Agreed! The things I'm going to give up this year are defeatest thinking, unhealthy ruts, excuses, and excess sitting time! ;)

In all honesty, I don't think its a good idea to give up the things we love. It seems like the people who do, who go on these crazy diets just can't stick with things they dislike. Moderation is the key. Its hard to only have one chocolate covered almond but if you try to disipline yourself, it really works.

I like to think that I didn't give up anything! :) All things in moderation. I certainly didn't give up pizza - that would be no fun! - I just get one slice instead of two. And I didn't give up cheese, which is a big indulgence for me - but I did switch to lowfat, which is just as good!

I'm with you onthe sugar, Ti--I make loose tea in a pot every morning, and use sugar--quite a bit, actually! But I did it the whole time I lost down to goal, so no worries!

And I find I can't give up sweets, though I do work them in...mostly...or maybe I'm backsliding...
I haven't gained, but the jury is still out on that process!

Good morning all. I don't know if there is anything I'd give up. More than likely, I would cut back on useage. Although, I have just about given up on soft drinks. The reason is, while I like sweets, I do not like to drink something sweet. When I want a cold drink, I want it to be refreshing and soft drinks do not do that for me. Now enjoy your day. Larry

Mine is Lasagne. I make it once a week and I love it. The good thing about making it myself is I know what goes into it and I can plan the rest of my day around it. Since my wife is 7 months pregnant now going back for seconds usually isn't a problem since it's usually all gone by the time I finish eating mine.

I can't give up chocolate, lol. I found a pizza that is really good and mostly healthy. If you have a Papa Murphy's around, their DeLite veggie is very droolworthy and you don't even miss the meat!

I REFUSE to give up Miracle Whip. The low fat Miracle Whip or lite or whatever you want to call it, I categorize as Playskool Plastic Food.

Soooooo....I don't eat Miracle Whip often but it will always be a part of a tuna or salmon sandwich. SO THERE! Any fat ball you can find on my body,
well, you'll know what it is.

I find this very funny. I won't give up my coffee either. That means I have creamer of some sort. Usually flavored. I also have a cappuccino in the afternoon. Sorry won't give them up!

PIZZA I have spent months trying to find THE perfect tasty, low-cal, filling pizza. I've come close with the Lean cuisine ones, but they have more sodium than I would like. But most pizza's say 3-4 servings and I only do 1 serving (the whole pizza). My DH told me to stay away from them, but I knew better than to do that. It would have ruined my whole losing weight process. I would love to make my own, but never know which dough would taste good or the calories in it. I would love to make my own low-fat wheat dough, but my kitchen is so small I could barely fit inside it when I was heavier LOL! (just kidding)!

That's interesting because the one thing I refuse to give up is whipped topping in my coffee. I am perfectly happy with the "Lite" or "free" but I simply will not give it up (unless I run out between trips to the grocery store). I have added my "doctored" coffee to the "food groups" section so I don't have to list every single thing now. That makes it much easier for me to make sure it gets added to my nutritional tracking.

I am conqueror, hear me ROAR!!!

I was having an interesting conversation with a friend about the 1 thing that I won't give up in my lifestyle change and weight loss, and I'm wondering if everyone else has something they won't (not the same as can't) give up

Mine is sugar in my coffee. Artificial sweeteners are just that, artificial, and I won't go anywhere near them. I'm happy to have brown sugar and non-fat milk, but I will not give up my sugar or coffee for that matter.

Just curious
