we had a wonderful day and got 1/2 inch of rain .... just marvelous ... the yard and trees needed that good ole healthy rain .... kept us out of our pool for a while this morning but we eventually got in when the storm passed ....

you really made some miles Elsie .... saying we might have some rain tomorrow so hope it passes before you have to go through it ....

I NEVER have gotten use to LOSING an HOUR !! this eastern time is not in my system after 14 years .... LOL .... and then LOSING ANOTHER HOUR for daylight savings is a REAL BUMMER !! oh well, I get to go to bed earlier !!

Since it is late and I have several teams to post on, I am going to do the old copy and paste routine.....too tired to make separate notes...LOL

I left home at 7:30 AM central time and it is now 10:15 PM Eastern time. I am at a Super 8 about 15 miles south of Fort Worth, Indiana. Tomorrow I will have 4 to 5 hours drive to get to my sister's.

So far the trip has been very smooth. God has lead me all the way even to a motel within my intended price range. DJ is glad to get out of the car so he can stretch out some.

nice and warm here .... went out on a bike ride down to the water dam and sat on the bench and watched the boats and geese with all their little babies swimming and having a good time .... heading for the swimming pool tomorrow morning for my classes ... have a great day everyone!

my arches have fallen and sometimes hurt.

Woke up about midnight with pain in the arch and ankle of my left foot. Took a long time to go back to sleep. My son took the day off from work and we went to the doctor. I either sprained my left foot or pulled a ligament...

The pain medicine I have been on since I left Kentucky is addictive and looses its potency over time so more is needed. Doctor is weaning me off the stuff. If it isn't one thing then it's another...

I do have a pain medicine and now working on getting off the other without being in too much pain.

This is a repeat from another team but it will have to do.

DH and I went out this afternoon to the senior living center 1st annual flea market ... real good bargains since today was the last day ... got me a nice wallet for a dollar !! then we went and tried out the sleep number beds .... oh my they are so very expensive but all of them were great .... that place was so so busy ... lots of folks looking into them. By then it was 5 pm so he took me to eat at the steak house across the street by where we had parked ... it was so very good ....going to get in a little more exercising this week for that !! LOL

was an enjoyable beautiful day here in Ohio ... little warm but the humidity was very low ... just gorgeous ...

By this time tomorrow, I hope to be on the other side of Saint Louis and into Illinois.

I will be loading the car tonight after the heat goes down some. Supposed to get up to 100 today. Vicky and Bruce (grands) may help me with the toting and running. All I have to do outside is put my mower inside the back yard and put my bushes into a tub of water. Valerie said she will water my house plants once a week for me. So I think all things are covered now. I have unplugged all the unnecessary things----TV, stereo, sewing machine, night lights, etc.

I will try to post my position when I stop tomorrow night.

yes i and dh enjoy a car ride. we have a waterfall in the neighbor so it always makes a nice ride.

My son took me for a ride today. It was nice to get out and see some of the island I have not seen for awhile. Four walls can be boring.

Getting the laundry done so I can finish packing. I will load the car tomorrow in the evening as we are possibly going to get to 105 tomorrow.

I will be eating piece meal tomorrow so I don't leave a bunch of stuff in the frig. Valerie is going to check the frig after I leave and take anything that might spoil. I did parcel out a 1/2 gallon of milk and put the containers in the freezer.

Mostly ready to go---------just doing last minute things. If the motel I stop at Monday night has wifi I will post where I am. I hope to be either all the way or most of the way across Illinois Monday night. My route is I - 44 to I - 70 in Saint Louis. I - 70 to I - 69 in Indianapolis. Then I 69 to my sister's house in Michigan.

I wanna go to that carnival ... sounds like so much fun .... getting my chores done early ... it is so very nice here with little humidity .... was going to wash my car but think that ironing board jumped out and hit me as I walked into the house from the garage .... the longer I wait the longer it takes !!

My son took me to the Mal today to buy some books to read. He stopped by his cell provider and and I pushed myself around the food court in the wheelchair. One way to strengthen my arms. I am getting much better with the wheelchair.

Had a good lunch of vegetables and shrimp.

Made it to the fitness center today. I have had to skip on the 100 degree days as I just couldn't do it. It felt good to get my work out in.

My littlest GD who practically lives with me is leaving at 4 am with the neighbors on a trip to NC as a companion for their daughter for a week's vacation. Lots of excitement getting her packed and having her farewell dinner tonight. It will be rather quiet at Grannys house for the next week.

Cooling off tonight, but another hot spell on the horizon. Just watched our Governor touring one of our local dairy farms and looking at drought destroyed corn. Sad

I sure got my walking in today. We were busy at the hospital---lots of people having tests done and several having surgery. We were very busy so didn't get to set around this month.

Very good meal too at the hospital----grilled chicken breast, grilled veggies, green beans, and fresh melon for desert. They fresh baked warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies were brought to us---I only took 1.

Now, I have sweet potatoes, green beans, and a turkey burger on the grill for supper. Laundry tomorrow.

A month long carnival, woo hoo !!

Tomorrow is the celebration of the beginning of the Liberation of Guam from the Japanese at the end of WWII! We have had a carnival since the beginning of the month and there will be a parade on Marine Corps Drive that is really a big event.

Most of the people of Guam are very pro American and this remembrance part of the reason.

We are in the 100 to 103 range this week. Had to turn the A/C on before 9 AM.

Not doing much outside this week. I have some errands to do this afternoon while I am in Carthage. It is 10 miles for me to drive there so I do things while I am in town I do have to go into town every day for the next 3 days. 10 miles doesn't sound like far but with the gas prices the way they are, I make as few trips as possible. When I was working, a 30 minute drive to work didn't seem like much at all now I put off going 10 miles as long as possible-------LOL

There is a good breeze but the air is from the south therefore it's just blowing hot air around.

We are having a cold spell here, only in the mid to upper 80's today. At least my son is able to work today.

I had two little girls overnight last night and now I have three enjoying lunch in my kitchen. My GD spends most of her time with me and she has an abundance of little friends in and out all the time. I keep saying I haven't known too many of the graduates the last few years (and this is a small town of 4600) but when this bunch graduates I will probably know them all.

Not much else going on here. This afternoon little GD and I will be doing her packing for her trip to NC with our neighbors. She is going to spend a week in a beach house at a family gathering as a companion for their daughter who seems always be sort of left out because the majority of her cousins and older and male. It should be quite an adventure for them both.

My son, who is staying with me now, had a cyst removed from the upper right shoulder of his back today. It was larger than the doctor expected but it is all gone. When he came home we went out for lunch. He as the Filipino chicken soup and I had salmon at Denny's. Denny's has a lunch special each day that is an over abundance of food. I would have had to bring about half of what he had home. I was full with my food especially since I added a side salad.

Sorry it is so hot for many of you. My weather thing has disappeared off my computer and I cannot find it. Bummer! During the day our weather runs in the mid '80's. It is the humidity that gets to us.

I just LOVE this group and all the wit and humor .... you all are totally TERIF !!!

Got to the pool this morning at the Y -- was EXHAUSTED when I got out just short of 2 hours later .... good workout for sure and the water was soooooo nice and cool .... Me and my fellas are just hanging around inside today as it is over 90 and steamy outside.

ELSIE you better take some pennies with you to Michigan cause they have a few slots up there too .... saving mine for Tulsa in September when I head down that way ...

The back brakes on my car have been replaced and the oil will be changed after TOPS on Thursday. Friday morning I am getting my haircut then working at the hospital Friday afternoon. Saturday will be planting 2 bushes, final laundry and finish packing . Sunday after church I will load the car planning on leaving Monday morning. I will be in Michigan by Tuesday. I will spend one night as I don't drive much after dark in unfamiliar areas.

Those are my plans....hoping they are God's plans, too..................Elsie

I really like this group and agree that 60+ should include anything over 60 so you are stuck with me unless you kick me out.

My car is going to the body shop week after next. I have known the body shop owner for many years and he is doing the insurance work which is minimal and throwing in a few extra repairs of parking lot door dings at no extra cost. I haven't talked to my friend this week to see what transpired. It's not going to be a big deal for either of us but it's just too bad it had to happen. At least no one was hurt.

Temps heading over 100 degrees here today so I will probably lay low.

Our team is 60+, so why can't we be 70 and with the 60+'s? I am a strong proponent of Peter Pan! (I wont grow up.)

Hope you all get some rain soon. We have a shower or two most afternoons but since this is the rainy season here in the tropics we could have rain all day long.

I am restricted to the house unless someone strong enough takes me outside. It is a treat to go shopping because I get out and see other people and different walls.

It's heading into another "really" hot spell here, not to be confused with a regular hot spell We have been breaking records all over the place and a few areas have gotten some scattered showers, but not where I am. My grass is brown and crackly and my flowers are all dead. I am watering my shrubbery that was just planted two years ago but it's barely staying alive. My blue hydrangeas are losing their color and one of the winterberry bushes has a lot of dry leaves and my water bill is through the roof--to say nothing of the poor farmers who have a fortune invested in planting a crop that is ruined.

I had to do a lot of running around today and it just wiped me out getting from the car into the various buildings and back. I could never stand being outside in this stuff very long.

Not much to talk about but the heat.

Finally got my little hybrid back and now I'm happy .... DH and I went to lunch and they served his to him and forgot me .... hmmmmm ... what cha think???? finally got my soup (cold) and salad at the same time .... then we went to Aldi's and they were sealing the asphalt ... couldn't get outta there fast enough before the car had tar all over it .... we decided it was our Friday the 13th .... LOL ... been home ever since and I cleaned out the bathroom closets ....

here the mornings are cool. but i did not exercise. i baked zucchini bread. low fat margerin and egg whites.

Elsie, I think it's the weather. Thisheat has made me very sluggish. I push my self to move around so as not to gain weight.

Someone stole my get up and go and left me with the sit arounds!!!

I don't have time to do the sit arounds.............got bushes to plant, a tree seedling to put in a pot, weed whacking to do, packing to do, etc and here I sit and sit and sit...........LOL

packing will be done Saturday and Sunday so hopefully I can leave Monday.

weed whacking-----well if it gets done it gets done if not then it will be done in Sept.

I've been up almost 4 hours so probably should think about getting dressed for the day.......and hanging out a load of laundry then get my undies washed----lol doing the final laundry on Saturday.

got DH to take me to Sam's Club to pick up my KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce ... just can NOT live without it during the every other day grilling outside time of the year !! The bottles got smaller but the price stayed the same ..... hmmmmmm

He took me to eat at Don Pablos and it was delish ... had chicken fajita ... love it because they actually put the calories of each item on the menu .... that was HALF the calories of one of their salads .... what a deal !!

mostly what we have is brown twigs that has been called grass in the spring.

Maria and I got caught in a down pour yesterday at one of the casinos so had soaked feet the rest of the evening.

I did come home with more than I left with-----a whole $1.18 more to be exact......LOL.........you read right one dollar and 18 cents more.........hehehe....we had fun though.

It's been clouding up here for nearly an hour........maybe just maybe we might get some rain.....I do have clothes on the line though. temp is 96 with only a 27% humidity so rain is unlikely.....lots of clouds though...

whew good deal....

sure hope we get some rain they are forecasting ... only grass growing in our yard is the bermuda that I bought in Tulsa and we planted the last 2 years .... it LOVES this heat but the fancy Kentucky Blue Grass is a brittle bright yellow right now .....

DH went to get my car back -- finally -- hope they managed to correct their goofs on my tire rims okay .... they kept it 2 days longer so hope they didn't grind the rims til there is only half of them left ......... that would be awful ...

cleaning house today and finally got everything washed so ironing today to get that done .... put a good movie on and it goes by so quickly ....
