I read whenever I get a chance. I even have books downloaded on my Palm. This is my relaxation and of course being involved with the kids.

I LIKE TO GO TO LOCAL PARKS NEAR LARGE BODIES OF WATER... VERY RELAXING, AND IF I GO ALONE I USUALLY TAKE MY PORTABLE CD PLAYER OR A GOOD BOOK.

Read, watch a good movie, watch music videos with motivational effects which make me NOT want to overeat ie: Pussycat Doll "Don't cha" and Beyonce "Get Me bodied"

what are some things you can do instead of watching tv or going online.. both for hours ata time??

I am online for 7-8 hours every night/day and tv at least 5 hours or so a day..

Maybe I missed it on your list. But, burning calories doing a physical activity with your spouse would be good too...

Things to do Instead of Eating:

Do you eat for comfort because you're frustrated, bored, in pain or because of some other feeling or issue you want to escape? Here are some things that you can do instead:

** Carve a watermelon or other fruit!
** Call or e-mail a supportive friend.
** Go to the gym or for a walk or run.
** Read the Team posts and blogs.
** Enjoy a long bath or shower.
** Chew some sugarless gum or brush your teeth.
** Put a puzzle together.
** Play a game with your spouse, children or pet.
** Tackle a household chore.
** Laugh out loud and claim the victory.
** Do something you enjoy like reading to occupy your mind.
** Experiment with putting your makeup on in a different way.
** Make a grocery list of healthy foods for the coming week.
** Walk out of the kitchen and give yourself a pat on the back.
** Reorganize a closet or junk drawer.
** Work in your garden, or start an herb garden in your kitchen.
** Do the laundry.
** Write in your journal or blog about what you are feeling.
** Turn on some music and dance.
** Post in SP Forums.
** Find a healthy recipe and plan it for later.
** Take a 15-minute nap.
** Drink a glass of water or other non-caloric beverage.
** Work out with an exercise video.
** Study a foreign language from sources you Google on the web.
** Apply a facial mask.
** Do a crossword or Sudoku puzzle.
** Read the team favorites.
** Go on-line to find inspirational quotes to keep you motivated.
** Find a saying to repeat when you feel like eating.
** Make a chart and give yourself a star for not eating.


Try posting this list where you will see it daily. Every time you do one of the above instead of eating, give yourself a star! All those avoided snacks add up. If you do something physical instead of eating, give yourself two stars! Not only did you not eat,but you burned calories - WOOHOO.
