I am still as active as I can be. Due to health issues I am not able to physically exercise, not even a mild walk. One of my health issues is a sleep disorder with a circadian rhythm shift (it controls your sleep-wake cycle) & thus I have severe sleep deprivation. To add to the sleeping difficulty is that I was in alot of pain which none of my doctors would prescribe enough pain medication for fear I would get addicted. Having been an Registered Nurse & certified in Post Anesthesia Recovery Room for over 31 years made it all the more frustrating for me. I finally said to my docs that as a RN in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit where one of my primary responsibilities was to judge the amount of medicine my patients required to get them comfortable I felt I was more than competent to judge the amount of medicine I required to get myself comfortable. If I got addicted I didn't care. I needed something to get me over the hump of not sleeping or I would be sleep deprived for the rest of my life. I finally got enough medicine. My sleep has no routine, but atleast I am sleeping. Sleep Deprivation does many negative things to one's body that I never imagined. One thing it does is it effects your metabolism of carbohydrates. Between that & not much activity put 50 pounds on in 4 months in the fall of 2007. I had gained 85 pounds when I was in my 40's & lost 75 pounds of it & vowed that would never happen to me again. Never say never because most things we don't have control of. Before I bore you all completely to sleep, I am as active as I can be & maybe in a month or so I can start a little walking. Glad I prefer the cold weather. So I have no fitness minutes, yet. Wishfully some day I will. I thank-you all for reading & wish you all a Happy Turkey Day. Sincerely - Marge

I am still here. The year has been a busy one and I am finally cleared for exercising after a surgery in 9/07 and another in 4/08.....For my 50th birthday two weeks ago, dh and I joined a gym! I now hope that I'll be able to lose the last bit of weight I am wanting to drop. I knew I needed to exercise, but needed to wait for the OK before pressing ahead.

I'm still around!! I lost 43 pounds, and then I flaked out for about two months, gained 9, but am back to losing!

Zap, try cycling your calories, you may be eating too little, go up by 100 or 200 calories and see if you notice anything, also, if you do the same workouts all the time, try something new for a week and see if that helps. I'm constantly having to change things around to get my weight loss going again.

Hello All. I too am still active. However, it is hard to find time to actually participate in the team stuff. The little extra time I do have goes to trying to fit in some extra exercise. Also keeping somewhat track of the food I've eaten. I have hit a bit of a rut where I feel like I am exercising more than ever, but I have not been loosing the weight for a few weeks now.

I'm almost exactly where you're at! Just went to the Dr today though and started a weight loss program with him. I got a Vitamin B-12 shot today and starting phentermine tomorrow. I've been at around 160 now for 7 weeks & I need to bust through this plateau! Hoping this works!

I am still here. I am stuck at about 18 pounds loss! i have lost 1 pound the last 6 weeks, but last week gained one. I am 2 pounds away from hitting the 20 pound mark and I just cant get it down there any lower! For the last 3 months I have been fighting to get below 160 and it just isnt working! It's frustrating!

Yikes! In October I was in Denmark, eating what was served and walking everyday at least 1.5 hours and often much more. I just got home and have to weigh in. Regardless of what the scale reads, I know I haven't lost momentum. I am happy to see you are active too. We can do it!

Hi everyone, I'm still here, like to thing i'm back on track. writing everything in my food journal starting today. The holidays are approaching fast and I need to be down 10 pds.

Stay on track and don't give up. When you are hungry, remember why you are doing this. WRITE ALL MEALS DOWN EVERY MEAL, EVERY DAY!!

I am still here as well. I tell you what, this year has been a year from H -E - double toothpicks as far as health goes. Turning 40 has not been kind to me. It seems as soon as I recover from one thing, something else prevents me from exercise. In Jan. I had Vertigo, finally felt better & got back on track in June. July, I had my gallbladder out, & wasn't really paying to much attention to what I ate, i just needed to get better. Got back on SP in Aug worked really hard & then get hurt at work in Oct, knee injury. I also had injections in my neck for bulging discs. But I keep pushing through & watching what I eat. I really wanted to loose 25 lbs before I go to Italy, tomorrow is weigh in & I think I am going to be very close. I leave in less than 2 wks so I should make it no problem. But I am not able to exercise so I know I am loosing a lot of muscle that I don't have. I am on limited weight bearing on my leg & limited lifting because of my neck. Any suggestions as to what to do for exercise?

Whoa...I should have lost my 10- 20 pounds easily by now, but I was set back by a neck injury, but now, NO EXCUSES. I will try to reach my goal by Christmas. Let's all stop and think about everything going into our bodies. Happy Nov.

I am still here! I have been consistent with my fitness goals but have had a slow go with my nutrition as I have had too much sweets lately. I know that I can do better and I am trying there is just temptation everywhere this time of year.

One thing that I have tried to do is eat more fiber and some days I have a Fiber One Bar, which I have really enjoyed and I know that it helps curtail my cravings somewhat. I also have a diet green tea and my water consumptions which I know keeps me going and still on some kind of healthy program.

I may be at a plateau but at least I am not gaining, I am maintaining which is great for me, I will really work hard especially after the holidays, but I am still going to enjoy life and have a great time!

You decide today whether you will have a good day or a bad day!
