I do drink lots of water but I like tea as well. I have one cup of coffee in the morning and I don't count that as part of my water but I do count tea as part of my water intake...right or wrong...I do count it. I do try to get at least 4 glass of plain water in per day.

Well, that's probably a better idea (the way you do it), I think I will see if I can do it your way! But if for some reason that proves to be an unrealistic expectation, then I know that I can fall back on still having one vice--thanks! emoticon

I had a big diet Coke habit --- and still enjoy it. Cutting back took time. At least now I make sure I get my water in each day, and the diet Coke is "extra".

Thank you! I've been trying to switch from 3-4 cans of diet pop to 1 can diet pop +water, but I'm not sure I can always stick to the 1 can rule...I know that the water is a lot cheaper than the diet pop!

I believe you can't count anything with caffeine in it. Hopefully someone will come along that knows more.

Hi everyone, I have a question. I read the story in the Health Section about guidelines for how much of what kinds of fluids you should have (mostly water), but my question is, if we are following SparkPeople recommendations, can we ever count like, a diet soda as part of our water intake? I seem to remember other weight loss plans I've been on that wouldn't accept anything but real water....but I haven't been able to find what Sparkpeople recommends.
