Ran 5 miles today on a hilly hiking trail I recently found near my home....feeling great. Also treated myself to an awesome vegan burger and sweet potato fries with vegan ranch dip at this AMAZING new vegetarian cafe I just found.

Got in a long run this week, first long one in quite some time. 14K....long for me! Actually tripped and fell down at 5K...lol, but got back up and kept trucking.

Today I woke up to snow, so did about 7K on the TM. I joined in on the monthly challenge, and posted my runs for the week. I wanted to go back and post what I had done earlier this month but its seemed like I couldnt do that. Oh well!

Hi everyone, its nice to see some activity! Hope we can keep it going :)

I didn't run today, did a fairly hard 10K yesterday with hills (which i am not use to). So, today i went to my strength training class...

cruz - good for you getting back into the routine, hope you are still at it!

Purplelabrador - Next time....you'll be ready for that 7K! Keep it up :)

Kdunn - glad that you are our new leader here...hope to get to know you (and the others!)

a mile at 100% is a good mile! WTG

It is such a beautiful day here today, the sun in out, its 5*C and no wind. I got out and did 10K, legs felt a bit heavy because I ran yesterday and went to my body toning class....but I did it and feel great!

I have yet to do a half-marathon. I ran 10.6K today, most I've ever gone is 12K. I would love to give it a try sometime. Did you use a program to train for it, or just wing it yourself?

No running for me today, it is our community's festival here and I saved my energy for a cycling time trial tonight. Did very well...and rode hard!
Not sure if I will get to run tomorrow, might be my "off" day...I have to work..so we'll see.

Got my run in today, thought I might not because it was giving rain (whats new?). Actually went for a swim first...and wasn't so sure I would get the run in. But...I did, and I think it was one of my better runs of the summer, I felt really good. Ended up getting rained on the last 10 minutes, but it was worth it!

I just signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle 8k in Chicago, and I'm so excited. Starting today, I added 10% to my running time - so now I'm doing 33 minutes for this week, and will keep adding accordingly. Whee!

It's been FOREVER since I posted here-BAD Anne!
BUt yesterday I ran 5 miles in just less than 1 hour, and I am very proud.
Also I am only 4 pounds from my weight goal, but more importantly than that, I feel better than I ever have.

The team here is awesome!!!

I just joined Runner's Cafe today. Was training for a half marathon this fall, did a training run of 12 with my daughter and it went downhill from there. I think it must have been burn out. Well, I took some time off - and I'm back! This time I'm starting out very easy...the Couch to 5K program. Today is my Week one Day one. I want to enjoy running and try to keep myself from the "extreme" mind set. Keeping myself doing something instead of doing nothing. I hope to see you all around on this team. Thanks for the encouragement in advance.

Hello there, long time now post! Lol.

I am back to running (now that it's cooler again, I just can't seem to do it in the summer heat) and working my way back up to 4-5 miles/day but for now its closer to 2-3 per day, 5x/wk. I am taking most of my workouts slower and my legs are thanking me for it. I am just opting to get the time out on the road and on my legs so I can get used to the time part of it (I am running the first 20 mins or so then walking the rest of 45 mins total). I am excited to be back at it! Oh hey and my town got its first snow on Friday! Lol. Go figure.

Michelle, are your knees feeling better?

Cruz4u, good luck with C25K! I'm so glad I did that program; it's a great way to get into running.

Last week I ditched my 60-min run to go hiking. This week should be a normal schedule. 30 min today felt great.

Today was my awesome run day. 60 minutes, no pain.

And SP tells me I'm way over my calories burned goal for the week. Excellent.

30 minutes today, and no pain from my calves!

And wow, was it humid. 8 am and I was drenched.

Only got in 1 mile last week, and I wasn't even supposed to do that. Hopefully I'll be able to run next week. I might get in a few cheat miles this week. Have a great day!

This week I'm doing 20-min runs. One more left, and my calves haven't been hurting, so next week it'll be 30 min and then back to normal after that.

Hi Running Buddies!

Today is a rest day for me. These are truly hard days for me. I LOVE running! So... I did .5 mile to test out my quick laces for my shoes. They are ok, but they kind of bug! I might have to cut them funny to make them work for me.

Have a great day!!!

Jenni, I can't imagine running at 5:15 in the morning! I grew up in Clear Lake, though, so I can see why you'd do it. My (Canadian-raised) husband refuses to visit there in the summer. :)

I'm just walking this week, trying to rest my calves. I miss jogging.

Jenni- I used to live in League city and then Kingwood. You have to run early in the summer.

10 rainy miles for me yesterday! There's something I love about getting nice and muddy on a run....probably flashbacks to my college days playing rugby.

130 crunches? Ow.

Also ow - my calves have been super tight for a week, after I spent 11 hrs in a car last weekend. Last week I could hardly run at all. Things were better Monday, but today I had to stop after 16 minutes. Oh well. More walking and stretching.

Dreadmill! I will do anything to NOT run on mine. It's actually been nice here the last few days-low humidity and 69 in the morning. Did 6 today and it felt nice.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Lisa-congrats on your half. My first marathon was Portland-Love the NW and miss it.

I got up did 130 cruches and ran a mile. I'm trying to make the transition from treadmill to the great outdoors. Wow - what a difference!

I know a mile's not much but I'm working on it - so that counts for something right?

Finally back in here to chat with everyone. Great job on the 1/2 marathon Lisa!!

JC-nice to see you're still at it.

I finally got out and did 3 miles yesterday. Been a bit of a slacker since I went on vacation, but I'm back on it. 1 more week before my half marathon.

Lisa, congratulations!

I've switched to morning runs, which seems to be working well. No more running through afternoon thunderstorms. :) I told my husband where I went on Saturday (my hour run) and he was impressed at how far I'd gone (over 4 miles - yes, I am a glacially slow runner, which is fine with me).
