Hi Kathie,
Thanks for that good advice. I hope to do just that... take one day at a time. If I can make it through one day sticking to my plan, I'm doing good! I am tracking my nutrition and exercise daily.
I think I recognize that picture of you. We had our picture taken holding a koala in Kuranda. We rode the scenic railroad up from Cairns in Australia. Is that where you had your picture taken? We spent 2 weeks land touring in Australia, and then we left on our cruise out of Sydney. We cruised for a month to Honolulu.

emoticon this is an awesome and supportive site. I find the nutrition and fitness trackers to be invaluable. Try to take one day at a time and remember we are all in this together!

Hi Donna,
Thanks for the encouragement. We have two darling great granddaughters. Our family is precious to us.
My biggest problem is night time eating. Last night I did not eat anything after dinner. That is my goal and where I need help.
How did you put I bought "The Spark" on your message? I have two copies... the hard copy, and one on my Kindle. I'd like it to be known I have it.
Thanks again,
Barbara

I thank you for your encouragement. Last night was successful in that I did not eat anything after dinner. That is my "bad time." Stopping night time eating is my goal.
Appreciate your scriptures!

Barbara

Barbara, you are very welcome. Please don't hesitate to post to me or anyone with any questions or issues or just to "talk", anytime you feel like it. I'm on here twice a day and I enjoy talking with friends often. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Hi Marcia,
Thank you for responding to my note. I hope to "stick to it" this time by talking to people on these boards. I didn't do that last time, and I quit. Not a good thing. I think message boards will help. I am looking forward to meeting nice people like you. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Barbara, Welcome to the group. I am fairly recently retired, although not by choice. I'm soon to be 64 and actually retired around age 62 because of job loss etc. I enjoy not working but there are times I'd like to get back to doing that. Anyway, I think you will find that using the trackers and the message boards may make a big difference for you. There's no end to what you can learn and the wonderful people you can meet and connect with. Also, there's always someone there to help, if needed. Enjoy your time here and the best of luck on your weight loss plans. Hope to see lots of posts from you.
Marcia

Hi,

I am Barbara. I read the "The Spark" book last year and made a brave try at losing weight. I did not stick with it. I entered my food and exercise and points (can't see the point of them). But, I did not connect with anyone in messages. Later, I dropped my attempts at weight loss. Now I am back. But, this time I am going to use the message boards and see if this helps. I am also going to reread the book which is very inspirational.

My husband is 78 and I am 77. We've been retired 13 and 11 years respectively. We are very active, in good health, and travel a lot. We walk for exercise, plus my husband works in the yard and I work in the house. We are involved with church and community activities.

I am hoping to be able to stick with correct eating and exercise this time. I am 5'9" and I weigh 206. I would love to set a goal of 170 lbs. I think that would be good for my age. Any suggestions or help anyone can give to me would be most appreciated.

Barbara
