Maybe we could use the would-wouldn't waffle in Hillary's concession speech.

I love the comedian who said that Trump acquiesced when he said that he "would make Mexico pay for the wall". He meant to say that "Mexico will NOT be made to pay for the wall."

Gotta love it! The comics are having a field day with all this "walking back."

Amazing how little the pretzeling makes sense after it is revised.

Agreed. Even conservative media is throwing up their collective hands.

Samantha Bee (cannot find the clip now, but there are a lot of references to what she said yesterday on the web) said the Republicans have no business to be "shocked" by Trump's behavior. He has said the same things repeatedly. She called Helsinki his "Greatest Hits" -- nothing new.

She also sanctioned the journalists who expressed such dismay. Same reason as above.

Smart cookie.

EDIT: Bee had noted that at a Republican dinner two years ago they joked about Trump and said that they were all "family" and that hopefully nobody would leak this conversation. She referenced them not as "family" but as "klan". Perhaps it's in her full video from her show the other night, but here is a partial allusion to what she said referencing that dinner.

I think many Trump voters are out of work, or having economic hardships, and were counting on him to create jobs - after all, the logic was (I think), he's so rich and has so many businesses, he'll make everyone in the country rich like him. Not that it makes sense, especially given his rate of bankruptcy as well as the lack of actual liquid cash versus monies owed - but that gets too complex.

But he talked big, and people believed him. Definitely economic. But also, I suspect, a great deal of it was a reaction by certain people to having had Obama as president.

I'm hoping for a Democratic overthrow at midterm.

I knew someone was going to say that. It still may be true, but for some reason (economics, perhaps?) they felt disenfranchised.

The midterms will be very telling.

The fallacy is the premise that the majority of (or any) Trumpsters attended college.

AOL is dopey.

Btw, what are the chances that you and I were in the same Logic class? No way to find out unless we both still have transcripts to show when each of us was enrolled.

BTW, the AOL link requires an AOL sign in, but it has been amply covered elsewhere.

And yet....and yet only one lone Republican in a minor office out in the hinterlands chose to resign. Speaks volumes, no?

Trump was floored by the level and degree (can I be redundant?) of the backlash from his own party and his own White House cohorts. They made it so he had no choice but to "walk back" (a now frequently used turn of phrase) his Helsinki speech. But still "there was no colusion [sic]". And "others" could be blamed, too.

Even the Republicans acknowledge from American intelligence sources that the Russians interfered with the election. What more do these people (the Trump adorers) need in terms of proof? Did they not take Freshman Logic 101 in college?

Yup! I'd even kick out his Supreme Court appointee(s) for good measure!

I want ALL of them out. Seems like conviction for treason is the way to go.

Convict for treason, impeach, remove from office and pillory in the town square. Then the cucking stool followed by the proper, just punishment.

If we can get him tried for treason, under Article 2, Section 4 of the Constitution, "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Right.

If you missed Stephen Colbert last night:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk6uNlSkLj4

I struggled to stay awake for Seth Meyers:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nso_KfY6AQ

And even Jimmy Fallon, who never touches controversial subjects but will make an exception for the trump thing, weighed in (I haven't watched this yet)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_i8KWTo8Tg

You can find Jimmy Kimmel if you wish.

As much as I appreciate the humor derived from what's going on this couple of years, I wouldn't mind dull monologues now and then.
