I know exactly how you feel. I feel like I am never going to get rid of this weight and so I usually give up and forget about it. Everytime I start trying to loose the weight I think that this time will be different and it never is. I get so depressed and reach for a pint of Ben and Jerry's. All you can do is focus on today and tell yourself each morning that today will be different. If you mess up don't beat yourself up, just jump right back into your program and keep going like it didn't happen.

It is so much easier to say all of this than to do it!

You have to take it one day at a time! You didn't gain all the weight over night, so it will take a while to take it back off. Just keep your head up high and know that you are making yourself healthy. Only focus on today...dont' worry about tommorow or yesterday, just today!

Hi there: I know it's easy to be down on yourself after a trying Holiday season time - myself I gained 7 pounds - yikes!!

However, try not to think all bad of yourself. There are always positives. Even when the body isn't looking like you'd want it to be (and mine sure as heck isn't!!), maybe you have a nice smile, nice eyes, great hair, great personality. I think it's better to focus on what's good about yourself, rather than what you're doing wrong.

The truth is we're all human and even the skinny minnies have stuff about themselves they don't like too.

I say try and be positive about at least one thing you're doing right - drinking the water, tracking what you're eating, going on this site, being a buddy to someone or whatever.

I'm trying to stay positive myself. So far I'm down a couple of pounds from what I gained over the holidays and yes I hope that next year my goals are the not the same as last year's uncompleted ones.

I hope you have a great day.
Debby

I have never been thin and really don't want to be. My ideal weight is somewhere in the 140-150 range, and that's me at a fairly toned and healthy level.

So that's my ultimate goal.

I should start thinking I need to get healthy. Not thin. Healthy and thin will come with that.

MLR, did you read my mind? I'm in exactly the same boat, mentally.

I'm single, and that mentality has really kept me from being ready to date properly. Think fat, and you are fat. At least for me. I find that when I feel fat, I dress in a dumpy way, I slouch, basically don't look my best.

So yeah, I know how you feel. Think we can change past behaviors this year?

I do. I have to keep the faith!

I know how you feel, I just tell myself that I am working very hard and it is going to make a difference. I did not put this weight on overnight, It will not come off that way!

Ever feel like no matter what you will ALWAYS Be fat? I do. I have good days and then days like today when I am doing ok eating wise and did some sit ups and stretches but I feel like no matter what I will be fat anyway.
I hate when I get in these emotional slumps.
I just know ever new year I set the same goal ( to try to lose 50 lbs to be under 200) and I never do it. Usually by February I am back on the fast food and lazy way again. Any success stories anyone want to volunteer to kick my behind if I stop posting! lol
