I'm late too but what else is new :)

Up until july 1 I had lost 24.2 pounds. I then took the entire month of July off work and did a lot of camping etc.....I didn't expect the nutrition side of things to be the issue that it turned out to be, but hindsight being 20/20 I found that it was much easier to keep chips and cookies around for weeks at a time when you are deep in the bush camping than it was to keep fresh fruits and veggies.

Lesson Learned: You need to factor your nutritional requirements into your vacation plans.

Cost of Lesson: 4.2 lbs.

But I'm not back at work and back on track and hopefully August will be a bounce back month.

Not everything counted is important. Not everything important can be counted.

Short Term Goals:
1. Get waist down to a size 40
2. Get to 249lbs by the end of February 2010

wow, can't it been 3 months since i joined sp. In a way it feels like i've had it for ages since its an integral part of my daily life and in another way, 3 months trying to lose weight is quite a milestone for me. I lost about 14 pounds from my starting weight (but about 17 lbs from my heaviest just before i joined), lost 3 inches off my hips and 4 off my waist. The jeans i was wearing before became so loose (and ragged looking) i bought jeans at about 2 sizes smaller than i had before and fit into them! That's not to say i haven't had an easy time - i fell off the wagon like 2 /3 times but as long as i get there in the end it doesn't matter i guess

hi, well during the 3 months I'd lost 20lbs and then gave up smoking. As a result is that I'm back where I started again weightwise but the good news is I haven't touched any ciggies since I gave up.

I'm going to retry again from now.

The longer it takes it to come off the longer it will stay off!

The longer you keep it off the harder it is to put it back on!

Hello, I too am a little late in the 3 month anniversary conversation. I did great until a 2 week trip to Bolivia upset the progress. Came back with a broken finger (of which I am still in a splint for). I had lost 20 pounds up until the trip. After I came back, I gained about 10 pounds back so I have been more or less maintaining.

One day earlier this week I mentioned to my 21 year old daughter about a half marathon. She called me the next day wondering if I was serious. Long story short, we start training this Monday for a October 5K and then the Cape May 10 mile run the end of next March. So I predict some good turn out from all of this if my "more mature" body takes the pounding of shoes against the pavement. D's boyfriend & my hubby are going to run the Cape May race with us. None of us are currently runners so this will be fun!!

I'm a little late on the 3 month celebration but I am sooo... excited to see that everyone is having success. At 3 months I've lost 19 lbs and super excited. I agree with many of you that SP has been such a great motivator. I love seeing everyones page and just knowing that there is a community of people all on the same journey.

Congratulations to everyone!

3 months, 18 lbs lost! Woo-hoo! And a major life change: eating better (more healthy stuff), moving more, actually missing it when I don't get to go walking outside cuz it's just too dern hot! Who'd have thought that would be me?? SP is the best!

Happy 3 month anniversary to all of us!

I've lost 5 pounds since joining SP. I'm grateful for every pound, but I know it could have been more. I feel like I've been using little bits of the site since I started but this last week everything seemed to fall into place. I'm now meeting more of my goals and feel healthier.

Can't wait to see where we all are in 3 more months!

Congrats to all of you! I've lost twelve pounds and so I have only eleven to go! So I'm half way to my goal! When I reach it I'll decide if I need to lose more. I did not want to overwhelm myself. I will be perfectly happy to reach my goal since I haven't been at 155 for quite a long time and I am fairly tall. ( 5' 9") emoticon

I've lost 25 pounds, which is 10% of my body weight. I am beyond amazed at that.

I'm down 2 pant sizes, my legs and arms are thinner. When I walk, my elbows used to bump into my hips because of the fat there - now I have about an inch gap on each side. I've upped all of my weights and resistance and speed. I've still got a ways to go but I am 1/3 of the way there and feeling like a million bucks.

Congrats to everyone and all of their hard work!!!

I've lost only 6 pounds, and I am very depressed about that. I was doing well on SP until May 19th when I was in a car accident. No broken bones, but my doctor haven't released me back to work yet. Three weeks ago, I started working out again in the Couch to 5K program. I am still at my May 19th weight because I put on some weight while recovering. I have 3 weeks to loose 4 pounds for my graduation.

I hope I reach my goal!

Congrats to you all on the weight that you lost, no mater how large or small.

From 198 to 182 - that's 8% of my total body weight. Glad I started working out in March, if I had to start now it would be too hard, summers on the patio ! Barbeques ! coolers etc. URGHHHH - someone told me about SP in April and I love this site. The success stories are keeping me going, but I need to turn up the burn !

Has it been 3 months already?!

I don't have a scale either. I'm feeling great though! I feel thinner, my skin and hair look fantastic (thanks to all that water and fruit and veggies), my junk-food cravings are just about completly gone (still crave chocolate though!), and I'm cooking some fantastic, healthy meals again!

I think if I exercise more regulary, the weight will come off faster. But I'm loving the Spark experience so far!

I made my first goal, down to 200 before the family picnic. Logging things really helped me to focus on what I was really doing. The awareness alone has been worth a ton.

Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday

Began here 16April08, 213 lbs.

First goal was to be at 200 lbs by 19July08 for the annual family picnic.
ACHIEVED!

Next goal is 180 by my 29th Anniversary, 22March09. NOT ACHIEVED.

Restarting 10January10.

New Goal - Under 200 by 4th of July, 2010.
FAILED.

31OCT10 - 202.0 lbs and shooting for 190 by New Year's Day.

I've learned a lot these past three months about my eating and exercise habits. I've learned that drinking water is more important than I thought to keeping me feeling satisfied during the day. I've also come to appreciate getting out and walking. I've lost 19 lbs. thus far, and I'm excited to see more of it come off in the upcoming months. emoticon

ive only lost 7 lbs and its been a struggle. but my clothes are fitting a lot better, so something is working! the biggest change, though, are my eating and exercise habits. i really enjoy working out each morning, and i write down (nearly) everything i eat. as long as the scale moves down-even if its slow-and not up, im happy.

Congrats to all on your accomplishments. I've only lost 1 lb but I had already lost 30 when I started and with my thyroid problems I know its extra hard to lose and I'm close enough so my big thing that I'm happy about is I'm really learning to eat and live healthy and I'm LOVING it. Just the fact that I'm enjoying eating veggies to me is a major deal!

Good luck all. Keep at it. Its worth it! emoticon

Since we are all starting at and aiming for different weights, we should put things in context

I'm 5kg down, that's about 12 lbs. I started at 87kg now I'm at 82kg, so that's about 6% of my initial bodyweight. and 22% of the way to my 22kg loss goal.

I had a really slow start, this loss has all been in the past 6 weeks so I'm pretty happy.

Calculations for the mathematically challenged...
Percentage of initial weight lost
(weight lost/initial weight) x 100

and percentage of way to goal
(weight lost/total weight to lose at the start of your journey) x 100

Being a good role model for my kids.

It's been 3 months already. How is everyone doing? Is this what you expected after 3 months?

I have lost almost 30 pounds...28 but hoping by next week it will be 30. I have gotten a whole new wardrobe without going to the store. I'm loving it!! I don't know if this is what I envisioned when I started.....it's more. Thanks to all Spark People members for all the encouraging words (even when they weren't directed to me) and advise.
