I agree. I love my Garmin. It also let's you customize your screen. I set mine to show my pace, cals burned, distance, and time of day on the first screen. Mine let's you customize up to 3 different screens and you just need to hit the mode button on the side to switch between them. The only thing with mine is that in never seems to find the satelite in front of my house. Once I get to the corner though all is good to go. Enjoy!

Thanks, that's good to know!

I have a pedometer. It's really cheap, and incredibly inaccurate, so I never use it.

The Garmins sound so cool. I'm going to have trouble deciding which one I want.

I have a Garmin Edge 205. I use it on all my bikes, and I run with it. It does show time. As well as elapsed time of the activity, elevation, % of grade, shows your directions of travel, etc.. it does have the alarms. I love mine, it is very accurate. I tried pedometers.. what a joke. My garmin is fantastic. I use it daily, either running or biking.

Hi all,

From previous threads here it seems that several of you have one of these.

I was looking at Garmin's website today and saw that several of their gadgets let you set alarms so you know when you've gone a certain distance or have dropped below a certain speed. Does anyone know how accurate that is? If I want to run 3 miles, will it stop me at 2.5 or let me go to 3.5?

And most of the features charts say "no" under the "sport watch" category - does that mean it won't tell me what time of day it is?

Thanks! It'll be a long time before I seriously consider getting one--I'd use my SP reward money and that's at less than $2 right now because I just got my iPod--but knowing I'm working towards a specific cool item is motivating.
