Today I am proud of not buying any "extras" at whole foods today! No crap.... and OMG they have these cookies.. now, i'm not a fan of cookies, but I was seriously tempteD! but...!!! No cookies for me! Today is a new day and I am not making it a bad one first thing int he morning!! :)

I'm having a similar food issue....I'm fine during the day. Under control, balanced food. But at night my body just keeps wanting something, which I quell with sweets and then feel like crap. I've cut my meat consumption back, but I don't think that's the problem since my protein overall seems sufficient. BTW, one of these days I'll have to bring you some eggs ;)

Had good success with Cameron last night. She got a full 400m in at comfortable pace so she's getting a feel for the distance. The "coach" did a trail 200m race and she was heading into first place until just before the finish line someone passed here; she timed in at 47.5 second. Also working on her form, stride etc. Oh, and Nickolas joined in probably getting in almost a mile on his own. We'll see what tonight brings.

Good Morning Ladies!!!

Great to see you back running Suzanne!!! My first run last week felt hard but I'm hoping for a better one today!!! Going to keep the mileage low and the pace slow!!!

Proud of myself for looking at my diet and once again making changes!!! As many of you know, I went back to being vegan at the beginning of the year, the first couple weeks were great and I lost some weight but as I finished my marathon training, I realized I was having some of the same symptoms that I was having last year when I was experiencing adrenal fatigue!!! I talked with a fellow nutritionist from school and agreed to follow her plan for then next 30 days and see how I feel...so as of today, I am re-vamping my diet again, adding back meat and removing all sugar, starches and grains!!!

Cherri, you probably remember me doing this last year around this same time....hopefully, this will be what I need to get my weight down and my hormones regulated!!!

Great job on your first run Suzanne. Great pace too!

I'm not feeling proud of much today. Just feeling kind of tired and run down. Today was the second morning in a row where I woke up feeling groggy with a sore throat and I opted to skip my morning workout both days.

I guess I'll be proud of the fact that today was my weigh in and even though I was aiming to lose 2 lbs, I am still proud of myself for losing 1.

A pound is a pound!

Plus its that lovely time of the month, so maybe things will be better in a few days or at next week's weigh in!

Wow, glad to see some recent posts here...

Well......I did my first post LA Marathon run yesterday at lunch. Just 3 miles but at a steady 12 minute pace. Felt good afterwards. Started to break in the new Asic Kayanos. I have a pair in 9 1/2 that seeemed too big as my feet kept slipping in them, so got a pair in 9 at the expo that feel better, but darn if I didn't get a hot spot on the bunion...They did help with the sensitive spot that swells on my right foot though (the sore spot from the stress fracture).

Tonight I'll be taking the kids to the track at the HS near our house to help Cameron "train" for her 400 meter race in the Foundation Games (a local track and field event). Should be interesting.

Oh and yesterday's proudest moments:

I moved on from Level 1 to Level 2 of the 30 day shred. It was tough, but I actually found myself pretty strong through it and was so proud of myself for sticking with this program.

After, as beat as I was, I went for a run. I planned to just do a slow one because I knew I had to just move my legs, but I ended up running about 11:30 a mile for 2 miles.

Since I started running again (6 weeks ago) - this is a new best time for my mile and for 2 miles!! I can't believe it!

Today I'm proud of myself for signing up for a 12 week weight loss and nutrition program at work.

It starts on the 14th, but I've been getting ready for it already. I registered on Wednesday and paid for it (it's $175) and today I went in for a BodyGem test. It's a metabolic analysis that determined your RMR or BMR.

I'm so proud of myself for doing this and also for being upset at not being able to workout this morning. It says something if I feel sad or guilty about skipping a morning workout - but I wasn't allowed to eat, drink, have caffeine or exercise for 4 hours before the test.

I'll keep you posted on my progress. If I meet my weight loss goal and/or attend 8 of the 12 weekly sessions/lectures, my employer will give me $50 back, and I'm counting on that because $175 was a bit steep for me!

Today I am proud that I pushed myself while running instead of getting lazy and going slow. Now I have no excuses in the future!!

Cherri! I hate shopping at certain places alone and without lists because I will buy foods that are just not good. It's almost like we all know we should have them or buy them becuase we'll end up eating the entire bag, box, etc.... 440 calories is MUCH better than it could have been. So props to that. And now you know how badly you felt after so you can try to do something different in the future to avoid a full blown sabotage.

I am proud of you too cherri- the 30 day shread is hard!!!

Congrats Jackie. I did some shopping last night and didn't buy any of those items either. Especially after a bad "cracker incident" on Saturday night when I went through an entire box (first slip with mindless eating in the past few weeks). At least it was only 440 calories - could have been WAAAAY worse.

So I'm proud of myself for working out hard on Sunday to make up for it and not beating myself up.

And today I'm proud of myself for getting up early(ish) and not sleeping in, and working out before work. I also made a healthy breakfast (instead of skipping) when I was running late, and packed a good lunch for work. I was late to work, but it was worth it and I feel great today!

I am also proud of myself for sticking with the 30 Day Shred. See my latest blog post for more details!!

I pushed through and my Jillian Michaels workout even though I really didn't want to and didn't feel up to it.

I felt great afterwards.

Instead of plopping on the couch - I walked for an hour and then did my workout and burned over 700 calories in 90 minutes!!

I hula hooped for an hour today at Curves while chatting with the ladies there. The trainer dared me to do 10 minutes and I got carried away.

My abs were nice and warm from the workout. Just 2 weeks ago doing 10 minutes made me break out into a sweat.

I have stuck to eating good and staying active. I weighed in this morning and I am down 3.4 pounds this week !! I have learned that it's not how hard or how long I exercise for, it's at what intensity I stay at while I am exercising. I have also learned how to eat right and stay within my calorie range. It's finally working for me !!

I almost talked myself out of going to the gym this morning. I did strength training yesterday and my inner thighs are really sore and I thought, "I need to rest today" and then I thought "I've had Enough rest days in my life" and I went and I was (still am) so proud of myself for going..

I'm proud of myself for being willing to take a close look at my eating patterns and make adjustments where necessary!!! Day 2 was much better than day 1 and day 3 looks pretty good so far!!! I even planned what I am going to order tonight at dinner...this way I can fit the rest of the day around tonights meal!!!

Well, not today but last week I took the cookies in our office (yummy girl scout cookies) and threw them out in the trash to be taken out that night. I am still very proud- dont regret it! I feel SO good about that- no one was eating them, they were getting old, and I was disapointed in myself the few days before when I had some for no good reason.

I have browsed through my cookbooks and planned a beautiful, fancy, healthy, lo-cal meal that I will be making to treat me mum this Mother's Day! It's a cooking adventure and I'm excited to do it! I will be making Fish Steaks in Raspberry Marinade, Asparagus Risotto, cooked carrots with raisins, salad with Orange and Fennel, and I think I might throw in some crusty bread for the rest of the family LOL!

I am so proud of this team. I feel honored to be surrounded by so many athletes.

I am also proud of myself for conquering my fear of the lap pool yesterday. I was really nervous about starting an alternative exercise. But I put on my new suit, met Miss Jackie at the new gym and after we stretched I jumped in the pool and swam laps.

I'm actually looking forward to going again.
