I was complaining to my mom that all my pants were too big... and she had my try on a pair of her 14s!

They went on but were a little tight... but it won't be long!

My 18/20s are headed for donation and I need some 16s! I'm amazed!

Congrats on the SparkBaby, Dawna!

I uncovered another victory the other day... I wore a pair of trouser socks to work the other day - first time I'd worn then in over a year...

In the past, I had to pull them up CONSTANTLY... this year... not once! I guess my lower legs have slimmed down enough that they stay where they're supposed to now! Yahoo!

Yea Cheryl! I'm glad you're back on the boards--and on the trails! Though maybe I've just missed you. Anyway--I'd have loved to have gone with you--we could have been scared witless together! Sounds like you did great. And the plateau will tip down as you roll on past it!

I went rollerblading this week for the first time. I looked pretty pathetic out there on the skates but I got out there and at least tried. ( My husband got me the knee pads etc. but they were for "kids" and didn't fit. Then I got adult ones and the pkg was missing one so had to take them back again. The store was out of them, so...I was being overly cautious until I get the pads. The trail is a little rough and not that easy to skate on. I thought it would go so well. I can see I'm out of shape and need to get a little braver. Also rode my bike out on the trail. That was a good distance for me too. I need to work in some more exercise each day. Just not doing it. I am really trying to keep my wt. down but I'm at a plateau already and the scales don't want to budge. Jeesh!

Another, woohoo! non-scale victory, come to think of it.

Oh! I'm excited to share this awesome non-scale victory. Yesterday, I jogged 1200 meters w/out stopping. In fact, I didn't realize I completed 1200m until someone made a comment (compliment, rather). I was having a great conversation during the whole 1200m. (Notice I can't emphasize 1200m enough).

Congrats, Deia! You are right that scale victory will follow.

Somebody asked me today at work if I had lost weight. I proudly said yeah i have lost 20 pounds since January. Her response was it looks like it. It really shows. I am so tickled.

I need my non-scale victories, because the scale victories are slow in coming. But I celebrate that I have lost over 1.5 inches off my waist, that I am exercising 5-6 times a week, that I have raised the weights in my workout, and that I have figured out how to fit in a Sonic Oreo Blast without going over in calories. :D

Hopefully the scale will follow!

That's a good man!! I love a good husband--they are a gift and a joy (except when they're driving us wacko, of course!! ;)

And it will be more and more fun to show off your skin as time goes on!

Here's a related non-scale victory...the fun we had on a romantic weekend away with my DH, when I didn't have to always be thinking about whether my stomach was boiling over my cute little outfit!! Way more fun to feel good about how you're looking!

I did the dreadful swimsuit shopping on saturday. On Sunday we went to Six Flags i wore the knew swimsuit I had bought. My husband told me he didn't like it. I felt sad and said why. He said it didn't show enough skin. I was so thrilled my hubby loves me even with all of my blemishes (that sounds more pleasant than fat rolls).

Wa-Hoo! Way to go Tisha!! And Thaglund--I think that's one we all are wanting, and getting--the sense of looking in the mirror and liking our bodies! I think that is one of the best changes--along with how clothes fit!

Another good victory--somehow, when I realized I could hit that seemingly unattainable goal--it opened my eyes to all the Other things I could do!! And I'm starting to!!

Although I'm victorious on the scale, I'm more ecstatic without it.

Nancy I do better on not biting my nails also, when I eat right. I think for me it's a vitamin thing. When my nails are stronger I don't like to bite them. When they are weaker they tear and then I chew all of them down within seconds. And they are stronger when I eat right and weaker when I don't. What about your hair? My hair is fuller and looks healthier when I eat good.

I can actually complete most of a dvd and afterwards, I don't want to die! It's even gotten to the point where I'm ready to do more after. Not sure if I'm brave enough to do that yet, lol.

Though I still have layers, you can feel the muscle underneath in my legs and arms.

Eventhough my clothes haven't really gotten too lose yet, I'm feeling better about myself and buying better looking clothes.

I can walk a lot further before I want to stop.

I followed through on riding my bike to and from school since it's started... Though I gotta cheat this Thursday to take my project in. It's way too big to carry on my bike, lol.

I'm eating a lot healthier, though not as healthy as I could be. It's just something else I need to work on.

The scale didn't move again today. But when I stretched after my run tonight I found that I had more flexibility. My massage therapist at the chiropractor's office had shown me some different stretches to try. But anytime I had tried them I felt like I was doing the same stretches that i had been doing. I realized that they had looked different when she showed them to me because she was able to stretch to the floor and I am not as limber as her and was not able to do that. But tonight after my run I was able to.

lets see my non scale victory is that i went from being a size 20 to a size 11 since febuary. i have never been a size 11. today is the best day i have had in a long time. i have been feeling really bad cause between work and packing to move and doing the whole mommy thing i dont have much time for exercise anymore. like i still do my walking every night for work. ( i walk literally all night long around a supermarket). so on breaks i sneak into the bathroom and sneak some exercises in. a little is better then non. but that is my non scale victory. from 20 to 11. i am so proud of myself. so for all the gibber jabber.

I finally got around to buying a six pack of chick peas, black beans and spinach. Made a huge salad with spinach, chick peas, cheese, pretzels and red bell peppers with yogurt for dressing. I felt so strong (this is 9:30 PM) I made a double batch of rye pancakes with wheat germ for my son and boiled eggs for my dear husband. Unloaded the dishwasher and brought up a load of laundry. It's after midnight but still feeling up to getting caught up with SP e-mails. I'm also getting closer to trying to follow the recommended menu because I see it is well balanced. It's also a great training tool to give you more options to make it easier to be successful. I would recommend you all give it a try. I'm realizing that at a 3 month veteran I'm just beginning to learn what I need to. Balance is so very important. Expanding your ability to like different foods will make this lifestyle change so much more fun.

Much health and well being to all of you!

It's just so wonderful to hear all this!! Thaglund--it's so exciting to hear how well you're doing!

Wimpie, you WILL see changes on the scales as you stick with that behavior! And how wonderful that your son commented on it!!

Red--you're amazing! I look forward to the next pictures!

Nice Thread !

- I can run for over an hour without collapsing!
- I can fit into clothes from any regular store and dont even need to get the extra large! ( or even large sometimes! ) I've gone from a 14-16 to a 10-11 which is the smallest I've ever been as an adult.
- My arms are getting more and more definition and I love looking in the mirror when I lift weights to see them! I also love being able to see my collar bones :)
- I have more energy and sleep well
- My skin has gotten better ( probably from all the water )
- I am no longer addicted to Diet Coke and can go weeks without drinking any without missing it!

Getting back on track after #1 while trying for #2!

This is a GREAT thread! For me, all my victories are non-scale (so far).
1) My fruit & veggies are up substantially. My exercise is up substantially (anything up from zero is substantial).
2) If I'm feeling sluggish, I actually decide I need exercise instead of food (most of the time anyway).
3) My son has to pick up his pace to stay ahead of me when we shop. Last night he commented, "You really ARE moving faster than you used to!"
4) I feel pride that I'm doing SOMETHING GOOD for me, even if it doesn't show on the scale or in the fit of my clothes.

Aha, here is a good thread for me. Where we can yell victory in some areas even though every scale I get on seems to be broken.

I am up to exercising 4-5 days per week or more without even dragging myself to do it. I look forward to my runs, walks, or biking. As a family we have gone a few times up to the walking path to walk/run.

I feel more energized and alive. It used to be I could sleep all the time. Whenever I wasn't sleeping I was thinking about sleeping. Now I wake up after 8hrs of sleep and my body says that's enough let's get moving. For me that is the best change of all. It's been at least 15 years or more since I have felt like I got enough sleep.

My mouth is dryer (sorry if misspelled) if I don't drink a glass of water reminding me that I need my water in.

I am so grateful that you started this thread. I hope I didn't exceed my space limit. LOL There are many more victories, but these are the big ones.

I have a few :)

I can run a mile - I so couldn't do that before!

I went from the biggest notch on my belt (if I even dared to wear it) to the smallest!

And I mentioned this one on another thread, but my feet don't get numb anymore when I do strenuous activity! What an improvement!

Keep it up, everyone!

Lost inches but no weight.

I don't know if I'll ever loose any more weight.
It seems like I'm stuck.

My non scale victory is that I am now able to do a mile on the treadmill in under 10 minutes. When I first started It took me a little over 20 minutes to do a mile.

Whats your nonscale victory.

Scale is being stubborn and won't move? Loosing motivation?

If so lets use non scale victories to get us through the rough patch. What are your Non scale victories?
