Well I am back from Vacation got on the scale down .2 My useer name is now snailman. That makes a loss of 6 pds in 6 months.I am not real proud of how slow I am going but I was warned with 12 pds to go it can be a challenge on the flip side sitting in a car 14 hours up and 14 hours back I think the onlly thing that saved was I carried my notebook every where we ate and wrote it down and stayed at the low end of my caloric range.I learned all that from you folks I appreciate all the support and motivation. Good luck to all I am in this for the long haul.

Since I started this journey, I have gone from 76 kgs/167.2 lbs to 69.6 kgs/153.1 lbs (Finally under 70 kgs!), which means a loss of 6.4 kgs or 14.1 lbs! I am thrilled because if you told me that six months, I wouldn't have believed you! I have changed my life for the better and done something I didn't think I could do! I have grown so much as a person, learned so many awesome things, and gotten to know some great people!

While I haven't lost as much weight as other people, I have some awesome non-scale victories I thrive on, I have lost a lot of inches, toned up, gone from size 10/12 to a size 6, I have changed my nutrition and fitness habits completely, and I am soooo glad that this is my new lifestyle!

Ti, I think you'll make it by September--but you're right--this is a "rest of our lives" kind of thing!!

I am delighted beyond words to have gotten rid of the almost 20 pounds that had hampered my life. It's great to feel good about how things fit, and worry about something other than the same "stuck and out of control" feeling!

And I'm so proud of us for sticking it, and still keeping on--and really just sad for the folks who have quit!! Makes me want to go through their computers and coax them back!

OMG, Ti, that's great! I've been playing hide and seek with the same 5 pounds for the last 6 months. I turn 51 on November 12. I want to be rid of them and about 10 more.

I am so proud to be a member of this team! You all are amazing, and remember, each victory, no matter how small, improves our lives. We continue to head in the right direction.

I have NEVER stayed with a program for six months, and if you'd asked back in Feb. if I'd be satisfied with a 20 lb loss I'd have said "no way!" But now I'm thrilled with it, because I know those 20 will never come back. I now have the knowledge, and more importantly, the support, to keep it off. For me, activity is key. Exercise is no longer a bad word. Tracking and Teams Support are my other lifesavers...

So here's to us Team! emoticon
And I look forward to checking in with you all next month...

Wow! Congratulations to everyone for sticking in there. That's super exciting that many of you have made such great progress toward your goals! I haven't been losing as quickly as I would have liked, but am slowly moving in the right direction. When I started sparkpeople I was usually weighing-in around 130+, now all my morning weigh-ins since June 2nd have been in the 120s....celebrating little victories I guess ;-)

G'day team!

I've lost 52 lbs in these 6 months with SP and more importantly I've changed my life, for the better. SP has helped me understand how my body works, what it needs and why it needs it, and now I know that these will be lifelong changes.

I've got 6.5kg / 14 lbs to go to reach my original goal of 77kg, I hope to be there by my birthday on Sep 30 so I have a 7 weeks of hard work to get there! But I know if I don't make that timeframe, it's OK too, because I have the rest of my life to get there

I've lost 41 lbs. I've been on monthly plateaus and will not give up because of them. They make me work harder because I don't like things getting the best of me. I've had days where I eat things that I want and exercise more. And other days I don't do a darn thing! Moderation is my goal for a lifestyle change. I just got into a size 14 from my original size 22! I started my own team for my county in Illinois and I co-lead 2 other teams. I log on everyday. I huddle, comment on blogs, & visit peoples pages! If I didn't log on and do all those things I believe that I would have given up already. The people on my teams keep me going. I love competition! I also couldn't live healthy without SPARKS!

Well!

I didn't realize that there was been such a struggle for the past month for quite a few members, including me! I am forced to report that I GAINED since July. From 149.5 (Yay!) to 155 (Boo!).Like some other posters, I have slacked off on my exercise and started eating more. But I have kept up with drinking my water, and haven't given up on exercise completely.

Hoping to give you a better report come September, because I definitely WILL be around!

I'm still around but not really doing much. I check e-mails and post to some teams but do not seem to plan my meals and have so much trouble with the exercise. I have fibromyalgia and just hate the extra pain. I know I make one excuse after another and just need to do it. Congrats to all of you that have lost weight.

Hi Ti,

I think at this point I just want to stop and draw a breath. It's been great running around without so many pounds. Got to get back to being serious though. Christmas will be here before you know it and I want to look better then I do now. Not to mention buy a few new clothes.

There is a Team on SP called Flat Belly Diet. It
reminded me of some of the things we all probably forgot. Green tea helps us loose weight. There is more info on that team if you all want to look it up. There is a Flat Belly Diet book coming out this fall as well.

It would seem my body is just getting readjusted and shifting my remaining weight around. I think my body is still toning up as well and I seem to be shrinking belly fat and arm wings. I'm still trying new foods as well. For exercise (as well as going green) I've been hauling water upstairs from the dehumidifier in the basement to water my tomato plants in the yard. I also started hanging my laundry out on the deck so that means hauling the laundry up from the basement as well. If I have to fight with my neighbors over hanging laundry in the yard, I think that will be good for another 1,000 calories.

My goal is to loose 15 lbs from June 1 to Sept 30th, or is it Sept 1st? Well that's not working for me.
I'll have to adjust. Hope you are all enjoying our journey together. This is an awesome web site.

Best...Bonny Bev. emoticon emoticon

It's hard to believe it's been that long already. It's been a real learning experience for me. I've lost 24 LBS. so far. Spent about 2 months of that time where the scales just didn't want to budge and the same 2 months refusing to up my exercise program. (the platue broke when I finially added more walking.....funny how that works.) So, I wish it could have been more weight that I'd lost so far, but all-in-all I'm pretty happy with the success. I'd also like to add that Sparkpeople must be doing something right....this is the first "Diet" I've ever stuck to this long and am still going strong. Thank-you SP!!!

Hi Ti, I'm still hanging around. And still playing with the same darned 5 lbs. Up 3, down 2, up 1, down 3... I can't believe I've stayed here with my amazing lack of loss... Maybe someday I'll get off this darn plateau. I keep hoping I can find the time to exercise more, but the days aren't long enough.....
