I love the game on Wii PLus where you go after the mole. I just love to see him when I blew him up. That is any easy one for me as I just basically stand there on the board. I do like the one with the big black balls too and you have to jump over the logs and things. I can sure feel my lower calves when I get done with that one LOL...Merri

I just got it, and I like it...
You can set up your own workout and run threw it without interruptions, it also counts calories burned! It's also great to have some new games to play. Lastly, they made it easier for two people to play at a time!
I really like the step up program in the 1st Wii Fit. I wish they had added more programs. I am tired of the two that there are, and do not like the one that you use while watching TV. I am not that coordinated to listen to the Wii remote and the TV show at the same time! LOL.

Carol, I am 68 and have a bad knee that needs a total replacement in Nov and I can still do quite a few of the things on the wii plus too. I really enjoy mine. At times I do have a kitchen chair handy for support tho in case I do get a little uneasy...Merri

VAL_ERIE welcome to the group and I will cheer you on to get your Wii Fit Plus. I for one love mine still. To me the Wii Fit Plus and the Wii Fit both got me exercising without going out of the house and enjoying it at the same time. I am 71 Yrs. old now and the exercises are good for me because I can do them without anyone watching me. If I was at a gym I am sure I would not feel comfortable with others around.

Anything that keeps me moving and being happy doing it is a good thing.

Love
Carol

DX,
StarChart Points are something I started for myself. So instead of focusing on the days that I didn't do so well, I will focus on the good things I did.
In my office building I work on the 3rd floor, so everytime I take the steps (4 flights of 8 steps each) I get 1 point that I write down on a calendar. Every day I drink atleast 8 glasses of water I get 1 point. and if I do something else that I feel was good for myself that I need to reward, I will add a point.
I have taken to running up all those stairs and I was doing for every two times i run up the stairs I get one extra point.
Now I think I will make it 4 times running I will get 1 extra point. To encourage myself to run the stairs and not just walk.
and I decided that when I earned 100 points I will buy myself a Wiifit. I wanted to work for it and not just buy it and leave it to collect dust.

DX I think you will like the biggest loser game...it's pretty good I enjoy it...but with the yoga move especially the ones when I have to get on the floor I hate those...but I love everything else about it

What are starchart points? And what do you have to do to earn them?

I just ordered both the Wii Fit Plus and the Biggest Loser at Amazon.com for $56.48 with no shipping to day. The Wii Fit Plus was $17 + by itself.

I don't have my WiiFit yet. So I am kind of excited that I waited to get the WiiFit Plus.

I am about 30 "starchart" points away from earning my wiifit, so I might as well just go with the plus!
I figure if I keep up with the way I've been doing I'll have earned my WiiFitPlus in the next 2 weeks! Hopefully the rush of people is done by then and I'll be able to walk right in and get it!

I just got Wii Fit Plus yesterday, tried it out last night, and have to say I'm not impressed. It's basically the old program with a few new activities, and the bit that lets you weigh your dog? Good grief. I expected that over the span of time, they would have come up with some revolutionary new stuff. Don't get me wrong, I still love Wii Fit, but I could have lived without the Plus.

I found this really good review of the game and wanted to share it

Pros: Fun, imaginative new mini-games
Cons: Weak routine customization

A lot of people bought Wii Fit in hopes of using it to get in shape, but few of them did; for most people, the game wound up gathering dust next to the ab-master and the thigh master and the exercycle, just another good intention gone bad. Wii Fit Plus, a new, expanded version of the game, attempts to change this, not so much by improving the exercise component as by vastly increasing the fun component.

The Basics: Working Out
The best part of Wii Fit was a series of mini-games that let the player’s avatar ski or hula hoop, so it is fortunate that Wii Fit Plus has added, besides a handful of exercises and some minor other additions, 12 brand new mini-games. The result may or may not be a better workout game, but it is undeniably a lot more fun.

For those of you not familiar with Wii Fit, it is an exercise game that utilizes the Balance Board, which gauges shifts in the player’s weight when stood upon. Exercises are a mix of simplified yoga postures and standard strengthening exercises like push ups.

In yoga, players are asked to keep their balance, and the game tracks how steady they are. In strength exercises the board simply sees if you are doing something approximating the current exercise, but offers little useful feedback.

These exercises are lead by alabaster-skinned virtual personal trainers with the personality of cream of wheat. My reaction to Wii Fit as a home gym was that an exercise DVD would be just as good, and considerably cheaper. The mini-games served to make things a little more interesting, but only a little.

The Fun: Mini-Games Galore
Wii Fit Plus has all this plus a slew of new and much more ingenious mini-games. I was particularly taken with Bird’s-Eye Bull’s-Eye, in which you stand on the Balance Board and flap your arms, causing a guy in a chicken suit to fly onscreen. (your arm movements simply cause weight shifts; you can actually make the guy fly by just bouncing up and down on the board.)

Some mini-games offer a pretty good workout. An elaborate obstacle course left me a little breathless. A juggling challenge has your avatar juggling while balanced on a giant ball, and keeping your weight centered on the balanced board while emulating juggling is a challenging exercise in coordination.

Some mini-games also require brainpower. One requires you to add numbers with your hips; add to 10 by hip-bumping nearby bumpers labeled 5, 2 and 3. Another has players controlling tiltable platforms, with the remote and balance board; it requires a lot of mental and physical coordination to tilt platforms at opposite angles to guide balls into their proper bins.

Other entertaining mini-games include a martial arts game in which you must mimicyour fellow students and a marching band game in which you march while waving your hands at specified moments. You can also skateboard or get into a snowball fight, and there are a few modified versions of the original’s mini-games.

Wii Fit Plus has almost anything you would care to use a Balance Board for. There is even one golfing mini-game that analyzes your swing according to how you shift your weight; I’m hoping it will help me improve my Tiger Woods skills.

The Other Stuff: Half-Baked
Wii Fit Plus has also added a rudimentary workout routines section. You can choose a themed workout targeted at posture improvement or weight loss, among other things, or combine a series of these routines as you like. You can also design your own routine, but while Nintendo’s pre-packaged routines combine mini-games with yoga and strength exercises, your own routines cannot include any mini-games. This part of the game feels like a rough sketch for a final version that was never developed, and is very disappointing in what is otherwise a very good package. It is such a brainless shortcoming that one wonders if Nintendo is saving the full feature for Wii Fit Plus Plus.

While the original Wii Fit was only available bundled with the Balance Board, Wii Fit Plus can be purchased separately, which is good news for those who already have a Balance Board.
The Conclusion: The Most Fun You Can Have With Something Billed as Exercise
Wii Fit Plus is still somewhat lacking as an exercise game, and there are certainly better Wii games for a serious workout, but as a Balance Board-centered mini-game collection, the game is a lot of fun. And if Wii Fit Plus gives players a workout through having fun, then neither the game nor the players will gather any dust.

Is there a way to set how long you do things? Like Aerobics?

I am going to continue recording it like I do the original. The yoga, strength and balance as low to med WiiFit activity and the aerobics as hi activity. They are at the bottom of the list when you look under aerobic exercise on Sparks.

So, I finally did 30 minutes of stuff on the Fit Plus. How do you record this in Spark Fitness? I the Yoga and Strength exercises. Just wondering what everyone else is doing.

Enjoy everyone. I am enjoying it and so far have unlock several of them so far.

I am thinking about getting this weekend. Sounds fun... in this version do you have to earn to play new stuff... is it based on unlocking and such as the original version is?

Actually I believe if you go to the Graph it will have all your activities listed just like on the Wii Fit. Plus it also has a place for you to put your other activities like walking my dog outside. Riding my exercise bike etc etc

However today I could not find the new balance games like the new table tilt, and several others. If anyone has found them please let us know where.

Love
Carol

I've actually been keeping a notebook - I write down my activities as I go, just so I have some idea of how much time I spent/how many calories I burned, on which activity.

I *do* like that it also shows you know both your Wii minutes (as it puts your tokens in the bank) and actual minutes. (Unless I dreamed that.)

OK, so just keep pressing the A button. I'll really hunt through everything tonight and see if a 20-30 minute aerobics is doable. I guess the yoga and strength training are good and it does keep tract of what you do, somewhere...

Unfortunately, I just don't think it's an option - I think the customized routines are only for yoga and strength training. Oh how I was hoping that there would be a new, longer-duration, higher-intensity step aerobic activity.

Bought it on Monday and I am loving it! First thing I did was configure my own yoga routine - I had been exasperated by the start-stop-start-stop of trying to do yoga in the original version. I'm still not completely thrilled, I wish I didn't have to hear my trainer go through all the same explanations if I repeat a position - but as I adapt to the pace of the routine, I'm sure I can get past that just by turning the volume down during the routine and playing some relaxing music of my own.

The only things I'd like to add are:

1. The ability to record the total fitness minutes/fitness minutes per exercise. (Unless it's there and I'm just missing it.)

2. The ability to set an aerobic fitness routine - advanced step aerobics limited to just a 5 minute routine is way too short. I'd like to keep my heart rate up for longer durations.

So, I'm really new to WII, but I find the WII fit plus way to talky, talky. Maybe I'm missing it, but I just want to set up a routine and do it. I'm probably missing it.

WooHoo! What a surprise! I came home from work and found a package waiting for me. My dear dear husband had bought the Wii Fit Plus for me when buying some other things for himself through Buy.com. I was not expecting this at all, I had mentioned it in passing but with my knee surgery in June, and I haven't gotten back to the Wii Fit yet,I never expected it!! Now, I can't wait til tomorrow to try it out! Went to deep water aerobics tonight so there was no time or energy left to do the Wii Fit plus justice.
Ohh I am so excited! Sure do love my Hubby!! emoticon emoticon

Wow so many are getting the Wii Fit Plus. The Game Shop store told me they are almost sold out of them. A lot of people had theirs on pre order. But he said a lot of people were just walking into the store and buying it. Thats how I got mine.

Had it 2 days now and I am still very excited about it.

Woohoo, I got mine too!
They had it on base in the store just like I was hoping! I've only glanced a bit through and played a few games as I was very busy today but I will play more the next days.
As for challenging, I really like the EA Sports Active! On the easy setting it was too easy for me, but the medium seems about right for my muscles to fatigue. (And I'm sore today, which might also be because I did ~30 min custom only boxing with the punching bag & targets. My shoulders and arms are killing me today! LOL)

I am so jealous. I won't get mine til tomorrow, but am looking forward to using it. I just looked at my fitness minutes. I have to go exercise since I am 2 min short of 10,000. Don't know why I didn't notice that earlier when I was all sweaty anyway.

I got it, I got it. I love it. Just got it today but oh I am so excited about the new games etc. I freaked out with the drum major (parade) and some of the others.

I can't wait to see what else it is going to do with the body test.

I am thinking about getting it. I hate the stop and goes on the wii fit though. I have the Jillian Michaels ultimate fitness and although I enjoy the exercises I find that most times I can't get the lady to move. Finally got her to run but not as fast as I was going.

So will wait for the Wii Fit Plus but not until after christmas to see if it is something I will want to invest in. I wish the Wii had some way to keep track of all the different exercise disks time. Like if I did 60 minutes on the Wii Fit and another 30 minutes on the Jillian Michaels then I would have 90 minutes but it only accounts for the 60 minutes on the Wii Fit. I know I can go in and record in the activity log but don't know how you can credit. Oh dear I do tend to ramble on. Please forgive.
Love
Carol

I agree with the My Fitness Coach. It wasn't intense enough for me. I use the WiiFit a lot for fun and it's helped my balance and let's me have a good time.

I use the WiiActive, restarting (for like the third time) the 30 day challenge and hope to finish it. I'm glad to hear someone has had success with it! I break a horrible sweat with it and come away feeling like I've worked out.

I'm going to get this one when it comes out. It allows the user to create 20, 30, and 40 min workouts. Might do more. Plus it has a calories burned for each activity. I've just started using my Wii Fit so I figure by the time this one comes out (I hear Nov)I should be ready for it.

I agree with Tema, I find the Active a real challenge and I am only on the east level! But then, I was very sedentary before getting the Wii Fit. I envy you your stamina. Someday, maybe . . . .

JOURNI167,
I have My Fitness Coach and have only used it twice. It simply wasn't dynamic or intense enough for me. I'm now 29 days into the EA Sports Active 30 challenge and am looking for something of equal intensity to do beginning Thursday, or I'm just going to circle back and start over. It's had a dramatic effect on my body and I LIKE IT.
Any recommendations on the most intense Wii Fit exercises you do? Anyone?

Have any of you used My Fitness Coach or Gold's Gym? I have both of those and think I will graduate to those when I get tired of the Wii Fit.

GOODBYEPOUNDS, there is a Daisy Fuentes pilates game on the way. I wonder if it's a Winsor Pilates thing, if she's still a spokesperson for them?

I agree with the posts about wanting a way not to have to stop btwn types of moves in the yoga and strength. I do like the moves, just not how much have intteruptions.

Whatever you think will happen, you're right.

I saw that they were coming out with this just yesturday. I don't think I'll be getting it either. All the current fitness games are way more advace.

I do wish they had more advance yoga or pilates games that would be great or if any one knows about one I havent seen please let me know.

If they have added a lot of balance games, I probably won't get it. I don't do well with the current ones, especially since I am still dizzy from the sinus infection!

I will be waiting on this one. Due to a knee injury (don't know how I did it -?fall in January, overwork without stretching on Wii Fit?? or just bad knees with my weight?) and upcoming surgery(arthroscopy)at the end of the month, haven't been able to work with my current Wii Fit. Previous to this had been thinking about getting My fitness Coach, and EA Fit Active sounds really good from all the comments here. Can't wait till I can really get moving again. In the meantime, know that I am cheering everyone on!

Don't know if I'll be getting it or not. I just got EA Active for the Wii and I'm LOVING it!! I'm doing the 30 day challenge on that right now (started yesterday) in addition to Chalene Extreme so I have a lot of fairly new exercise DVD's. I'll have to see what other people say about it when it comes out.

Sounds fun, but I hope they included the ability to create an entire workout without having to stop in between each exercise. If they don't then I'll try to resist picking it up right away since I already have too much to chose from. :P
