I did cook them and they were AWFUL. I sauted them and they were tough. I found a recipe on Paula Deen's site that sound pretty easy. I'm going to wait awhile before I try again.

Believe it or not I found a recipe from Paula Deen that doesn't call for butter. The collards are actually boiled with smoked meat and seasonings.

To make journal entries go to My Tools then to Planner. There you will find a place to enter items into a calendar which will also send you e-mail reminders of your appointments. There is another tab for making a Journal Entry. You also get SparkPoints for making a daily journal entry.
Hope this helps.

Not too sure about the journaling - do you mean blogging? If so then that's on your spark page and you just click on edit and then type up your blog.
Greens? Well as a down-home, southern, country gal the best way to cook greens is to first buy some neck bones or ham hocks. Put them in a pot, bring em to a boil, and then dump out the water and rinse the meat (gets rid of excess salt). Keep a little water in it (not much b/c greens don't require much water) and then dump in your greens. Of course you need to season them - onions, salt, pinch of sugar (they can be bitter), pepper, and whatever else you wanna use depending on your tastes. Bring to boil, turn on low and let cook til becomes a deep, dark green color or when they become very tender. Voila! Greens are done.
Oh fogot to ask are you using fresh or frozen greens? Cuz if they're fresh greens unfortunately you're gonna have to clean the hell outta of them. You gotta go thru them good at least twice! Hope this helps

Getting fine in '09!

I would steam them...but, if he's 'a good ole boy' he would probably be horrified!!! Where's the frying pan & butter???!!!!LOL

If I went through all that I have & nobody else benefits from it, I'm going to be really mad so, God & I are going to have a long , serious talk!!!

You have the right to your own OPINION, you do not, however, have the right to your own FACTS-unknown

Hi All, I have two ?'s. I'm having a problem finding where to journal. I stumbled upon it once, but I can't find it now. Can someone help?

Second, I'm trying to learn how to properly cook collard greens. I looked in SparkRecipes but couldn't find one. My husband is a good ol boy for Charlotte, NC and misses his greens.
