I work out at home using only a stepbank, a fitness ball and some hand weights. A lot of my workouts are floor calisthenics as well so it's not like the weather really affects my program much at all.

My problem with trying to stay motivated in winter is the fact that every now and then you get a cold or the flu and you just cant do your normal training session cause of the illness. That really knocks me for six sometimes. And it takes me such a long time for me to find my motivation again afterwards. I feel like the illness has made me take like 10 steps backwards and then I wonder why I'm bothered in the first place and feel like just giving up.

I try more and more to fight that these days though and lucily I have had only one bout of the flu this winter (knock on wood), so I'll keep pushing on.

You're so right about the cold. I got another Walk Away the Pounds DVD this weekend; this one has three programs on it, which is nice. And, I pulled out a Boot Camp DVD. Heavens, I'm still feeling it, which I'm taking to mean I need to do it more often.

I heartily recommend DVDs for the really cold weather. Many are as short as 30 minutes; there are even some on SP that are free. You can also check some out at the library.

Good luck!

I use the stationary bike in my apartment's fitness room and I walk there, almost a mile round trip.

And, I've recently gotten a Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVD for when the weather is truly icky. 45 minutes of good power walking.

Plus, I strength train with each cardio session and do yoga a couple of times a week.

I'll admit that I have really been slacking on the community aspect of SP (blogging, commenting on pages, posts, etc.) That being said, I have kicked the workouts into high gear. I try to do some sort of activity daily. I've upped my workouts on the treadmill to 60 mins, and I'm still attending my Wednesday night yoga classes. I'm hanging in there and it sure seems like you're on a roll as well!

I am confident that the path I journey on today leads me in the best direction for my soul's progress. I do not worry about tomorrow. I choose to focus on today's journey.

Hi there! Ya, it's cold here. I've been using the treadmill and weight room at our high school's open hours. I also took a long walk to the library yesterday, 1.5 miles each direction. It was snowy, cold, and very sunny and it was such joy! I'm pleased with my weight loss.

Many bright blessings,
Schisandraa

SO THEN TWITTERS, how's it going? What kind of exercise are you doing? Is the winter affecting you in any way? I trust you guys know you get one point per post, and also one point per Huddle. Or maybe y'all aren't concerned with points? (shrug) Peace.

Many bright blessings,
Schisandraa
