Even artificial sugar makes me start craving food, I don't know why. I just use it on food and try to find drinks that don't need to be real sweet to enjoy. Splenda is a favorite.
Take care, Robbozzie emoticon

I know what you mean about soda. I wish I never started drinking it. But the last couple weeks I have been soda free. I have been drinking Iced tea.... Now I just need to cut out all the sugar that I add too it or start using splenda or something.

Sounds like you think sensibly ahead of time. I try to think like that but end up in a rut with my healthy spending choices.
I'm giving up pop at the grocery store this week "ad infinitum." The only carbonated drink I will drink will be carbonated water. And I never drink that anyway. emoticon Tea is my preference its calming and I also like Mulling Spices.

It is grocery week. We've been so focused on the right foods this week that we haven't wasted an ounce of the produce from our last trip to the store. I won't need to fill the trash bin before I fill the fridge drawer. If none of the fresh fruits look good at this time of year, buy the unsweetened frozen versions and throw them in your cereal or make smoothies.

You are exactly right! My kids love fruits and veggies. We have very few "junk foods" in the house. Pop just doesn't come through the door any longer. It's awful for the body anyway. And definitely not something kids need. I also try not to use the word "diet" around my girls. Instead I am stressing that we're "being healthy." I don't want them to think it's about being skinny or being a size 2. It's about being good to our bodies and making the right choices.

Is it grocery shopping week?? Do NOT go down the pop/chip aisle!! Just DON'T go down it!! Spend 50 % of your time in produce. I know fruits & vegetables SEEM expensive, but how much money do you spend a week at McD's? on soda? on chips?
Seriously get out your calculator!! You can afford fruit & vegetables, if you make it a priority!! Even(ESPECIALLY) if you have kids!!
Our kids eat what is in our cupboards! If they won't eat what is in there then it is probably that much more important to GET THAT JUNK OUT!!! I guarantee they will NOT starve! They might skip a meal or two. My son (who never tasted soda until he was over 2) went right back to drinking juice like it JUST always was!
I know if I keep snacks in their for them,I better be able to snack on them too! Why would you want your kids to eat something that YOU aren't allowed to eat anyway??? Do we want to set them up for a lifetime of guilt, diets or obesity???!!!
We took a vow as parents to do better than our parents...This is a great place to START!!!
