I have the same thoughts...why am I here...but I'm here to better myself and to learn how to lose weight and keep it off. It has been slow and I've had some ups and downs with my feet problems. I just need to stay focused on eating healthy everyday not every other day or every other meal. I also need to figure out how to get more exercise in and get the "I'm tired" out of my mind. Mondays are the worst for me. I'm worn out when I get home.

I sometimes have the same thoughts as why am I here, especially these last couple months when I have back peddled so much. Quit working out , Quit counting my calorie intake, and my only answer is I am here because I want to be and I want to learn to be healthier.
I come back time and time again to find motivation to stay on track and get myself back into a healthier lifestyle.
And to help my daughter who has gained a lot of weight after having my grandsun.

Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life; define yourself.

The present is what slips by us while we're pondering the past and worrying about the future.

emoticon Yes, it does pass on from generation to generation. My parents were very nutrition conscious, raised big gardens and taught us to eat every vegetable there was. My grandmother taught my father to eat everything and I never heard him say he didn't like anything and my mother was nearly a vegetarian. I passed this on to my kids who were always excited when they saw the fresh cauliflower and broccoli sticking out of the grocery bags. Now my husband and I are instrumental in getting our grandchildren to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. So pass it on!!! emoticon

You're right - the convenience trap is an easy one to fall into. So is the belief that problems should have quick fixes.

There aren't quick fixes with weight. Even if you can afford liposuction, you have recovery time from surgery and they can only (safely) remove a limited amount of fat at a time.

There are ways to make eating healthier more convenient, but they involve thought and planning on our part. Our food culture isn't set up this way.

So... buck the current! Make an effort.

Hello everyone,

I shared my thoughts today with my other Team Spark Power. I wanted to share it with everyone here too.

I had thoughts come through my head yesterday. Why was I here? I should just drop off the team and go away. Ok, don't email me about this because I know that some of you have the same thoughts. What brought me to telling you this was because of the kammy's journal yesterday. So I wanted to share my thoughts why I changed my mind. I shared it with Kammy on her journal. So I wanted to share it with the rest of the team.

As I was bouncing on my rebounder I got thinking why do I have these thoughts. It's because we have trained ourselves to have quick fixes. There is no quick fix to this. We trained ourselves to prepare our food for a quick meal. But in the long run we weren't thinking of how unhealthy it was, etc. Convenience, driving up to that fast food restaurant and ordering something. Now we have to train ourselves a different way of life. It was so convenient to just come home from work to plop on the couch and relax. This lifestyle change isn't easy, it's hard work. But everything I have done in life has not come easy. So why do we do this to ourselves? Because of convenience that's why.

So we have the power to change this for the next generations. To change the eating habits of ourselves, our family's. Teach them the right way of eating and exercise. That way they pass it on to there children.

We can do this and next time I have those thoughts about giving up. I will remember my grandchildren and the next generation. So we have the Power to change this generation. No one said it was going to be easy!

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH DOING WELL!
