Here's the info about the C25k plan

I got through it listening to the podcast... you can find it on iTunes (search for Podcasts for Running) or go here:

www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/

Hope that's helpful!

I just got home from a spinning class - ate a salad because I was starving - but I think I'll go take a nice hot shower before I get dinner going. That class wore me out today... I'm looking forward to my bed already, and it's only 6:30!! :o)

good tip PKONCIUS. Right now it is cold in the mornings (the only time I have to run because it is dark when I get home from work). Wearing a fleece vest may keep me warmer (and motivate me to run more in the mornings!)

Okay, dumb question perhaps, but I looked on the Couch to 5K team, but could not find the "program." Our newest member mentioned an interest....could someone post that program here?

Thanks--Anne

Ok, am I wierd?? I don't get blisters...wonder why? Could be what Strongnhappy said...I drink TONS of water...hmmmm. Maybe it was all that bag work in my karate days....

And I just wear leggins and that usually helps the chaffing fun! I have noticed that with losing the weight they are not rubbing as much as they used too....

Blisters on your feet can mean you are not drinking enough fluids before, during, and after your workout too. Sounds strange but it is totally true! Try upping your water intake or mixing in a little gatoraid with your water to replace electrolytes.

I have the Adidas & Prospirit mid-weight ankle socks.

You may know this already, but it may not be the socks! I recently found out I had been buying shoes too small. The clerk at the Dick's Sporting goods, let me know I should be buying shoes one size larger than shoes I do not run in, since your feet swell. It has made all the difference. I had been getting blisters, but not anymore. I love my Sauconys.

Have you tried smartwool socks? I've heard lots of good things about them? I have a few pairs myself, but I usually wear some moisture wicking socks from Target (cheaper!).

that reminds me... i am desperate for tips on avoiding blistered toes!!!

probably my socks... I switch between a danskin sock and underarmour...

they are thinner weight... the thicker are not quite right for me...

Claudia--The ultimate way I will know I've reached my weight loss goal, is when my inner thighs no longer rub together!!! I have 12 pounds to go (I am 5'6")

Thanks StrongNHappy for the Road ID coupon. I got a gift certificate from my brother for Christmas for a Road ID -- BUT I won't get it until I am a bit more settled and that won't be happening for a few more months! I'll be moving in March and maybe again within another year -- I can't WAIT until I am no longer a NOMAD!!!!

As for my tips... I have to go with:
~ I wear my sports bra inside out to prevent chafing
~ I always wear spandex shorts to prevent chafing

Please tell me I'm not the only one with these chafing problems!!! (is this TMI?? haha... sorry!) I've heard good things about Body Glide, but my two tips above seem to do the trick... :o)

When I ordered, they gave me a coupon that I could pass along to my friends. Here's the coupon number:

For running outside in the snow & ice...
Yaktrax are really great. The give you really good traction and you don't even notice them because they are so light.

For those outdoor runs, I almost always run with a fleece vest on because it really keeps me warm, but when I start to over-heat I can unzip it and it cools me off...also has big pockets for gloves, keys, chapstick, whatever!

This is great---I know I will be READING these rather than writing them! But, I would say my biggest tip would be, when you fall down, try not to do it on gravel! (A little Calvin & Hobbes humor there...)

Ok, I have to say the best tip doesn't involve the treadmill (although it does help!) but it is support...support of your family and friends. I know that I have called my palsie Crocket several times for alittle motivation!
