Whoa!

I was sick with the flu for awhile but as I'm finally checking in again, you all make me so proud!
Happy Mother's Day and coming up
Happy Father's Day!

Look at the wonderful gift you've given yourselves!

I have to admit, when I went for a walk the other
day I had to almost hold my jeans up to keep them from falling off. I think it'd be a good idea to
get a pair of those stretchy kind that cling.
Sure wouldn't want to embarrass myself and my husband. Check out my stats below! emoticon

I'm late checking in...I've been slumping for a while.
However
-I'm maintaining my 25+# loss
-I feel SO much better
-I'm happier than I've been in a long time
-I'm fitting back into clothes I haven't worn in over three years
-My daughter was inspired to join SP
-Chips are gone in my house but there's always a bowl of bananas, apples, and oranges
-I might be moving slowly, but I'm still moving forward
-I love SP Kathy M.

Smile...it does good things to your head.
And people wonder what you've been up to.

Wa-HOO!!! It's so fun to see the changes! And it challenges me to see if I'm getting stronger too--I know my clothes are sure lose!

It will be THREE months in about a week--I am going to have broken through this plateau by then!!

Here's what's amazing to me--the plateau I'm dealing with is 3 pounds below my original goal. I'm seeing new possibilities and I'm free to go for it in a totally new way!

Working for the three month goal!

Wow, it has been that long, hasn't it!?!
Then: 185 lbs, many pants that were too snug for comfort, and difficulty with passing the situp portion of my PT test in the National Guard.

Now: 165 lbs, many pants that are quite loose, and I passed my PT test yesterday with more pushups than ever before and more situps than I've done since basic training over 20 years ago!

If it's going to be it is up to me!

After 2 months?
I have lost 25.5 pounds
Went from a size 18/20 to officially a size 14! I bought my new size this weekend! YAY!

I can cross my legs comfortably, and I haven't done THAT in years.

Keep up the great work EVERYONE!

I'm amazed. We really ARE doing great!! And that is a testament to Spark People, because I've NEVER done this before!

I'm within 2 pounds of what I think will be my goal--then the focus will be on toning. I've lost enough to wear my 'measuring skirt', and I'm having the same problem with clothes--in fact, I LOVE one pair of my jeans now, they're really long and lose--it's great!! This pair slips dang near off my hips, which is actually a bit irritating...I'll just have to go shop I guess!! YAY!!

WOW! This team is doing great!! All those pounds and inches gone.. I've lost 10 lbs, and I think if I can get off this one med that I'm on, that it will help, because one of the side effects is weight gain.. LOL I've lost inches, but I don't have it written down anywhere, I don't think... Everyone notice as they're losing weight, their pants get to be too long??? I'm tripping over mine, and have to keep pulling them up, so I think it's time to go SHOPPING!! Yaaa! Have a wonderful weekend...

My successes to date:

I have lost ten pounds!!! Lost at least 2 inches!!! Fitting into my clothes much better. Exercising more. Completed walking a 13.1 mile minimarathon. Eating healthier. Drinking more water. Starting to run a little.

Congratulations to all. this is such a great place to start. We began in Feb and look at us now.

My accomplishments to date:
1.lost 11 pounds, not easy with my breathing condition
2.journaling all my foods
3.journaling my limited exercise, started respiratory PT and going to the pool today for a try...Yeah!!
4.checking in daily with my spark teams
5.reading all the information that I can limiting my computer time to 45 minutes or less a day. this is hard, would love to stay on longer!
6.making new friends
7.spark point, a nice incentive to continue to be active
8. A new Healthier ME!!! and that is the best part of this journey. Taking the time for me and getting all the support from my new friends. Thank you,

i am doing great. my weight loss kinda slowed down but i can fit into a size 14. thats amazing to me. thats like 2 or 3 pants sizes. and i just started tae bo. man that makes you sweat but i love it. i do it with my son and my newborn just sits in her chair and looks at us like we are crazy. but you know i have dropped 26 lbs since i started, i really dont know the inches but i am sure its a good amount.
keep up the good work every one.

This team really rocks!!! I'm so proud of you!!!

I must do some celebrating myself....since two weeks pre-SP (Feb 5) to now, I've transformed from:

269.8 pounds to 248.8 (21lbs loss)
45" waist to 39"
52" hips to 49.5" (first time under 50" in 5+ years)
15" neck to 14"

I feel so ALIVE, ALERT and HAPPY.
I exercise more and enjoy a.m. workout.
I eat 3-4 fruits and veggies daily.
I down one dress size.

Yes, Redrane gets lots of exercise. I break out in sweat each time I read her posts :- )

I'm inspired by the people of SP, my new friends and team mates. I'm so happy I joined this team. You're my inspiration.

Congrats to everyone!! We're getting fit and healthy together. Amen.

Sorry to be late checking in... It's been a busy 2 months... I quit smoking and have gone from 221 lbs to 189lbs. I walk and ride a stationary bike daily and strength train on alternate days. I am using the Physicians weightloss 700 cal plan. I am monitored every otehr day and so far it's working. emoticon

It's truely exciting and wonderful to see everyone's progress--on our weight, but also progress on lifestyle and attitude and health habits and self-directed behavior.

I feel like I've transformed over the past two months since I joined, into a woman who understands how her body works, how to give it what it needs, how to take care of myself in whole new ways.

It sounds sappy to say how much Spark People means to me--but honestly--it's wonderful!

Started Spark Feb 10.2008 Started my life change Feb.3,2008.These are my stats from 2/3/08.
Weight 376
waist 57 inches
hips 60+ inches (60 is as high as my tape measure goes)
thighs 30 inches
arms 19 inches

As of Thursday,April 17,2008
weight 332 -44lbs.
waist 46.5 -10.5 inches
hips 55.5 -at least 5 inches
thighs 26.5 -3.5 inches
arms 16 -3 inches

I am eating 4 fruits and 5 veggies a day
I am getting my grains and lean protien.
I am drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day
I am reading nutrition guides and ingredient labels,now.
I am doing strength training every other day,and getting in at least one hour of cardio every day.
I have had to buy some new clothes and am fitting into old ones that I couldn't before.
I am more confident and self-assured.
I am so much more now than I was when there was more of me.
I am now addicted to Sparkpeople.You all are wonderful people who have become such a big part of my life.My new family.I have made some very wonderful friends here.I have much love for you all.

ooh this is a great topic!

I started my journey in late october 07 so I am going to post my stats from the first time I took measurements as well!

Nov 6th, 07 - Feb 08 - April 08

Weight: 201 - 183 - 174
Chest: 42.5 - 39.5 - 38.25
Waist: 35 - 32.75 - 30.75
Hips: 43.5 - 40.5 - 38.5
Thighs: 28 - 26 - 24.75
Above
the knee: -- - 18.75 - 16.75

What excersice did I add:
CARDIO! I did a modified Couch to 5K program and just became more comitted to my excercise regime. Cario 3-4 days a week + strength training. Since starting SP I have continued with my running and added rollerblading and soon biking! I also started trying to make a few more dance classes and BOSU classes when I can. I feel great and look better than I have in years! I think I even look better than I did in highschool!

Im really happy and inspired to be part of such a great team! Keep it up everyone and congratulations on your progress so far! emoticon

Hey Everyone,

It's so great to see your progress. Doesn't it make you feel good to see how others are doing?

And a hula hoop! I haven't heard of that in years.
That put a smile on my face! emoticon

While we can't walk together, we certainly can feel
closer by looking over the long term at what we've accomplished. It's really hard to see our accomplishments on a daily basis and the small victories don't seem so significant. Looking over several months show a very significant change in our health and well being. If that's not motivating, I don't know what is. Even if we only stay on this same path, we'll continue to be successful.

Great idea!

2-10/177 lbs/waist 40.5/hips 44.5
4-18/163 lbs/waist 38 /hips 41.75

Then: Little or no exercise, and hated it when I did!
Clothes getting snug
Stayed up late, stayed in bed till last minute

Now: Do cardio & strength nearly every day
Had to have some clothes altered!
Getting to bed earlier
Get up to do my work-out BEFORE work!
General all around better feeling physically
and emotionally
Am enjoying a whole new group of friends in my
SP buddies!

This a great idea, I just updated it on my page today, coincidence?


14/02/08 - 107kg, bust 110cm, waist 110cm, hips 135cm
14/03/08 - 102.5kg, bust 107cm, waist 104cm, hips
14/04/08 - 98kg, bust 105cm, waist 97cm, hips 125cm

That's a total of 9kg (19.8lbs) and 28cm (11.2inches) lost. Goodbye, for ever

I now have a waist. I can comfortably walk for 4 kms with Gypsy. I can do a 45 minute high intensity high impact work out and feel fantastic at the end of it. My muscles don't ache after exercise.

I'm generally feeling in a good mood and energetic most of the time. That's the biggest change for me. emoticon

40" waist/ 38" waist
46 hips/ 43.5" hips

Then 2-13-08
no exercise
no walking
Joints hurt and I shuffled when I walked
Knees and lower back hurt, hard to stand up straight

Now 4-18-08
I ran for the first time in years
I walk 30 min a day outside
Joints, knees and lower back don't hurt
I can stand up straight

I'm so glad to be alive!
