Well, I was woken to thunder and rain at 4 am. Went right back to sleep and slept till about 9am. Finished the books for month end and got everything ready to send out tomorrow. We no installs for tomorrow so I will be able to send them out in the morning. It was a warm one again today. Had a wonderful time with my Aunt. I really enjoy our time together. After I got home I ended up taking a nap for 3 hours. I was really tired. I don't go to work till 5:30pm tomorrow. Well, at least I hope I don't. I was called in early on Sunday and ended up working about 9 hours. I think that is why I was so tired today.

Please say prayer tonight for the people in Wenatchee, WA. We are having a bad fire out east that was started by a lighting strike.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Another hot day down here. We went to church this morning and then out to lunch with Vickie, Sonny and their GD. I have taken it easy today-reading and watching Nascar. I will be working 4 days this week so wanted to be well rested as I still have other things to do besides work. Thankful I do not have to do this anymore fulltime!

It is overcast and Thunder and lighting today. We did get a little rain so far. It is warm out but, not like yesterday. It was 73 when I got off work last night at 12:30 am.

Gail - It is Sunday and it is hard to believe that this month is also almost over. This year has been flying by.

Have wonderful day everyone!

Well, I slept till noon today after getting home at 12:45 am and getting to sleep at 1:30 am. I go back into work at 5pm today and won't get off till 12am again tonight . Then I work Sunday 5pm to 10pm. Then I have Monday off. I am planning on doing something with my Aunt. At least I am getting my sleep. My DS and I are two ships passing each other. HA!

It is very warm here today. emoticon It is in the mid 90's. They were expecting it to be in the low 90's but that just not happening. This is unusually weather for us. We only get this for about a week and then we go back to our 60's to low 70's. We have been in the Mid to high 80's for 3 weeks now. It has been too warm for me.

Gail - you are doing so good since your surgery.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Gail so happy you are able to enjoy your reading and the temperature is cool enough to sit out. I can't use my Florida room at the moment without using the window air so I just don't use it and run our electric bill up.

Rained about 7 miles east of us but not a drop here. I did my grocery shopping this morning and ran into Walgreens for a couple of items that were on sale this week. I save my points till I get enough to redeem for $50 in merchandise and then use that money to help buy our expensive vitamins. I got 500 bonus points today. Always like those bonus ones!

Good Morning:

Beautiful day here. I'll be out on the porch reading. Actually, I should run a few errands but...

Have a good weekend and for those of you experiencing very high temperature stay hydrated.

Well, I am down to one week of work. The time has flown by this month and no major problems, so much easier than last year.
Gail I am having laser on my toenails to clear them up. I won't take any of the drugs-too many side affects.

Good Morning:

Well, the surgery went very well and there was no need to get all worked up. Who knew? OK many of you told me it was nothing and it was nothing...no pain, no discomfort. I went for my follow-up visit today and the doc says my eye looks great. Woo Hoo! Will be on certain restrictions till Friday and then that's it unless there are problems. Next month I'll have the other eye done. The biggest downer is the drops.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Gail

DG: Sounds like you are having lots of fun showing off your grandson. How wonderful.

Sandy: Good to hear you got the lock problem settled. Boy, if it isn't on thing it's another. So happy you are enjoying the job at Kohl's.

Pat: That's great that you got to spend time with your Spark friend. Wonderful! I've met some Spark friends from time to time and it's been great. BTW, why do you get your toes zapped?

Val and Penny: Where are you? Everything OK?

I had a great time with my Aunt on my day off. I worked the next day 7pm to 11 pm. Got home at 11:30pm and got to sleep by 12:30am. Then got up at 6:30am and got ready to go back to work for my 9am to 2pm shift today. emoticon Lets just say by the time I got home from getting my hair cut and then taking a shower I was tired. I laid down and fell a sleep till 8pm. I don't have to be at work on Friday till 5:30pm and I get off at 12am. Thank goodness the time goes by fast.

We got the locks all worked out. They said they sent a letter out , which they did. But, we get into out unit at 6 am and that didn't help us when we had deliveries to make. Plus the lock that was on ours was brand new but, they wanted all of them to be the same as they had a different company doing it. It was really dump the way they did it. Was able to put off our clients a by telling a little lie. We didn't want to tell them we were locked out of our unit as that wouldn't have sounded good. So, we said we had a break down in one of the trucks and they were OK with it going in the next day. Thank goodness for that.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

DG sounds like this is going to be one busy summer for you. It certainly is flying by for me. Hard to believe it is almost July! The year is almost half over.
DH saw the othro doc this morning and he is a shoulder guy and referred him to a partner who does necks and backs but not sure she will see him because he has previously been treated and had lower back surgery so we may be looking for another doc! If we don't hear back by next week I will be making some calls.
I went to the podiatrist today and got my toes zapped again. She keeps telling me that suddenly one day it will just start to clear up but so far it hasn't-3 treatments so far. I go back again in Aug.

Hi Friends,
Look like I will still be in and out but hopefully not the long gaps that it was! This is a busy week with friends and meeting them for lunch. Everyone wants to see the baby!! Imagine that! LOL He is such a happy little guy and yes Pat I am enjoying him so much. He is sleeping 7 or so hours a night and that is really good for everyone! He has his own room and that helps Mommy and Daddy a lot. They just had the one bedroom apartment so had no real choice there.

Pat we are hoping the water will be warm to swim for the 4th. ;-) We have had so much rain. The pool warms and then is cooled off tremendously again. Don't think we have had any days of 3 digits yet! Summer of 1980 we had the heat wave and had 26 days and nights of 100 or over with no break! Hope you get some rain too. I know how miserable that is!!

Sandy glad you enjoy working at Kohl's. Oh my, doesn't seem like they should be able to change locks without notifying you and giving you new codes or keys to get in!! That is crazy!!
Hope you like the hair cut!

Gail don't feel badly. Everyone seems to have the same reaction!! My sister is a real worrier and yet she said the same thing after her eye surgery. Glad it all went so well and hope your vision is so good too.

Ok, off to get breakfast and do the dishes and start laundry before it is time to meet a friend for lunch!!

Hugs to all!

Gail so happy it all went well and you are doing so good. You will be much less apprehensive when you do the next one.

Sandy that doesn't sound like the way one wants to wake up and I hope you have it all resolved now. So nice that you are able to get together with your aunt and have such a nice time.

I worked a little over today but off tomorrow as DH & I both have dr appointments. Heat is hanging on but at least today our high was only 94 not 97! Rain is all around us but we just get to hear the thunder and no moisture for us!

DG - I am on the cashiers and work the floor. I really enjoy it.

Gail - I have you in my prayers. Hope the surgery went well.

Vali - Sorry you haven't been feeling good. Hope you feel better for your Saturday.

Pat - You have been busy.

I was woken at 6:30am this morning by DH as they changed the lock on our storage unit. We knew they were changing the old locks to the new ones. But, the one on this unit was brand new. DH got into the unit the day before with no problem but, this morning he couldn't. Plus they weren't coming in till 11:30am . when I called the 800 number the first gal said she would have some call me back. When I didn't get a call in an hour and half . I called them back and that gal told me that they have 24 to 48 hours to call me back. I told her that wouldn't do. We had 4 installs to do. 1 of which was one of our best customers. We were able to do 2 of the 4 and put the other 2 for tomorrow. After that I didn't go back to sleep as the phone started to ring and I just gave up in trying to go back to sleep.

I did meet my Aunt this afternoon and had a great time, as always. We just have a lot of. Tonight I heading to bed early and sleeping in. I don't have to be into work till 7pm.

Hope that everyone has a great day tomorrow.

DG good to hear from you and sorry you have been ill but happy the move is over and everyone seems to be settling in. I am sure you enjoying that little guy a lot.

Gail emoticon that surgery went well and you are resting comfortably.

Sandy sounds like you are really enjoying working and staying on top of everything too. Good for you.

Today was not a work day so I did some things here at home, went grocery shopping and enjoyed pool time. With this heat going for a swim seems to be the best way to get my exercise.

HI Friends,
Sorry I have been gone so long! I caught a nasty cold the last week before the kids were out of the apartment. It has been a long one. I lost 4 lbs as I wasn't eating or sleeping much. I am sure it will come back quickly, just hoping it doesn't bring friends! ;-)
The kids have moved in. We are still unloading and finding room and tossing other stuff! ;-) The baby adjusted well but then he was used to sleeping here and having us care for him so all is well!!

I tried to catch up on everyone but can't spend that much time right now. Please tell me if I missed anything very important. ;-)

Gail I am praying for you and the surgeon today! Don't feel like a slug!! You are reaping the rewards of all your hard work getting your house fixed up! I now have a new roof on the house, the outside of the house has been painted, new gutters are put up on the outside. With all the work my DH would do, I am surprised things were in bad shape. Guess it tells, he was feeling a lot worse for longer than he was letting on. 2 yrs now and I sure do miss him. Father's Day was tough. Saw pics on fb I didn't expect and just seeing his face! Oh my!!! As my sister and I said after we lost our parents, the tears show how much we really loved them.

Pat, Oh guess I haven't been with the team for a year yet? I thought I had. Don't remember you covering for a friend. But how nice and brings in some extra income too. That's always an advantage!

Sandy Congrats on the Kohl's job! What do you do? I like to shop there but rarely find anything but knit tops/shirts. I enjoy their sales on them though.

Val hope all is going well.

Ok, off to get busy! Grocery shopping is on the schedule and I do need to get it done. ;-)

Gail best wishes for you for your surgery tomorrow. Wish I could sit out in my Florida room but just too hot right now-heat index today of 103!

I am really happy one of my Spark friends from OK has been down here at Disney with GK's and she and her DH came and spent nearly 4 hours with us today. We had a great time visiting, went to lunch and took pics. I had made her a bird bath which she says will grace her gardens back home.

We are hearing thunder so thinking and praying we do get some rain this evening. We hear it nearly every afternoon but the rain has been missing us. This heat is really taking a toll on all my plants. A little natural watering would work wonders.

I am down to just 6 more days of work. Will work Wed and either Thur or Fri this week and then Mon thru Thur next week.

Good Morning:

Well, yesterday was day 1 with the eye drops. Today is day 2 and this morning I had to introduce the third kind of eye drops and that didn't go well. I'm hoping it will be better the next time. This is such a bummer. Got to put these drops in every 5 hours or so from morning till bed time.

It was a great day yesterday and I spent most of the day on my screened porch reading. Boy was that something. I'm so blessed.

Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Gail

Gail sending healing vibes to you and that all goes well and soon you will be seeing great again. Glad you had DD to go and stay with right after surgery.

Val glad to hear from you. Sorry you aren't sleeping well. Hope you feel better soon. I know how the heat can zap one. We are battling it here also.

It looks like no break in the heat here for at least a week. Back to work for me tomorrow.

Good Morning:

The weather here has been ideal: cool in the evenings and up to 70-80 during the day. So sorry for all of you who are suffering unbearable heat and humidity.

Well, this morning I put drops in my eyes and I have to do this 4x/day. It didn't go so well, but I hope it's all right. I figure by the time comes to stop I'll have it down pat. UGH! I bought a gismo at the pharmacy and tried using it.

Yesterday I made manicotti and froze two batches, each with 2 dinners. I've got that, meat loaf and chicken paprika all frozen for when I get back. I'll be spending the night with after surgery at my daughter's. The next day or two I'll either stay at her place or have her stay with me. Please keep me in your thoughts. I need lots of good energy to help me get through putting drops in my eyes, a successful outcome and a speedy recovery.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Gail

Val: Happy Birthday a few days in advance. Glad you will be celebrating your special day with friends, and so wise of you to get a designated driver.

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while. I haven't been sleeping well at all recently so I haven't had much energy and I just haven't felt very sociable for a while. A friend told me to try putting Vick's Vapo Rub on the bottoms of my feet and then putting socks on over it before I go to sleep. She said this has really helped her to sleep better so I'm going to give it a try tonight. I refuse to keep anything in my apartment that I could become addicted to (like sleeping pills) so something's got to work...

My 51st birthday is Saturday the 27th. Some friends are going to go out with me for my yearly birthday celebration. We go somewhere for dinner and drinks and someone else always has to drive me because it's one of two times in the year that I'll actually get kind of drunk. Just a little bit drunk, enough to feel nice and laugh a lot, but I don't feel comfortable driving after even just one drink so somebody has to drive me to and from the celebration. Aside from that, my only plans for days when I'm not working is to try to stay cool. We've been in the mid to upper 90s a lot recently, and this weekend it's supposed to get up to (and possibly over) 100. emoticon emoticon I really don't like summer, but oh well. Just have to make the best of things until it's over...

I hope that the rest of you are having a good weekend. Stay cool. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

Gail - My allergies have been giving me a lot of problems. Glad you got your meds for your eyes.

Worked 12 to 8pm today was only to work to 4 pm but , we are short handed and my boss asked if I could stay longer. I said yes. I was to be off tomorrow but, they asked be to work 10am to 6 pm and I said I would. It is extra money in my pocket and brownie points for me.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend

When I had my eye surgery the doctor didn't tell me anything about "secondary cataracts". About a year later I started to loose sight in both eyes. It got so bad that I thought I was going blind. I went to a new eye doctor & he explained to me what was happening & did the lazer treatment on both eyes (6 weeks apart). By the time he'd done one eye I could see again. With both eyes done I'm back to seeing plainly. I still need glasses to do close work & will have to get another pair for both far & near. I wished the first doctor had told me everything but he didn't & I heard another lady say he'd not said anything to her either. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Gail sounds like you had quite a bit going on the past few days. Glad you found the CC. So the couch is huge so happy it will fit in your family room. Not every room can accommodate a huge sofa. Happy dreams on it when you snooze there.
Our eye dr has arranged with a company that ships a kit with the drops you need when you have cataract surgery and if I remember right it cost about $8. Sure takes the hassle out of it for a person.
It is another extremely hot day so I have pretty much done inside work. I did make another bird bath today to give to a Spark friend I plan to meet for lunch on Monday. She is down here with her GK's and DH at Disney this week and will have a couple days next week whent he kids all go home so I pray it works out and we can get together as planned.

Good Morning:

Well, the most important problems of Thursday got resolved. I finally was able to get the drops I need for my eye surgery. None of the initial pharmacies contacted had one of the Rx. I need to start using those drops two days before surgery, so I need to start tomorrow. Also, I found my credit card and have arranged to get a new garage door opener since the "quick fix" didn't work. These too were the other two big Thursday problems,

Yesterday my new sofa came and it is HUGE.. Thankfully, the family room is very, very big and can easily accommodate it. The sofa is super comfortable and deep so I will be able to sleep on it if need be.

My allergies kicked in something awful last night and I'm not doing too well this morning either. Got to reach for the netti pot and then and allergy meds. Any of you having a difficult allergy year?

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Gail

Nan: Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. How are things going?

DG: How are you? We haven't heard from you for a while. Everything OK?

Sandy: So glad you are enjoying the job.

Pat: Take care. That heat index is really dangerous.

Since I had the day off, I called and managed to get in to get a haircut this morning. What a relief.
Think I will try for a nap this afternoon. It is just too hot to get outside to do anything. Vickie & I did get eyelashes glued on Bella this morning and will put her in the park in a couple days-want the glue to set up good.

Well, I got my schedule for next week and I am off Sunday and Tuesday. I work one day 9am to 2pm. Otherwise I work 7pm to 11pm and 5pm to 12pm shifts. Working next 2 days 12pm to 4 pm. Then off and Monday work 7pm to 11pm. I really am enjoying the job. I help this older gentlemen today and it made me feel good at the end. He gave me a big hug and said he'd be back as I helped him so much. He said his late wife use to do all that for him. I told him not to worry that I would be more than happy to help him the next time he comes in. He said he'd be looking for me. This is why I love my job.

Hope had everyone has a wonderful day!

Finished my work week. Today is the 1st day when time has really gone slowly for me. I am hoping things are busier next week.
I spent a couple of hours at the pool this afternoon. About all that one can do outside as it is so hot-97 today and heat index of 102!

Gail that is wonderful that you will have all your furniture.

I worked today 10 to 2. It was really nice day and it went really quick. Really enjoying it. Came home and did some cleaning and the books and printed out installs for tomorrow. Now I just have to route the guys and I am done for the night.

Hope everyone had a nice day.

Gail how nice that you have a great relationship with your neighbor. Even better you are about to get finished with your home when the sofa gets delivered. Must be a relief to finally get it all finished up.
I am halfway thru my stint of being a working gal again. This year has gone much better than last year. I guess this year it is a lot easier since I have done it before.
We are so hot one doesn't want to spend much time outside. I am walking before daylight and still get hot and sweaty. I am going to the pool every chance I get.

Good Morning:

I'm over the moon. My new sofa will be coming this Friday! With that I'll have all the furniture in my "new" house, except for a floor lamp in the living room.

I bought a ceiling fan/light fixture for the bedroom I use as an office. For some reason that room is the coldest in the house in winter and the warmest in summer. So far I've only used my a/c for a couple of house 2-3 times. So nice for me that my house is so well insulated.

Took my neighbor to dinner last night and we had such a good visit. She is the one who is always doing things to help me. I really love her.

Sending you all many hugs,

Gail

I had to get up at 4:30 AM to go pick up DH. I had dropped him off at 8 PM Mon eve for his sleep study. We both came home and went back to sleep till just before 7! I went out and worked in the park and my gardens till about 9 and it was just too hot to stay out any longer. We topped out at 97 today. About 9:30 Vickie & I went to the pool for a couple of hours. Love the pool!!
This afternoon we (Bill, Vickie, Sonny & I) went to several thrift stores where I picked up a 3/4 sleeve top for myself, a new pr of slack for DH and some little books for 2 of our great granddaughters who love to read. I also picked up a ceramic birdhouse for the park. Afterwards we went to Cody's Restaurant and celebrate their 25th anniversary with them. You paid for your meal today and they gave you a certificate for a free meal at a later date of the same value. We picked the perfect time to go-walked right in and immediately was seated and I even got a parking spot right in front of the place. When we left about 90 min. later, it was a 45 min wait.

Been busy today doing laundry and some cleaning. Did work in the yard for a little bit today till it got to warm. It was 80 today. It is too warm to cook so, will fix a salad for us tonight. I am just relaxing now before fixing dinner.

Hope everyone had a nice day.

Crazy day at work and I ended up working 5 1/2 hrs instead of 4 but I managed to get things back in balance and off to our management company so they can put out the financial stmts. I might have to go in for an hour or so tomorrow-will see what happens. Seems there is always something that needs attention.
I got my ironing caught up today and will take Bill to his sleep study about 7:30 tonight and have to pick him up at 5 am so....guess I will need to go to bed early so I can get up!!

Sandy great bargain for you!!! Glad you are enjoying your time off.

Gail do hope you get the garage door issue resolved. Happy you are enjoying some time out with neighbors. Sounds like a very pretty garden area she has created.

I slept in this morning instead of walking-we are quite hot and humid. I went to the pool for a couple of hours after church instead. We hit 97 for our high today and looks like we have a couple more days to endure the heat before it cools down a little bit. It is back to work for me tomorrow and tomorrow night DH has to go for a sleep study.

It beautiful day out today. I ran some errands. I even ran to Kohl's to get DH a Father's day gift. I had a 20% off as I wasn't sure if my employee discount had kicked in yet. Well, it did. So I got the 15% plus the 20% off what I bought for a total of 35% off. Plus it was on sale too. Afterwards I went and picked up my meds and then came home. I did a little work in the yard till it got to warm. Now I am just relaxing and watching old movies.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Good Morning:

Was invited to a friend's for dinner last night and had a pleasant chat. This lady is a gardening enthusiast and had a pond built in her garden.

The problem with the garage door is resolved....I hope. Another tech came out yesterday and reprogrammed my code. So far so good. Hope this works. If not the alternatives are another large expense.

G.

Nan: Still keeping you in my prayers.

Nan will certainly keep you in my prayers. Do hope things get better soon.

We ran some errands this morning, I fixed some food items when we got home as we are having Vickie & Sonny over for burgers so I made potato salad and a fresh blackberry cobbler (from the ones I picked recently)

We are in the mid 90's today and very humid out.

I didn't work today-Bill had an appt. at 8:45 with his oncologist and got a good report there. His platelets are in a good range so he just stays on the 1 pill he has been taking for this for a number of years. If it gets too low, he goes off for awhile but that hasn't happened for about 2 years. We went with Vickie & Sonny this morning and they waited while Bill saw the dr and after his appt. we went for breakfast since we didn't get to go Thur because I was working. Then we went for Sonny's appt. with his urologist. His PSA has risen a tad so dr said even though he had his prostrate removed and had radiation, he is going to have to start taking medicine to keep things in check. Not the news they wanted but praying that it will keep things from getting worse. His brother has battled prostrate cancer for several years and is getting worse so hoping it isn't a family issue for him
They stopped at Walgreens on the way home so I could go in stock up on several vitamins we take. I am on Presser vision for my macular degeneration and it was buy one get one 50% off and I had a $10 off coupon on 2 that was going to expire the 30th so bought them. I also got our Mega Red and Move Free as they were both BOGO and I had some $ off coupons for those also.
I had about 3 hours between when we got home and the next dr. appt. for Bill so went to the pool for almost 2 hours. I could have done some housework BUT since I didn't walk this morning thought I needed the exercise more. I did finish painting my gator before I went to the pool and hope to seal it tomorrow and get it out in the yard.
Bill had a good checkup at his pulmonary dr. He has to do another sleep study on Mon night and then they will order a new bi-pap machine for him. His is old and very noisy so time to replace it if they want him to use it regularly. Glad that they will do this in a timely fashion. They started working on getting the new machine last Dec. and it got dropped so now we are moving forward!
A storm blew in while we were at the last appointment and Abbie was home alone with the thunder. We returned and she was panting heavily but otherwise seems to have managed it ok. Storms freak her out. Looks like it has moved on out but rained pretty hard for about 45 min.

Good Morning:

Got the garage opener fixed to the tune of $450+ but it had to be done and I'm glad it's over.

Having a Spark friend who lives in my town over to lunch. I'm making a crustless quiche and having berries for dessert.

Pat: Hope Bill's appointments go well. He'll be in my thoughts.

DG: How are you doing? Is the family all settled in?

Sandy: How do you like your co-workers?

Another full day for me-busy morning at the office after my early morning walk! Did some chores around the house when I got home and gave Abbie a bath and then we went out for the birthday/anniversary dinner at 4.
Bill has 2 dr appointments tomorrow so that will take up early morning and late afternoon so hopefully can get a few things done around here between them.

You guys are so busy, busy busy: DG with the house, Sandy and Pat with work and other projects. Me, I'm a slug with my head in a book.

My garage door sometimes opens spontaneously and I'm looking into that today. I may need a new opener. Gee thanks.

Nothing else happening here. Just waiting day by day as surgery day approaches.

I worked this morning and then had to run to the post office (for the park) this afternoon. We had thunderstorms arrive about 12:30 and we ran to the PO between showers (still needed the wipers so it was still raining).
I had walked at 5:30 this morning and it was nice then (about 70) which isn't bad for walking. I have to work again tomorrow and will be off on Fri as Bill has a dr's appointment in fact 2-one in the morning and one in the afternoon which is a makeup for the one he missed last week - not our fault, we went to the appointment but dr is no longer with the practice! They are double booking us in on Fri so not sure how long it will take!
Vickie & I booked us a 2 day stay in Daytona early in Aug. We will be staying right on the beach. Thought it would be nice to stay over there and that way we can come and go on the beach and the dear hubbies can snooze if they don't want to sit out on the beach. We also have tickets for the aquarium in Tampa so thinking we will do that in July when I am not working. We will find something to keep us interested and not bored this summer - like I ever have trouble with being bored. emoticon
I am working on my last gater and have it painted but just doing a little touch up to make it more realistic looking.

Worked 9 to 1 today. Then meet my Aunt and we went Antiquing and got a bite to eat. We had a great time. Then came home and finished the laundry that I started when I left this morning and routed the guys for tomorrow. Now I am relaxing with my feet up and watching a little of the NBA finials then it is off to sleep land for me. I work again tomorrow from 9 to 1 and then go to the store after I get off as the cupboards are bare.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Yes getting it all entered is a real PIA but once it is in there then you have it for the rest of time and if you are like many of us, I think we use or eat a lot of the same things or recipes.

Sandy glad you were able to get your med refills. Luckily my dr will do it for my mail order pharmacy if they contract him so that is usually how I get them renewed unless it is one of those years when I end up changing plans. Ah the joys of drug plan after 65!

DH went for his coffee and today he had a homemade fresh out of the oven blueberry muffin. He likes it when one lady provides the treat on Tuesday morning. While he was enjoying his treat, I was out walking!
I worked on painting my gator after my breakfast and it is 95% done. I have to put either black or gray on the green to make it look more natural and then seal it and that will finish my painting UNLESS I decided to redo my bumblebee which really does need a refreshing coat of black & yellow. It is made out of bowling ball!
We got cleaned up after I finished my painting and headed to get gas for the car and then to Lowes and Home Depot. We are wanting to put an over the stove microwave in and wanted to see what was out there. I think I know what I want but now need to talk to our handyman before we make a purchase! I will lose some cabinet space but if I eventually get the kitchen makeover I want I won't miss it.
Bill had to be at the eye dr at 1 so we grabbed a bite at Taco Bell (his choice) and then off to the dr. He now has the start of macular degeneration so will have to be checked every 6 mo. The vision in his left eye has deteriorated even more and he is essentially blind in it-he just see shapes but his left eye is holding good for now so that is a blessing. I have to see the same dr in July and think he will discuss doing my cataracts then. We hit on it today.

Thanks for your support. I was all right yesterday till late at night. It was a question of portion control, though there was a bit of junk food. I did something I never did before...I tossed the better part of a bag of chips and some crackers. Both were stale. Last night I made up my food plan for today. One big problem I have is that I'm finding it especially difficult to list recipes in my cookbook and then transfer them onto my food tracker. Also, there are many foods I need to look up and enter. It's a real pain.

Wishing you all a day of sunshine.

Gail - I am really proud of you. Keep up the great work. One day at a time is all anyone can ever ask for. emoticon

Today was great. Saw the doctor and she re-new all my Rx's for the year. Then I see her for my Yearly in July. I have my 6 month Mammogram check in July also. First day went well. It was watching videos all day. Tomorrow I get trained on the cashier register. I work 9 -1 tomorrow, Wed. and Thur. I have Friday, Sat and Sun. off. Will know more on Wednesday what my scheduled is for the following week is.

Hope everyone had a great day!

emoticon Gail. I think we have to take things 1 day at a time and not look a long way down the road. Celebrate the little victories-they add up to big gains!

I got thru another day of work. I was up by 5:30 to walk and got in 90 min before getting ready for work and this afternoon I spent 2 hours at the pool so guess I got my exercise today. I had made a roast yesterday so we had that for dinner so no cooking tonight except to steam us an ear of fresh corn. It is in season right now so trying to enjoy what is in season.

I'm almost afraid to say anything for fear of jinxing myself, but I've tracked my food for 2 days. I went to bed a little hungry, but stayed put. One day at a time.

Thank you everyone! I am really looking forward to going to work on Monday. But, a little nervous at the same time. Which I except to be since it has been a while. took care of my Uncle for a while and now running the business. But, it is always nervous when you are going to learn something new. But, I will manage and do just fine. I get benefits and employee discounts plus 401k. They also give you shares in the company at some point. It is part-time at $ 10.00 an hour about 25 hrs. total.

It is another warm day here. It is to get up into the mid 80's today. I am staying in where is it nice and cool. I have the air set at 70.

Hope that everyone is having a wonderful day and are being safe. My prayers go out to those who are in the states having the bad weather. Please be safe.

Found out today that we were lucky-just about a mile away the winds were so bad it tore the roof off of an apartment complex and knocked over several trees. We did have strong winds here and it blew over my big flower pot with my butterfly tree and pulled the stakes out of the ground and knocked over my metal flamingo. Guess we were lucky that was all we suffered.

Today it is very muggy out. I worked out in the yard for a couple of hours and got quite sweaty. Looks like we could get more rain this afternoon.

Well, I got the job at Kohl's. I am so excited. I go in Monday to fill out paper work and get showed around. I will go in from 11 am to 3 pm. I have a Doctors apt at 8:30 am and then I will go over to Kohl's. DH is really happy for me as he knows I need something to do. My Aunt is really happy for me as she knows how much I love to work outside of the house. It is only part-time but, it will get me out of the house and meet other people. I have had no hives since that other day. Have been using Benadryl for the small break outs. But, haven't had any. We are to have really hot weather this weekend . It is to get to 85 this weekend. Not planning on doing anything to much.

Hope all of you have a great weekend!

I had a very busy day event though I didn't work. Walked early, off to a garage sale by 8, got some items for the park, on to breakfast, hit a couple of vendors for some produce (got zucchini, watermelon, tomatoes), stopped by Kohls for Vickie to get a gift card for her daughter's birthday and collected our free 5 gold coins at the car dealer on the way home. This afternoon Vickie & I went to Publix, The Dollar Tree, Aldi, and CVS. We had just gone to the pool about 3 to relax after all the running when not 30 min later a big black cloud rolled in and we heard thunder and then saw lightning so beat feet and headed home and out of harm's way. We had strong winds, heavy rain and luckily the hail stayed east of us.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less hectic.

Taking a friend to lunch today and getting on with my reading. One book I finished yesterday is a mystery book of the month for the local library book club. I stopped going after a few sessions a few years ago because I didn't like the books and the discussions were boring. Now there is a new librarian leading the group and I'm told she's terrific. The book was very good but very intense. I can only read so much of those a day, so I was reading this one for over a week. The session is Monday morning and I really hope it is good. The book is THE BLACK HOUR, by Lori Rader-Day.

Every year I try to send my children some money. They don't need it but I want them to have extra. (As I think I told you my husband was a compulsive spender and the rest of us didn't have much when he was alive.) Usually, both my daughter and son call to thank me, but yesterday I got a very, very touching thank you note from my son that brought tears to my eyes. My kids and their spouses are very reserved, but one way or another they are all there for me. This is very moving and I really feel blessed.

Gail

Sandy: Stress can cause hives. Did you know that? Anyway, benedryl will take care of it. Wishing you all the best on the job with Kohl's.

DG I am working part time for the month of June while our office manager is on vacation. I did it for her last year. I work 3-4 days a week and 4 or so hours on the days I work. I tailor it around my schedule! I did 3 days this week and worked 14 hours. I will work thru Jul 3.
I am glad to have gotten in my 1st week and no issues. Last year seemed like it was one big issue after another. Maybe it was because I was new to it or maybe it was just a lot happening that isn't this year but a lot less stress this time.
Sandy will be wishing you well on the job front. I know what you mean when you are expecting a payment and it doesn't come in as that then means you can't pay your bills on time. We had our own business and had some tight times for sure. Hopefully they will get back on track. That is what I have to work on next week-paying the bills! This week I was working on getting the money deposited!!!

I didn't get a chance talk to my PCP as I had an interview with Kohl's today. The interview went really well and they are going to let me know tomorrow. If I don't get a call then I didn't get the job. But, the girl seem to think I would. Any ways the hives were good today. I don't know what happen yesterday morning to why they were so bad. But, they haven't given me any problems today what so ever. I was a little stressed the other day as we had not been paid by one of clients for a month and it was a large check and I had been on them about it. They are my biggest money makers and they didn't pay their April bill last month. So, I was beginning to panic as I had bills to pay and I count on that check to pay the bills. It go here today. So, I am late on one of the bills. But, got the rest off on time. Also, finally paid DH for the passed 2 weeks still owe him for this 2 weeks. At least he understands and he is OK. They have promised me that this May's check will be here on June 10th. So, that may of been the reason why the hives came out really bad. I am going to see how it goes tonight and if I have any problems then I will call my Allergy Doctor tomorrow and have him call in a Rx for him since he already knows about it.

Hope that everyone had a great week. We are to hit 85 on Sunday. We got up to 75 today it was a really nice day today.

Hello Friends! Am taking a break. 3 days to go and I think we will make it. Of course once the kids are here we will still have some things to put away. This is making me go through things that have needed to be moved or parted with, so all in all it is a very good thing in so many ways! Loving the young family with me! What a joy!! ;-)

Pat I guess I missed something. Are you working in an office somewhere? Guess it is part time? What made you decided to go back?
Yes you are right, having the kids move in is making me sort and clear out more things! ;-)

Sandy glad you had a good time with your Aunt. So good for you to have each other! Hope you are feeling better today!

Gail what a great thing to let the store know the quality wasn't good. So glad they made it right!
Things are going extremely well. Thanks so much!!

Will keep checking in when I can!

Gail - My Aunt is my only Aunt left that I have on my Mother side or Father side of the family. I cousins but, she is the closes that I live too. And the closes that I keep in touch with. She is like a good friend, Mother and Sister all in one. I can talk to her about anything.

I have been relaxing all day as I woke up to hives really bad this morning. The pills the doctor gave me seem not to be working. I see my PCP on Monday and will talk to her. Otherwise the has been a good one. Sun is trying to pop out but, we are still having rain off and on. It is warm in the mid 60's.

Have a great day.

Gail-good for you for letting them know that what you got isn't what you paid for!! I am glad that the store stood behind the merchandise and had it redone for you. Isn't it a shame that things do not last these days. It used to be that items lasted forever and appliances did also or you fixed them. Now we live in a throw away society because it is cheaper to buy something new than to fix it. However, the newer appliances aren't meant to last more than 7-10 years (not 25-35) so we have been paying to get our refrigerator repaired! When I bought my last printer, the young man told me they make them out of recycled material these days and they do not last more than 3-5 years! Sad isn't it. Of course, I decided to go with a cheaper model and very sorry I did, I miss my auto feed when I want to copy and do you think this one will die so I have to replace it, of course not!!!!!
Had to be up early today even though I didn't work. We were on the way to take Abbie to a new groomer before 7 this morning. I did not get in my walk-just a short one with Abbie before we left.
Bill saw the ortho doc and he put him on a 6 day course of methylpred and will see him in 3 weeks. If that doesn't help the inflammation, he will get a cortisone shot and then if that doesn't fix him up, he will discuss surgery but would prefer to avoid that if possible.
We had about 90 min. before his next appointment so came home for a few minutes to relax and call his DD to wish her a happy birthday.
What a shock when we arrived at his pulmonary doc and they told us he didn't have an appt!!! Guess what, I had the card showing he did but no dr was there today so.....now we have to call next week and reschedule. One of the dr's has left the practice and things are all out of whack. The gals at the desk were very unorganized today and one would have thought they would have called us. Not sure what is up but hope to find out. We really liked the dr that has left but also like her partner.
We arrived earlier than I though we would to pick up Abbie and she wasn't ready so had to kill about 30 min so went and grabbed a bite at Arby's which was close. We had not eaten there in years. The new groomer did a good job and is cheaper so thinking she is a keeper. I now have to schedule her appts. so it works out for our trip this fall as I want to get her cut just before we leave.
Think I am due for a nap so off to read a couple of chapters and take a snooze! It is back to work tomorrow!!!

Good Morning:

Back last month I had 3 new chairs and 2 ottomans delivered to my home. I had to wait a few months for them since the fabrics were not something the store had in stock. I don't know if any of you have purchased furniture recently, but these items were very expensive and from a high end furniture manufacturer in the USA. The store sent a survey following the delivery and there was a space for comments. I indicated that the workmanship was extremely poor; the furniture looked like it was the first effort of an apprentice. The store sent a tech out and he was very surprised about the poor workmanship. Long story short, they picked up all the items and sent them to their upholsterer. Yesterday they delivered them and now they look fine. I guess the moral of the story is that you don't necessarily get what you pay for these days. Consumer beware.

I've been reading like crazy to keep my mind off the upcoming cataract surgery this month. So far so good.

Sending you all lots of good energy and wishing you a happy day.

Gail

Pat: Will you be having cataract surgery? So glad you like your job.

Sandy: Sounds like you and your aunt had a blast. Is she the only family near you?

DG: Hoping things are going well. Let us know when your family has settled in.

Well, I had a great time with my Aunt. Helped her out at the house before we went out. We didn't find anything but, had a wonderful time. Afterwards we went to out favorite place to get our favorite Lollipop chops, they are mini pork chops and they are really good. We go to a place called Bonefish. We each have a Martini and 2 appetizer each and we share them. It is plenty of food. We do go to other places depending on where we are. It has been overcast and raining on and off all day.

Hope everyone had a great day.

DG I guess this will spur you to clean things out to make room for DS & family to move in! Hope it all goes well and soon everyone will be settled.

Sandy sorry you continue to have allergy issues. I have been sneezing a lot but that is about it. Hope you had a nice lunch with your Aunt. Do you go to different restaurants? We like to try new ones and go to local ones if we can to support our local folks.

Gail I am enjoying the work. It is nice knowing I only do it 3-4 days a week and about 4 hours a day so it isn't like I am putting in 40 hours. I do enjoy it-keeps me thinking and the helps my brain stay sharp emoticon ! My biggest issue is the lighting-my cataracts make it difficult for me to see print because the lighting is not very bright. I definitely have to wear my glasses.

I was out early again today and got in almost 8K before going to work. Bill & Sonny went to get the donuts for the coffee and donut time this morning but Bill did a lap with me before they left at 7.

It is clouding up so we likely will be getting rain before long. We got 2 inches yesterday in under 2 hours. We definitely needed it but hoping it will not be such a downpour. I am thankful we didn't get the hail they did around us.

DG: Guess I got it all wrong. Thought your son had already moved in and that he was now moving out to his own place. Sounds like he and his family are moving in permanently. Hope you all get things put away and settled very soon.

Sandy: Allergies. Tell me about it. I've had to take 1-2 pills a day and some days even use nose sprays. This year is the worst. Have a good time with your aunt today.

Pat: Getting back to work. Are you excited? Do you like the work and your situation?

Gail

Hi!!
Day 1 (of this week) of preparing for the kid's move in on Saturday! I have several things to move out of what will be their master suite and am setting up the nursery in my DH's former office. Making progress. Am sure using muscles!! ;-)

Sorry Sandy you have such an allergy issue. Glad the shot helps. Have fun with Aunt. Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you have a favorite restaurant?

Pat you did have a busy day! Hope you sleep well tonight.

My sister is having surgery tomorrow. She is half way across the continent from me. She went to the ER last night and learned she had a sinus infection, pneumonia and a large stone in her gall bladder. I am a bit worried they are going to do a general anesthesia when she has pneumonia but the Lung Specialist said it will be ok. They hope to do the surgery laproscopicly (oh too tired to spell tonight LOL) Any and all prayers will be appreciated.

Headed to bed!! Hope everyone is doing well!
Hugs and blessings!!

Had an Allergy appt. this afternoon and all was good. He gave me some meds for my Hives that should help me. Made appt. with my Primary Doctor for my Physical but, can't get in to see her till July. So, made appt. to see her for just a Med. check for my medicine next Monday. This way I can get my Meds refilled in the meantime. Meeting with my Aunt tomorrow to do some Antiquing and get a bite to eat. Today is overcast and rainy.

Pat - Glad that I could help.

DG - Glad that you and everyone are OK. How did the move go?

Gail - Glad that the exercising is helping you.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I again thank you Sandy for all the info-looks like we will have to plan on spending a few days in the Seattle area!
I survived my 1st day of work without any big problems. I was up quite early (5.30) so that I could get in my walk before heading to the office by 7:40. I had to be there early to let in a lady to run a water test at 8 and I wanted to have a couple minutes to get things together before she arrived. Good thing I did go early as she arrived about 7:59!!
This afternoon we went to lunch with Vickie & Sonny and then to Bealls to do a little shopping. Vickie found a pr. of capri pants at the Outlet and I got Bill a new or. of Crocs at their main store. They were 30% off today so took advantage of that.
We have had quite a downpour (finally) that has lasted a little over an hour. I will check our rain gauge when it quits raining to see how much we got.
I am a tired puppy this evening so it will be early to bed for me as I have to get up early again tomorrow!!

Beautiful day but cool in the 40s right now. Awaiting the Salvation Army to take my old sofa.

DG: So glad you weren't personally effected by the storms. What state are you in, I forget?

Will your son and his family be close by?

Nan: We haven't heard from you of late. Everything OK?

Hello Friends. I am not even going to try to catch up! This week and next we will all be busy helping the kids move. All is well here. Rain has stopped. We didn't have any flooding that involved my home but there was some in our town.

Hope you all are well and have a good week!

Well, I am running a little behind this month already. It is just hard to believe that it is June already. Well, I got our and planted my herbs today and finished pulling the weeds in the back. I still have to get a few more plants but, I am good for now. It was a beautiful day today but, we are expecting rain tomorrow.

Pat - Glad to hear that the web site helped. I thought it might as it seemed to have a lot of information. As you can see there are a lot of great place to see over there. You have the San Juan Islands too which are really nice. If you like wine there is Whidbey Island and their Boysenberry Port wine or Woodinville.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
