Sandy thanks for all the info. I did look them up and think we will do that. We want to have an idea of what we want to see before we go and how to get there so less stress on the trip.
Gail so happy that the exercise is helping you. Keep at it and who knows it might get a whole lot better than you ever thought possible.
I took the day off and didn't walk. Last day before I go to work for the month so thought I didn't need to push myself today. I enjoyed sitting in the Florida room and reading the Sunday paper before getting ready for church.
After church we went out for lunch. Vickie had a free burger coming from Ruby Tuesday so we all went there and then came back here and played cards. We split the games so everyone went home happy.

Good Morning:

Beautiful day today. Have to run some errands and then this evening my daughter and sil are taking my granddaughter (their daughter) and I to dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to it.

Over the past couple of weeks I've done more PT and have found enormous improvement with my left shoulder. I've actually gained quite a bit of range of motion with exercise. WOO HOO!

Enjoy Sunday everyone,

Gail

Pat - I would take the tour out of Seattle. There is a company that leaves out of the Port of Seattle and it will take you to the gardens. It is a Ferry that takes you over and then they will take you by bus over to the gardens. I think you can go on line and look it up. The name of the company is Victoria Clipper and the web site is www.clippervacations.com. I hope that helps. There is all different package deals. There is a lot to see over there too.

Sandy thanks for the info. What is the best way to get to the gardens? We are thinking of taking the ferry? Should we do a tour or take our cars?

Pat - OK, So, they are doing work around Pie's Market as they are adding to it but, it is open. The I-5 is always busy but, it will better than the 405 as that is a toll road between Bellevue and Lynnwood. There is China Town in Downtown Seattle that is nice. There is also the Underground tour of Seattle that is fun. It's not too long of a tour and not too far form Pike's Market. And of course there is the Space Needle. There are a few New things around there. I do love the gardens in Victoria.

It was another warm and sunny day here. Worked in the garden a little trying to get thing ready to plant. Then came in and relax hen it became too warm.

hope everyone is having a nice day.

OK Sandy you will have to give me the low down on your traffic before we head west this fall. I remember it was horrible when we went thru Seattle in 2000 with our rv. When we was out west in 2004 we bypassed Seattle-stayed in Olympia and drove the car in on the weekend but still got into traffic when we went to the Space Needle and did some other sightseeing because their was a ballgame. I do so want to go to Pike's Place (? is that the correct name?) You will have to tell me of any other things we should be sure to see out that way. I do want to get to the gardens on Victoria Island. We are all looking forward to the trip and I am trying to garner any info from people who live in the areas we will be traveling as the locals know what is worth seeing. Of course, we have been to a lot of things but V&S have not so we will see many again but that is fine.
I am going to a memorial this evening for our friend, Carolyn. We bought our home from her sister & DH. She was once of the 1st to welcome us to the neighborhood. So sad she waited till 68 to retire and passed away at 70.

Good Morning:

I'm still reading but the books right now are pretty glum and I'm anxious to get some stuff that will be much lighter. Wish I could find books that would give me a good belly laugh. Anybody know of any?

Been having horrible heart burn lately and I find not eating after 6pm helps a lot. Also keeping away from gluten and spicy food.

My granddaughter is in from Chicago this weekend and we are all going to dinner tomorrow. Love that child.

It's cloudy here and cool. It's been like that for most days in the past week. Got to get my butt out of the house to run some errands.

Enjoy the weekend.

Well, I was to go with DH again today but, he didn't come in and wake me today. Which was a good thing as I slept in but woke with a sinus migraine which is caused from all the cottonwood blowing around and the heat yesterday. It happen the last time I went out with DH. At least this time it wasn't too bad. I took some sinus meds and went to sleep again and it helped. DH called the worker that I fired, that has helped us out a couple times since I fired him, to come help him today and he was more than happy to do so. He may not always be able to help as he's got 7 kids with another on the way and has 3 different jobs going on but, he has come though lately for us when we needed him. So, for now he is our go to guy when we need him. He has his own truck and equipment so, I pay him $17 hr. plus his gas which is about $ 100 for the day which is worth it as it really helps DH and me out.

Val - You really sound great. Whatever you are doing keep it up.

Pat - That wasn't even rush hour that is about normal for us. Traffic up here has really gotten bad due to the growth of Washington. There transit is out of date and there idea of update it not very good. They are making come of the freeways toll lanes which makes it really bad for businesses. Lets just say it's crazy. emoticon It sounds like you had a busy day.

Gail - How is your books coming?

DG - How are you doing?

Nan - What are you up to?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Val so happy to r things are getting better at work. As Gail said, you sound so much happier and that is a good thing. I think satisfaction in our work life is crucial to our mental health.
Sandy sounds like a mess with your traffic. I hate it when you just sit there and can't go anywhere but thankful I no longer have to fight the rush hour traffic! Good luck on getting things done tomorrow.
I had another crazy full day and glad to just sit down and relax. I walked at 6 am and by a little after 8 picked up a friend and we went blackberry picking and I have enough for 3 cobblers, when I got back I finished up my ironing and then went to work on my last gator. At 1, Vickie and I headed out to run some errands-Bealls gave me a coupon for $10 off of a $10 purchase and today everything in the store was 30% off so got DH a new t-shirt for summer and I wear Crocs and rarely get much off on them so I picked myself up a new pair of sandals for this summer. We also stopped at Wal-Mart, Aldi and Rural King! It was 3:30 when we got back and I had to rush to head to the office to get my last instructions from Sharon. She will be leaving very early tomorrow morning and I will have charge of the office till she returns after July 4.

Pat, you're doing such a wonderful job with the critters. They're just beautiful. emoticon

This is the second week of the retraining I'm finally getting in my other favorite department at work. I love it! Blood bank is blood bank is blood bank, but I have to learn how we do the particular things we do in our blood bank and how we do them with our goofy computer system. It's all coming back to me pretty easily and I'm finally starting to feel like a real lab tech again. Hooray! It's amazing how much better this is all making me feel about my job. It's about darn time...

The weather has been pretty nice here...but soon enough it's going to be summer and I'll be totally miserable until fall because I couldn't get my act together and find a new apartment in time to move at the end of next month. Oh well. My work schedule should be changing soon and I'll start working 4 days and having 3 days off, which should finally give me some time to start really looking at new apartments. (I'm going to go ahead and sign an 8 month extension of my lease and try to move at the beginning of March.)

I hope that you all have fabulous plans for the weekend. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

Pat - Wow! What a beautiful job you did on the bears. They look brand New. What a difference.

Well, I went out with DH today and helped him the best I could. We ran into trouble as there was a major accident on the freeway and we had to call one of our clients to see if we could do it tomorrow as we were sitting in traffic for 2 hours and weren't any where close to the install. She was really sweet and said yes as she had heard about the accident. So, we got off the freeway and headed to the last install and went home. It got up to 80 today and is to be hotter tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day.

This was my bear before I gave him a fresh coat of paint

Now he is all bright and back on my hillside.

I have been working every morning while it is cool in my Florida room to get all of my outside lawn critters repainted and they are looking so much better.

I get up by 6 am to walk so I can get out there to paint and I have been working on cleaning my house so that I can go to work Monday morning knowing things are all caught up at home.

We went out with 15 others this evening to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of friends of ours here in our park. A nice time was had.

Will be busy till I go to work and then hopefully life will slow down a little bit (not likely-ha ha).

Pat - You did a wonderful job on them.

Well, I got the emissions test done on my car today. It took all of 5 minutes and it passed. Now I just have to pay the bill. I then went to the bank and to the store. Then came home and fixed dinner. Tomorrow I will go out with DH as he has a big day. It helps him as he can take the diamond lane and get though the traffic.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Sandy it does sound like you got quite the bargain on those bowls. I love just going to browse. I don't do the antique stores much anymore-used to go a lot and had a lot in my home up north but either "gifted" them to the kids that expressed a desire to own them or sold them. Now I am trying not to collect things anymore.
I have been busy this week and almost have all my critters painted. They sure look better with nice vivid colors instead of faded, washed out blah! It has been a job but well worth it because I will get a few more years out of them so my work has saved me quite a bit of $$$.

This is my flamingo and Willie the gator which I refreshed.
I went down and worked with Sharon for about an hour this morning-I got a refresher as I haven't worked in the office for a year.
We are going out to eat a late lunch with Vickie & Sonny-today is their anniversary.

Another cloudy day, but hey, with the horrible rains and flash floods that they have been having in TX & OK I'm not complaining. For the last few days I've been in reading and listening to beautiful classical music. What have you all been doing?

Gail

Sandy: Your day sounds wonderful. If the weather clears up I'll go around to some garage sales. For the most part I just look. I'm definitely not in the market for acquiring things. Sounds like you got some good deals. I can just see you and Pat at garage sales. You two would have a blast.

Had a great day with my Aunt today. We went antiquing and I found these bowls that I have seen on line for $ 28 each. They are hard to find - Well, today I found them but, not in the in pattern as mine but pretty close. They were asking $ 14.99 for all 6. So, I ended up getting them as I knew I would never see them again. I also got my son 3 Beer Steins for $ 6 a piece. Then we went and got a bite to eat. It was a wonderful day.

Hope everyone a had a great day.

Hoping all of you remembered to take a moment at 3 today and say a prayer for all of our soldiers who gave all so we can enjoy the freedoms we do today. At this moment I have a grandson in law in Turkey serving with the air force. I pray every day that he comes home safe to his wife, my GD.
I think it is sad how so many forget the real meaning of this holiday. As a child, it was a big deal to my family to decorate the graves for Memorial weekend. It wasn't about a BBQ or a ball game, it was time to remember our loved ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

We are having a community dinner at 5 so I have prepared some dishes to take to that. There will also be a service honoring our veterans at the dinner.

Good Morning:

Well, it's been wet and gloomy here for a few days and today it is that way again. The lawns, trees, shrubs and spring flowers are loving it. Kinda cool yesterday, but is supposed to get up to the high 60s today.

We went out for my daughter's birthday dinner yesterday and it was wonderful. We ordered a bunch of stuff and then we all shared. I rarely drink but I had a bloody Mary with a beer chaser! Yes, for me that is something. Had a bit of a pull yesterday with my sil as we both fought for the bill. In some families folks fight over a bill splitting hairs when they divvy up. In our family everyone jockeys to pay the bill. My sil paid the last two times we went out so this time it was my turn. I told him I'd let him pay the next time and that I planned to order the most expensive thing on the menu. LOL. We don't eat out a lot, maybe 4-5 times a year, so it's not such a big deal. Aside from the birthday dinner I got my daughter some candy and a funny card.

Last night I watched the PBS Memorial Day concert on TV. The music was intertwined with stories of courage of veteran families where they cope with the loss of a loved one, or the major rehab of returning vets. Very sad what many families go through. Today my thoughts are with all of them. I think war deeply touches all those who have been in combat whether or not they return home with injuries. How could it not?

Sandy sound like you are going to get some ME time. That is always good. I don't think we ladies get that as much as we should. I wake up every day with an "agenda" or to-do list. DH gets up and eats and goes to the recliner and goes back to sleep. Something is wrong with this picture!!!
I finished painting my smaller critters today, got them sealed and they are back out in the yard. Now I have the 4 large ones to do. I have 2 large gators, a flamingo and a big bear with a cub on it's back that I need to give a fresh coat of paint to. The sun down here really takes a toll on everything and I seal them annually.
Want to go read some in the book I started yesterday. I want to get back into the habit of reading more. I let it go to the back burner while I was so busy in the gardens so time to do something for me!

Sounds like everyone is busy and has plans. I am not planning anything just watching old movies and relaxing. DS is going over to see his dad after he works. I told DH that I was tired and thanked them both. But, that I wanted to stay at home and relax. DH said he understood and he would see me on Tuesday. Will be calling the bank on Tuesday about the job since I haven't heard anything just to touch base. Then I am meeting up with my Aunt.

Hope everyone has a great day.

DG: I didn't realize your DD is living with you. You must have a big place to accommodate 4 adults, a baby and pets. Is this a permanent solution for your son and his family, or do they plan to look for their own place some time in the near future? So glad you are happy. Hey, that's what life is all about.

Hello Friends,
Sorry I made you all worry! Life is just so busy right now and doesn't look like it is going to be any better any time soon. But hey, I am happy so, it is what it is, I guess! I am glad I am well!!

Pat yes my kids are moving in. It will save them travel time and gas. We have the baby anyway so it will give DS more time to study and Ddil time to get more done. We all can split cleaning and laundry, cooking and dishes so it will really work well. The kids will be so glad to be out of the apartment. DD and I will be pleased to have more life at the house! ;-) Yes, it is a win/win situation! ;-)
Agree no since in using the A/C more than you have to. It has been nice temp wise here but the humidity has been really high.
Glad you found the computer charging problem!

Sandy no worries, I haven't floated away no matter what the news may say! ;-) Now you might find me in the rocker with a cute little boy in my lap!!! ;-) Yep, I am busy and happy!!

Gail I hope you find the answer to your heart gain and it isn't a hard fix. Nice to have a new mail box!! We are still allowed to have our mailboxes on our houses. I have a cute idea for a mail box if we ever have to have it moved.

Night All!!

Gail I did look today when I went into Office Depot but didn't buy as I purchased a new electric charger cord and that seems to have solved my issue. I would like to wait until the next edition of Windows comes out as it is supposed to be more user friendly.
We have a community dinner on Monday so will attend that but otherwise no big plans.

I've been living in my home close to 40 years and our mail box at the curb has been in horrible shape for over a decade. Today I bought a new box and mount only to learn that they wouldn't fit on the post. My very sweet and talented neighbor took it all apart, smoothed the rusted sections, and then repainted and mounted the old. It looks great. This lady is a wonder and such a good heart. Anyway, that "new" mail box makes me feel good.

Tomorrow I'm going to take my daughter and sil out for dinner to celebrate her birthday. No plans for Monday. How about you guys?

Gail

Sandy: Wonderful that you had a good sleep. You need that every night.

DG: I don't know what causes the heartburn, but I suspect it's weight gain. I've been eating less and earlier so that there isn't anything much churning around in my stomach by the time I go to sleep. That doesn't necessarily eliminate the problem, but it does help.

Pat: Glad you were able to diagnose the laptop problem and found an easy fix.

Val: You working Monday?

Boy, did I sleep last night. Did hear a thing. DS had gone out with friends and he didn't get home till 1am and didn't hear him at all. Usually would of been up waiting to be sure he got in OK. BUT, not last night. didn't wake up till 10am this morning. That is the longest I have slept in a long time. Just taking it easy this weekend. Meeting up with my Aunt on Tuesday and having lunch.

DG - Good to hear from you. About to send the search party out for you. You sound busy.

Pat - You have been a busy one as always.

Gail - how soon are you going to have your eyes done? Are you getting together with your kids this weekend?

Val - Don't work too hard. I hope you get some good rest over the weekend.

Nan - Do you have any plans with your family?

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Good to hear from you again DG. I must have missed it-are your kids with the little grandbaby moving in so they can save to buy a home? If so I am sure that will be a true joy for you and such a blessing to them. Glad to hear the flooding is not a big issue for you-you are correct as the news is making it look like all of Texas is washing away!
I had issues with my laptop again-this time the cord for the charging from the electric went kaput! I could not figure out why it just shut down last night when I had it plugged in but it said my battery was low-HUH? How can that be?? We checked the outlet and it was fine so by power of deduction I figured it was the cord so went today and purchased a universal cord and voila-back in business. Whew-thought I was going to be forced to get a new one anyhow.
I have been painting on my "critters" the past couple of days and have 3 completely done and several others in various stages of completion. I can only work in the Florida room till about noon as it gets too hot. I could turn on the a/c out there but see no reason to run up my electric bill even more. I have 13 that I want to get refurbished. The sun surely does a job on them so they need to be painted and sealed every few years and I decided to just do them all at once.
Since I walk first, I only get about 2/12 hours to paint but I will eventually get them done!

Hello Friends! My, my!! I have been MIA again! ;-) Getting things done and ready for the kids to move in! We have 2 weeks to move in day! ;-) They plan on being here until they can get a house. I am so glad they are coming. It will be a win/win for both of us. Everyone is happy with the situation.

Sandy sorry you have a hard time getting and keeping good workers! Glad DH understands it isn't just your company but all that are having a hard time. Hope you have found a replacement for DH's friend. Yep you are younger than me! ;-) Hope you get some relief from the sinus issues. They are bad all across the country this year!
My plans for the weekend aren't too different from the normal. Love the family time!!

Pat your Lady is cute!! Glad you got so much work done at the house. Hope you had a great time at the state park!

Nan I think Sandy must be younger than the rest of us too!

Gail could you figure out what caused your heart burn? I get it too and sometimes it is because I eat too late or don't drink enough water during the day. It always worries me a bit as I know it is a sign of heart attack too.

Val glad you had a good week at work! Hope this is a good one too!

We are getting more rain today. We are officially out of the drought and there are some flood warnings but not really as big a deal as the news is making of it. It is just we have been dry for so long that the people don't think about the dangers of water on the roads. It doesn't take much to make a car float!

Ok off to do more around here. Although I am enjoying a relaxing day! ;-)

Hope you all have a very happy and safe Memorial day!

Val so happy to hear you are getting the training in and enjoying it. I agree with the others that with your issues doing some packing of things you won't be needing is a good idea. When you do move will friends help or will you have to hire someone to do it?
Sandy sounds like a busy day for you. Bet you sleep well after all that work
My laptop decided now it isn't going to charge so back on my tablet. Guess I am going shopping soon. I painted today on my critters and got 2 done and 2 more almost completed. I had to go get more paint so ran errands this afternoon. That took care of my day

Val - Great idea on the boxes. Plus good idea on doing some packing ahead of time. I did that before I moved into our house and it made my life much easier. I packed everything that I wasn't using everyday. I even started doing some spring cleaning at the same time too.

Well, today I went out with DH to help him since traffic was going to be a little heavy, or so we thought. It worked out pretty good. We got the route all worked out and went to it. It was a overcast day and did rain a little. Luckily we only had 5 installs and 6 removals. I helped get the signs ready and cleaned them. Also cleaned the post and Flyer boxes. DH dug the hole and put the posts in. It was a lot of work and I am tired. Been going since 5:45am and got home at 1pm. I am now ready for a shower and my bed. emoticon I will sleep good tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. Anyone has any special plans?

Val

That's a great idea. For decades I used to beg my husband to just go through 1-2 boxes a week. There were 300 + boxes from his dad's home. So, after he died I had those plus all of Vic's stuff to go through. You'll be surprised how quickly it will go once you get started and make a little dent. Is there a friend who could help you? It would have taken me forever if I didn't have ongoing help from friends and family. If you can get help you might be able to get everything done in time to move sooner. In any case I wish you all the very best.

Sandy, I'm 50 and I wish I had half the energy that you have, much less the amount that Pat has. I think I'm going to go ahead and sign a lease for another 8 months in this apartment because I just can't seem to manage to get myself out to find a new apartment. I can only manage one or two things on my days off and I keep having other things to do that are more important because they have to happen more quickly. I don't think I can get it together before the end of next month. That's okay, I'll survive another 8 months here. I think that moving at the start of March will probably be a lot easier for my MS than moving at the start of July. But I have been saving up a particular size of box at work and I think that I'm going to start packing a box every weekend and putting it in my extra bedroom. That way I could actually accomplish something...

Work has been really good this week. I've finally been back training in the 2nd of my good departments. Because my training has been taking so long (literally years) and has been so broken up, I was afraid that it was going to take more than 2 weeks to finish it, but I'm feeling like maybe it won't. I've always been a good blood banker. It's the first department I did my clinical training in and the first department that I ever worked in. I worked in the department at this job until we got this new computer system at work. I got trained when it was first installed, 3 full 8 hour days that everyone got, but then not the 2nd part of the training that everyone else got where they worked one on one with the lead tech for the blood bank. I'm finally getting it and I'm loving it. I'm really going to love being a blood banker again. emoticon

Everybody have a great Friday.

There was much rejoicing!

Sandy we had a small business and finding and keeping good help was always a challenge. Both of our sons worked for Bill for several years. My older son worked for about a year but his trade was in heavy equipment and he moved into that when he got a chance as we knew he would and we encouraged it. Bill's son ended up buying the business from us and his wife ran it for about 10 years before selling it.
We were up early emoticon (me 6 am to walk) and on our way to the 1st of the state parks we visited today by 8 am. We ran into a bad accident on the way and had to take a long detour to get to our destination-De Leon State Park. They have an old sugar mill there and they have made it into a restaurant where we ate our breakfast. They are well known for their pancakes. There is a griddle in the middle of the table and you cook your own pancakes and eggs on it. They bring 2 pitchers of batter-one is a regular batter and the other is a multi grain batter. We had a nice time sitting and visiting with Vickie, Sonny and their company. We were happy we arrived not long after they opened as folks were having to wait to get in about 15 min. after we arrived. We walked around the grounds and checked out the museum before heading to Blue Springs State Park. In the winter the manatees flock in there to keep warm but none this time of the year. We did get in a nice hike and I have gotten in my 10K even with having some fun.

Pat - With all you do I hope I still have that much energy when I am my 60' s. emoticon

Feeling better today. Got some good sleep last night and I am taking it easy today. DH thinks he hurt his shoulder working. Which is not good as we have no worker to help us now. Thank goodness we have a 3 day holiday and he can take it easy. He and his sponsor are going out on his boat this weekend for a little while and having a BBQ. The have invite us over. DH has been doing really good. He has talked to a few other installer and has realized that they are all going through the same thing we are. So, he now has common down. It is just the driving up here that is really bad and very frustrating. One of our competitors said he loses more guys because of the driving. He has a hard time finding good help too. So we are not the only ones.

Well, I hope that everyone has a wonderful 3 day weekend.

Gail hope you are feeling better and that you have a better night. If you have bad heartburn again, it just might not be heartburn-remember we ladies experience heart issues a bit differently from men and some friends who have had issues have told me they thought it was heartburn!
Sandy I had much more energy when I was in my 50's. Every year since hitting the 60's has seen me slowing down some. I still go but sure tend to pace myself more- emoticon .
We finally got our house power washed today. I was up by 7 and moved more "stuff" out of our carport-we use it like a patio so have chairs, table, BBQ grill, etc in there. I have flower pots along one side of the house so had to move all that over by our neighbor's house, etc. I did part of it before heading off to walk and when I returned, Bill had finished things up. Pam didn't arrive until 10 and I left at 9:30 to go pick some fresh peaches and nectarines. Who knew we had orchards in Florida?? I didn't until last week. I went with a friend here in the park and we picked small baskets of both and I also purchased a small jar of fresh peach jam. Prices were reasonable-$1.50 a lb. I bought just enough peaches to make a cobbler which is now cooling! I bought the nectarines to eat and have shared some of both. I gave Pam some peaches and nectarines when we paid her for washing our home and gave Vickie & Sonny some nectarines-V is allergic to the skin on peaches so didn't give them any but I will give them some cobbler.
We worked this afternoon putting everything back in place after Pam finished and I washed down the chairs, tables, grill, etc. Now we are nice and clean for a little bit. I thought I might have to wash all the windows but they came out sparkling. I will do them as I clean each room but at least it isn't urgent. We were both sweaty messes when we finished so headed to get showers and then I took a 90 min. nap! Something I don't usually do but needed ti today.
I made the cobbler when I woke up and baked chicken for our supper while the cobbler was baking.
Tomorrow we are heading to another state park-figured it would be best to go before the weekend! We have a community dinner Monday so that is our big holiday plans.

Gail - in answer to your question. I haven't heard anything yet from the bank.

Got the garage door fixed this morning. So glad that is now working again. My allergies are driving me crazy and I have a starting of a slight sinus migraine. So, I am taking it easy today.

Hope everyone is have a good day.

Good Morning:

What a night! I had heartburn all night and was sucking on Tums. I get heartburn every so often, but never anything like this. Boy, I sure don't want a repeat performance.

It's cloudy, cool and overcast today so not much use spending time outside. With the wind the pollen and dust have been spraying all over I've been waking up with my eyes pasted together, even if I just go out briefly. Mostly, I've been indoors.

Any of you have plans for the weekend?

Well, ladies I am happy to say I am 56 yrs old. I did a few errands today and finally got my hair cut today it has been since March that I got my hair cut. emoticon Couldn't believe it has been that long. Went to the store to pick up a couple of things since it is going to be Memorial weekend this weekend. I don't want to go to store on Monday so just picked up a few things to hold us over till Tuesday or Wednesday. Happy for DH to have a 3 day weekend as he really has had a rough week this week. He and I talk and we think his friend is back on drugs as he says God told him he can't work as there as problems in the world and he wants him to take care of it. Felt sorry for DH as now he is back by himself again. Right now we are good. As I told DH there is always a reason for things happening.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Gail the hat most likely was originally a Red Hatter's pride and joy, but I bought it at a thrift store. I looked all winter to find a nice bright hat to put on my lady and this is the one I settled on. I found many hats but a lot would not fit the ball and others were not very colorful. I put it all together!

I was up by 5:45 this morning to make muffins for Bill to take to the clubhouse for their coffee and donuts. They usually go around 7 so I had to get them made before that. I made 2 different kinds and of course they called for different temps so had to bake them separately. I made banana nut (with flaxseed, oatbran and walnuts) and cinnamon streusel for the other batch. They managed to eat 2 1/2 dozen!!
After I got that finished, I laced up the tennis shoes and got in my walk. By the time I got home, Bill was here so he, Abbie and I did another lap.
I got busy at home when we got back. The weeds have had a nice drink of weed killer that had the nerve to pop up in my rock beds!!! I pull and pull and pull some more and decided it was time to show them who was really boss!!! Then I decided I had enough time to paint the big start we have hanging on the west side of our house. I managed to grab the wrong pain so ended up giving it 2 coats of paint to get it to match our shutters. We are finally to get our house power washed tomorrow and then we can start putting things back in place!! It has been off the walls and hanging out in the Florida rooms for almost 3 weeks as Pam's mother passed away and she has been taking care of things because of that. She just got back to work this week.
I had a ladies luncheon to attend and had to grab a quick shower and was picked up a few minutes after 11. There were only 11 of us there but it was a nice time to visit. I got back home about 1:30.
Bill & Abbie rode along while I ran some errands after that. I hit the stores on the west side of town. Went to Dollar Tree, Aldis, Rural King and Publix and we got back home a little after 3. I was disappointed that I was unable to purchase the pedestal advertised by Rural King. They had none available and shipping would cost me more than the pedestal so I will be checking out the thrift stores!
We are hearing thunder so I have a little furbaby wanting to be held. Not sure if we will get any rain or it will go around us again.
Hope all of you have had a Terrific Tuesday..

Pat: That looks like a hat one would wear to a RED HAT SOCIETY meeting. Love it! Did you do that yourself from scratch?

Sandy: Good lord girl, you deserve a break, a good long one. It seems if it's not one thing it's another. Hear anything yet from the bank?

DG: How long will your son and dil be staying with you? Are they looking for another apartment?

This is my lady!
I have to find the right pedestal to put her on and then decide where to place her but at least she is made.
I had big plans to get a lot done today BUT I got and invite from Vickie to join she and Sonny and their friend on the boat so.....being retired I made an executive decision to put off things till tomorrow or maybe the next day-ha ha and by 9 we were out on the lake. What a beautiful day to be out on the water. We saw 3 gators, several baby woodducks, lots of coots, several blue heron, a few osprey, and some turtles sunning themselves on logs.
I know it will soon be too hot to spend much time out there so this was a bonus day. I am glad I decided to just enjoy the day and not stay home and work!
This will be a very busy week with things on our calendar but that is what keeps things moving. Tomorrow I have a ladies luncheon and hopefully can get a few things done on my to do list. I did walk this morning and after our boat ride, I gave Abbie her bath so crossed off a couple things.

Well, the garage door is on the fritz. Just found out that the spring broke on garage door. They will be out on Wednesday to fix it. Now if only I could get a good worker. DH's friend needed today off as he was caddying for a friend. Then he needed tomorrow off as God spoke to him and told him that at 4:30pm tomorrow that there is going to be an earthquake. DH just informed me that he needs Wednesday off as he has to get his kids out of town because of the earthquake. So, I am not sure what is going on with him. Whatever drugs he used to be on has really messed him up as he thinks he is hearing voices and people are talking to him. I feel really sorry for him but, I can't have this again. DH said not to worry. I think we are going to have the guy we had before come back and help us. We know he is not reliable but, at least he gets the job done right and quickly. Until we find someone. I have an ad in but, so far all the ones I have called have not called me back. I am staying positive.

Have a great week everyone.

Happy Monday Everyone! Less than 3 weeks until my youngest and his family move in with us for awhile. The apartment living has been such a bad experience for them. If they live with me for awhile it will help us both. So it is a win/win situation. We are all looking forward to the time together. They have already asked what responsibilities I want them to take. I am blessed!!

Nan hope you get those errands run!

Gail you are right about the pollen counts!! So much rain, snow and ice that everything is well watered and growing like crazy!

Well time to put wash in the dryer and to get breakfast dishes done. Hope Everyone has a great day!

The pollen count has been high for about a week now and I've had to rely on my anti allergens. Where my son and his family live, in NC it's worse yet. I understand there are record counts this season. What crazy weather there is all over!

Hope you all have a good week.

Gail

To all you gardeners: It sounds great. I wish I could do it as well, but I know I can't do it by myself anymore. I have been considering getting a large tomato plant and putting it in a pot. Any of you ever do that/

Sandy can I order a bottle of that energy too. I am short today and it is going to be a long week!!
Glad you had some time with your Aunt!
Hope you got your chores done.

Pat is the bowling ball lady just a head or is it a whole person? It is amazing what you can do!!
Good for you for getting projects done and moving out!!

We are predicted quite a bit of rain this week. Think I better get a row boat. LOL

Have a great week!!

Working on the books today and relaxing. Another overcast day but, it is warm. The sun is playing peek-a-boo. I did do some work in the yard earlier. I moved some post around to make room for my new plants that I am planting. I am putting in some herbs in pots.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

This week I am working on finishing up projects all week. I got my bowling ball lady done today. So excited to have that done-now I have to find the perfect stand to put her "head" on and get her displayed.
It is hot here so had to move in from my Florida room. I am going to get my painting set up so I can work mornings on it this coming week. I am determined to get these things out of my other Florida room! Then I can bug hubby to finish up his cleaning in there!!! He says why should he when I still have a pile!

Val I'll send you a free bottle as soon as I figure out how to bottle it.

Did some running around and brunch with DH today. Stop by and saw my Aunt for awhile. It has been overcast all day but, it has in the mid 60's. So it is warm.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

DG I have been to all states but Maine and ND. We have camped in 45 of them so we have gotten around. I would love to go back east in 2016-God willing.

I woke up by 7 even though I didn't set the alarm so decided I might as well get out and walk! Bill & Abbie were waiting when I got home so did a round with them. I have done odds and ends of chores today-gave Bill a haircut, worked on the bowling ball lady, got my ironing caught up, ran to the Saturday market for some fresh produce and to the store for a few items on sale this week and now getting ready to go out for dinner. Nice Saturday!

Hello Friends!! Hope Everyone has a great Saturday!! Official word yesterday our 7 yr drought (3 yrs of severe drought) have ended. For April and May we haven't had this much rain in 20 yrs!! So thankful for the rain and the answer to so many prayers!! God is so good!!

Gail it happened again. I did answer but don't see the post! We don't usually play cards but are willing. Love table games and puzzles too. We went out to dinner twice as we had that already scheduled for Thurs and Friday. Thurs is usually a girls night out and Friday a group of us meet once a month to have dinner together. Last night we celebrated my birthday at the Italian Restaurant and we shared a piece of Chocolate Ganache Cake!! Oh my!! I am glad I just had a taste and didn't eat the whole piece! It is like a thick fudge frosting on a very moist chocolate cake! We also watched a movie since this friend is an RN and would enjoy a movie about a hospice patient. We also looked at family photo albums and shared family stories. A good way to get to know one another!
In TX we don't have basements. I sure miss them although with all the clutter I am glad we didn't have one more place to collect it! LOL I am continuing to make progress and am excited to move more things out!!
We are on high ground so never have to worry about flash flooding at our house. Just when we are out and about have to beware of water over roads. We know to never drive into moving water or water that is so deep we can't see the road beneath! It takes very little water to lift a car and make it float and then there is no traction and no way to direct it! Thanks for the concern and reminding me to be cautious!

Sandy if I can stay motivated I agree. Sitting won't help me get things done. I have more energy when I see things accomplished. When the ball is rolling it is better to keep it rolling! ;-)

Pat your trip sounds like it is really going to be fun. My day inoculated me with the travel bug. He wanted to visit every state in the Union before he died. He didn't make it but I have kept track of all the states I and my children have been in. I don't think I will make it but hey, I am young, maybe I will yet. LOL I would love to go to Canada too. Used to want to go to Mexico but not anymore. ;-)

Val I don't think you are any more irregular with your posts than I am! Good to see you here!!

Pat congrats on getting the computer back!! I am looking forward to walking again but will have to wait for the rain to stop. Am thinking about walking in the rain today but not if we have lightening!!

Hugs to all!

Val glad to hear from you. Do hope the day goes well in your bad dept. It is sad that we have to spend so much time working and often dread it. I was lucky that I always enjoyed what I did-some jobs more than others but always liked it. Looking back I wonder how I worked 60 hours most weeks for years but I did. I guess I always have been a bit crazy! emoticon
I am a happy camper. I got my by laptop back today. Now we will see how well it does. They had to take it apart and clean it out. Said the fan was running but not cooling and that is what was causing it to shut down.
I walked at 6:30 and it was cool then. Afterwards, I worked on the park gardens for almost 2 hours. Vickie came along and helped at the end and we tied up our trumpet bush- Until this year it had not bloomed much, but this year it is loaded and falling over the blooms are so heavy.
Just 2 more weeks until I go to work. Life will be quite different for the month of June. I will definitely have to be up by 5 on the days I work so I can walk before going in at 8.

Sandy, I'll take a bottle of that energy, please. I have been seriously lacking in energy recently and I'm not getting some things done that I really do need to take care of. Anyone want to find me a new apartment that's a bit bigger than the one I'm in and has a real air conditioner, and that I can move into on July 1st? I can pay you at least a buck for your efforts...

Sorry I haven't been around for a little while. I worked until 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning last Saturday night and I still haven't gotten rested again. Tonight someone asked me if I could work late because someone who was at work was feeling really sick. I told her that usually I'd do it, but I couldn't do it tonight because I'm still so exhausted. She stayed for our coworker instead. Hopefully I'll feel okay and be able to help the next time, but I've got to stop saying I'll help when I'm too tired to cope with it.

What I was really going to say (rather than just complaining about how much my job abuses me) is that I haven't posted recently because I stopped getting notifications for my groups again. I guess if I don't reply once in a while they just figure I don't care anymore. Anyway, I'm okay. Worked in my bad department today and didn't even get very stressed. Hooray! I'm working in that department again tomorrow and then in my better one on Saturday. Then next week I'm going back into the blood bank to work on getting retrained...for a while, anyway. For two weeks for sure, after that I don't know. Hopefully I can get fully retrained in that department in two weeks. I've worked in the blood bank a lot, just not much for a few years since we got the computer system from hell in that department. But I'm not going to be beaten by a doggone computer, so there!

I hope the week is going well for the rest of you and that you have a fantastic weekend. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

Gail trip won't be until fall. Looking forward to it. We will be heading west-from one end of the country to the other.
We had 8 for breakfast today. Electrician came before 10 and luckily no problem so no charge. We played cards with Vickieb& Sonny this afternoon and guys took 2 of 3 games
Glad I walked at 6 am as really warm this afternoon. Rain is missing us but humidity is bad

Gail - I wish I knew where I get my energy. I'd bottled it and sell. I just know I have things to do and I need to get them done and sitting on my rump isn't going to help me.

It is another overcast day here. No rain yet. I am meeting with my Aunt today and having a bite to eat and then going out for Ladies night.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Pat: Did I miss something? Are you planning a trip abroad?

DG: Glad you are having company this week. Sounds like fun. Do you play cards, go on outings or just sit and visit? BTW, where do you live? Hope your basement doesn't flood.. Those flash floods can be dangerous.

Val: How are you?

Sandy: Seems you're always on the go. Where do you get the energy?

Hello Friends,
We had over 2 ins of rain today. Rained really steady! Creeks are high and I hope local kids stay clear of them. It has been so long since we have had this much rain.

Lisa Wow ... snow!! Glad the squirrel is feeling better!!

Gail glad you enjoy reading so much since you have had such good book weather!!

Sandy hope all went well with your interview!

Pat humidity is just part of life most of the time isn't it? I get to where I don't notice it much but some do! Sounds like vacation plans are made and progress being made!!

Nan thanks for the good wishes! Found out yesterday a friend is in town and will come to see me Thurs and Friday nights. That makes it a good week. We will have a great Girls visit and I am sure we will laugh and eat way too much! ;-)

Good Night All!

Interview went well. We talked for about an hour. Which is a good sign. They said they would let me know in a couple of day. They are hiring a couple of people. So, now it is wait and see. Went to the store afterwards and the bank and picked up Rx. Then did a load of laundry. Now going to relax the rest of the day. It has been overcast and drizzling all day today.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Beautiful day here today. I'm indoors sitting by the window and reading. It's a bit too cool and windy to read outside.

Good luck on landing that job Sandy. Benefits sure do mean a lot.

It is so hot & humid here none doesn't want to be outside. I walk early and still get sweaty.
Computer is still in shop and this hunt and Peck with a stylus is not fun. Hoping I get bit back tomorrow

We had heavy rain & big thundersorm last night which had Abbie upset all evening. Might get more tonight. uGH

Been working in the office all day getting things cleaned up. I have an interview tomorrow with Chase bank for part-time teller. The benefits alone are well worth it just for part you get Medical, dental, vision and 401k. Just the medical plan would save me a bundle a month. So, will see what happens tomorrow. It won't interfere with my business but, will get me out of the house more. It is only 20 hrs. per week.

Weather here is very overcast but, the sun has popped out a couple of times. They keep talking rain. But, so far we have not got anything.

Hope that everyone is having a good week so far.

Hi All,

Just stopping by to say, "Hi", and hope you are all doing well. I've been reading a lot and started on the Inspector Adamsberg series by Fred Vargas.

It's very overcast here too, and today isn't much to write home about. Think it will be another good day to curl up with a book.

Well, we got our 5 inches of snow for Mother's Day! emoticon The dinner was cancelled so I was able to kick back all day. One of my sons called; the other one better still be in the field and not have his phone because I didn't hear from him (lol). Spent the afternoon watching the birds out the window with the cats. One of them came flying at the window and scared the cat so she fell off the window sill. It was pretty funny; she is kind of psychotic anyway. There were about 5 different kinds of birds out; I guess they were worried about the snow covering up their food supply. They even killed and ate one of their own; that was a bit disturbing.

This morning I looked out my window and saw something out in the snow that I couldn't identify, so when I left for work I checked it out and found it was a ground squirrel. I figured it would be dead and stiff, but it wasn't stiff so I brought it in the house and asked Tom to put it in a box, maybe it's just cold. I actually thought he'd probably just throw it out the door. However, he put it in a box and when I got home for dinner, it was moving around and quite alive. He ate up all the lettuce I gave him so I fed him some more this evening and I'll turn him loose tomorrow when it warms up a little.

Hello Everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!! I had a great time with the kids. I am so thankful they could all be at lunch together.

Pat you are so right. Kids don't know how to be responsible and feel the accomplishment from earning their own way. They really miss a lot!
Hope the car can be repaired easily and quickly.

Sandy glad you had such a wonderful time. How sweet of DS.

It is a quiet day around here. We need a good day of rest. It has been so busy for so long. ;-) Even the baby is sleeping a lot. ;-)
