I know this is an other thread but...

I have a 305 and I use it every day. The only issue I've had is that GPS is not 100% accurate. You will get an idea of how fast you are going but it's not perfect. I used it on my last 1/2 marathon I ran and the Garmin showed I only travelled 12.3 miles on a certified course.
That being said you can customize your view of what you see and it's downloadable and you can stack graphs and monitor elevation etc. It will also get you back if you get lost.

Respect the distance, cherish the reward.

I have a Forerunner 305 and I love it. I have never owned a Polar product so I am not sure how they compare on the road. I looked up the features and really liked the Forerunner 305 the best. I like gadgets. I started out using the HRM but haven't used it much this winter because I already have to have so much clothing on that it is a pain. I may start using it again soon. I just bought my 305 after Christmas this past year.

I have a Polar F11 I used for the last year. I did get a Forerunner 305 for Christmas, but me, the tech idi and so busy at work have not used it yet. So, if you get one, let me know all the techy shortcuts, so I get going.... I figured once the weather is nicer, my injury at bay... it'll be Christmas all over again!

Thanks! After looking some more I think I may get the 305 or the 405 instead of the 205 and just use the new one to replace my polar - I will give my husband my polar - ha!!

Thank you so much for the info.....

Happy running ;)

I just got the forerunner 205. I don't really feel the need for a HRM, so this model works nicely. It helps push me to see my mileage and current pace when outside. It's easy to use (I tried ti for the first time yesterday, and it worked fine, even though I haven't used any advanced functions).

If no HRM is fine with you, this model is great.

Question - does anyone here use a Forerunner for their heart rate monitor??

I use polar now and love it - I can not workout with out it! But I was looking at the different models of the forerunners - mostly 205 - and was interested in getting one.

Any thoughts???
