People have told me how tasty salmon steaks are, in April my mother fixed some. She broiled them in the oven but only seasoned them with pepper. To say the least they was dry and didn't taste all that well to me or my DH. But I think I will give it another try on the grill like you said. You think maybe she baked them to long or something? If you have a recipe to share please do, would like to try it again.

I love to put chopped veggies and meat: usually salmon, shrimp or chicken in foil packets with a bit of olive oil and some fresh herbs. It is just as tasty as the traditional method. Also I like to cut poblano peppers in half, spray the grill with some nonstick spray and roast the peppers with a peice of jack cheese or just plain.

Thanks for the tips & I had the grilled pinapple before. It taste great.

Well since we don't eat pork or turkey, we have turkey franks which are better. Also turkey burgers as well. We always try to incorporate tofu into the sides. Like a salad mixed with sauted tofu & there is also vegan mayo (even though I am not a vegan) called Vegganaise (think that is how it is spelled). The first time I had it with a friend he didn't even tell me it wasn't regular mayo...lol. It's lower in calories & better for you. If I think of anything, I will let u guyz know.

Summertime is great time for family BBQ, even July 4th is around the corner. Attending a summer BBQ most people will consume at least one beer, a hot dog, a burger, chips, coleslaw, potato salad, and dessert. This can pack on the calories and pack things on you.
When you go to your next BBQ take some of these tips to your next BBQ. If you have any other suggestions would love to see other ideas as well.

Grilled chicken instead of the normal hotdog burger is the best choice for you. Try a single chicken breast loaded with your favorite veggies or even on whole wheat bread. Grilled Turkey isnít that bad on the grill either. Ground turkey to myself has to be mixed with a lot of herbs to make it taste good, but not a bad choice. I saw on one thread someone use Portobello mushrooms for a bun.

SIDEDISHES. Run screaming from mayo-soaked sides like slaws, potato salad, and macaroni salad. Each tiny serving of those is crammed with fat and calories. Try sweet corn on the cob, but instead of butter try using a squirt of lemon. Try a baked potato with salsa or even sweet potato and grilled veggies.

DESSERTS Have you ever tried a grilled fruit kabobs they are amazing. I like pineapple grilled it brings out its natural sugars. You add pineapple to some other fruit it is great.

Great refreshing drink could be green tea. Pour 2 cups very hot water over 4 green tea bags and steep 3-6 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. Add 2 cups cold water and chill. If you want like lemon and it sweet, try putting some sugar free lemonade packet in it.
