Thank you so much for all the help. I have decided to go back to basics. I'm going to focus on water this week. I'll add on as I can. My all-or-nothing mentality is not helpful. I need to remember that in the long run, baby steps will take me there with a lot less frustration.

Hi Duk,

I would just try to set a small goal that you can keep! And that will make you feel back on track. I definitely get distracted and then I have to pull myself back in. For me that usually means tracking my food again. If that is too much, perhaps try to get in your water, as mrscplus suggests, or something else simple. Trying to do something every other day can help take the pressure off too. Also, just spending time on Spark can really help to get one's head back in the game, just to get you back to thinking about your goals positively.

I had and am still having an inconsitant time. I started out with just trying to drink the 8 glasses of water. I noticed that I gain weight if I do not do this everyday. Then I started to try to eat breakfast everyday. Once I did that for a week or two I added more goals. I hope this helps. emoticon

Hi Dukhedz,

My whole life has been stressed. You can't help others if you can't help yourself. Keep only the right foods in the house so if you overeat it will be the right foods. That will help you get back to the right portions and if you don't eat sugar, that will help your arthritis. Ginger is also a natural anti- inflammatory. Check out myspark page for some good info. Be patient and take one day at a time.

I suggest starting right now, be accountable for all foods, JOURNAL. Then log water you drink, log all exercise (any movement), and keep posting on this site. We have all been there and have found support with each other during the difficult times. It will get better, use the spark team to keep you going with encourgement, ideas and just friendship.

The choices you make today will determine the path that your life will take. When you sit back and look at the decisions you've made in your life, are you happy with the route you've paved? If you're not, make a change today. The next time you make a choice, ask yourself if this decision will lead you to the path you want to travel along. Set some new goals that will lead you to your dreams and then plan your course. (taken from Spark reflections)

Don't know if the dog in the picture is yours or not, but you could start by going for short walks with him! Make sure you drink enough water and start eating fruits and veggies every time you get hungry. It's better to do a little than to not do anything. Good Luck! Hope this helped a little emoticon

I need help.I was building momentum until about 3 weeks ago when stress, lack of sleep and arthritis commandeered my decisions. I've been lurking in the outskirts since then. I've been able to maintain some good choices but not with any consistency. I need to get back on the SP track but can't seem to make it click. I'm hoping a short-term goal will move me forward. Any suggestions? I know I need to get that positive mindset back, but how? I will cruise SP for motivation but it would help to know if anybody here has gone through this and what helped get them out of it.
