It was one of our first "spring days' of the season here in Washington, so I slipped on a sundress I hadn't worn since last spring. I remember hating it--I bought it for a wedding and it was too small, but I thought I'd give it one more try.

We were headed out for church and a brunch with my in-laws. I came out of my room all dressed up in my white sundress and my spiffy sandals (I never wear sandals). My nine year old daughter gasped and said...

"Oh Mommy!!! You don't look nearly so fat!"

I thought my husband was going to pass out from shock... not knowing what to do about my daughter's comment.

I know she meant it to be a compliment... so I took it that way (mostly).

I might have been offended, but the dress did zip up without effort (last time I wore it I was sure the zipper was broken... perhaps my daughter was right..).

I got great funny personal cards from both my kids who live far away, and they both called too. I love those kids!

I had my Mom--and Dad--over for a very special dinner. I told my sister later that evening that I thought I had figured out a way to respond to her...but I'm probably fooling myself... Oh well! Maybe before she dies I'll figure it out! And I do love her.

I have to work on the weekends, so it really sucks. But took my child to my mom's on Saturday, so had a night without her. Then my husband bought me a sweet card and some european chocolate... It was so good, but so bad, lol. I must admit I ate half of the bar (which has 4.5 servings), but I did share it with the hubby. My daughter made me a picture at school. The rest of the family called and said happy mother's day and I also told the females in my family. So yeah, it wasn't a bad mother's day at all.

I was lucky because my mom came to visit me. emoticon

On Mom's Day, we went out to a nice cafe for breakfast, and then we went to Beverly Hills to walk around and window shop. Also, Saturday we went for a long walk on the beach which I think counts too. It was a very nice weekend!

We had a yummy lunch, shopped for purses and hats, then saw a movie. It was a perfect day!

Well this was the best Mother's Day ever! Sat. I got 2 dozen roses and a small box of chocolates in the mail from my son Michael. We don't get to talk much. I email him a few times a week with no response. He's been busy and wanted me to know that he thinks about me often even though we don't get to talk! (happy tears)!

Then on Mother's Day, my DH cleaned out our extra closet where I thought I put some old clothes. Lo and behold they were there. I had gained my weight quickly and my DH had just bought be a lot of clothes. I found 4 brand new pairs of jeans that actually fit and 1 pair of cotton capris. They looked like I just took off the tags. It was like getting a shopping spree in the privacy of my own home. I was in heaven! Oh, by the way, they were size 16

Hope everyone had a Grand Mother's Day Weekend! emoticon

Would love to hear your story! Here's mine!

I was fortunate enough to celebrate Mother's Day all
weekend with the family. Sat the weather was mild and sunny all day in Michigan.

We started Sat morning by eating breakfast at the Farmer's Mkt Café while listening to our favorite folk band the "Motor City Sidestrokers", who were playing live. The band consists of a stand up bass, banjo, violin and guitar player. Then we ran into another couple we know and together shopped at the Mkt for patio tomato and pepper plants, which will be potted tomorrow. Then the family did some mall shopping and ate dinner out. Wow! A whole day of being together and everyone got along.

Sun. Being rainy, cloudy and dreary, we took in a movie and came home to a cosy candlelight dinner. I received beautiful Mother's Day Cards which I will keep in my dresser drawer forever.

May you all feel as beautiful and special as I feel today!
Blessings, Bonny Bev. emoticon emoticon
