Hi PRIs11 - it's late at night and I'm at my daughter's in Henderson (near Las Vegas) and it's about time for me to go to bed. But I'm glad to see people are posting, that is so exciting to me. It doesn't matter that thread, it is the fact that we are posting to some thread on one of the team that we joined. Great -- keep doing it.

I went off my healthy lifestyle tonight. Had way too many wines and several snacks. Got to hit the hay now. Hugs, Eve

Hi ANGELEAN, and Welcome back. Hey I like what you called your Retirement that's my exact plan too we are both retired, but me with no pension of any kind ha ha.

I was a stay at home Mom for most of the time our kids were home, and didn't work at any job long enough to get retirement. My work was as A CNA or Certified nurse's aide mainly. I worked at that longest but nothing long enough to get any retirement. My husband is retired too, but has retirements so that's how we live.

Love this site and all the friendly nice people and encouragement and support.

Again Welcome back emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Welcome to Retired Seniors Angelean! I'm the team leader and I'm always excited and pleased when I see that a new person has joined us. Our group is still rather small, and I try to stay in touch with anyone who is interested enough to post.

When you mentioned that you are interested in writing, you may be interested in another group I belong to(not as the leader, just a member) and it is called Writer's Workshop. Nice group of people and semi-busy.

Like you said it's never too late to improve, I should know, I'm 70!

Thanks again for joining! Hope you will be very happy with our Team!

Hugs, Eve

Hi fellow team members. I joined SparkPeople back in 2007, worked the program for a short time then dropped out. I'm back and the funnist thing is when I went to weigh in and put down my measurements I'm exactly the same as when I left in March of 2007. Though over the past 22 months I have been up and down with my weight and measurements. It seems like my body likes to stay around the 200 pound mark. But at 4'11" that's not very healthy. Though I have to say that I just had some blood work done and the nurse just called me an hour ago and said, my cholestrol is with in normal standards, my sugar is good, my liver is fine, and I got a clean bill of health on everything except my tricycride. So I need to cut out the red meat. But even with the good news, I know the weight is adding to my joint pain, causing some fatigue, and is not the body image I want to be associated with any longer. I've been over weight practically all my life but as long as there is breath in the body it's never to late to start over. I'm 55, and stopped working Semptember 2007. I call it a pensionless retirement, in other words I didn't work long enough to offically retire, but I don't plan on going back to work in this life time, unless I had to go back to work or live on the streets. Luckily my husband is still working and will recieve a pension when he retirers. So I have the time now to develope my art and writing talents, and to explore other interests. The number one focus for me right now though it getting the pounds off so I'll have the energy I need to enjoy my retired years. I'm trying to start a weight concious support group here in my home town of Florence, SC. I'm advertising in a newletter this month for a group I belong too to see if I can get some people interested in my new group. Also a friend of mine is asking around in her circle of friends. I'm hoping it will take off and plan on letting any members of my group in on the benefits of SparkPeople.com. I belong to a gym, but I find myself lacking in self motivation to get there as often as I should. I'm hoping to find a friend at the gym or willing to join the same gym and exercise with me. I'm usually better at motivating others then motivating myself.
I hope to get to know all the members here in time, I'll look forward to reading your replies to this post, and also to reading what you post to the team page. Here's a little Slogan for the day..We'll all do fine in 2009. emoticon
