Good morning all.

I learned this many years ago and had it reinforced this past year. Progress is progress as long as it is moving forward. The thing is dieting is more than counting calories or measuring food. It is a complete change of life style. And that takes time. In this day of instant everything, change of eating habits do not occur instantaneously.

Oooooh! I just came over to see about an 11-month check in!

I had a great December - and made it to Onederland!

I've learned that weight-loss is probably 50% physical and 50% mental... and the mental part is the hard part!

I've learned that you have to be doing things right across the board... You can be blasting calories but if you aren't eating well or getting enough sleep or getting too much sodium... you won't get the resutls you want.

I've learned that I'm stronger and tougher than I ever thought I could be.

And I've learned that I can BELIEVE in myself... after not having any confidence in my ability to do this... I've pretty much done a 180.

And finally, I've learned that emoticon soooooo much! This site has given me my life back, and I'm grateful for everyone I've met along with way!

Here's to a great month to take us to our one year Sparkaversary!!!

Well said Bev, we have learnt some things along the way, and that is an achievement.

My most important lesson learnt is that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, perseverance, patience and strength of character are the main ingredient to get anywhere I want

I was faithful for the first 6 months and a few pounds away from the top range of a healthy weight, then I was seduced by life. I thought I knew it all. Wrong!

We continue to change as we get older and we need to continually adjust our eating habits and exercises.

So I fell behind the last 6 months and gained a few pounds back. I know what I did wrong but other things were playing against me. I don't think I absorbed the nutrients from my food as well as I did even 6 months ago so I've added a multiple vitamin.

We continue to learn and we need to continue to monitor our health. How often? I don't know but more often as we get older. I'm 61 so it's about time I got a little smarter. I need to show some improvement for my 12 month check in.
