Yeah. Maybe an email or something. Nothing to lose.

Mark, if you were involved in a political campaign, however long ago or peripherally, you probably could be more convincing than someone like me, who stays as far away from politics as possible.

Worth a try, anyway.

As if a Gore 2000 county precinct organizer from Maryland, carries sway with a former Senator from Missouri? It's just a concept.

So are you going to convince her to run?

I'm still waiting to see who lasts until next summer. Just not getting my hopes up again.

will read the whole Huff Post article when I have the energy, however, from what I have read, she seems pretty good.

Former Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill. Bear with me.

The present field of Democratic candidates are as cohesive as my windshield would be after a head-on collision. No two pieces fit together, certainly none centrist enough to drag (well-intentioned but misguided) Trump-supporting Democrats back home to the House of Blue Lights again.

(Speakers up for this one!)

Job one is we need someone mainstream and centrist enough to dislodge the felon from the White House. Every policy idea is secondary to this noble task. We can't do it with scary change, like free college and free health care and a blind pass on immigration. The White House can be won on simple common decency by a centrist candidate.

Joe Biden is not that candidate IMO, as we saw in the debate. He is old, out of touch, and with enough inconsistencies in his political past to cause unrest among the bluest of the blue (i.e., the segregation issues). But in terms of centrism, a candidate like Biden is just what is needed. Someone with name brand recognition. Someone who's brand is not itself polarizing (this excludes Warren, as much as many of her policies are mine).

A southern Democrat. A centrist. And yes, a woman. Someone with experience. I have scoured my own memory banks and offer you - (drum roll please), former Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill. I know she is not running (not yet anyway). This is my idea alone. She's 65 years old, a retired two-term Senator, a wife, ex-wife, Mom, author and political pundit from the Show-Me state.

We could do much worse.
