GOT IT! I JUST WALKED AROUND MY WHOLE HOUSE ABOUT 4 TIMES..NO WALKER..YEAH!..WILL TRY THE MALL WITHOUT WALKER TODAY..HUBBY ALWAYS WALKS WITH ME..GOT TO DRINK MORE WATER TOO..
GOING TO NURSING HOME TO SEE MY MOTHER..SHE IS 96 AND A TROOPER..SHE WALKS WITH HER WALKER THERE. SHE PUBLISH 3 CHRISTIAN NOVELS IN HER LATE 80'S AND EARLY 90'S, BUT NOW HER EYES ARE BAD AND SHE WANTED TO WRITE ONE MORE..SHE HAS A LAPTOP ALSO..
AS FOR ME, I HAVE OSTERPOROSIS IN LEFT HIP AND ARTHRITIS IN MY BACK..BUT I TAKE A ARTHRITIS PILL BEFORE GOING TO THE MALL AND NO PAIN. WILL DO AS YOU SAID AT HOME..WALK EVERY 30 MIN. emoticon

Good luck. I can't encourage enough to at least stand up and walk in place for 1 minute every 30 minutes. I don't know why you need a walker but I know the reason I started this journey was because I had degenerative back disease and could barely walk from my PC to the kitchen. By forcing myself to take extra steps every time along with back strengthening exercises I now can walk, standing straight, 2 or 3 miles at a time. Hang in there!!

THANK YOU ALICE..I DO SIT TOO MUCH IN FRONT OF MY PC..I HAVE TO USE A WALKER TO WALK NOW AND I DO THAT AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK AT THE MALL..TODAY I WILL GO AGAIN..AND TRY YOUR THOUGHT ON 1400 CALORIES..HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Hey Ladydor,

For what it's worth, I found that I lost more weight when I ate closer to 1400 calories. I'm told that my body went into starvation mode on any thing less. Also I found that if I kept moving everyday all day that worked better for me.( I mean don't sit for more than 30 minutes at any given time.) Also, if you are replacing fat with muscle you are making great strides and since muscle weighs more than fat the3 scale may not reflect you improvement. Take a few key measurements and compare those. I think you will be surprised.

THANKS HILARY..I WILL JUST KEEP DOING WHAT I AM DOING AND LIKE YOU SAY, OUR OLDERS YEARS NEED A LITTLE WEIGHT. I HAD A DOCTOR TELL ME THAT..KEEPS THE BONES FROM BREAKING. I AM 76 AND I DO TAKE SOME MEDS FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND ARTHRITIS AND THEY CAN CAUSE THE WEIGHT TO NOT COME OFF LIKE YOU WANT. I FOUND A SITE I REALLY LIKE TO USE ALONG WITH SPARKS..CALLED "FOOD AND FITNESS"..HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Hello "Ladydor" from New Zealand way,
... we're practically neighbours .... emoticon

There have been two occasions in years gone by where I recorded everything I ate (portions, calorie etc values the works ) including taking in less calories than we burn-up at rest. For a while the scales moved downwards, not a lot, nor quickly but consistently.THEN ! HORRORS ! No movement. I believe this is quite common ... this plateauing out ... and can be quite discouraging at times. The experts would possibly be able to explain this, but in the meantime as I've grown older (68) and hopefully a little wiser, I sometimes think that carrying a little (repeat) little extra weight may not be too bad a thing ! We none of us knows what lies around the corner, and having been a full time Carer for my
late husband watching his progression (downwards) and often being unable to help (I thought) there were those added stresses and physical demands where there is a personal weight loss that "naturally" (?) takes place. I do hope that somewhere here in there has been a little to leave you feeling encouraged.!

I AM DOING 1200 CALORIES AND WRITING DOWN ALL THE FOOD I INTAKE..WALKING THE MALL 3 TIMES A WEEK. BUT THE SCALE IS NOT MOVING DOWN.
