Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Today is day number 2 and I feel like I am taking a much better approach today - that is, I logged all my meals and snacks for today last night. I kept near the bottom of my calorie range so that I had a buffer in case of "emergency". :)

This will take some planning, but so do all worthwhile things in life.

Have a great day, everyone!!!

Cheers!
Sonja

I was surprised the first few days to see how fast the calories added up. I think I must have been eating several thousand a day before! I just finished my first week and ended up staying pretty close to 1500 calories every day, and exercised for 30 minutes 5 days.

I weighed in today and lost 4.2 pounds the first week and was really excited, and then we went out to Chili's for lunch and I made a bad food choice. When I got home and tracked it, I was appalled to realize that I had eaten 1800 calories and 130 grams of fat in that one meal!! WHOOPS!! But that's okay - I got back on track at the next meal and know now that I need to plan ahead next time we go out to eat.

It's quite a process learning how to make the right decisions, and it takes alot of time, but congrats to you on getting through your first day! Keep up the good work!

Hi! Congrats on getting through your first day!

Yesterday was my third day and I went over on my calories because I did have a treat - a super yummy cupcake that my husband brought me from our favourite bakery! A good compromise, so as not to hurt my hubbie's feelings, may have been to have had a half of it last night and the other half tonight - that would have kept me more on track.

I also realized that I don't have very much healthy, low calorie food in the house so will have to go grocery shopping. I also need to pick up a food scale so that I can be more accurate and so do less guesstimating on the Nutrition Tracker.

Keep breathing. Don't be too hard on yourself - gently nudge yourself along because you have done so much just by signing up and committing to new changes - changes that will take some time to figure out. So give yourself a great big hug because you have made the first step on what will be an amazing journey!!! And we will all cheer you and help you as you go!!

Hi All,

Even though I joined last week, today was my first day using the tools and tracking my nutrition, fitness, etc.

I just finished dinner and I'm over on my calories and I was hoping to get a Starbucks tea for about 100 calories later as a treat. Bummer.

But it was only day one, and I really don't know what it feels like to eat a proper quantity of food in a day. This is a journey and I know that I'll have lots to learn along the way.

Anyone else have a similar experience this week?

Cheers!
Sonja
