water and the walk. Keep it up and you'll be on a good start for next weeks weigh in.

Terrie, I would liked to have given the landlady the benefit of the doubt, but I know she didn't have anyone set to move in. She had 3 other units come vacant Jun 30 too, and I think she was just upset and decided to take it out on the last one to call her. Over and done, everything is moved. The kids are getting settled in. I know they are a little upset about not being able to go to Tulsa, but there will be other weekends.
As for the caseworker, I agree it is rude not to return a call. I'm hoping that it is because she is on vacation and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now. If she doesn't call sometime next week though, I'm going to be very upset with her.

Brenda, I would say something to the charge nurse about the RN. If your MIL is uncomfortable and you are uncomfortable with the care he is giving, tell them you don't want him to be her nurse anymore. You have that right and they have more than one nurse on duty I am sure. I hope everything goes well. Have a good weekend.

Well, my week is ending on a much brighter note than it began on. I got the call today from our salesman and they got the go ahead to order our house. He sent me the spec sheet today to approve and said as soon as I sent it back he would call the order. emoticon I keep saying that this has to be what we are supposed to be doing. From the word go this has been the smoothest transaction I think I have ever had to deal with. I'm almost afraid to say anything for fear of jinxing how smooth things have gone. The way I understand things now, we should be about 4-5 weeks out from being able to move, weather permitting that is. It has been going so fast, I have trouble sometimes thinking that this is really going to happen. Of all the things we asked for in the home there was only one that they couldn't do. Unfortunately it was the main thing that Robby wanted, but he said OK. We'll probably go over to the property Sunday and mark the drive and do some measuring. I'll try to remember to take some pics to post. I'm horrible at remembering to do that .

OK, I'm off of here have a great weekend.

Well, we are now out to the campground and all set up. The rest of our group work so they will soon come straggling in so I thought I'd pop in because once the group starts arriving, I won't be playing on my computer.

It's a nice grassy campground and is filling up fast. There is a sign at the entrance saying No Vacancies. I was proud as after setting up instead of my normal afternoon pop and snack, I drank a bottle of water and walked around the campground!

Brenda - what a story about the weird RN! That would scare me if it were my mother. My exSIL is a RN and he used to tell us to be very cautious while in the hospital as the doctors and nurses are human and make many mistakes. Scary thought!

Good Morning, Jacque glad everything turning out ok for you and your family don't forget to get some rest.

Sounds like all the travelers are getting ready to head out be safe and have fun.

Went to see his Mom last night she had the WEIRDEST RN taking care to her just because she made a few sounds he thought see was in pain so gave her a pain med that made her act strange, we told him that is what she does make funny sounds, he also was going to give 9 P.M meds at 8:20 and had them crushed up in ice cream she is a diabetic.... asked why crushed up he looked at me like I was nuts I told him she take her meds fine swallowing them he still tried to give them to her Michael ask what they were one was a pain med hubby looked at him like why????? Finally the R.N gave up threw it all away and said lets start over and then blamed it on maybe she has dementia and told us all his degrees that he had I thought what does that have to do with anything .... She did tell us every now and then she didn't want that man back in here now I know who she meant and why.Very Weird...
by time we left she was acting normal and alert.we feed her some jello and angle food cake to absorb some of the pain med he gave her.

We going to have a pretty day here again in the low 80's went by Mom and dads yesterday and hot in their house went to kick the air down to get it cooler Mom had the heat on and it was 84 in there I told dad no wonder why you feel nauseated....turned it to air and 78.

I have the house to myself today Jenny had to work at 8 I think this is the first time I have had time to myself for a while feels funny.

Well enough of my rambling everyone have a safe and fun weekend have fun for me too.talk later Brenda emoticon emoticon

Good Morning All

I got most of the motorhome loaded yesterday. Today I just have to put in the last minute things hubby's toiletries (I have "extra" everything already in the motorhome so don't have to load toothbrush, toothpaste, facial cleanser, etc for myself) and some food items that are "shared" between the house and motorhome kitchens. I keep some staples in the motorhome, but those stapes don't include vinegar, brown sugar or ketchup, all of which I need for making pulled pork.

Jacque: It sounds like your daughter is going through a rough time. Having her car totaled, having to cancel her vacation and having a run-in with her landlady all in the same week has to have the poor girl pretty stressed and upset. I can understand the landlady wanting her out on the first of the month if she has a new tenant ready to move in, but I think she could give your daughter a little leeway if there isn't someone standing at the front door, with their suitcases and boxes, ready to move in. The landlady could charge a prorated rent for the extra days your daughter needs to get moved. I hope you hear from the caseworker soon. There is no excuse for not returning phone calls, even if all she has to say is that she doesn't have any more information about the case than she had the last time the two of you spoke. Not returning phone calls is just plain rude! Maybe she's on vacation just giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Arlene I hope you have a fun and stress free weekend out of town. It's amazing how being just a few miles down the road can be so relaxing. Did your brother expect you to "do something" about your mother's complaint that the nurse had been rough when putting on her shoe, or was he just informing you your mother had made a complaint so you would be aware of the situation. Perhaps, in the interest of "continuity of care" he is looking to you to be the family spokesperson in dealing with hospital staff since you have been your mother's primary care giver all these years. I don't know all the dynamics of your family, but realize you have taken the lead in caring for your mother. I just wanted to offer another perspective.

Sharon Enjoy your weekend out of town. I don't have internet access at Downstream, so I'll have to wait till I get home to hear about your weekend. I'm pretty sure the others on this team will be hearing from you during the weekend. You're really good about posting while you're gone and sharing your adventures with us.

Ruthann Are you going out of town this weekend? I don't remember seeing a post about any special plans from you.

Well, Hubby's toothbrush isn't going to walk itself out to the motorhome, so I better sign off and get those last minute items loaded.

Have a safe, happy, stress free and thinning weekend!

Weather: rain, 52/65. What else is new?

Today is busy for me. Tai Chi, line dancing and then a line dancing show after line dancing. So 2.5 hours of line dancing. By that time it will be lunch and too tired and no time left to go to the gym.

Jacque: Remember good things come slow. It seems like your doing the right things and it just takes time to get the best results. Waiting can be hard, keep your mind occupied and it will go by fast.

Good Morning! We will be leaving shortly for the campground so just a quick post.

Jacque - I can only imagine how worn out physically and emotionally you must be. I just Thank God that with all the problems, no one was seriously hurt and you will be fine (eventually!) Enjoy your Holiday weekend.

Good morning team. I'm worn out and sore, but the kids are moved, all but a few small things that they should be able to get in one last load in the truck.
They will have the truck today so they can finish up. I'll take it over to them and then they will take me back to work. We'll figure the car situation out later. One crisis at a time is my motto, lol.
I hope all you that are going camping/RVing this weekend have a happy and safe holiday. I hope the weather cooperates for you all. I think we are finally going to get a break from all the rain today. We'll see.
Well, I need to get ready for work. Have a good day and safe travels.

Ok, I'll try this again. I had typed a post and then went back to look at some thing and lost it all.

Jacque - Sure hope the rest of the holiday weekend goes better for all of your family. Sherie has to be beside herself. With both the car issue and having to be out so fast. It would be nice if you could hear some thing concrete about getting the grandkids.

Terrie - I bet your all loaded and ready to go. When do you head out. Downstream should be nice this weekend. Sibley is nice the only thing is it's farther down the road. We plan to leave about noon. I think Brian's will head out soon after that too. He's planning on getting out from work early, he's been getting in extra time getting things done so he can leave early.

My mom seems to be settling in pretty good. She surprised me a bit today when one of the nurses asked if she planned on going back to her apartment and she said "eventually" not "in a week" which is what she was saying to begin with. I was a little short with my brother tonight he called to inform me mom had complained that one of the nurses was a bit rough with her while putting on her shoe and I told him he could probably handle some of her complaints once in a while. He got a bit defensive. Tough. I really am looking forward to the time away.

Okay I guess it's time to think about heading to bed.

Everyone have a good weekend.
Arlene

Wow, it looks like everyone has been having a busy day. Mine too. Not that I wanted it to be. This has not been a good week. First my wreck on Monday. Yesterday I get a call from my daughter and her car has been hit. She was not in it, thank goodness. She was sitting in her office at work. It was parked on the road where she has parked it everyday since she got it. It looks like her car will probably be totaled. She is upset. The trip to Tulsa had to be cancelled because of all of this. She was going to take my truck, even after the wreck. But I have to have something to drive while they are gone, so that isn't an option now. She found a trailer to rent, so gave her landlord notice that she was moving. The landlady came by the house today and told them they had to be out by today or she was going to call the police and have them escorted out. It has been pouring down rain all day. I was able to borrow a stock trailer today, so they can load up and take everything over. Got some plastic to wrap it all in, so they are in the process of moving everything this evening. While I know the landlady was making an idle threat and Sherie knows this also, with everything else that has gone on this week she just didn't want to have to deal with it. She's already trying to deal with the car, not being able to go on vacation and the general stress of moving, without the added stress of pressure about it. Hopefully once they get everything to the new place she will get calmed down and we'll be able to figure out what to do about transportation for her until the insurance company decides what they are going to do.
As for my truck, I need to call the claims adjuster in the morning and make an appointment to take it in. Then I have to figure out what to do about transportation while it's being fixed.
OK, I'm done whining, lol.

Terrie, we are waiting for the call from the mortgage company with the ok to order the home. Once we get that I think we'll be looking at about 4 weeks to move in. As for the girls, I have no idea. I have left a couple of different messages for the case worker to call and let me know where things stand and have not heard from her. It is so frustrating, she tells me she can't respond to e-mails, but won't call back when I call and leave her a message. If she doesn't answer the phone, then the least she could do is return my calls. I'm trying not to get to excited about the house yet, but it's tough.

OK I've rambled on enough now. Have a great evening all.

Good Afternoon RVers

I'm through the busy part of my day. PTF needed a ride to the Glass Doctor to pick up the motorhome before he went to work this morning. From the Glass Doctor I headed to the base to get a prescription rewritten I had used up all the refills. I darn sure don't want to be 1700 miles from home and not have pain killers if I need them better safe than sorry. From the base hospital I went to the commissary to pick up a few things for the weekend. I forgot to bake cookies yesterday actually I didn't realize yesterday was Wednesday. I made a point of taking butter out of the freezer and putting it on the counter to soften for today. PTS didn't realize it was Wednesday either until he got to work and got grief for not bringing cookies. I made cookies when I got home from the base to make up for yesterday. I ran back and forth between the oven and the motorhome to start loading it up between batches of cookies. Now I'm ready to take a break!

Gerry You sure are handy around the house. You're always cleaning, fixing, or improving something! I hope you have a good turnout for the RV.Net rally. It's no fun to put a lot of time and effort into getting something like that organized then not have people show up to participate.

Hi, Linda, and welcome to our happy little group of RVers. I love this team! It's a chatty group and we have gotten to know each other pretty well over the years. I share things about my family life as well as my efforts to improve my overall health and wellness through healthy eating and consistent exercise. I envy you, Sharon and Ruthann being able to take long trips and enjoy life on the road. I took an early retirement about 18 months ago, but my husband still works full time so we only get out in our motorhome on weekends. Still, weekends are better than nothing.

Sharon Where are you going this weekend? We're going back to our favorite haunt Downstream. Poor Rusty hasn't had a chance to go swimming yet this year. It's been too cold on our previous trips. It needs to be warm and have no rain in the forecast for us to take him swimming because we won't let him back in the motorhome until he has dried off completely.

Brenda Some people have a lot of nerve, and your brother-in-law is one of them! It's a shame we can't pick our families he's definitely not someone I would pick. Keep your cool. He's not worth getting upset over. I hope Michael's job is safe after the budget cuts are announced. I know my brother was going through something similar ... he works for the city of Los Angeles and it is broke too.

Jacque What kind of plans do you and Robby have for the weekend? I hope it's not all work and no play. If I remember correctly the kids are going to OK, aren't they? Any word yet about when you may be able to pick up your other grandkids and move them to LA with you? How's the house coming along? Any idea when you'll be able to take possession and move in? Sorry if you already posted that info I missed a lot of posts while I was at summer camp.

Arlene Enjoy your weekend. You've been through a lot with your mom lately, and it's nice to hear another sibling is taking on some of the responsibility for your mom. You've been doing the Lion's share of taking care of her and you need this break.

I lost my train of thought somewhere during this post. Glenda (my brother's girlfriend) called to get information for my dad's obit. After spending all day Tuesday thinking my father was being cremated that day she told me the crematorium was being renovated so the cremation was pushed back again. Now he'll be cremated tomorrow. I just can't seem to get my emotions on a level plain. What a mess this has been.

Got to run.

Good Morning Fellow RVer's!

I see several of us are leaving tomorrow to hit the road in our RV's. Can I hear a BIG WOO HOO!

I am just tickled with our weather forecast. It is going to be beautiful all weekend - no rain and a little warmer temps each day with plenty of sun. So, Gerry, Mother Nature is being good to us over the Holiday weekend.

I'm grounded at home this morning as yesterday on our way back from shopping, a wheel bearing seized up on our car. Norm had to order a part which is arriving this morning. He's dealing with that today. The funny thing is we have three vehicles but two only have storage insurance on them from our traveling. We never put road insurance on them when we returned. I want to sell my Mustang as I haven't even driven it in two years! It just sits covered up in our garage. My beautiful toy! It will be difficult to let it go as I have babied it for years but if I can't let a car go, how will I ever be able to sell my home!

I'll be busy packing the motorhome today but I'll check in to see how everyone else is doing throughout the day. Have a Sparking Great Day!

Good morning all. I hope you are all having a good day. Big plans for the weekend and all.
All of you who are going to be out camping this weekend, have a great time and be very careful out there.

Brenda, I do so hope that your husband puts his brother in his place. I would be so outraged if one of my family did something like that. I'm not real sure I would be able to be very nice at all. I hope his mom is doing better too.

Arlene, go and take your weekend, leave all your cares behind and let your sister cope for a few days. You need the time for you. It sounds like mom is doing well in her new surroundings, so you should be able to go with fewer worries. Relax and recuperate.

Linda, I'm just north of Lafayette, La., so if you'll be traveling on I10 through here you'll be close to me, lol. If so let me know and maybe we can meet somewhere. It sounds like you're going to have a fun trip.
Have a good day all.

Welcome Linda, this a good support group and not just for weight loss. We all have an ear and shoulder for any one. A few of us have had some trying times lately and I think it helps us a lot just to vent here.

Mom seems to be settling in pretty well. This morning I probably was in worse shape than she was. The crying started once I let down my guard and my poor hubby was my rock as usual. I'm feeling much more confident tonight tho. So I'm ready for our camping trip this weekend. I'm so ready for some time away.

I had better quit here tho and get my stuff ready for TOPS for tomorrow morning. The girls have been real good about filling in for me the last couple of weeks. I'd weigh in and then turn the meeting over to them.
See you all lighter tomorrow. I hope!

Well, I guess I'll have to get busy and take some pix of our RV. We love it; it's built for full-timing and so it's very comfortable.

We live in the country about 35 miles east of Austin. We are both native Texans and have been in this house (we built it) since 1990.

Jacque, we'll be spending about a week in Rusk, Texas with our family and the Methodist Camping group and then we're moving on to Vicksburg, Miss to take in a little history so I don't know if we'll be passing close to you or not. From there, we'll probably be heading to the Big Sam Rally in Kentucky, if we can find a place to stay at this late date.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

Blessings,
Linda

Good evening. I think..the hospital moved his mom to a heart floor because her heart rate went up. sent in a heart Dr he asked if she had never seen a heart Dr before??? Hello it was in the chart and she has congestive heart failure and had a tia yrs ago. he acted insulted that she did and said he would call her Dr we never saw him again....

In the midst of all this his brother asked for more $$$$$$$ because he doesn't have enough for bills ($269) then had the nerve to call Michael and said it wasn't enough needed 40 more for cigarettes. Hubby told him so and he needed to stop any way before his heart surgery. JUST UNBELIEVABLE .

Terrie Jo the flame is getting hotter and hotter and going to blow any time soon. LOL emoticon and he better hope Michael doesn't let loose neither he getting sick of the crap of the people living with him and taking advantage.

On the brighter side we had a beautiful day here in the high 70's and lite wind the best day we have had in a while. I sat out on the deck and chilled out for a while and listened to the cd of Susan Boyle I just love her music.

Well going to go have a good evening . Talk Tomorrow. Brenda

Linda, as Sharon said I'm also glad to see you pop in. She also beat me to the question, what part of Tx are you in I live in southern Louisiana, so if your heading to points east maybe you'll come down our way. I'd love to meet another sparker and RVer. I have met 3 of the girls from this team and they are all wonderful ladies.
I hope we are able to help you in your effort to maintain the weight loss and better health.

Linda - I'm glad to see you jump in and post with us! We discuss just about anything you want to in this thread. Welcome again - what part of Texas are you living? We go through Texas on our way to AZ in the winter.

Another thing I might mention if I haven't already. Most of us on this team have pictures posted of our RV's on our Spark Pages. Take the time to check them out and hint, hint - we'd love to see pictures of your Fifth wheel.

Hello to all! I only discovered this team this morning and joined right away. I've already had several very welcoming comments from some of you so I'm excited about being a part of this group.

DH and I are retired and live in Texas. We started RVing about three years ago with the National United Methodist Campers and decided we love it! We have a 36' Mobile Suites Fifth Wheel and now spend about half time on the road; we just try to get into as much trouble as we can find. LOL We returned last week from 3 weeks in Colorado and we leave this Saturday for "points east." We'll probably be gone 4-6 weeks.

I'm a professional dieter and have lost 100+ pounds several times. I finally got desperate enough to have weight loss surgery (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) and took the plunge April 9, 2009. In the past 14 months I've lost 160 pounds. I know how to lose weight without surgery, but my prayer is that surgery will help me maintain the loss.

I'll drop by often and hope to pick up lots of good RV tips and staying-healthy-on-the-road tips from you guys.

Blessings,
Linda

Hey everyone!

I don't see our bowling team getting to number 1, would be happy with top 5...currently in 11th out of 34 teams.

Worked today around the house, a trip to recycle with leaves, old computers and boxes...then almost a full day of replacing low voltage lights around the pool...needed to be done and I was dreading it, was a tough one but got it done. They do look good lit up tonite!

We have an RV.Net rally guest weekend coming up, one guy comes in tomorrow and another couple comes in on Saturday. The couple is only here till Monday, our solo guest not sure, hope for the week!

Anyway, keep up the good Spark fight!

Hi gang. It looks like we're getting some of the rain from the hurricane that's hitting Mexico. It started raining about an hour or so ago and doesn't seem to want to stop. Nothing major though, just rain.

Had a pretty busy morning, but this afternoon have just been sitting here once I got my work done.
Well, it's about time for the races and people are starting to come in, so I'd better get off of here. Chat later.

Good Morning Gang ...

Nothing special on my "Do List" today. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I'll come up with something.

I got up this morning and turned on the TV out of habit. It's a miracle! The satellite receiver is working again. Hubby said not to cancel the replacement receiver ... it's better to pay $15.00 for a replacement receiver than to hold on to one that was out of service for 24 hours for no apparent reason. He figures the problem will probably come up again and we might as well start fresh. I'm okay with that.

Sharon ... I think you're spot on about me not seeing my father regularly making it more difficult to grasp that he is gone. I don't talk to my brother daily, but usually speak to him at least once a week. Of course, those conversations were more frequent when my father was ill ... Joe, to his everlasting credit, called me every time there was a new development and always kept me in the loop. PTS is holding up well. There was a strong bond of affection between my father and my son; he really doesn't care for his paternal grandfather at all. He feels like he lost his only grandfather. He hopes to come to California with me in August ... he thinks he can get bereavement leave of 5 days from UPS, and since he works Monday - Friday that means he'll be able to fly out with us on Sunday the 8th or Monday the 9th and return with us the following weekend.

Ruthann ... Your good weather forecast for 4th of July weekend sounds wonderful ... hopefully we will have good weather too. But with the "three day rule" (the time it usually takes for your weather to reach me) I'm afraid it won't happen that way.

I better sign off and find something to do with myself. I hope everyone has a great Spark day!

Good morning:

Terrie: The sun is out and we should be hitting about 65 degrees today. LISTEN UP! July 5th will be in the 70's. Right on time. Really great weather forecast after that.

We receive our Awning today. We bought for our back deck. I hope it works. It seems like everything for the outdoors this year is twice as much as last year. Plants are getting ridiculous. The awning wasn't too bad we found it on line for $149 but after the shipping it was close to $200. We like the awning to get out of the hot weather. (tee hee if we get some) And it has netting on the sides if we eat out on the deck and screen off the bee's.
Well off to line dancing. I am on a roll of eating right and moving more.
Sharon: This week end is a challenge for me also. Two BBQ's in a row. Drinking lots of water....

Good Morning!

I'm looking forward to hearing about everybody's day today. As for me, now that my trip to Shipshee is behind me, I will be concentrating on getting organized and packed for our 4th of July campout.

Arlene - According to Terrie you have your mother in a good nursing home. I hope she is adjusting mentally as well as physically. Her mental attitude will go a long way in her recovery.

Gerry - that was a great night of bowling! It won't be long and your team will be #1.

Terrie - I hope you are having a good day as yesterday would have been difficult for anyone. I think because your father lived in CA and you didn't get to see him often, makes the reality of his death so hard to grasp. Are you in daily contact with your brother? How is PTS doing. I know he really wanted to be able to go visit his Grandpa one more time. Thanks for mentioning about your SP issues! I better go check and see if my messages posted afterall.

Good Evening All

I've tried to keep myself busy all day so as not to dwell on the fact that my father's remains were scheduled to be cremated today. Little by little his death is becoming more real to me. I'm doing okay, but am not my usual, "just barely super".

Sharon I was having the same problems with Spark People yesterday evening. Not long after I started here I had a similar problem and kept trying to post a message on one of my teams. The next day I found the same message posted over and over again 13 times! Since then I shy away from posting messages when I'm having problems with the Spark site and just stick to logging my nutrition and fitness entries, reading articles, etc.

Arlene I am familiar with Trinity Nursing Home, and for what it's worth I think it's one of the better nursing homes in Minot. My volunteer work has taken me to all the nursing homes at one time or another and there are a couple I wouldn't put Rusty in, let alone a real, human person. I won't mention which ones those are here to stay away from any liability issues. I'm glad your mother will be getting physical and occupational therapy. Both are essential elements to recovery. Enjoy Jenny's concert on the capital steps (fingers crossed the weather holds for you) and I hope you see improvement in your mother when you get home.

Jacque Calm is good, especially after the accident yesterday. I'll have to log in to Facebook to check out the pictures of your truck.

Gerry Good bowling as usual. What's this about getting into the top 10? I thought you were up in the top three! I must be thinking of a different league.

Our satellite receiver went out. When we turned the TV on this morning to watch the news there was a message that said the system was rebooting and we shouldn't touch the power switch or unplug the receiver until the screen cleared. It still hadn't cleared at 5:30 this evening (12.5 hours later) so I called Dish. They ran through some trouble shooting with me and eventually decided I need a new receiver. Wouldn't you know I just cancelled the maintenance contract two months ago? Now it's going to cost me $15.00 in shipping costs to get the new receiver. Oh well. It's a good thing I signed up for Netflix just before I left for summer camp. Now I can watch movies on the big TV in the living room and watch the news from the downstairs TV (near my computer) or on the TV in my bedroom.

I can't stop yawning so I better head for bed.

Yikes! Great night bowling tonight on position night...I was beating the "kids" on my team the first two games, and we won...then they stepped it up the last game and beat me and we won again!

I shot a 228/256/198=682 series...my nephew beat me with a 683, but most important we won 7 on the first position night of two scheduled.

I'm guessing we moved into the top 10 after tonight!

Hope everyone here on the RV Enthusiasts team is surviving, seems like we have a lot of issues currently occupying our time and thoughts...be well!

Well, it looks like everyone has had a good day today. Mine has been pretty calm after yesterday.

Sharon, yes the truck can be fixed. It's still drivable, so until I can get the claims adjuster to get with me and then get estimates, I still have something to drive. I'm hoping once I put it in the shop it won't take too long to get it back out.
I'm doing pretty good. I don't hurt nearly as much today as I was afraid I would. thank goodness.

Arlene, I'm glad you got your mom settled. I hope all the therapy gets her back on her feet soon.
I don't think that there are any firework displays here in our town, but I have heard of some in the area. The kids will be gone, so I don't know that we'll even try to find any. while they are pretty, I really don't care if I go out and watch them or not. We'll see what happens.

Well, have a good evening all.

Hi Everyone,
well I got mom moved to the nursing home today, Terrie I think you asked which one, it's Trinity Nursing home on 3rd St. Minot's small enough so Terrie will know which one I'm talking about. She was doing pretty good tonight. Just doing lots of running because of the Lasix, she doesn't like that but also knows it's important. Tomorrow they'll access her for PT and OT. She's very weak yet after a whole week of laying in bed and some of that time was pretty tramatic too. Say prayers for us that things will go and that there will be no more bleeding. I don't know how much more she could handle of that and she is no candidate for any surgery.

Terrie - Let's hope they're wrong about the weather. I haven't really heard any forecasts, mainly because I haven't been watching any TV or listening to any radio. Jenny's concert on the 4th is on the Capitol building steps so rain would not be nice.

Sharon - Isn't that frustrating when these things don't work. I'm always amazed at how we've become dependent on these machines, I'm as bad as anyone. I also didn't think I'd use my cell as much as I do, I've really put it to use with mom being in the hospital and keeping in touch with family. It sounds like you had a fun day shopping with the Spark friends.

Jacque - They can't have fireworks on the park where we will be camping this weekend but since it's kind of in the country by the river there are all kinds going off around that we can watch even after we come back from watching the big show the put on after the Symphony concert. I hope you feeling better and aren't too sore.

Ruthann - I'm feeling for you and your weather. Earlier this summer/spring we were feeling that way but now it's warming up pretty good. The only thing is the weather we are getting is good a creating bad weather.

Brenda - I hope things are settling down with your parents. It's an on going thing isn't it but at least we've still got them.

Well I best get something done.
Arlene

Good Evening!
I couldn't get in to Spark People last night. I kept getting the message that the website was busy. Then when I finally got in, I would type a message, email or Spark Page message and when I would post, it would say it couldn't post and go away! After several tries, I gave up.

This morning I was up at 5AM and was on my way to Shipshewana to meet 4 other Spark Friends from another team. We sat and had coffee (no food) until we were acquainted and then we went shopping. They are big in to quilting so that was our main shopping. We had lunch and shopped some more. I got back home around 7:15PM. What a perfect day - sunny, low 70's with a slight breeze. We had a lot of laughs and took pictures.

Jacque - I read on FB last night about your accident and saw the picture of your truck. I am so glad you were not seriously hurt. The truck can be repaired.

Terrie - You'll be so glad to have the windshield fixed in your MH, it won't be too big an inconvenience to have to pack Friday morning. We are also heading out in our MH on Friday again.

Ruthann - you would have been so proud of me today! I ate so good. While the others all ordered strawberry pie, I said no. I was a little worried about eating out today but I passed the day with ease.

Oh, Ruthann ... I hate it when you have bad weather because that's what I'll have in three days ... just in time for the 4th of July RVing weekend. Tom (the local TV weatherman) was telling us the weekend would be beautiful with a slight chance of showers on Saturday a few days ago. Last night he changed the forecast to add showers to Friday as well as Saturday. Gurrrr! By the time the weekend gets here we'll have gail force winds, rain, sleet and snow!

Speaking of camping vs RVing ... I bought a cute t-shirt at Camp Wilderness ... it has a picture of a tree and a tent and the saying, "Camping is In-Tents".

Jacque ... At least the rain won't interfere with any emoticon displays. None are done at Downstream so there is nothing for the rain to mess up. Are there any displays put on down your way?

Good morning everyone:

Still overcast here. Jackets in the morning. I was so cold after line dancing yesterday I sat in the chair with a blanket and Cha Cha in my lap and fell asleep. I haven't been sleeping well, but last night was a lot better. I feel better this morning. Too many people to please on the week ends, I guess.
This week end is 2 BBQ's Thinking of what to bring to both. I must keep thinking LOOW or Sharon will beat me up....What would I do with out her.

Well must get breakfast and off to line dancing.
Have a great day and think of our high today in the mid 60's and dreary skies.

Good Morning All

I spent a couple hours yesterday digging around looking for my son's shot record. Only the Lord knows where it got to. It used to be kept in the bookcase over my dresser, but it's not there now, and I can't find it anywhere. The last time I actually remember having it in my hands was when we registered PTS for college in April '09. I'll continue the hunt today; I just don't know yet where to look.

Brenda It sounds like your brother-in-law needs a good dose of your red haired temper I call it a "Flare of Red" when my temper takes off. That doesn't happen very often though. I spent years learning to control my temper and have it pretty well under control these days.

Jacque Sorry to hear your truck got banged up, but I'm glad you're moving okay this morning. I hope the hot shower loosens you up and I sure hope the SUV driver had insurance! When I worked at the police department I was amazed at how many people don't even carry liability insurance. It's especially frustrating when the driver without insurance hits someone who only had liability insurance on their vehicle. Then the driver who wasn't at fault is stuck because their insurance doesn't cover their own vehicle.

Arlene I'm so sorry to hear your mother had to go to a nursing home for rehab. Which one did she go to? I know this was hard for you but not all trips to a nursing home are permanent. Hopefully they will be able to help your mother get back to being healthy enough and strong enough to live in her own home again. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy your family outing in Bismarck.

We're going to Downstream for the 4th of July weekend. I'm sure I'll enjoy this trip more than I enjoyed the last two I love that campground but was on edge during our last two trips there because of the lack of cell phone coverage. This time I won't be worried about missing an urgent call from my brother regarding my father.

The glass place PTF contacted regarding our motorhome windshield called and said the windshield is in so we'll be dropping the motorhome off there after work today. They will install the windshield on Wednesday then it can't be moved for 24 hours, so PTF will pick it up after work or Thursday. I'm getting things organized and ready to load, but won't get a chance to put anything in the motorhome until Thursday night and we're leaving Friday around noon.

Have a great Spark Day!

Good morning all. I hope everyone is doing well today.
I'm up and moving, although a little slower than my normal morning pace. I'm feeling better than I thought I would today. I'm a little sore, but not really much more than I have been in the past. I'm gonna hop in a hot shower here in a few minutes. That should help things tremendously.
I hope everyone has a great day. I'll check in later and see how everyone's day is going.

Going to check in quickly tonight.
As most of you know most of my days the last week have been spent sitting at the hospital. Today was pretty emotional. We had to get mom into a nursing home for rehab. She of course wanted nothing to do with that idea so there were lots of phone calls. As my sister says we "had an intervention". By tonight she seemed to be better about it. At noon today I was not a very popular person with her. But I told my siblings they had to step up and give me some support. The good thing is my sister is coming in on Saturday noon and will be here till next Wednesday. So that will give me a break and we will be able to go on our family outing in Bismarck. I have tied up in knots about the whole situation but the part of being in the nursing home and Marcy being here has made it more bearable.

Terrie - Good to see you back. Sounds like you had a great camping experience.

Jacque - I hope you're okay. You'll need another of those massages.

Brenda - I fully understand about feeling like you have no support or help. I get that feeling and I only have my mother to take care of.

Well I better get to bed, mornings have really come early lately. I try to be at the hospital by 8:00 am. just in case she doesn't feel like ordering breakfast so I can make sure she doesn't put it off till too late.

Well, it looks like everyone has had a busy day today. Mine was busy, but not good.
I was in an accident in my truck this afternoon. I was pulling out of Taco Bell and a SUV swerved around and hit me and another car. It messed my whole front quarter panel and front bumper up. I'm OK, I'm sore and my neck is getting stiff but, I'll be fine in a few days. I had ice on it earlier and will put some on it again in a little while. The truck is still drivable, but it's a mess.
I hope you all have a great evening.

Hi Gang ...

It's good to be back ... thank you for all the welcomes.

My hammock was great! Everyone referred to my tent as my "condo" because of the hammock and the storage shelf under it. I also placed my camp chair inside the tent and used it as a make shift night stand. My tent was always neat and tidy because I had storage room other than the middle of the tent floor.

We had a bit of a scare on Monday evening. The weather spotters saw a funnel cloud in the area so we were all sent to our shelters. A tent doesn't provide any protection in a storm! Our shelter was about 1/2 mile away in the Cub Scout camp dining facility. It was quite a hike from our camp site, down a rather steep slope on a muddy trail then up the sledding hill behind the Cub Scout camp. My knee was clicking in and out of place going up the hill. It was a rough climb but I made it. When the all clear was sounded I elected to walk back to our camp site the long way, along the main road into the Boy Scout camp. The road was easier to negotiate than the sledding hill.

I'm looking forward to going back to summer camp next year. I hope to achieve one of the goals I failed to reach this year ... passing my BSA Swim Test. As you may recall, I signed up for three adult swimming classes and all three were cancelled. Hopefully I'll have better luck next year. Another goal I have set for myself next year is to climb the fire tower. There are 109 stairs and five platforms along the way, making it a total of 114 steps to the top. I have an issue with heights ... make that a big fear not just an issue. Beyond that my only goal is to assist the scouts earn their summer camp merit badges, help them with their knots and help the other adult leaders keep all the scouts in line.

PTS is en route to the base hospital for his BSA Physical. He needs it to go on the High Adventure canoe trip to the boundary waters in Ely, MN in July/August. He will be there while I am at Jambo. He was supposed to get it done while I was at summer camp, but on the drive to camp I remembered that I hadn't downloaded a BSA Physical form for him. There were a lot of things on my "Do List" that didn't get done last couple days before I left for camp. I called home at a rest stop along the way and left a message for PTS to cancel the appointment he had for his physical and to reschedule it for after I got home.

I did the write up for my final Wood Badge ticket yesterday and put it in the outgoing mail this morning. My ticket counselor should have it before the week's end and hopefully he'll contact me and let me know if the write up is okay as is or if it needs some tweaking. My initial goal was to have my Wood Badge beads before I left for Jambo, and in a sense I have achieved that goal. Now that I've completed all five tickets (projects) I could have the beads awarded before I leave, but have decided to wait for the other two ladies who rode to the training with me. We want to get the beads together at the district's Fall Camporee the weekend after Labor Day. I called them both yesterday to let them know I had just finished my final write-up and encourage them to get going on theirs.

Arlene ... I'm sorry to hear your mother is not doing well. Having dealt with my father's medical issues all year I have a feeling of what you're going through. I hope she is doing better.

Jacque It sounds like you had a good time yesterday. It's just as well that Robby prefers his own bed; it sounds like you saved a bundle by not staying in the over priced rooms. All that matters is that you enjoyed your day and got home safe and sound.

Sharon We don't have a Costco here either, but there is a Sam's Club down in Bismarck. We don't have a membership there the long drive would wipe out any savings we would have making our purchases. I've shopped in both stores as a guest and really like them; wish there was one closer than 120 miles away.

Ruthann That's a good looking group of line dancers! I'm glad the weather held for you. It must take quite a while to check out 400 cars. It would take my about 15 minutes since I'd just walk past each one, but for someone like Larry who inspects every car it must take forever.

Brenda I'm glad your parents are doing well, but am sorry to hear about your Mother-In-Law. You're right your brother in law has a lot of nerve asking his mother for gas money while she's being treated in the ER! I just can't imagine such a thing.

I guess I better get going. It's amazing how much stuff piles up around here when I go out of town!

Good Morning Team!

Terrie - Welcome Back! We missed you and you have been in our thoughts. I'm glad you had someone to openly share your grief with while you were gone. Some time when you least expect it, the reality of losing your father will hit and hit hard. It took me almost six months before it hit me. When it does, we'll be here to support you. And yes, we are all waiting to hear how the hammock worked out!

Jacque - we seem to be at the opposite ends of the spectrum with weather. We are supposed to be dry all week and decent temps with low humidity! We're due as we have had a lot of rain and humidity. I enjoyed hearing about your date with Robby for the bullriding! It sounds like every thing was fun but boy what a late date - lol

Brenda and Arlene - you both have my sympathy and concern with your parents. It is difficult to keep up with all the running and emotional stress.

Ruthann - It's good to hear we are both refocusing on eating less as it will pay off, especially for you with all your line dancing. It's been so hot and humid here, it gave me a chuckle to read you had to wear jackets at the car show!

Good morning team:
Car show had over 400 cars and the weather held out everyone had jackets on, but better than fanning yourself all day. It was good to see old friends again.
Today back to line dancing and exercise and EATING RIGHT. For some reason I have been ignoring the eating part. I now focused and hope to be on my way to smaller jeans.
If you didn't get to see the new picture This was taken Saturday of my favorite line dancing group. I have 2 by the way. This is my Monday Wednesday and Friday group. There are different people in our Tuesday and Thursday group. There are conflicts between the two teachers so needless to say the groups suffer for it. Why is everything so political?

Terrie: It is great for your brother to realize you need great memories of you dad. The last time I saw my dad I remember the biggest hug ever and the words "I love you". I did not get to go to the funeral because it was just me and my son and I was trying to make ends meet. My brother never forgave me for not being there. I think he is better now that I tried to make him understand. OH well life is hard at times so I try to hang on to the happy parts.

Good morning all. I hope you have a great day.

Arlene, I'm glad your mom is feeling better, I hope that they are able to find out where the problem is and have a quick easy fix that she can tolerate. Make sure you are getting your rest so you can hold up to the stress of it all.

Brenda, I'm sorry to hear you're having multiple problems with all the parents. It's hard enough to have one parent in bad health, but to have to take care of 3 of them has got to be tough. Make sure you get all the rest you need too.

I have to take Bobby to see his PO this morning at his office. I usually only have to take him downtown here in town when he sees him, but the kids are going to Tulsa for the 4th and he has to get travel papers, so we'll be heading to a little town about 25 miles from here this morning. It's not a big deal just a little time consuming. If that doesn't take too long, I'll take Jasmyne to the library too. We've been planning on going every week since she got out of school and either one the or the other has gotten in the way.

I hope everyone else has a great day today. It looks like we'll be getting rain most of the week, off and on. There is a tropical storm in the gulf, looking like it'll turn into a hurricane. It's set to hit Northern Mexico, so we shouldn't see anything, but some rain from it.

Well, guess I'd better get off of here and get ready to go.

Good evening, good morning...
We have spent the day checking up on my parents they are fine then to his Moms took her to express care with her legs hurting with pain she has cellultis and it was getting bad but express care told us to take her to ER and they will admit her just got home at 15 til 12P.M and ate supper, Mike is relieved now knowing she will be taken care of and in good hands it will give him a break also.

His brother was to take her in while we took care of my parents but he fiddled to long on what he was doing and we beat him over at his moms when we got to the Er the first thing he said was he needed to get $$$ for gas from Mom that he did not have any $$$ I just thought what nerve asking at a time like this!!!

Well going to go we are totally beat talk to you all Monday. thanks for listening to my venting Brenda

Hi All,
I'm home after another long day at the hospital. I try to get there early because she seems to be more willing to get started and ordering her breakfast if I'm there. Tho this morning she surprised me and was sitting up and eating her breakfast when I walked in. This afternoon was tough tho, the Dr. took out the line they had in her groin. Her hemo numbers have come up real good and hopefully where ever the bleeding was it is starting to heal. Just not sure where she has been bleeding. They did one test and have mentioned that there is another one that may be done but we have to take her to Bismarck, ND. They only problem is, can they fix what ever may be the problem. She's not a good candidate at all for surgery. It's all been pretty overwhelming because I'm so afraid that she won't be able to withstand what ever comes up. The mini shock she went into on the day they put the lines in was pretty scary.

Well I best get to bed since I'll head to the hospital early tomorrow again.

Hi all and welcome back Terrie.
We had a great time yesterday. We left about 1:30 and drove over to Lake Charles. Went to the L'auberge du lac casino. A really nice place. We stayed there and played for a couple of hours. We wanted to stay there last night but they were sold out. That is where the bull riding recommended. The casino was sponsoring the bullriding. We drove over to the coliseum and checked out all the little vendors set up there. The program was really a long one. It started at 7:30 and didn't end until 11. The bull rider whose invitational this was is retiring and these were his final rides, so they did a bunch of special stuff in addition to the regular bull riding. I've taken a few pics but haven't downloaded them off of my phone yet. I'll try and post some when I do.
We went ahead and came on home last night, Robby doesn't like to sleep anywhere other than his own bed anyway and the hotels were over priced. We got home about 2AM.

Terrie, I'm glad you had a good time while you were gone and had someone there who knew what you were going through and was able to support you. I don't know about how long it will take for your dad's death to register. I hope you know that you have all the support we can offer you at any time you need it. How did the hammock work for you?

Sharon, it sounds like you've had a good day today. We don't have any Costo's around here. I think I've only ever been in 1 before, while I was in Oregon a couple of years ago. Now we do have Sam's clubs. I don't have a membership and it has never really been much of a benefit for me.

Gerry, it sounds like you had a good time even with the light turnout.

Ruthann, I hope the rain stayed away and your car show was a big success.

Have a good night all.

I'm back! The troop arrived at Camp Wilderness Saturday evening, set up camp and got ready for the week to come. Summer camp was interesting ... you get to know the scouts on a completely different level than interacting with them at weekly troop meetings. I also had the opportunity to complete the 21 knots and three splices required for Knotmaster. Becoming a troop Knotmaster was the fifth and final ticket I had to complete for my Wood Badge Beads.

Father's Day was hard. Sunday at morning flag the camp staff put on a special program honoring all fathers. Every night at 10:00P the bugler blew "Taps" ... that was hard too. I told the other adults on the trip about my father's passing, but didn't want to share it with the kids. I had to take a couple walks in the woods during the week to center myself. One of the other adults in the group had lost her father in April and the two of us were each other's support system since it was our first Father's Day without a living father.

Somehow my father's death hasn't really hit me yet. I suppose it will become all too real when I go to California to attend his memorial service. That has all been set up now ... it will be the 10th of August at the Veterans Cemetery in Riverside, CA. I remember when my Grandma Ferguson died. My parents were living in California and I was stationed in Maine. I drove down for the funeral and my mother flew in from California. We met at the funeral home and when my mother saw her mother in the casket she let out the most blood curdling scream I have ever heard. I think the realization had finally hit her. Eventually my father's death is going to hit me too ... I just don't know when.

My father's remains haven't been cremated yet. There was a backlog at the crematorium. His remains are scheduled to be cremated on the 29th of June. I think it's always going to bother me that I didn't get to see him one last time, but my brother says he looked so different after the cancer treatments that I am better off remembering him the way he was when I last saw him on his 90th birthday during our trip home in Dec '08.

Thank you, from the bottom is my heart, to all of you who have expressed condolences, shared stories about the loss of a parent or sent prayers and good wishes my way. I was blessed to have my father for 56 years, which is longer than some people. I have many memories to look back on, and although most of those memories bring tears right now, I'm sure the day will come when I'll be able to smile when I think of them.

May you always have

Hi Everyone!
We got up and went for breakfast at IHOP this morning. I was good and ordered one pancake and their fresh fruit bowl - yum and no guilt. Then we went to Costco before coming home.

Gerry - I enjoyed both your slide shows. I would have enjoyed the rally. One day we'll have a rally with this team! The fishing trip looks like a relaxing fun day. I've never heard of a Fluke so that was interesting.

Brenda - our Costco trip cost me $156. but we don't go very often. I bought several items to take to the campground with us so I probably won't even eat them. Wow! I guess you didn't enjoy your country music show. Was it mesquito's or sand fleas that were biting you? We've run in to both and neither are pleasant.

Ruthann - nice picture of your line dancing group wearing great hats - lol. I hope the weather is nice for you today while you are out selling tickets. That should put some steps on a pedometer. I'm back to wearing mine (only one since it's working fine even though I took it swimming)

Hay, don't have much time. I need to be at our car show at 6:30 am. So I will be walking the main street for 8 hours selling tickets for prizes that the people in the town gives to us for the historical society.
It is our first car show and it looks like a pretty decent day.

Check out the new picture of us line dancing yesterday at the Relay for life. It was fun...

Back home in one piece, got in around 10:00 pm...long but fun NJ SparkRally day, will get a photo album published tomorrow...no pictures of me though! Other people took some but not sure where they will end up...

We ended up with about 12 people in the 95 degree heat, somewhat disappointed with the 10 or so people who never showed, but such is life.

Hope everyone here on the RV Enthusiasts team had/are having a good day.

Pool never felt better than tonight when I got home!

Good Evening!
I just tried to go for a walk and I gave up after only about 1/2 mile. The mesquito's are horrible tonight and I was upset. At least I got lots of arm exercise batting them away. I guess I waited to go too late so tomorrow I'll head out earlier.

Linda - We also have a 40th Birthday party for my DIL on 7/3. She's just a pretty little thing that it's difficult to reconcile the fact that she's turning the big 4 0.

I think we are going to make a trip to Costco tomorrow too. It's about 45 minutes from our house but worth the trip once in awhile.

Hi, Our weather here is finally looking like summer. We headed to Costco this morning to load up on some groceries. We will leave for about four days to one of our favorite RV sites close by . Then we must come home again as our son and DIL will be arriving to stay with us for a couple of nights. We have one of our sons 40th BD over the long weekend to attend. How did these kids of ours get so old. lol
I want to get out and do some watering in the garden so my new plants don't keel over while I am gone.
Cheers, Linda

Looks like everyone is having a fun filled day.

Jacque - enjoy your date day with Robbie. I'm glad you get to leave work early.

Brenda - That is scary with your Mom. It appears both you and Mike's mom is having a lot of health issues. We only have Norm's mom to worry about and at 93 she is still going strong.

Ruthann - I'm glad the hats are working out. It was fun shopping that day! Enjoy the line dancing.

Gerry - I KNOW you'll be having a fun day! Lots of pictures, please!

Set up was about 2 hours, but fun...not so much fun breaking it all down, it's like a weekend camping trip prep and breakdown times 10 in six hours!

Good Morning, Gerry Have a good time they are lucky to have you get every ready for your event.

Suppose to have a heat advisory this afternoon heat index in the 100- 105 range.

Took Mom to Dr yesterday did well walking with the walker in the dr office and out, we decided to go to Aldis for a few things Dad was with us also. Mom walked in fine got down half way down the first aisle and I told her a couple times to stop and wait for dad will she did but then all sudden I saw her left leg shaking and trying to go down it was weird like her leg had a seizure, so someone got security to get me a chair with rollers so I could roll her around till we got done and part way to the car. She did fair get to the car and back in the house But BOY did it scare me and we just left the DR and everything was fine. maybe just to much in one day. Got them home paid a few bills for Dad and fixed them supper before I left so at least I know they had something good to eat.

Mike's Mom has been taking Trimadol for pain and boy she is so disorientated.. getting night and day mixed up and acting all wrong he told her to stop taking it and take tyenol I think she finally realized what it was doing to her and said she will stop...

Well going to go taking the soda cans in for recycling and have a few things to get done before it heats up.

Have a safe healthy day and have fun stay cool, Brenda

Well yesterday was a funny day.
We went to walk for the "Relay for life" at 7:30 am and when we got there no one was there. It was raining but we were still wondering if we wanted to get wet before line dancing. My girl friend Nancy read the directions wrong. We still had a fun morning together before line dancing. When we got to line dancing our instructor broke her arm and we only got in 1 hour today. So I came home and dug 2 big roots from the front lawn that we are going to seed. We are almost there to put down the seed and watch it grow.
Today is the big day of everyone getting dressed up in their new t-shirts and new hats (I bought in Yuma, Thanks Sharron for helping me pick them out)We should look A-OK. They wanted to wear the hats in case it rained. No sun yet, overcast with gray skies. It is suppose to be in the 70's later on today.
Must go everyone have a great week end.

Good morning gang. This will be a short post, just wanted to pop in and tell everyone to have a great weekend. Got to get ready and get in to work a little early, so I'll have all my stuff done and be ready to go when Robby is. We'll probably take off at about 2.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I probably won't check back in until sometime tomorrow.

Well, it looks like everyone had a good day today.

Sharon, you had your date day today. It looks like I'll be having one tomorrow. We're gonna take off tomorrow, early afternoon and head over to Lake Charles and go to a bull riding event. Robby has been hashing over all week if he wanted to go or not and after looking at the roster of riders today he told me to go ahead and get a couple of tickets. When I got them ordered and went over to the office to get them off the printer, the boss told me to go ahead and take off and go with him. We'll both go in and work in the morning and then take off. I'll get everything ready for tomorrow nights races. I've got one of the valets to sit in for me in the evening. He's done the job before, so knows how to handle everything.

The salesman we're dealing with called me this afternoon. He said the paperwork should be to the point early next week where they will be able to order our house. He was calling to let me know he would be on vacation until Friday, but that if they called us, we could call him anytime. So we're getting closer.

Well, I guess I'll wind this down. Have a great night and weekend all.

Enjoy your weekend, RV Enthusiasts!

I'll be getting out of here tomorrow around 8:30 am to head for our 2nd annual NJ SparkRally, thanks for all the well wishes. Only about a 40 minute ride. I will be online from the event.

I'm sure things will go well, I've got most everything covered, and I've run this type of event before, no worries!

Having the RV sure makes it easier, especially since I keep most of what I need in the RV all the time. I may even stay overnight there, depends on what happens.

It will be a little more crowded in the aisle for the trip out...I usually don't have a large "community" cooler, a smaller cooler and two banquet tables in the kitchen! I also have two cases of water and one case of Gatorade strapped into the passenger seat.

I've got the large grill and five folding chairs strapped down on my carry platform on the back hitch, usually don't have that either!

Nancy decided not to go, so I'll have to handle the set up and take down myself, no problem.

Stay cool!
