ok I really slacked off yesterday but as I said in another thread I had a good time yesterday and I needed that more. I did do the 50 rev crunches and 20 squats but that was it. will be picking it up today.

Hey all! Thanks for the congrats and motivation! All of you have helped me push for that 60 min.

Well, last night I did an impromptu night shift at work. I worked 7a-7p, worked out for 2 hours than laid down for 2 hours at the hospital, back up and worked 1a to 7a than a 1 1/2 drive home.

By the time I got home I was so wound up (2nd wind) and was up till noon and that was win the wind in my sails came to a complete halt. I woke up about 15 min ago (1030PM). I guess I was tired.

So say the least, I did not meet any of my challenges, however, I did get some well needed sleep!! LOL But, I still feel I could go back to sleep.

The nice thing about working since 1 am and up till Noon is that I got in 102 ounces of water in! Woohoo..

Oh yeah, I had to get scrubs from the hospital to wear so I wouldn't stink out the ER,hehe, and I fit into a size XL scrub pants. They were a little snug, but they fit! Wooohooo!!

Okay, enough babble! LOL

I am so with you on that, I tried on one of my hubby's 2x tshirts and the belly isn't tight anymore! Of course the chest still is a little! LOL
I also have my 10 minutes of exercise done, we rearranged all of the furniture in our living room and spare bedroom. My new recipe was venison (yummy). And my gallon almost done!

Guess What.. Guess What... Today was a HIIT workout day and I did "60 min" on the elliptical! Yep, you heard that right.. 60 minutes.. My legs were jello when I got off the machine, but darn I did it!

I did 30 min walking DVD.
New recipe done.
I am working on the water.
AND my + for today....my nails are growing beatifully!!!

OHH ya...what makes me happy.
When my family and my bff's family go up north to the U.P. We ride 4-wheelers, take in the fresh air, go to the beach, have bon fires and relax and have fun with each other! The best is when the kids go to sleep!!LOL We can party too!! We go about 4 times a year! Memorial day will be our first time this year, cant wait!!

What makes me happy? Wow, this is a great question/discussion Kimmie.

What makes me happy is when I walk out in the morning in spring and it is cool, bird are chirpin and the sun is rising. The smell of dew, it is quiet and I can just close my eyes and take in the surroundings. It is that perfect moment that I feel balanced in my life. It doesn't matter how stressed I am or what is going on, that solitare moment is filled with so much happiness. A true sense of being me.

My happiest memory: While living in Florida I was very close to the beach. I took my mom to the beach early evening we sat on the boardwalk and ate a slice of pizza. She was like a kid at the ocean. She walked up and down the beach with such ease. We picked up shells and my pockets were full. She would pick up feather and was very happy, the first time in a long time I seen that. As the sun went down I found her standing on the pier talking to some young surfers. She was so happy. I tear up everytime I think of that.

The ocean/sea is such an essential part of my life. I love the tropical breeze, the feeling of sand beneth my feet, the feeling of being free. I love how the waves make you feel weightless and move you. You are just one little piece of the ocean.

The other thing that makes me happy is helping others, being there for others and giving from my heart. It is so rewarding without a word said.

Okay.. that is my novel for today!

Ahhhh Thank you!! And I second you all coming with Tomie and I on a cruise. Plus I am going to Tahiti with Garber and you. Maybe we all can go to Tahiti as that is a once in a lifetime trip. That would be so much fun! We would get in so so so much trouble. 10 days of glorious waters, great eye candy (I am sure), Oh the beaches, water bungalow! I love Tahiti!!!!!

aww i love hearing all this good stuff! it is important to remember what makes us happy. what makes me happy right now is not using the shift key on the keyboard.

marilee -- helping others is a beautiful thing. i need to do more of it as well, it makes me feel good as well.

When my daughter tells me she loves me.
When Todd gives me a compliment (he's not super demonstrative, so when he gives one, it's always sincere).
When I travel.
When I'm with my parents.
Family reunions, even when they are psycho-fests.

OMG someone else who can party. I think when we all hit our goal we should get together for a cruise to the beach. mimi and i are panning one and would love to have you guys along.

ok 50/50 done dancing done to video for 15 min

positive still can't dance well but I look better doing it. lol

as for what makes me happy. Hearing my kids laugh. They have such deep all over belly laughs. I love to do things for my friends that make them feel good and know that they are important to me.
My best memories are from when I was a kid and would go riding with my dad. I remember him tying his leather jacket around me to his waist and I fell asleep (this is a LOUD harley we are talking about.) I was so mad when he took me home because I wanted to ride. He said we were out over 2 hours but I didn't know cuz I was sleeping. I think these memories are so precious because they will never be there again. I am waiting for the day I can get my own bike though and take my kids out. that will be the best ever.

Good morning. I got all of the squats, crunches, water, new receipe (o.k. it was a quick meal out of a bag but new for me), dancing, and water done for yesterday.
Todays positive - i have on jeans that I had to bring back from the dead...they fit and aren't tight at ALL! :)

What makes me happy - this is going to sound cheesy, but I'm happy when my friends are happy. I like to see and/or hear about their successes and when they have the 'I'm-so-stinkin-happy' voice, it makes me smile.
One of the best times in my life - I know Aruba comes to mind (just as Kimmie describes below) but I also have to say the time Kimmie and took a Cruise to the Mexican Rivera...the whole stinkin ship knew 'Kim and Kim'. There was another shipline going on the same stops as us and we discovered that people on THAT ship even knew our names. We were in Sr. Frogs in Matzalan and people came over to talk to us from the OTHER ship that saw us at Sr. Frogs in Puerto Villarta. I guess we know how to PARTY :)

Good morning ladies! I am awake, not sure why I am awake but I couldn't go back to sleep this morning so I got up and worked out. In fact I am drinking MORE water right now.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just a little Friday discussion but what makes you truly happy? And what is one of the best times in your life? It can be deep it can be shallow - whatever you chose.

Being in tropical weather makes me happy. I love the culture, the trade winds, the color of the water, the smell, the music -- the vibe! I am my happiest when on some island. Anybody wanna go?

One of the best times in my life that sticks out this morning was the time Garber and I were in Aruba. We cruised in early in the morning, we caught a cab down to the beach. We lied in the sun for a few hours, swam but the best part was when we decided to head over to the pier which had a bar. Sure the alcohol at the bar didn't hurt but the absolute BEST part was the friendships, the laughs, the music that were shared that afternoon. I hearted that day in Aruba.

All I can say is Brittany was a beast on that treadmill -- I also loved the Blue team who were down doing a crunch and stood up with somebody holding their feet -- WOW! Talk about inspiration. Those folks have been doing this for 9 weeks and are TOTALLY smokin!

I ate differently today. I ate no processed foods (one thing), meat, veggies, and fruit...my stomach is SCREAMING at me but I feel such much more in control. Everything in my life is such a mess right now I think being in control over what is going in my body just makes me feel better. I know sounds strange but it is working for me now.

I am so proud of you ladies. I danced to Johnny Cash " Cocaine Blues - I know not much of a dancing song but I was over visiting my grandfather and he wanted to listen to some Johnny Cash.

My positive for today is that I am in control. It is not a physical positive but it is a positive. I was telling Garber earlier on the phone that with everything that has been going on in my life recently I feel so negative, evil and the one thing I realized tonight is that I just can't focus in on other's happiness and that made me sad. Then I realized that wasn't completely true because I truly am happy for EVERY last one of you for ALL that you have accomplished in the last few weeks!

Okay - geez, shut up already!

ok 50/50 done no dancing will do 2 tomorow (had to grocery shop tonight and now it is to late people child sleeping here.
positive today is not physical but mental I know why my energy is low (recongnition is the first step to healing) and I pushed past most of it.

Okay, I did my 50/50, my water is in and am still drinking more (reving up for the challenge tomorrow) and while making my own recipe up tonight I was dancing around and sliding from side to side like that one movie, but I wasn't in my underware. Hehehe

Oh BTW, that recipe turned out so so good, spicy and yummy.

I second that, Tomie!!

Done, done and done (I tried grilled catfish last night). My + for the day - I don't get winded very easily anymore.

I loved watching Brittany on The Biggest Loser this week run, what was it? 14 mph? For 15 seconds? I felt so inspired.

Hello ladies!
Yesterdays challenge - danced, reverse crunches, gallon of water, squats.
Today's positive - My tummy is getting a little flatter :)

Funny story abt the crunches last night - I was so tired that I went to bed and was almost asleep but woke up because I realized I hadn't done the crunches for the challenge yet! SO, off to the living room floor and I got them in, the back to bed. I couldn't let you all down by not doing my challenge!!

Yesterday I drank 7 1/2 water bottles.
I did a 1 mile walk with a DVD.
I made a EXCELLENT Broiled Parmesean Tilapia (I don't even like fish).
AND today my skin looks better, my face is usually very dry, today it's OK!


Why is it soooo hard to come up with a positive thought about myself????



AND as far as the challenge goes I am sooo ready!
H2O here I go!!! LOL I made a rhyme!

emoticon Team synergy are you ready for a weekend challenge that will surely keep you hydrated and boost your energy?

Do you remember earlier this week choosing between a bee and elephant? (For those of you who didn't choose, one was chosen for ya). So is anyone wondering what the signifigance of why I chose the Bumble Bee and Elephant?

Bumble Bee: All bees are productive. They remain focused in their activities and do not get distracted from their goal. Their legs are one of their most sensitive organs. A bee actually tastes through its legs and reminds us to slow down, smell the roses and taste the sweet nectar of life.

Elephant: Elephants are focused and attentive. They are leaders and have great sensitivity to others feelings and emotions. Elephants walk almost motionenless and remind us that our size does not inhibit our ability to move and keep moving.

Both of these animals represent great strength, positive energy and motivation; which is our team.

Team Synergy has been split into two teams; Team Bumble Bee and Team Elephant starting Friday through Sunday. Why? For some friendly competition!

Team Bumble Bee is: Marilee, Garber (Kim Q), Shannon, Penny and myself.

Team Elephant is: Kimmie, Tomie, Jenn, Janel, Jona & Kawandogirl.

Okay Team Synergy I am back from night shift !! WOhoo.. I will be much more active on here!

It is true that posts and activity on the boards starts to lag around week #4. Life is busy, however this is the time when motivation is critical to keep ourselves and help others stay on track. i just gat around to looking at pics of your sis. WOW you said she used to be overweight? I can't picture it. When I picture the end result of the weight loss i hope to accomplish I never imangined anything like that. I still see me as pudgy I guess. not overweight but with many curves and soft spots. Your sister does not look like she ever had a weight problem. My hat's off too her.

ok i may never walk or breath again but i'm done for the day. 50/50 dancing for the last 3 days done tonight with my daughter (had to hold her through one song)
well I have many positives today
1) as i was dancing I saw a mirror I HAVE A NECK OH YEAH! it actually looks long
2) i don't shake so much when i walk (like pudding now not jello)
3) My hips swing drastically when I walk and today they didn't hurt.

WOOHOO for me today

I hope everyone is doing well don't seem to be a lot of posts lately. I am assuming it is because once you start dancing you don't want to quit and therefore can't get on here to post.

Okay ladies. I finished my last night shift this morning and have a day off tomorrow. But, before I left the hospital I went to the gym to workout.

Ready for this: I did 45 min on the elliptical (2.5 miles) and 6 miles on the bike, .5 miles on the treadmill and 30 min upper body strength training and 30 min. lower for a total of 11 miles of virtual walking and a fabulous HIIT workout!

I did my 50 squats and 50 crunches, I have almost all my water in, will finish it up tonight when I wake up from my nap.

My positive, when I was doing weights, I turned to look in the mirror and I could see definition in my neck. Before it was just one solid mass from cheek to neck, but you could actually see structure! emoticon

Good morning ladies and Happy Hump DAY!!!!
Yesterday I got in 30 min cardio, 30 min Strength training, danced while preparing dinner, 200 crunches of allll kinds, 100 squats, didn't try a new receipe, 1 + gallons of water.

Postive for today - the backside of my pants are hanging whereas they used to 'hug' my butt. Kinda sad about that and happy at the same time. I'm loosing my bootay!

This morning while I was showering at the gym I thought about the conversation with Kimmie last night and found myself humming (I'm hoping not too loud) 'I'm Too Sexy' and then realized what I was doing and had to laugh at myself.

Anywhoo...off to start working...I think that is probably what they pay me for :)

Good morning ladies. I was dragging butt this morning but I did manage to do my squats in the shower this morning. WOO HOO! Last night I was talking to Garber on the phone and she was talking about how singing in the shower for 3 min. burns 30 cals. and since she showers at the gym she was telling me the songs she was going to sing in the shower "Me so Horny" - can you imagine what the other ladies in the locker room would be thinking! BAH HA it makes me laugh just thinking about it.

I am so proud of you who are doing this. My positive is that my legs are a little smaller, I can tell they don't "move" as much when I walk. I haven't tried my new recipe just yet, but I will get one in this week. I also did 50 reg. crunches this morning as well as 50 rev. crunches. I did Turbo Jam last night so that covered that, I also went to Curves for 45 min. I had the radio on while I was cooking and I was dancing around. W was looking at me like I was nuts but that is normal around my house. I just said "don't hate"!

Drink 1 gallon of water a day: Done!
Log one positive about your PHYSICAL appearance you like that day! My scrub pants fit better - I am shrinking!
MOVE for at least 10 min: Did 30 min on treadmill

Option #2
50 Squats: Done!
50 Rev. Crunches: Not reverse, but did 50 crunches!
Put on your favorite song and dance like a wild women through the whole thing.: Man, I feel like a woman! WOOHOO!

I just got done doing 45 minutes of DDR.
So I think that covers my dancing like a mad woman for today (I think thats what it looked like).
My positive for today is I danced for 45 mins and wasn't out of breath!
Still need to do my 50/50 later.

My sister's photos are posted (on my SparkPage photo gallery) for anyone who wants to see my health role model. One is in her showgirl gear and one is in her regular clothes. She is a doll. She does about 5 hours of cardio every week and about 2 hours of strength training. She, too, follows a diabetic diet (preventive) and eats about 7 times a day.

ROFL Kim!!! My sisters and I call that "hoochie gear". I have a sister who lives in Las Vegas, and her day job is being a nurse, and her 2nd job is (no kidding here!) as a model for hire. She has been a showgirl for most of it, usually for Dept. of Las Vegas tourism. She has the sparkliest, shortest wardrobe I have ever seen!! Finished my goals - my recipe was for a wrap, is that too weak?? (I am not much of a cook!!) I also tried the reverse crunches last night, and...OWWWWWW

Hey ladies....Sorry about that post below, now sure what was up with that.

I am so proud of you all who have stepped up to the challenges, you ladies rock!

I rocked out to Grillz by Paul Wall last night, I love that song - not sure why I just do. I am going to practice for all the club hopping I will be doing when I get to my goal and go out dressed like a ho. I also did my 50/50.

Can I use the same positive that I used yesterday? BAH HA HA - my physical positive today is that when I look down I see less stomach. Actually I just looked down when I wrote that and I realized my shirt has a little lace trim on the vneck and I am wearing a white bra with a black shirt -- DOH!

Hello wonderful ladies!
I did both options yesterday. I tried a new 'fried' chicken recepie yesterday - chicken breasts rolled in low carb breadcrumbs in abt a tablespoon of oil(i needed some extra calories). I danced to a Daddy Yankee Song (Gasolina) and got crunches and squats in :)

I was going to dance around the lockeroom at the gym this morning while doing my hair but thought the other women in there might not appreciate the humor in it :)

Oh, my positive is I think I see my jawbone!!!!

I got my squats and rev. crunches in yesterday. I owe a dance so I'll be doing two songs today.

My positive today: My lips look great! I bought this new shade of kissable lipstick and all the sudden I'm noticing how nice my lips look. emoticon

I choose #1! My positive is that I like my eyes.

I would do #2 but found out today that I cannot do squats! I have a bad right knee and squats and lunges are out for me. Any suggestions for a replacement exercise?? Also, what is a reverse crunch?

Okay, I have completed all of # 2 and my positive is that I found this line of definition in my forearm this afternoon. I haven't seen that in over 15 years.

Kimmie: Thanks for the advise on the elliptical. I was only able to do 2 min because it was set at the highest incline and I didn't know it. So I dropped it to 1 and did 10 min in the beginning of my workout and than did another 20 min at the end of my workout. It was slow, but I got in 1.75 miles on the elliptical alone, another 2 miles on the treadmil and a upper body workout! plus option #2.
I danced like a crazy woman to a JLO song, but I don't know the name it was on the radio channel on cable at work.

I feel pumped!!!

OK Challenge DONE for today!
1. I worked out for 30 min. to BL DVD!
2. I tried the ranch bacon chicken (not bad)
3. I drank 8 16.9 oz water bottles (I'm pretty sure that's over a gallon)
4. I already gave my positive...which is my belly looks smaller!

I am in for option 2!
I want to do both options, but I have planned my 'menu' for the week and some if not most of the food is oldie but goodies...
Positive for the day - I did a good job with my eye makeup this morning...my eyes are REALLY blue today :)

Girl I will do both with ya as well. I have 100 oz down today already so only a few more and I will have my gallon in today. I will let you know what song I danced to and what recipe I chose to make.

My positive today is that I really like my hair today. It turned out great with lots of volume and not too much curl (i have naturally curly hair) and the best part is that I didn't do anything to it ;)

Tomie don't make me come kick your arse...you can do this every day. Do 10 squats every time you go to the bathroom during the day and then the rev. crunches can be done right before you go to bed or right when you get up 3 min. tops. YOu can dance like a wild women for 3 min. while making dinner.

I do alot of option 1 already so I'lll go for 2 but i'm wondering are the exercises everyday or once a week? once a day probably won't happen but a coulpe times a week can.

My new recipe for today is Bacon Ranch Chicken in the Crock pot!
My positive for today is I can see my belly getting smaller!!!!
I will work out to a DVD today for at least 30 min.
I am drinking water and hoping for a gallon!

Okay, I have to be hoenst even as I was loggin in here I had no idea what I was going to post. In fact, to be honest I still don't. My mind is wandering this morning. In fact I am listening to "Angry all the Time" by Tim McGraw and it has my thoughts just wondering and I can feel the prickles in my nose and the tears welling up in my eyes. Yeah, I'll admit it - I'm a weirdo ;) This has absolutely NOTHING to do with challenges, I will get to that....glad my thoughts could wander with you this morning!

I'm going to do 2 and then you chose - how is that? As we go into Week 5 YOU tell me what you want - email this week and I will compile next weeks challenge off of your suggestions.

Option #1
Try one new recipe
Drink 1 gallon of water a day
Log one positive about your PHYSICAL appearance you like that day!
MOVE for at least 10 min.

Option #2
50 Squats
50 Rev. Crunches
Put on your favorite song and dance like a wild women through the whole thing.
Log one positive about your PHYSICAL appearance you like that day!


Okay there you have it - they are a challenge but heck that is what these are, challenges. Let us know what Option you chose!
