I don't think the Dems are taking impeachment off the table totally - I think they are waiting to see what will come out of the Mueller report first, though.

It reminds me of when the teachers' union contracts were being discussed in the VI - we had to go to court to force the gov't to negotiate. Once that happened, then we were able to strike. But for some reason, had we gone on strike first, we'd look bad in court and be more likely to lose our side.

So I think it's kind of like that.

I think she is thinking that impeachment is to divisive and probably couldn’t be done in two years anyway. That said the divisiveness would probably lose them more people to come in to Congress so it’s sort of a mixed bag. I can’t wait to see what Mueller has. The idiots surrounding 45 keeps saying the light sentence proves no collusion. I’m sure the basic believes them unfortunately. But we shall see

Earlier this week I caught a statement either online or on the TV news that Pelosi did not support impeachement. This angered me again. But my previous statement that I thought impeachment unlikely during his term because of how near we are to the next election year shows that I do have an astute grasp of the current political situation. The Dems are in a precarious situation apparently and since regaining power in the Congress they are fearful of losing it by having some back bone and actually doing it! I found some real journalism that supported this and explained what I can't articulate well. I posted this thread originally because I just wish elections were over and that he was GONE. I do think he will be indicted for his criminal acts, but AFTER his presidency is over. Not enough people are bold enough to do the right thing because they are AFRAID they will lose their own power. All the reports coming out are going to clearly show his criminal acts are REAL and not fake news, but what will he do? Take up residence in Russia or face the charges?

I can't believe Jay Inslee (gov, WA state) declared himself a candidate. He's been a good governor, but he's an unknown on the national stage.

I'm not sure Pence would win the Republican primary - depends on who else is running. I could see someone really horrible like Lindsey Graham winning the Republican nomination - he truly is a hateful person.

I've thought about it...I don't think he will be impeached, we are too close to 2020. What I think now is that the Mueller report will bar him from ever being able to run again. And that he might even go to jail (hopefully). I think that Pence will run as a candidate, and that he will be supported by the same hateful groups that helped elect our current one.

I hae a slightly different wish. i wish the report would come out and he would stay president. but they'd be trying to get him out - bipartisan. that would make him less effective but keep pence out. i think pence will do just as much if not more damage. he's not looked at as a wingnut and so people will listen and women and non-christians will lose big time and no one will care as much. but at the end of the 2 years, make djt ineligible to run (well starting now-ish).

we have so much to make up for - it'll be a tad easier moving forward again but we are from a much further back place than we were. but i like to believe that millions more have seen the light of why we need to get where we were 2 years ago and further (in race/religion/sex treatment)

He does not represent all Jews. I would like to get to a point in this country where we look at every person individually. Instead of a black person did this, a Jew did that, etc, etc. unfortunately our country seems to be moving backwards with this. So much prejudice all around. I would love to see Trump out but then we have a long road ahead to repair things. Should I live so long.

All we can hope is that the Mueller report comes out soon - because that is the only way the Republicans are going to let anything happen with removing Trump.

I am watching the news and Michael Cohan's testimony on TV--give Jews a bad name, why don't you! Like we don't have enough hate directed at us. Anyways, with that and everything else and our current President's interactions with N.Korea, I wish it would just all hurry up!
How long has it got to go on before we can oust him?

I have a local vote I have to cast in March and I am just so sick of all this I feel disgruntled about having to do it, but now more than ever voting is important at all levels of government.
