I made it to just over 12k yesterday. I was very happy. I took the dog for a walk last night to get that though. So that won't be happening often coming up because of the cold weather headed our way.

Yesterday I barely made the 10K. I am trying to get it up to 10,500. Not much more but a start towards 12K daily. Come spring and better weather I will be able to do it but I am really working towards the long term goal of the 12K.

I don't have a treadmill but wish I did because I know I would use it almost daily. ( I know better than to say daily because there are days when I know I wouldn't.)

I do have a Wii and work with that but it does not get the steps in as much as I would like but it is something.

I'm getting use to the treadmill, but I still prefer to be outside. I got my 10,000 in again yesterday. That's all I'm going for this week. I've been off for a month and I need to get back into a routine. The temps are suppose to only get up to the single digits next week so I will be loving my treadmill then.

I am getting in the 10K steps with all the snow shoveling I have been doing. But I have been trying to go for 10,500 steps and that is not going so good. Maybe when the snow is out of here I will do better as I will be able to get outdoors and walk. Much more enjoyable than trying to get them walking around the house or marching.

I finally got in 10,000 steps yesterday. I was so happy. How about you FVHORVATH? I'm trying for 10,000 again today. It gave me a boost to reach that number again.

Congrats. on the weight loss. That is really awesone. I've been up and down, but have been pretty consistant since this past summer. Except for the holiday's. I sort of blew it. I got sick and it really thru me off. But I'm hopefully getting back on track. I need my walks. They just make me feel so much better physically and mentally.

I'm still here too! I took a long break a while back, but I've been on here pretty consistently since last spring. Not posting on message boards or anything, but logging fitness. I get a lot of satisfaction noting my cardio and watching my progress. In fact, I've been able to reset my goal to 170 since I FINALLY got down to 180. I have no idea how long it'll take me, but one happy thing I've found, and I bet the rest of you have too, is once you get into working out consistently your metabolism REALLY starts to help so if you have a bad eating day, week, month, whatever, you can rebound pretty quickly. We can do it!!!!

Welcome Back!

I know how challenging an illness can be. I dropped out for a while too! It ws due to DH being in the hospital and finding out he had ESRD (kindey failure) it came on like a heart attack and it was not until they did teast at the hospital that we found this out. Learning how to cook all over again to help his health put me out for a while as so many thing we should eat (lots of the veggies and fruits) were out and I had a hard time trying to fix things that he wanted and liked just for me and tell him he could nat have any. But he is used to his "diet" now and might sneak a taste or two but that is it. Good luck and if you need anything we are here to help you !

Hi everyone, I am back, started writing everything down today? My hubby did have a heart attack the end of August and it has been hard, he is on a low sodium diet and making the food taste good was a real challenge until I realized he wasn't getting enough of sodium and I could up it a little.
I gained my 20 lbs. back that I lost with Spark People and I am aiming to lose 50 by June 28th. Together we can do this, thank you for still being here!!! emoticon emoticon

Stay on track and don't give up. When you are hungry, remember why you are doing this. WRITE ALL MEALS DOWN EVERY MEAL, EVERY DAY!!

That walking choice I made the other day was the wrong choice. Although it was a great walk and I felt wonderful, whatever illness I've had came back the evening hard. I spent my holiday feeling miserable and still I don't feel back to normal. We're suppose to have more of that weather the next few days and I'm going to attempt to get out and walk again. Hopefully it won't hurt me this time. Fingers crossed.

I wish I felt safe enough to walk this morning! But we had freezing drizzle yeasterday, last night and still this morning! Roads and walks are slick! I am even going into work later so that the crazies are off the road and the salt/sand trucks have been out.

I'm feeling so much better today. It's 32 outside so I'm planning an outside walk today. I have some shopping to do and I do have to bake cookies. They won't be baked until I get in a good walk though. I tend to make healthier choices after I've exercised. It looks like the snow is done for awhile. Maybe a little bit for Christmas.

I was doing so well and I just let old man winter get the best of me. I need to get back to focusing on my walking and eating right. No excuses. I have my days free right now. My goal for next year is to continue to increase my steps everyday.

Last year I was going for just amking sure I had my 10K steps per day. I stilldo that but I want to add more of a constant cardio. Either walking or biking daily. No jogging as "ole arther" won't allow me to do that without suffering. So that is my goal for this next year.

We have all been trying and sticking with this program and life style change and it will pay off for each one of us. We have stuck through all the ups and downs and even if we left for a time we are back because we know this works. I know I want to be here as each one of us goes to the maintainace stage to celebrate.

I have stuck with through ups and downs. Last year I had breast cancer treatment and gained back 20 pounds. This year I took it off that 20 and keep working on getting under 200 soon.

I am still here! This is such a great site that I want to be here. Although there was a time that I drop out and that was a big mistake but at the time I could not keep up with things. DH was taken to the hospital with what we thought was a heart attack but in reality was kidney failure. That was a life changing moment. There were so many things we liked and were good for us ( lots of the veggies!) that I could not figure how to be nice and eat them in front of him when I knew he like these foods as much as I did. But it took me a little ove r a year to get his diet balanced and where I did not feel guilty and were he would leave them alone or just have a "taste".

This time has been a much slower weight loss so the 5% Winter has been a real good thing for me to really get the excitment back that I felt when we all started this journey. Thanks KALISWALKER for the invite!

In the time I was away I gained back all the 50 lbs I had lost but I am determined to get them back off plus more!
