Hello Everyone!

Pat- I am so sorry to hear that it is Chrons that your husband has. Bless his heart! I will keep him in my prayers and you! I hope you are able to find some way to help with the cost of the meds. My friend I grew up with Vicki has stuggled with it for about 20 year now. She lost a lot of weight from it . I worry about her right now because she is in the hospital. I hope he gets some relief from it soon.

I finally got some good news about my health. My stress test came back good so I don't have heart disease or blocked arteries. my heart is working good. I still have a echocardiogram on the 8th just to make sure. Today I saw the opthamalogist and my right pupil gets larger than my left pupil sometimes and he said it is damaged from either a bad eye infection or injury to that eye but there is nothing they can do about it. It just makes it harder to see distances and sometimes close up with that eye. But the good news there is no tumor with it and no chataracts or any other kind of eye disease. I do have my tear ducts stopped up so he gave me instructions on how to take care of them, eye drops and a antibiotic and will check them again in two weeks. If my eyes are clear he will do a eye exam for my yearly exam. So glad I got some good news.

Well hope everyone has a good night and day tomorrow!

Darla

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

Dusty sounds like a great time with the GK's. Glad you were able to enjoy the time with them.

Sandy it sounds like you are a busy lady also but have things under control. Before you know it, DS will be there and that will be a relief.

Well, we got the verdict today. It is Crohn's. The dr gave him a script and we went to get it filled. What a shock to the system-our cost after insurance $364,22. We can do that for a couple of months but not on an ongoing basis so going to have to talk to him if there is an alternative or find a program to help with the cost. I have been online looking and it seems there are some things to help with the cost, but the DR will have to apply so will be working on this for the next visit the end of Aug. I just don't know what people do to afford these medicines that are so costly.
Guess I am still in shock!

Pat -you are going to need another vacation from your vacation. You wore me out just reading everything you did before noon. emoticon

Doing laundry this morning and then out to trim the brushes. Then over to staples to pick up some items that I had copied. Then over to the warehouse to look for a sign for a client. I also have vacuuming to do and sewing. Then I think I can relax.

We made reservations last night for our son at two different hotels that we have have stayed at before. We used our points so it didn't cost us anything. So, we got that done. I am going to call our son today and give him all the information.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Hello Everyone!
Pat- Glad you made it home safe and glad your husband is feeling a little better. Hopefully just being at home again will be the best medicine for him!

Val- Glad you are feeling better and got things done at work. I am sure you do miss those two weeks you had off!

Sandy- Glad to hear you getting so much done as usual. I know you are looking forward to your son coming!

I left in the van at 730 am this morning and got there only to wait outside for about 15 min until they opened. The test was pretty easy but they did have to put medications into my veins several times and I am not sure if it was that or what but I got home about 10 am and took a nap until 1230 and watched some tv and ate and laid down on the coach to watch tv and fell asleep again and woke up in time for Erin to call me on her way home from work. I feel drained so I guess it was the medications they put in me or something. I don't know the results they said they would call if anything was wrong to see the doctor again. it was other people doing the test. So may not hear anything until after I do the echocardiogram on the 8th but they said no news is good news so that is good if I don't hear!

Going tomorrow to get my eyes checked by the othamalogist which will take about a hour. That is at 1 20 pm.

Hope everyone has a good night and great week!

Darla

Val Happy to hear that your mood is getting better. Not great to be in a pit and unable to get out. Sorry it didn't get there in time for your vacation. Hoping things keep getting brighter for you.

Sandy sorry your DS won't arrive till Mon but maybe that will give you a little time to relax this weekend before he arrives.

I have had a very busy day. I did sleep till almost 8 but hit the floor running after that. I did some necessary yard work before it got too hot and then got busy on the phone. DH has an appt. with the gastro doc tomorrow at 11. I have Abbie an appt. to get a haircut on Mon.
I have done 5 loads of laundry. I washed the car to get the bugs and pine tar off of it. I ran to Bealls and paid my bill there, then on to W-Mart to get a few things there and pay my bill there, gassed up at W-Mart to take advantage of their 15 cents a gallon off on gas, and last stop was at Aldi. All of that before noon! I even gave Abbie a bath too.
This afternoon I have called to get our newspapers restarted. Balanced the checkbook and did my filing. Now it is time to relax!

Pat - I am so glad that both of you made it home. Glad to hear that DH is feeling a little better.

Val - I am glad to hear that you have turned a corner. You are doing great.

Well, DH got a text from our son last night and he said he will be leaving Saturday Morning instead of Friday as his Aunt and him are going to spend the Friday together. I think she is getting the family together to say good-bye as it is very hard to get together with our son as he has been so busy. So, he will be here on Monday.

I have a few errors to runs and have to go to the store today to get some food.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Pat, I'm glad you that you made it home and that your DH seems to be feeling a little bit better. I think I have finally gotten sufficiently rested, don't know how long that feeling will last...

We've been getting rain here recently, thank goodness. emoticon We've really been lucky this summer, no major fires here so far. I'm sure there have been some but even though we've had very little rain so far this year, I don't think there have been any really big fires in the state this summer. I guess people are using a little bit of sense for once. The rain that's going on around the state has been keeping our temperatures from getting really high. We've been in the upper 90s a few days, but I don't think we've been up to or over 100 degrees so far this year. Hooray!! Of course, we still do have the entire month of August to deal with...

I've been feeling pretty good recently. For several months around that project at work that was due on the anniversary of my husband's death I was pretty down and really negative about life in general. I've been trying really hard to pull out of that pit for a while and I think that maybe I'm finally starting to turn a corner. Now if I could just do those two weeks of vacation again when I'm in a better mood...

I hope everyone is having a great week. I've got to go get ready for bed. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

We are home!!! Made it about 3:30 this afternoon. DH was in some pain but not as bad as before. I am going to call dr tomorrow and hopefully he can see him soon. If it gets as bad as it was Mon, then we will just go to ER. Such a relief to be here!!
I got the car unload and pretty much everything put away. So much to do tomorrow though. Lots of phone calls, laundry, bathe Abbie, etc.

Hello Everyone!

Pat- I hope you and your husband made it home safe and he can see his regular doctor and find out what is going on. Bless his heart! I hope he feels better soon.

Sandy- Sounds like you got a lot done on your house and I know you are ready for your son to come and excited about that! I can't believe it is August this weekend either! And my baby son will be 30 Aug 14th! He as grown into a wonderful man and good husband! I am so proud of him and Erin my daughter they are so grown up !

My caseworker was suppose to come today but I never heard from her so don't know what is going on. Tomorrow I am getting up real early because my stress test is at 8 am and they pick me up between 7 and 8 am so I have to get up early. I am eating some supper and watching Extreme Weight loss. I love this show!

Hope everyone has a good week!

Pat - I hope DH had a better night last night and that the two of you made it home safe and sound.

Val - You much of been tired. As I tell DH. If you need the sleep and your body is telling you so then sleep or rest as that is what your body needs right now. You work so hard and your up so early.

Well, I got most of my errors done yesterday and all the wash done. I just have the floors to do today and pull the weed in the back. Also cut the brushes in the back. I have new outdoor lights that I am putting out today also. I have one more Office invoice today and then I am done. I have the room all ready for our son and the house is just about clean. Just can't believe he will be here this weekend. Plus this weekend is AUGUST! where has this year gone?

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week.

Oh Pat, your poor DH. Being sick really stinks. But being sick when you're away from home and have to motor on to get there triple stinks. I hope you're both going to be okay, and maybe even get some rest soon.

Sunshine, I hope that the surgery goes well for you.

I got absolutely nothing done this weekend except a load of laundry that's in the dryer right now. (I almost forgot about it.) I made a list of groceries and I guess I'll go to WalMart after work tomorrow. I also need to pick up some more cat food, which I can do in the same shopping center but not after I get off work at 10:30. Luckily I always have a spare bag so my owners won't starve. emoticon emoticon

I hope that the week is starting out well for everyone.

There was much rejoicing!

Quick note-horrible night-DH was sick most of it and I have pushed hard to get us closer to home-550 miles today. I was ready to take him to ER this morning on the way - he talked me out of it as he wanted to get home to his own drs and this evening he admitted if we had been home he would have gone! Say a prayer that tonight goes better. I didn't get much sleep as I was up with him a lot last night so had to stop about 6 and we did get a bite and he was able to eat some. Pain is bad in his stomach. We still have 400 miles to go tomorrow but should be in to home by late afternoon.

Hello Everyone!

Sunshine- Prayers are with you that your surgery goes well and I am sure it will! You will feel better soon!

I had a good day yesterday and got up and around to go to sunday school and church. There were a lot of people there. Our church seems to keep growing and growing! Came home and took a nap . then talked to Erin and maddie on the phone. Maddie is so excited about starting school and being in the First Grade! She starts Aug 6 and meets her teacher aug. 5. so she is happy! I was able to send Erin a little money to help her get her school supplies so that will help .

Today I am up and waiting for my ride. I have a psychiatrist appointment today. I loved my psychiatrist I had for 3 years but she quit and took a job for another company so now I am stuck with this new man that I am not crazy about. I will see how it goes but I may end up asking for someone else. we will see how it goes today. it will take most of the day to see him and get back home since it is a long ways across town from where I am at to the clinic.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Darla

Well, I got most of the invoices done just have 2 more offices to go. I was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep on the couch. I went to bed at 8pm and was up at 6:30am this morning doing house work. Our son leaves this Friday to come up. It is hard to believe that he will be here this Sunday. WOW!

We made a deal with our gardener to get rid the weed on the side of the house. We had some tires that we were getting rid of and he had asked about them. So, we did a trade. We are giving him the tires in return he is cleaning up the weeds and then spraying to keep the weeds down. It is well worth it as the side of the house is the worse.

Just now need to go to the store and get food in the house. I have the A/C guys coming this morning as we found a leak in the unit between the floor and the unit. The cold air is blowing into the garage. So, I am having that looked at today and fixed as it is not normal for that to happen.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Sunshine - Prayers and hugs are with you on your surgery. I know everything will go well.

Pat - The two of you be safe. I hope DH is feeling a little better and makes it through.

Val - I hope you have a wonderful day off. Are you going to look for your TV today?

I woke up in time to watch the last 1/4 of the NASCAR race at Indy today. Wish I'd been able to watch more of it because my favorite driver actually won for the first time in a while. Hooray! emoticon Now I'm just tired and ready to go to bed early tonight. Need to do laundry and shopping for the week tomorrow. Hope the week starts out well for all of you.

We are on our way south-got away from our friends about 10:45 this morning. Betty fixed breakfast for us. DH is definitely not feeling very good but hoping he can make it couple of more days. We are still sticking to the backroads but will hit the interstate if he gets worse.
We made it to Seymour, IN which is SE of INDY and NW of Louisville. Hoping to get into Tenn tomorrow. I would like to go thru the Smokies IF he is feeling well enough. I just take things day to day.

Today I am finishing up on the end of the month invoices. I got most of it done yesterday. I was able to get all the wash done. Today I have the dusting and floors to do. Going to try trim the brushes in the back yard today as we are to warm up next week and I want to do before it gets too hot.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.

Hello Again Everyone!

Got to Wal mart and lately I have been using the electric cart to get around the store as it is so much easier and I don't spend as much money on food! I kept it under $100 and got some new things to cook. I got my glasses fixed so now I can see with both eyes again! Still had enough to send Erin money for Maddie's school supplies so that will help her a lot! They had single notebooks for 25 cents a piece so I got four to be able to write things down in and do my budget and just different ideas. I like having them around to write in. I was watching Dateline and I fell asleep but luckily woke up to see the end and now watching 48 hours. I will go to bed early tonight so I can get up and be ready for sunday school and church tomorrow. One of the women in the church is giving me a ride there and back home so that makes it much easier!

Hope everyone has a good night and a good day tomorrow!

Hello Everyone!

Sunshine- You are doing great ! Glad you are part of our team now! We all try to help each other!

Sandy- I know you are excited about your son coming! Sounds like you and your husband have it all planned out well for him to get there and I know that will be a relief for him to be with you guys and have some relief. That is amazing he can get all of his things into his car! that is good packing!

Pat- Sorry your husband is still not feeling well. I am sure once you guys get back home and into your own routine again that will help too. Glad you had such a good time on your vacation!

I was up late last night watching tv so it I am just getting around today. But fixing to call a cab to take me to wal mart so I can get some groceries and also get my glasses fixed they have a eye glasses place there. one of my lenses fell out but I have it I just need them to put a screw in it and put it back together for me. Glad the child support money came in so I can get some groceries and get some money back on my card so I can send it to Erin to help her get Maddie some school supplies. She starts First Grade Aug 4th! I can't believe how big she has gotten! she is growing up too fast!

hope everyone has a great day and good weekend!

Hard to believe but our week here is Michigan is almost over!! The time has flown by but DH is ready to go home!! We had planned to go see our kids in MO and then attend my family reunion on the 3rd in ILL but he has had a rough night and is having tummy issues so thinking our best bet is to ease towards FL so planning to do that in the morning. We won't rush it unless he gets a lot worse but we would both feel better being closer to his drs in case this gets into a full blown flare again.
We had a great time yesterday visiting with our friend, but it was a long day-we left here about 8 am and got back after 7 pm and driving time was over 3 hrs each way. I drove so I was really tired out when we got back.
We have had absolutely fantastic weather and enjoyed the cooler temps. Today it is back into the low 80s so more normal for here instead of the low 50's and 70's. Hoping we manage to miss the storms on the way home. If all goes well we will take 3-4 days going back so I don't get so tired. I like to drive no more than 6 hrs a day and then I enjoy the trip too.
Pat

I am proud that all of you are helping Sunshine and are sending her Private messages. Thank you. Well, it is another nice day here but, we are suppose to get hot again next week. We are to get into the 80's again. emoticon

My son will arrive August 3. We have him taking 3 days to get up here rather than 2. His father and I can do it in 2 days. He has gotten just about everything taken care of that he need to and is has decided to pack his stuff in trash bags (i.e. clothes) and all the breakable items in his suitcase as boxes would take up too much room as he has his TV to get into his car also along with his snowboard and golf clubs. Luckily there is no golf bag as that was something we were looking to get for him for Christmas. emoticon

Speaking of Christmas I have gotten some of my shopping out of the way already. I just need a couple more things and I am done. Sorry ladies, I shop all year long for good bargains and then put them away. The only problem is I forget some time where I put them, just like my mom. HA! emoticon

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! emoticon

Hi everyone, emoticon

emoticon emoticon I was wondering if I could ask for your advice, emoticon emoticon

I am asking for your advice, your opinion and your objective approach to the following situation because I think maybe I am not seeing something possibly or maybe I am right in my thinking.... please advise.

emoticon Here is the situation:

I have known this friend for about 20 years, both around same age and recently we got really close.

She shared with me that she bounced a $900 ck years ago and the court contacted her the other day stating that if the bounced ck was not paid that she could go to jail for one year. I became worried.

I had loaned her $500 in February and she paid me back in March.

Could I have loaned her the $900 from my savings, yes BUT

I did not offer because I loaned her $140 in May and I said she could pay me like $20 per month but she has not paid anything yet (even when I reminded her that the $20 pymts should start).......
so I became reluctant to loan her more money. (women are natural care givers and givers period but we also are not stupid when it comes to money... we tend to learn from current or prior experience, especially when it comes to money).

So I decided to email her son and asked him if he could help her and I even told her that I did it.

She got upset that I went to her son and literally ended our friendship because of it. no joke.

She even stated that her and her son are very close and he knows "everything."..... then I wondered then what was the REAL issue if he already knew and had the means to help her I wondered? I became a lil confused...

I spoke on the phone with her and said people make mistakes and no one is perfect, are you really going to throw away 20 yrs of friendship over an error in judgment really? She said YEP! I asked again, Seriously for real? She replied yep. She said you don't go to my son and repeat what I told you.

She asked me why I did it. I explained that before surgery I wanted to make sure her situation was taken cared of because that's what friends do they try to help and asked for her forgiveness for crossing the line because she was clearly upset.

She said that's why she doesn't get close to people because they break her trust. She said she needed some time. I let her be.

**** Quietly inside I resented the fact that I put myself in a position to have to ask for forgiveness to continue a friendship.... I didn't like that at all to be honest but I did ask for forgiveness. Her response was that she needed some time... don't know if that is days, months or years.... but the ball is in her court.

emoticon My thoughts:

1. Even when I reminded her that no one is perfect, humans make mistakes, she would not budge….. that concerned me because it appears that our friendship is "contingent" on me never making a mistake or an error in judgment.

2. If one can throw away a friendship in a blink of an eye….. then maybe it wasn’t a real friendship in the first place. I felt like a disposable something that could be tossed in the wind when no longer needed… how immature I thought. How flaky was our friendship anyway?

3. I even wondered what if she wanted out of the friendship all this time and this was the perfect excuse for her to end it?

4. But most of all, it hurt that I was so easily disposed like yesterday’s trash.

5. If we make up…. I wonder is this the kind of “conditional” friendship I want in my life?

~or~ am I over-reacting?

emoticon What do you think please? and feel free to be completely open and honest please, even if I am wrong = I really need to know please.

thanks :)

hi everyone emoticon

Pat (Frosty) = yes this high protein and low carb diet is in preparation for the surgery as it will cause the size of the liver to reduce in size to get access to the stomach surgery.
So glad you and your hubby got a chance to walk and read, and play cards…. sounds so lovely.

Darla = glad you got to go to the doctor for tests and also happy you participated in xmas in July, how wonderful! And happy for you that the weather was 80 degrees, yeh!

Vali = that day that I didn’t take my meds was for ONE day as the next day was payday so I could get my prescriptions sincerely, I take my meds daily  and thank you for being concerned, smiles.

Srivers = it was the day before payday that is why no meds, I assure you I did get my meds the next day and take them daily, thank you for caring  Congrats on working on end of the month invoices, yeh!!!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Good to hear from everyone! Hope all of you are having a good Friday and have plans for the weekend! I have to get some groceries tomorrow. My child support money came in today but I did so much yesterday that I think I am going to just rest today and go tomorrow to get some groceries.
I had a great time at the Christmas in July at my church last night! There were about 10 booths of women who had things to sell. Some really cute things but I didn't have money to buy anything but did put in a order for some things by Christmas. We had all kinds of really good minutrue meat food! We had meatballs , mini tamalas and rice, then some little chicken things made with crescent rolls and fruits and a dessert! It was good! I just sampled a little of all the meats. it was fun! I was sitting outside on a bench waiting for my ride to give me a ride home after she cleaned and it was a breezy warm beautiful night last night about 80 degrees and just enough wind to make it so nice.

Hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend!

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

Just stopping in. Working on the end of the month invoices to get it ready to send out. Also doing cleaning and finishing the wash.

Hope everyone has had a great week. Enjoy your weekend.

Dusty - Nice to hear from you.

Pat - Glad that you are enjoying yourself on your vacation.

Darla - Glad that the doctors are helping you. Just listen to what they say and follow what they tell you as it is very important. Especially for that grandchild.

Vali - Glad it has cooled down for you.

Sunshine - You are doing great on loosing weight but, be care of about the meds. It is important to take meds as prescribe by your doctor. We just care and worry.

Have a fun weekend!

Sunshine, does your doctor know that you're not taking your prescriptions? If not, please tell her/him the very next time you see her. I'm really not trying to boss you around, it just scares me when people say they've stopped taking their meds.

There was much rejoicing!

Hello Everyone!

Sunshine- You are doing great! hope your surgery goes well too and you start feeling better!

pat- Sounds like you guys had a great time at the flea market! I love flea markets. We have a big one here but I have never been to it. not sure whether there is a bus that goes there or not. Have fun visiting with your friend tomorrow!

I went to my family doctors office and they tested my arms legs and feet to make the blood was flowing in my arterial vein from my heart to my limbs. She said the numbers look good but the doctor still has to check it for the flow and make sure it is all okay so I will follow up with her in sept at my appointment unless they see something else. So I was glad to hear the numbers were good!

I an leaving on the bus about 6:30 to go to Christmas in July at my church. Women who make things bring them to sell and they have snacks and it is a lot of fun! I don't have any extra money to spend this year but I will look and I can place a order for Christmas. So looking forward to spending time with my church friends!

Hope everyone has a good night!

Darla

Sunshine that is awesome-I know you are getting ready for surgery so is this diet in preparation for that?? Hoping that things are going better for you and that surgery goes well also.

We slept late this morning-I think DH was totally wiped out after all the walking we did yesterday. I stayed up late and read till almost 2 am-something I NEVER do but it was nice. I got up and read some more this morning. At home I rarely find time to read so doing me some good to relax and not worry about what I need to do next.
Betty & I ran to town about noon and got stuff to make tacos tonight. Not doing anything much-we played a game of cards and now everyone is resting again-they didn't get much rest at the hospital so they too are wiped out. Tomorrow we have a full day planned. Going to visit a friend who is 150 mi away so will be 6 hrs on the road!

Much cooler out today-got down to 54 overnight and high of 73 today!

Pat

We had a great day at the flea market. We have a huge one in Webster, Fl but this one is even bigger. I got in 9800 steps just walking it all! Bill really got tired out-he is not used to all the walking. He found benches along the way and sat some of the time.
We were up quite early, got our showers and on our way by 7:45 this morning. We arrived in Shipshewana before 9 and had breakfast there. That is another story. Our waitress evidently didn't turn in my order as others were getting their food and they came in after us!! I asked her about it and she waited probably another 15 min before checking. Needless to say she did not get much of a tip!! Bill ate off the buffet and was done long before I ever got my food.
We didn't purchase anything today-no room to haul a lot home but enjoyed just looking at everything. So many pretty yard decorations and I have another idea to make something for the gardens from the trip so worth it. We were lucky-day was cooler-about 72 and overcast so perfect day for this.
Boyd made it back home this afternoon. He has two more fractured vertebrae, but for now the dr doesn't want to do anything. Thinking that they will heal on their own if he is careful. They got his bowels to move some and he is on prescription medicine now and orders to eat more fiber, drink more water and MOVE!
Not sure if we are going to visit another Fl friend tomorrow or not-she has not called. She is having health issues also so if not, guess we will just find something else to occupy us.

Pat

Hello Everyone!

Pat- Glad you are having a good time! they have checked my thyroid and it was fine. The cardiologist said he would be able to help me feel better so I am sure after the two heart tests they will know something since they will be checking the arteries and valves in my heart to make sure I don't 'have any blockage . Tomorrow I will be having the arteries checked in my legs and arms to see if the arteries are blocked there. So between the tests for heart and legs I should be able to find out what it going on . I have a friend who has Chrons and hers has got so bad they had to put a port in for her nutrition and she got a blood infection the other day and is still in the hospital running tests. luckily it did not hit her heart so I was thankful for that. She has been through a lot with it. I hope your husband doesn't have it . I will keep both of you in my prayers.

Dusty- Glad to see you post again and hope you get your internet fixed.

Val- Hope you continue to get some more rain! I saw on the news yesterday where new mexico was getting some rain. We sure need some more but just sunny warm days this week.

Sandy- Sounds like you are getting a lot done! keep up the good work!

I got up kind of late today. I was really tired last night so I slept a lot. Just been watching TV and playing on the computer. Tomorrow they will pick me up for my appointment at 120pm at my family doctor's office and a different nurse will perform the pad test to see if my arterties are blocked in my arms and legs. So glad they are doing that test . Then next week I will be super busy with 4 appointments.

Hope everyone has a good night!

Darla

Val - Nice that it has cooled down for you.

Pat -Glad that the two of you are having a good time and are relaxing.

Dusty - I am glad to hear from you. Hope you get your computer up and running soon.

The problem with having a maid is I really like doing the work as it gives me something to do. I have the business under control now so I have a lot of time on my hands. I have a system and DH just understand it. I work on the upstairs first one day the downstairs the next. I no more get it cleaned and he dirty it's. So, he thinks that it's not clean and it is too much work. So, that is why I don't want a maid and why it is mot worth it to me to have one.

Today we finally got a really good rain. Boy, do we need it. The guys that have been fighting the fires really need the help to get the fires under control. The problem now is the mud slides due to the fires.

Well, I have the invoices to do today and the kitchen, den,living/dinning room to clean.

Hope everyone has a great day.

We've been having rain recently (hooray!!) and so it's been a bit cooler. We have not hit 100 yet this year, though we have done 98 and 99 a few times. I'm loving the cooler temperatures, but we've also been having 40 to 60 percent humidity, which is just miserable to those of us who liver where the humidity is usually less than 10 percent. Oh well, we do need the moisture pretty badly.

Started my work week today and man alive, were we busy all day! Makes the day go by quickly, but it would be nice to be able to just sit and breathe a few times on my shift. (Getting a dinner break once in a while would be good, too. emoticon ) I hope the week is going well for the rest of you.

There was much rejoicing!

Lots happening on here all at once. Glad to see more posting. We have had a beautiful day here in lower Michigan-about 86 but low humidity so was outside most of the day. Our friends had to go to Dearborn-he isn't feeling good (had back surgery a few weeks ago) and she had to go to closing on her mom's house-she passed away this winter and the kids are selling her home and all have to sign off on it. We ate breakfast together and then they headed 2 hrs away and we have been on our own today. We sat out and DH dozed and I read and about 2 we went into town and I got to have Culvers. We don't have any in FL or at least close to us-I love their grilled cashew chicken salad.
When we got back, I did our laundry and now everything is clean again. I decided to not bring a lot of clothing-that I would just do laundry 2 or 3 times on this trip. People won't be seeing us again and again so they won't know I didn't bring a lot of clothes! emoticon
I am waiting now to hear if our friends are coming back this evening or not. If not, they will stay with their daughter in town. If so, we have to figure out what we are going to do tomorrow! We had things planned out for the week but this wrinkle may change things for us.
emoticon But we will survive!!
Val glad you got your license renewed. We get ours for 8 years and we can then renew the next time online but the following time must go in again. That will be the next time I must renew.
Darla have the dr's checked your thyroid? Sometimes that can be out of whack and cause one to always be tired. Just a thought. Also, they are finding that the bypass surgery is having great results in helping to reverse diabetes in a lot of people. Another thing to talk to your dr about.
Sandy I used to have a cleaning service when DH #1 was alive-I worked full time, went to night school, had 2 boys to run after and even bowled in a league so met myself coming and going so it was nice. My work had set it up for me for 6 weeks when DH had major surgery and I decided it was nice so had them come every 2 weeks. Made my life simpler but haven't had the service since he passed away 25 yrs ago. Something I will consider again in the future though.
Gail glad to hear all is well. Hope you are enjoying time with your grandson.
Sunshine will be praying that all goes well with your surgery. Anytime one goes under the knife there is a bit of anxiety. You are to be commended for adopting those 2 furbabies. I am sure they are happy to be in a loving home getting the care they deserve. I will never understand why people get animals if they don't intend to care for them. I also have an issue with folks who don't spay and neuter their animals-that is why there are so many up for adoption. I think it should be mandatory unless you are a breeder. We are definitely missing our little furbaby-Abbie. Call daily to check on her!!!! She is being spoiled rotten by our friends. Probably won't even want to come home when we get back. That would kill her daddy.
DH has been having stomach issues and has been tested for Crohns. We won't get the results until we get back home from this trip. I am happy that he seems to be doing pretty well. It was a rough start but I have tried to keep him eating small meals and drinking enough and taking his prescription medicine to coat the stomach and it seems to be keeping things fairly calm-he still has a lot of cramping, etc.

Hello Everyone!

Sunshine- So happy to hear you are approved for your surgery! The cardiologist talked to me about the exact same surgery and he is doing a referral if my insurance will take it not sure just in the beginning of doing a referral . I was wanting to talk to them about it. I look forward to hearing from you more about it. I know it will make you feel so much better! I hope it goes well for you and don't blame you at all for taking the whole month to recover. I have had a lot of surgeries and it takes a long time to recover! Way to go! :)

Sandy- It is really nice to have someone come in and clean once in a while. I can't afford it very often in fact the other day was the first time here in san Antonio. I use to do it in when I lived I Oklahoma for 11 years but lived here in sa since 2011 and never had anyone clean. I am going to work on my apt today too. I can only do a little at a time because I have no energy and get out of breathe so easy. But do want to get done what I can. so we both will have a clean home today!

Gail- glad to see you post again! Hope you are having a good day!

I just got up so thought I would say hi! I am going to put on my KLOVE radio contemporary Christian music and clean and when I am done read on my book.

Hope everyone has a great day and your week continues to go well!

Darla

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

Sunshine - You are a special to do that for the dogs. You are in my prayers for your surgery. The bypass really work as long as you follow the doctors orders. I have seen it worked. I worked for a doctor that was involved in the process. emoticon

Gail - Nice to have you pop in.

Val - Every once in a while it is OK to eat something bad. Wendy's isn't too bad. I hope next Friday you are able to find a nice TV for yourself.

Well, I am just taking it easy today and doing laundry and some house cleaning. DH wants to to a maid in and I don't think we need it. He loves to make messes and then leave them. Then says he will clean it later. 2 hrs later it is still there. So, I do it as I don't like looking at it. Just want to save money. I love doing the house work.

I hope that everyone is having a great week.

hi everyone emoticon

Sorry haven't posted much, am getting ready for surgery... gastric Sleeve bypass surgery that is. Surgery is scheduled for 07/28/14 on Monday. Lawrd knows I have been waiting for years to get this approved and FINALLYYYYYYY my insurance is paying for it.. well 80% of it and I have to come up with the rest.

At my surgery consultation appt.was on 07/15/14 = I weighed 333 lbs at 5.7"

My pre-op appt is on 07/24/14 Thursday where they will do blood work, x-rays, etc.

There was appts and paperwork to fill out for work to take off work for a month. Thank goodness for the Family Medical Leave Act :) It is officially 2 to 4 weeks for recovery.
I probably wont need a whole month off but I need a break from work I tell ya, so I don't care how bored I get at home I am STILL I am taking my FULL month off work I tell ya. I have been working there for yearsssssssssssss, I deserve a break! LOL.

emoticon emoticon I recently took my 2 babies for a dental check up, the bill came out to $650 emoticon .... one does what they have to to keep their babies well and safe so it was worth it. My dogs are like my babies emoticon

One is a poodle that I noticed in my neighborhood every now and then, the dog's hair was just matted from neglect, so I took the dog into the pound. A month later, I called to check on the dog to see if the poodle got adopted and come to find out he had not gotten adopted and had kennel cough and I just cried thinking if I had not taken the dog to the pound, he would not have gotten sick. So I scraped up $300 and adopted the white poodle myself. The pound did cut off his hair, thank goodness.

My next dog is a terrier. It was the 4th of July and it was raining really hard and fire crackers were going off all night and I had opened my front door and heard this kind of a deep cry from a dog like the dog was suffering. In the rain me and my son drove around trying to find the dog to help the dog, not knowing where the sound was coming from. We came home and come to find out the sound was coming from 2 houses down the street. He only weighed like 7 lbs, poor baby, skinny and soaked and NO shelter to protect him from the hard rain and he was restraint by a leash to a pole on the side of the house. I rang the door bell, no answer, so we took the dog.

Come to find out from my neighbors, that the family went on VACATION and abandoned the dog. who does that? and do you know when they returned from vacation, they never asked if anyone seen their dog. Even the little boy passed by my house saying that was his dog that was sitting on my porch and my son said tell your mom or dad to come here. Do you know they never came to inquire about the dog or claim the dog. so we adopted him too.

It urkes me that people can be so ..... I don't know. anyways...... both dogs go for their yearly check ups, etc. They are in-house dogs and get plenty of love and attention from us.

emoticon okay so I am playing catch up to all the posts so here it is:
(hope I didn't miss anyone, hugs)

emoticon Darla = I am so glad that they fired your previous doctor and part of the staff and glad you got a new doctor, yeh! I love your honesty about mentioning how you did not tell your doctor about all of your symptoms, I get like that sometimes too. I hope the bug guy came when you expected it and I think it is so cool that you bike ride and walk to the mail box to get your exercise in, yeh! I bike ride also, it just gets frustrating because my bike weighs 50 lbs and its hard to get it on the bike rack on my car to drive to the park and ride my bike there. I am afraid to ride my bike in the street because too many dogs around. Glad you were able to get some artificial tears to help your eyes and high five for being a member of weight watchers, yeh! Sorry about James Gardner passing. Hope your cardiologist appt went well. You mentioned you have sleep apnea, I do too. Had to send back my oxygen machine though that I used at night. Reason: couldn’t afford the monthly payments of $50 per month.

emoticon Frosty = congrats on getting your plastic Santa at the yard sale, how cool is that? Yahoo! I hear you about not being ready for vacation; time goes so quickly doesn’t it? Lol. Glad you got to go to church and go out for Sunday dinner. Sorry about your DH not feeling well. Sorry about the groomer not being able to groom the pet but am sure you did a great job. Congrats for packing for vacation! Sorry your DH had a rough nite… will keep you in our prayers for sure. Sorry you hurt your knee trying to take photos, hugs. Glad you made it safely to Michigan, yeh!!! Can you share more about your hubby if you feel comfortable in doing so.. how is his health going. Why wasn’t he feeling well. Again if you don’t feel comfortable sharing I truly understand as some things are private, hugs.

emoticon Golddust twin = Novel reader, that’s pretty cool that you love to read, smiles. Glad you got to go to your pre-op appt. and congrats on your blood pressure being the lowest its been in a long time, yeh!!!

emoticon Nan041 = Hope you enjoyed the sunshine this past weekend as you planned too and sorry it rained the next week, hugs.

emoticon Srivers1 = glad you was able to have a wonderful lunch with your aunt and uncle, celebrating his 98th birthday, aaawwww. That was so sweet. Congrats that your son is coming home to stay… there is NO place like home, smiles. And how wonderful that your daughter is moving out there also, yeh! Congrats on doing some landscaping and I loveeeeeeee mulch… it looks so pretty.

emoticon Vali = Hope you were able to get some relief from the ants. So happy you are got the cats teeth checked and cleaned and hope the cat feels better soon, hugs. Didn’t the vet give you pain meds for the cat? Please keep us posted. Glad Luna is feeling better. I hope Cali stops picking on poor Luna, sighs. Congrats on dying your roots.

Girlllllllll I took my two lil doggies (that I adopted recently) to get their teeth cleaned a week ago and was happy that I found a vet that cleaned teeth for only $125 for each dog (they usually run upwards of $200 to $400 here). So I was ready for a $250 bill and maybe a few dollars higher for a tooth extraction in the poodle. Doing my research PRIOR to going to the vet, I learned that poodles are MORE prone to tooth decay :( . Girl when I went to pick up the dogs at the vet, the terrier had one cavity which meant one tooth extraction and the poodle had SIX, yes SIX cavities which meant six extractions, I was like what???? I wondered if my baby had any teeth left, but she had a lot left. The bill = $650.00!!!!!! I was like oh my god! I said okay here is $425 and the balance I will have to pay in about 2 weeks as I wasn’t prepared for THAT large a bill. Geesh! But at least my babies are no longer suffering from poor dental health pain any more . Sorry about your grandparent having dementia. Glad to hear you get to get your new drivers license today…. Yeh!!! For my drivers license I dress up from the waist up for my photo. LOL Good luck in finding your television, I am sure you will shop around for the best price for you.

Have a great day all :)

When I got done with the license stuff I was starving so I went to Wendy's and got a hamburger instead of going to look at TVs. Guess I'll get to that next Monday when I'm off again...and hopefully I'll eat better for the rest of the week than I did today. emoticon When I got home I folded the laundry that I washed last night, which is really good for me because I frequently don't fold anything other than the things that have to be hung up until it's time for next week's laundry.

That's really about all that's going on around here at the moment. Back to work tomorrow, hopefully it will be a good week. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

Hello Again!

Saw the cardiologist today and they ran a ekg but he never said much about it but was very concerned about family history of heart problems and diabetes and me having diabetes and high bllod pressure and sleep apea. I can't do anything without just being exhausted and out of breathe. He was very concerned about that. So I am doing a stress test on July 30th and a Cardiogram on August 8th just to check my arteries and heart valves and make sure they are working good. Then Thursday I see a nurse at my doctor's office who is running a test to make sure the arteries are not clogged in my limbs so I dont' lose a limb to diabetes. Then next week I see the othamologist for my eyes. So will be glad to get all of these tests back and maybe get some answers as to why I am so tired all the time when doing hardly anything. I did really like the cardiologist. I told him what my Dad died of in 1975 which was a rare blood disorder called Amyloidosis and he said they still don't know anything about it even after all these years! That is sad. It is fatal and it hit my dad so quick that we only had him for a few weeks. Just bleeding internally and no way to stop it. Sure hoped they knew more now for other people.

Pat- Glad you are having fun on vacation! I would miss my tv too! I have certain shows I watch all the time and have a DVR to record things too.

Val- Hope you found a TV you like! That would be fun to shop for something new!

Hope everyone else had a good day!

Darla

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

Good to be hearing from everyone-Val I hope you found a tv. Never good to not have one=we are living without one this week so we are in withdrawal mode! Thank God the DVR is recording things for us at home!
Darla I hope you get some answers. It is good to know what one is dealing with but I imagine it will take time to get tests run, etc.
Sandy sounds like you are keeping busy too.
We slept in this morning and haven't done a lot. Betty & I went to town for a couple of things. We ate leftovers from our dinner last night for lunch and then played cards this afternoon and made a huge salad with chicken in it for dinner. Taking it easy now. Our friends have to go to Dearborn tomorrow so we will be on our own-not sure what we will do. I may do a load of laundry! Exciting isn't it.

Hello Everyone!

Pat- So glad you made it there safe and I am sure you will have a great time with your friends! Glad you are feeling better and hope you husband feels better soon.

Val- Glad to see you post again and your weather is about the same as mine. It has not hit 100 here but keeps coming close! I am glad it has not been over 100 yet!

Sandy- You stay busy as always! Glad your business is going so well and I know you are excited about your son coming!

Sunshine and Dusty - We haven't heard from the two of you in a while! Hope you both are doing good!

Well I am up around 12 noon today and just getting ready for my cardiologist appointment. They are coming to get me at 1 pm so I have a little time to take my meds and find me something quick to eat. They said the appointment will take about a hour then I have to wait about hour for them to pick me up and then home. So it will be a long day. Not sure I will find out a lot today about my heart but hopefully may know something. I am anxious to hear what he has to say. I will update you later.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Darla

I'm happy to hear that you guys arrived safely. The weather has been nice here, too. We've had temperatures up to about 97 this month, but it hasn't felt as oppressive as those temperatures usually feel to me (except when it's about to rain and it's humid). I'm ready for summer to be over, but oh well. So rough to be me. emoticon

I have to go get a new driver's license tomorrow. Our licenses expire a month after our birthday so I have to do it this week and I never want to count on being able to get up and do something on my way to work, so it has to be tomorrow. I hate having my picture taken, but at least I'll finally get my full last name on my signature this time. (4 years ago I didn't sign very well and it's missing part of a letter. emoticon ) Then since I'll almost be at Best Buy, I'll stop by there and take a look at TV's. I have a tiny little one in the bedroom and it's really starting to lose it's picture. I hope the week starts out well for all of you.

There was much rejoicing!

We have arrived in Michigan-weather is beautiful. Glad to not have to travel for the next week. We plan to relax, visit and I want to try to read some. DH is still having issues but nothing too bad so far. Hoping he can handle a couple of more weeks of this. Will finally get the results of all the tests when we return home. My knee is much better today and back seems to be ok.
Sandy glad your son will arrive soon. Sure you will enjoy his help.
Darla it sounds like you had a nice day at church. It is good to get with others and have a good time.
Sunshine it sounds like you are busy working in your yard. I worked a lot in mine before we left. It always makes me feel good when it is done and looking nice.
I have Wi-Fi here at the campground but it is slow but I will try to post when we aren't busy.

Hello Again!

Well I was happy my friend picked me about 9:15 and got to church in plenty of time for Sunday School which is great and the sermon was great. A friend of mine at the church is having a baby girl so we had her baby shower today which was so much fun! There is a pizza place right close to the church parking lot so I walked over there and got some chicken nuggets and walked back and waited for the baby shower. she got so many tiny cute things! We played a few games then one of the women gave me a ride home! It was so much fun! I enjoyed being around the women in the church. Thursday night we are having Christmas in July and women in the church who make things bring them and we can buy them then or order them for Christmas and they always have snacks. It is a lot of fun so hopefully I won't forget to go Thursday!

Sandy- Sounds like you are doing a lot to get ready for your son and I am sure he can help you a lot.! my son is good about helping me with things if I need it when he has time. He goes to college and works so he don't have very much free time.

Sunshine- Your yard sounds great! I am sure you are glad to get it done. Glad to see you posting!

Pat- I am sure you have almost made it to your friend's . So happy your trip is going so well. hope you and your husband are both feeing better.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Pat- I am glad that you are almost to your friends place. You will be able to rest then and so will DH. Car trips are great but, they can take a toll.

Val - I am glad that the cats are both doing good. Sorry to hear about the computer but, glad you were able to get it fixed.

Sunshine - Nice to see you here and hear bout what you are up to.

I am going into the warehouse today to do some work for a little while. Cleaned the room for my son and got all ready for him. I am going to finish up on the yard work this week and then when my son comes I am going to have him help me with the mulch. I just have a few things to do around the house and then I have the invoices to start for this month.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I am up at 7 am to get ready for Sunday School and Church. Today I have a friend from church who is coming to get me so I don't have to ride the bus! Yeah! So I am happy about that!

But sad to open my email to see that James Garner the actor died at 86 years old. I lived in Norman Oklahoma before I moved here to San Antonio Texas and they had a statue built in his honor while I was living there since he grew up there and he was there! I got to hear him talk at the dedication and got a fast picture with him and patted him on the back as he walked by and even then he was 78 and having a hard time walking . I really liked his movies and him playing on Rockford Files. I dated his 3rd cousin in Norman for 4 years but we broke up when I moved down here. Too far away for a long distance relationship. He said norman would always be his home. he will be missed!

On a brighter note Erin went to Roxanne her best friend's house for Roxanne's going away party. Rox got a job in California so she will be moving soon. So Erin and Maddie were over there. She posted a picture of Maddie in a Santa Claus hat that said Merry Christmas in July! They look like they were having fun and I am sure I will hear all about it on the phone later today!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! It is suppose to be 94 today and very little chance of rain so it should be a pretty day!

My computer went to heck last night. emoticon I stayed up all night doing a restore on it that I thought might take 3 or 4 hours...it took 11 hours and then my computer couldn't access the internet. emoticon After work tonight I called the Geek Squad (I have a subscription with them, and it has always turned out to have been worth renewing) and they fixed it for me. Took a couple of hours, but now I have a functional computer again. I'm going to take a look at my email and then go to bed because I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night. emoticon

First I will tell you that Luna is feeling much better. On the 2nd or 3rd day after her surgery she came trotting down the hall looking like a perfectly happy cat, which I had not seen in months. By the 5th day (yesterday) she was over getting pain medication and this morning she wouldn't let me give it to her. This cat is strange. She wants a lot of loving, but I'm supposed to pet her where she is. She does not like being picked up and held, which I admit is very odd. I'd been giving her the pain med while I was sitting on my toilet because I could reach her and grab her to give her the medicine, but today she was having none of that and wouldn't even come all the way into the bathroom while I was in there. I think this is good evidence that she is feeling much better and no longer needs the pain medication, so I'm giving up on that. I fed her soft food for 5 days but last night she also started eating dry food so I'm done with that, too.

The only real problem has been that Cali (Little Kitty) has been hissing at Luna since she came back from the vet. She's not doing it as much now, but she's still doing it. I think that when Luna was gone for a day she thought that she had the apartment all to herself, and now she's just ticked off that she has to share it with another cat again...even though it's her good friend she's having to share it with. emoticon

Anyway, I'm going to get off the computer and get some sleep now.

There was much rejoicing!

Hi everyone-we are moving north-traveled about 350 miles today-we are driving the backroads and today was rain most of the day-not so much fun on narrow 2 lane twisting and turning mountain roads, but took it nice and slow and did fine. The little Prius is avg about 56 mpg so loving that and found out that the B on the shift works like an exhaust brake so that helped a lot coming down the mountains.
We will arrive at our friend's about noon tomorrow. They said our trailer is set up and ready for us.
My knee is sore today and I have to be careful how I turn myself or my back lets me know that isn't going to work but hopefully will be fine in a couple of days.
Sandy how exciting that soon your son will arrive. Hopefully DD will not be far behind.
Pat

Hello Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday!

pat- Sounds like you are having a lot of fun on your vacation! Hope your husband feels better soon! Hope you didn't hurt your back too bad. Be careful and take care of yourselves!

Sandy- That must be so fun for you to get ready for your son to come and stay with you! Hopefully you will hear from your daughter soon too and she will get to live where you are!

I went to bed late last night and got up late. just doing some things around my apt and enjoying the day! Tomorrow I am getting up and going to sunday school and church to see my friends! One of my friends from church is autistic and she got a service dog a few months ago and it has changed her life so much ! She is able to go anywhere now with her dog and she has really come out of her shell! She is so much more talkative and so much more open now. She has really come a long ways all because of Gracie the dog!

Well hope everyone has a good night and a great day tomorrow!

Darla

Taking every day as a gift from God and being so thankful for my kids and my very funny granddaughter! Each day is a new day and I am thankful for it.

Pat - glad to hear you that your trip is going good. I hope that you didn't hurt your back when you slipped. I am glad that DH is holding his own. Both of you take care.

Talked with my son again yesterday and started planning his drive up. I have him stopping in Red Bluff the first night and then the second night he will stay just outside of Portland, Or. Then he will come the rest of the way the next day, which is Sunday and the traffic is a little better. I have been getting his room ready and making room for him. We are still waiting to hear from our daughter on what she is doing. We are hoping to hear from her today. She has been working doubles to make extra money.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
