One of this team's goals is "be creative for 15 minutes a day", so I said to myself: "Why don't combine creativity with healthy cooking?" I read this tasty recipe in SP recipes (carrot pumpkin bars) and I noticed the reduced fat that each bar contains and I thought that it could be a very creative experience to try baking my first cake!!!I am not so good in cooking, but a trial would not be so bad!!!!
So, here I am. The cake is ready and it smells really good!!!And the important is that now I think differently and I won't eat the entire cake. I will only try one small piece with a cup of warm relaxing tea!!!!
See? Who said that healthy cooking isn't creative and tasty???

Did the "Let's get rolling!" challenge on MWF this past week... It sounds pretty simple but then I did two circuits on Monday and was winded! OMG!.... oh, and I suck completely at pushups... ugg! I'm glad the challenge is about to change!

It depends on what you want to see more results in. For me, I tend to do cardio first because I really want to feel the sweat and tend to get sore after strength training and then don't do the cardio!

If you want to focus more on building your muscle, then I'd suggest strength training first.

Well, since there is so much strength training involved with this challenge, I'd give yourself a day to rest then repeat on Thursday. If we were cardio based, then it would be alright for daily. :)

so.... yeah... I got sick the first circuit on the first night... I decided that I'd try working out before dinner the rest of the week and it went better. For me that was rough. I honestly did not finish it any one night, but I did attempt it 3 different times this week.

I am doing great! Busy but good! Today I ran over a mile in under 14 minutes. I am so excited that my endurance is increasing I have really been putting effort into it! I am working full time and trying to raise a family! I am really blessed to have such a helpful hubby who cooks while I play on Sparkpeople! What would I do without him? I dont know!

I'm trying to buy a house, so add that to 45 hours at work and then the start of rehearsals for the community theatre, and I just couldn't seem to find the time.... Challenge Name: Too much of a good thing...

I avoided HFCS as best I could this week. I read every label before I bought to see if it was there. There were a couple of items I couldn't find substitutes for so I only bought the if I really needed them.

After only one week, I feel so much better! I don't have as much blood sugar swings and my sweets cravings have reduced noticeably!

Challenge Name: Love me, love me not...

I love my back the most (I see it as a beautiful canvas with unlimited potential), so I made sure to take care of it this week.

I made sure it got enough moisturizer after showers, I did lower back stretches and strengtheners, and while I was filing and carrying boxes around at work this week, I made sure to use proper form to prevent injury.

I had sushi two times this week. One time I even tried a raw fish preparation. Not my favorite due to texture issues, but it had great flavor. i may give it another try sometime in the not-too-near future.

I set a goal of 15 minutes of stretching each day and 30 minutes of either cardio or strength each day.

I did do the stretching but I didn't accomplish the cardio/strength every day. I will try again next week.

I have to admit that I didn't accomplish this challenge.

I did stretch everyday for brief amount of time. i got really sick and had a lot of issues with work that stressed me out. I'm going to get back on track.

Challenge Name: Getting a Fresh Start
Date: 1/3/09 - 1/9/09

Here's how I did:

Do 30 minutes of cardio on 6 days this week
I made it for 5 out of 6.

Drink 8 cups of water every day this week.
I made it all week with at least 8 cups of water.

Eat 5 servings of vegetables and/or fruits every day this week.
Thanks to smoothies for breakfast I got that done except for Saturday.


My hardest thing was eating the 5 servings of fruits and vegetables. If I hadn't had smoothies, I probably would not have made it every day. I did have a couple of other items most days, but not all!
