I too suffer from hives and cannot pin down exactly what causes it. Good luck with controlling it.

Sandy glad your wedding plan is coming together but so sorry your Aunt is being so unforgiving. I know it really makes you sad but hopefully she will come around in time.

DH had his defibrillator implanted a little over 2 weeks ago. He is still quite sore but hopefully it will improve in time. He has sure had to endure a lot the past few years.

We are leaving for up north in the morning to go see our kids, grandkids, great grandkids and to attend my family reunion. It will be a quick trip as DH has to be back for a dr's appointment on the 8th.

Nan - Hope you are having fun!

Pat - Hope DH is doing better. Sounds like you are doing great with the diet.

Tothefutureone - Sounds like you know where all the good Sales are at.

I have been busy with deal with my Hives. I have had 2 shots so far & a dose of Rx to help the shot along. We have been in the 90's here which is unusually for us plus very humid. Which has made me even more tired. The hives cause inflammation so I have been retaining water. So when I went to the Doctor my weight was way up. Now that I have started back on the shots & took the Rx I have been loosing a lot of water The other problem is it really affects my Arthritis in my hands especially. I keep walking but, last week I couldn't as the hives were so bad that I took benadryl which caused me to sleep all day.
The wedding plans are coming together. We got Food Tasting on Aug 9th. Then we are done with that. I have not hear so spoke with My Aunt since said she wouldn't come. I'm not sure what to say. I have been keeping a my thoughts written down. I just don't know it need to write a hand written letter or e-mail and say what I want to say. Which is I 'm sadden by the fact that she is would hold a feels towards DH for this long. When he has proven that he has worked hard to be clean & sober for over 3 yrs now. We all make mistakes and we are all not perfect. But, we all deserve another chance. My Father wasn't perfect but in the end Mom & Dad did end as friends. DH truly realizes what a jerky he was but, is grateful every day for the fact that I stayed strong & kicked him the way I did. I don't even know if it would do any good. She s the last of my family. I have no other living Aunts or Uncles that are alive or Parents Or Grandparents. I have my One Cousin that is coming & that is all for my side. Then there is everyone from work. DH has 3 brothers & 1 Sister plus 3 of his cousins are coming. So we are going to have about 30 people there in all.

I hope everyone has a great rest of there weekend !

Hard to believe but we have been hitting just the upper 80's the past couple of days. That is rare in July in the south. Rain has been keeping us a bit cooler.

Talked to dr when we did the follow up visit from his hospital stay today. He says to keep on following his cardiac diet and hopefully his appetite will improve as he starts feeling better. It is good for me also as I am the one needing to lose the weight. I have lost 5 lbs this month so that is a win in my book!

Not sure but I think I got a melon like that when I was in Dublin Ireland, so sweet. Fat transfer would be soooooooo good but I think there are more overweight people than underweight.
Hasn't happened to me often but it can be difficult to eat when not well, hope he gets well and is able to enjoy his food soon.

Today we had a sugar kiss melon. Tasted to me like it was a cross between a cantaloupe and a honeydew. The meat was a light green with a softer texture than usual for a melon. It tasted ok but not something I would rush to purchase again as it was more expensive than other melons but we are out foods that we don't normally eat. DH has lost too much weight so trying to put the weight back on healthy and not indulge in food that aren't good for him (or me). I have volunteered to give him a few pounds but guess that won't work!! emoticon

Farmers markets are a short drive away and the special travel would negate anything I might save. I do eat seasonal which gives me variety and saves. I bought aubergine / eggplant which is cheap and beautiful at the moment, something I don't usually buy and I enjoyed it.

I do a lot of shopping for fruits & veggies at the farmer's market which is a lot less expensive than at the grocery store and luckily they go on year round down here

God luck with this. I spend just under $10 per day but doubt I could eat well on that amount. I am having some success with home grown vegetables which save a little.

The afternoon rains are keeping us a bit cooler than normal but still quite muggy and hot. I walk early to try to beat the heat.

Hi guys! Happy 4th, hope everyone is going to eat something yummy ;)

My goal for July is to stick with my modified SNAP challenge - I'm trying to eat (and eat well) on less than $4.50 a day. I haven't quite found my groove, but it's got me motivated to plan and track again, which I haven't done in a very long time.
