Ti, that was a wonderful post--thank you. And it got me excited to be strength training again, too. I had a fall and pulled--I can't remember what they're called, some things that hold your ribs onto your sternum--but anyway, I haven't been able to do any strength training for several weeks. But I'm better, and I'm going to start back right NOW!

If we're HERE, we're still in the game. And winning.

Congrats to everyone, because we are all still here on SP!

Nancy, even with the 6lbs vacation weight you are still ahead, and you know how to get rid of that weight, so you will.

My weight loss has started to slow down also, and I feel like the last 20lbs will be a lot harder, but I'm determined to make it happen.

I recently saw a sparkpage of someone whose ticker had not moved in 6 months, her weight stayed absolutely the same, yet she dropped 3-4 dress sizes in those 6 months thru strength training! Oh, and she wasn't a body builder or anything. I don't know about you, but the numbers on the scale don't seem so important if I can have those kinds of results!

Chin up everyone, slow and steady we're all getting there, and congrats to those who have already arrived at their goal

Alright Jimmy you and I can be turtles together. I am just happy I am not gaining at this point.

I have to congratulate all of you who have done such a great job in these five months. I am on the slow and steady track and I know I will get there. I too am looking at my long term goal. I am still working on the consistancy thing. It is getting better but I still have work to do. emoticon

Everyone is doing so great!! And I haven't lost as much as some people but we need to realize that those are just numbers and Bev is right, it's still down some-which is better than none.

So far, I have lost 15lbs and the last month and a half i've been bouncing between 151-149, but i'm ok with that, because i wasn't as dedicated as i could have been. I do my measurements tomorrow, but i'm not really expecting huge differences.

Hi Jimmy-

I second what Bev said! This is a tough process and it is different for everyone. You may not yet have hit on the magic key for yourself to greater weightloss, but you have lost 6 lbs and kept it off. Before starting to get healthy, I was pretty much just constantly gaining for about a year and half, so don't forget that not gaining and the other improvements to your health are in fact really important!

Hey Jimmy,

Don't feel discouraged. My scale says I've gained 5 lbs back. Well, I've been sick but the point is we will go up and down. But I'm still 15 lb lighter so tomorrow I'll start from there. Some things are beyond our control so lets just do what we can and let our bodies do their thing.

Best, Bonny Bev. emoticon

Hey all
I think after reading these posts I am changing my user name to Turtle.I am sad to report in the last 5 months I have lost only about 6 pounds.I do look at my non scale victories however like everyone else the scale is moving slowly.I am extremely grateful for SP or that number would be up much higher.Congratulations to all you that are showing such progress.Keep up the great work Have a great night.

I think it's great that we've all lost weight. Even 1 lb. is an accomplishment (because I know how hard it is to lose even 1).

Deb, you sound like your feeling bad that you accomplished your goal?? I hope not, I'm happy for you and hope I get there sooner rather then later! I think it's safe to say, we'd all like to be at our goal weight now, and you've proven it's attainable!

Everyone keep up the great work, and I know I couldn't have lost mine without everyones support this far. Thank-you to everyone.

Five months, wow, time flies by when you're having fun!
I was 76 kgs/167.2 lbs when I started, and now I am 70.2/154 lbs, so I have lost 13.2 lbs so far. Slow, but steady. I have also gained a lot of muscle so that can be why I haven't lost that many pounds. I am over half-way to my original goal - when I get there I'll see if I am gonna lose more, maintain, gain more muscle or whatever.

I have also gone from a size 12 to a size 6/8. I can do 50 pushups at once and I am much better shape, and have much more energy!

Good on ya, Ti. 46 pounds, wow! I started SP Feb 13 at 190 lbs and size 18-20, since then I have lost
38 pounds and am now in loose 12's or snug 10's. I have more energy, I can squat and get back up with ease. I can wear sleeveless shirts now! Something I haven't done in about 10 years, lol. Crossing my legs was a HUGE deal to me as well.

I can't tell you how much better I feel. And it's all thanks to SP and you guys!

Wow!

Time files and each day and meal is so important!

I'm on an antibiotic for two weeks so I'm just trying to maintain but I'm finding I still tend to eat too much so I still have to track.

It's funny how we eat more then we think we do.

You guys are awesome and must love fish, eggs and
salads.

Someone should start another thread on the mystery
food that they think is THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD
that's helping them loose weight.

Mine is Total Cereal! It has 100% Vit E & B12 etc.

Hi Beachdreams,

So glad you've been successful! And I'm so glad you're still around to show us how it's done!

You CAN do it, TI! You have done great, and you have a strong spirit.

Have you ever tried visualization? It's been really helpful for me--just one minute a day, seeing yourself succeeding, being at goal--easy as can be, fun to do, might be useful to try!

G'day team!

5 months already, where has the time gone!

So I started on 14th Feb at 107kg (235 lbs) and 5 months in I am 86kg (189 lbs) total loss so far 21kg (46 lbs)

The numbers are great, but the feeling of wellbeing and having energy to do things is so much more important. I'm loving life for the first time in a really really long time.

I'm working to reach my goal of 77kg by 30th Sep (my b'day!) so I've got another 11 weeks to get there, I know I can do it! Just have to keep the motivation up every single day and I know the reward will be well worth it

I like the idea of having Christmas as a goal point, Bev. I am still at goal, can't quit tracking yet, but I have muscle goals to work on.

But who knows when I'll feel safe to live without tracking! A long time, I suspect.

I also started on 2/10/08. I've lost 38 lbs. from 215 - 176.8.
I change my exercises monthly. This month I went from 30 - 60 for cardio and do weights M-W-F! Next month I will do more weights and try to get in 90 min. of cardio. My goal was my 50th birthday in November. Now it might be my trip home for Christmas.
