Matzah never had a negative affect on me. I will have to detox after this week, to get back off of carbs. I was doing pretty good until now, so back on track I go.

i cant figure out if passover did something to me or not but i spent the last 8 hours of pesach with the porcelain god. i feel better but not great. i should be ok tomorrow. but reminds me of the couple of time my daughter ended up either in ER or in patient hospital starting the last 2 days. her doc told her stop eating passover food! now 15 years later she is slowly adding small amounts back in. (she has crohns). hmmm.

Eco, you are a glutton for punishment. All year round. Really? Cannot even begin to imagine that. I am wending my way north and could not even leave the McDonald's parking lot. Had to double back inside.

I may be done with Passover, but Passover is clearly not done with me.

Yeah, Passover is terrible for my svelte girlish figure too.

I eat Passover foods all year round. Matzo meal latkes are a favorite!

LOL Passover and weight loss! I'd gain big time if I ate like it was Passover every day. Sure, no bread but not exactly Sparky-compliant old-family recipes. Butter and sour cream and sugar. Matzo, matzo, everywhere! I won't even start with the schmaltz, or the more up-to-date Nyafat! Kugels and kugelach and tzimmes ... yummy! And cakes, cookies, and chocolates! I treasure the notecards in my mom's handwriting. But those recipes are intended to feed a crowd of an extended family with cousins and "from the old country cousins", the kind of folks who enjoy a scoop of sour cream ... not 0% fat-free yogurt.

Today, what can't you buy for Passover? I saw Kosher for Passover matzo-based Panko bread crumbs. I did not buy it because I'll substitute matzo meal for bread crumbs all year. Or I buy Panko if it's not Passover.

Now tell that to my kishkes.

Probably won't have bread till I'm back in NY.

Still have to buy back my chometz.

But, oh, how sweet it is!

Here's something to ponder: IFDEEVARUNS2 pondered a few years back, "If we can observe Passover, and readily give up bread, why can't the rest of the year keep us equally compliant with our weight loss?"

Discuss!

We broke it with friends of mine (and their wives) from all the way back in Junior High School, at a local restaurant. Thrown out so far are two unopened boxes of whole wheat matzo, some potato starch, some matzo meal, mandelin for soup...

Chametz tastes so good on the first night! Homemade pizzas for dinner followed by a Reese's egg for dessert.

Leftovers: One unopened container of matzo meal, a little matzo farfel, one unopened box of whole wheat matzo.
