I'm seesawing. All over the place. Today was our Spring Fling at work. A Deli tray, veggie tray and some side dishes folks brought in (I took a light dessert). Hard to track that especially the cole slaw, which was some of the best I've had in a long time. I don't think I did too bad. Only half of the roll for the bread.

At any rate, here's hoping we both go the direction we're trying for this month.

Good for you for giving that up. I should have given up Girl Scout Cookies for lent - I ate WAY too many of them the other day!!!

I did GREAT today. My calorie intake was 1,139. I did a light workout for my lower body and abs. I'm determined to see the scale move in the right direction this month since last month was a total wash for me!!

Today I just caved as I was just hungry. Tomorrow starts lent, and while I'm not catholic I always give up for lent. Usually, it's one of fave junk food snacks - mini powdered donuts. This year, I'm giving up those and all pre-baked bakery goods. If I want it, I'm going to have to bake it!

I hear ya, I am still clinging to the three pounds I've been trying to get rid of for the past two months! But things ARE back to normal for me and I am back on track again. I need to tighten up my eating just a little but I started working out again which is a good thing!

So glad it's all going back to normal! Eh... I left February still clinging to those two pounds I want to get rid of... other goals I'm meeting. I got a newer HR monitor and am realizing that some of my activities burn less that I thought. Not by bunches and not unexpected, but it means I've got to rethink the exercise. I'm hoping as the weather warms, that will help me out as it will be much easier to get outside.

Thank you for your prayers!! He's been home and his PICC line finally came out yesterday. That means I can get back to my life again!! I did not reach my goals for February but I did weigh less leaving February than I did going into it. I'll take it!!!

How have you been doing with your goals?

Sorry to hear your son was in the hospital. That does shove a lot to the back. I usually have my treats on the weekend, then in the winter... hot chocolate does the trick for me. I went over a couple of days, but I tracked so I was happy about that. I did lose .8 pounds, which isn't terrific, but it's better than gaining, so I called it good.

I'll keep your son and your family in my prayers.

As long as your meals are ok, I don't see the harm in having a cupcake everyday. I have one snack at night - chocolate covered pretzels. It satisfies the chocolate and salt cravings and helps keep me on track.

Unfortunately right now, I have to step away from eating healthy. My son has been very sick and has been in the hospital since last week. He should be coming home tomorrow. Once he's home, I should be able to get back on track again.

Muffins freeze really well. That's how I do mine, I bake them and freeze them. I joined the Healthy Cooking challenge to see if that won't help me get back on track. Cooking dinner tonight and even with a cupcake yesterday, I didn't go over. At the upper end of my range, but so long as I don't go over, I'm cool with that.

Once you get off track, it's hard to get back. Staying away from those baked goods is difficult! I actually had five muffins today!!!!! Well, it is valentine's day, so I will let it slide. Tomorrow's a new day. I certainly didn't have to worry about eating too few calories today!! Back on track tomorrow, though. I have a feeling I am going to have to throw the rest of the muffins in the garbage. Or maybe I'll freeze them and bring them to church on Sunday.

Ack! My scale has not gone down. I'm pretty sure I know why and it's not my muffins. It's other baked goodies and I've been stressed at work, so I've hit candy jars! E gads! It makes me feel like crap (I crash really fast) and of course, makes me crave all kinds of other stuff. So, that's got to stop. If I stick with what I make, I'm good. It's everyone else's that throws me for a loop.

Glad your's is going down. Do try and make your 1200 per day, though. I've had days when I didn't make it and it's okay so long as it's not a regular thing. Just read something about that recently.

I'm hoping I get better in tune with stuff this week.

Muffins are fine as long as you eat them in moderation and it sounds like you do!! I have been doing great. Actually, I have to watch that I don't eat too few calories lately. It's nice to see the scale moving down, albeit very slowly!

I adore muffins! I have a muffin cookbook collection. They freeze well, so one is now (once again, after many years) part of breakfast.

I did good today, even with the not so good item (chips, which I rarely do, but apparently I was craving salt) in the afternoon. Then, went to dinner with a friend. Would have been fine if I had not eaten those fries, but boy, were they good! I didn't go over by that much, so I'll just make up for it tomorrow.

You like your muffins, don't you!!! I have been doing great for two weeks. I did great on Saturday, but then I had one slice of pizza for dinner and that brought my weight up slightly on Sunday morning. Sunday I did well but then I ate a little too much at last night's Super Bowl party. I haven't weighed myself yet today but will soon.

I'm glad the weekend's behind us. I'm anxious to get back on track now. I feel so bloated from last night.

This weekend was crazy bad... but maybe not. I have no real idea as I haven't tracked and I forgot to weight. I don't think I'm too much off track, but muffins have been involved.

28 calories over is not that bad, especially when you are munching on cookies!! Cookies are definitely my downfall.

I actually did not eat much today at all. I had less than 700 calories all day!! I was too busy for breakfast but had half an egg salad sandwich for lunch. Pizza was for dinner and then a piece of cake for my small daily splurge. I didn't have the time or energy to workout today either.

I'll have to google Ellen Barrett.

Today, I was 28 calories over. Of course, cookies were involved, so I'm not complaining too much as I could have gone over by more. :)

Yikes, I'm sure the ankle recovery does affect workouts. I discovered Ellen Barrett a few months and love her workouts - all barefoot and very low impact. I'm not losing weight like I want, but my clothes are fitting differently (in a good way) and I suspect is her videos. Tonight was fusion flow. I try to do two yoga's a week as well as it really helps my joints.

Good for you!!! WOOT!! :-)

I was slightly under with my calories today. My workout was just stretching and some yoga balancing poses (my ankles and calves are so weak from recent foot surgeries). The number on the scale is very slowly going down, down, down!!

Yes, cleaning the car and a little shoveling is moving, so you've burned some calories!

I have been doing great with my eating since Sunday. I've been eating everything in moderation and eating mostly very healthy foods. I do have a small snack everyday. But it's working. I am feeling better and I've definitely lost a little this week. My workouts have consisted of shoveling and stretching.

Okay, within calorie range for today and yesterday. Yippee. Lunch is actually morphing into something good, though it's up in the air for tomorrow, since my home cooked chicken patties ran out today. Such is life.

I'm a little behind on exercise as I've not been taking my mid-morning walk due to the weather, but I figure cleaning all the snow of the car this morning and doing a bit of snow shoveling has to count for something. Just not sure how long it took me.

I'm so glad today was a better day for you. There are certain times of the month when I cannot turn any kind of food down - especially fudge!!

I had another great day today with my total calories coming in at 1365. I'm glad I finally got my eating under control. I just have to keep it there now.

I have actually tracked housework in the fitness tracker - under heavy housework and yes, it is a workout!

Today is much better! Yesterday involved fudge, something I know not to eat simply because that kind of sugar does very bad things to me. I paid for it this am. Much better tonight. Have tracked all but dinner and have that lined up. So, it's improving. I know what the "bad" triggers are... I just have to learn to say no. :)

That's good that you tracked today. Sometimes it takes a few days to get back on track.

I had another great day of eating today with my calories at 1205. I had wanted to workout, but I got too busy doing housework today! I guess I burned lots of calories with vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

I was on the same boat last week. Couple of bad days. Today I'm still a bit over, but I know why and at least I tracked. I expect to be back on track by midweek.

Yoga tonight as well and that always makes one feel better.

So, last week was my TOM, so I ate EVERYTHING that wasn't nailed down!!! I felt so bloated this morning and I didn't even want to eat anything. But I had three small healthy meals today and one snack. I definitely stayed within my calorie range. I hope to do the same tomorrow.

I'm doing better. Good workout this morning and food should be good today. Some eating out today, so maybe no tracking, but tomorrow on that for sure. Just start the week out right.

Did some cooking today though, which is good and will help me out next week.

I had three bad days of eating, probably due to it being that time of the month for me. But I actually did much better today and hopefully by tomorrow, I will be back on track.

On the other hand, I had a great workout today.

I ate maybe a third of it and have had several meals off of the leftovers. I only weigh once a week, so I don't see that much.

This week has been bad for goals... I'm going to be down a cardio, second time this month, and I've not been able to track my food like I want to. Between work and just not feeling well a couple of days it all goes to heck in a handbasket. However, I know it could be worse and tomorrow I should have more "control" over everything. I know some weeks are simply like this.

I love Chinese food!! Too much sodium for me, though. I never like what the scale says the next morning!

For me today, I stayed within my calorie range although I didn't drink enough water today (only 6 glasses). I don't workout on Saturdays, so no workout for me today.

Started off today with yoga and am doing okay on calories. I met my goal of tracking 4 days this week. Had Chinese last night and have left overs, so I'll need to figure out how to track that. That's okay - it's tasty. Love leftovers.

Yep, today is good. Cardio done, food tracked. Fair amount of water. Now, if my PBS channel would get unstuck (I think something is amiss) and get on with airing Inspector Lewis. :)

YAYY, there's three of us here now!!! Welcome, Adlins! Maintaining is much better than gaining! Lilred, that's great that you and your husband are joining a gym.

As for me, I've already dropped the pound that I put on from Friday night's Italian dinner. I stayed within my calorie range today and drank 9 glasses of water. I am looking forward to getting a workout in tomorrow.

Hey Suzanne! Sorry to hear about the weight gain but I know the Italian was good. I LOVE Italian food so I'm in your corner with that one, lol.

My goals have been coming along. I have missed two days of walking but I am staying active nonetheless. My hubby and I are getting into the gym starting tomorrow morning (new membership & brand new gym) so I am looking forward to all the good it will bring. I'll keep ya posted. We can do this!

I'm here! Finally!

My goals for January (and I've set them up in Other Goals):

cardio for 30 minutes 3x per week
yoga 2x per week
track food at least 4 times per week

I didn't meet the cardio goal this week, but I came close. Met the yoga goal. Met the food goal, but I had to look at my Summary calendar to verify that. Yay me.

I maintained my weight this week. Sigh. Better than gaining though and it was a crazy week. Hopefully this coming week will be better balanced.

Ok, so after a big Italian restaurant meal on Friday, I gained a pound back (water weight). But it's the same pound I keep on gaining and losing! Today, I did GREAT with my eating but only drank about 6 glasses of water. I still haven't had a chance to workout, though. Hopefully, I can start that again on Monday.

How are you doing with your goals, Lilred??

Yes, being on Sparkpeople everyday is key to losing weight! I really feel the accountability is important.

So, have you been walking everyday?

I have been eating pretty well the last few days and I'm hoping to keep that up. I haven't been working out but hope to get a small workout in later today.

Hey Suzanne! My goal for January is to walk 30 minutes every day. Getting active is key and for completing this goal I will reward myself with a new pair of walking shoes, woohoo! emoticon

Oh and a bonus for me would be to earn the 292 points for my next SparkPoints trophy. That means I'm on SP more too, recording my progress and sharing with others. yay! emoticon

What are your goals for January?

My goal for January is to weigh 120 lbs by February 1st.

Does anyone else have any goals? We can use this thread to list goals and come back everyday to post calorie intake, exercise, etc.

Support, accountability and motivation is what it's all about!
