i'm not sure I heard you won't need the converter if you have a box for the cable or direct but if you have a second tv on that box you will. I'm not sure about any of that though that web site has a spot for FAQ's it might be there

hey girls
Do we all know that tv's have to be hd in 2009 sometime? well you can buy a converter instead of a tv. guess what I was at walmart today and this lady was buying 2 of them. she had these coupons for $40 off on them. they were only about $50 anyway. so I found out she got on this website wwwdtv2009.gov and signed up for these coupons. so i did it just now and it seems legit. if you need the converter sign up.
