I met my goal of losing 13 pounds, then I went on and lost a few more. The biggest change has been in my fitness level. I started running again and now I run 3 times a week for 35 to 45 minutes. I walk or garden on other days. I am embarrassed to admit that my strength training has totally fallen by the wayside and that is not a good thing--my arm muscles are so puny and my "core" is weak. I need to jump start my strength training. All the tools are on this site, but I'm not using them. I'm hoping this confession will make me get on the right track.

I have lost 44 lbs in 22 weeks which is amazing to me! It has not been a consistent 2 lb loss per week, some weeks more, a couple weeks I gained. But all in all in the land of averages I am right where I want to be.

I have never done this well before and I really appreciate SP and all the teams and tools here that are helping me along.

It is really exciting to read about everyone's success. Great Job!!!

My weight loss (according to the scale) has definately slowed down but I feel great. My clothes are fitting from two years ago, it's like having a new wardrobe.

I too can not believe that it has been almost 5 months. I have been maintaining my weight loss of 20 but I am really tired of this plateau and can't seem to get through it. I find my self wondering off my calories now since it seem to be an eternity at this plateau. Still working out with cardio and strength training. I switch the strength training routines as not to get in a rut. I am doing kickboxing 2 times a week as well as everything else. I just have not broke that plateau though. With all of this I am really glad that I found "SP", it helps to get through the days.

I have really gotten a lot out of the Sparks experience. The challenges from the teams motivate me. I started out at 195 last Oct. When I joined Sparks I was at 173 and was at a plateau for quite a while, but now I have been going down which feels great. Have had to get some different clothes since the others are so baggy on me now.

Start a Small Streak!

If you try to make MANY major changes at the same time, you are destined to lose your motivation. Start small and stick with it - then make another small change.

The key is to take each day as it comes. You can get through one day at a time. Even if you venture a little off your program, keep looking at Spark People. This community is incredible. Everyone is doing so well! I'm impressed. My results are a little disappointing to me. But, I have to keep in mind that I am still breastfeeding. I'm almost back to my prepregancy weight (just 3 pounds away!) and the baby is now 7 months. I'm not supposed to be so concerned about losing weight (yeah, right). So, like I said to the PP, I just try to take it one day at a time. Best wishes to everyone! Stick with it!

You all are doing so great! I wish I would have really taken advantage of SP back in January when I began, but I really only started about 3 weeks ago. This 3rd week seems to be a real killer. I think I'm losing my motivation. I was so going strong for a little while there. I guess I just need to get back on track and do the right things. I know what needs to be done, I just need to get my butt in gear.

Today is a new day....I will get back with it.

I can not believe it has been almost 5 months. If I had thought about all the weight I wanted to lose I NEVER considered I would stick with it this long. Now my hubby is asking why he didnt start when I did. And yes all scales are evil! I try to deal with them once every week or 2!

It's great to hear that you guys aren't that concerned with the scale. It took me quite a while to learn that one. Honestly, I'll take inches over pounds ANY day! Who cares what the scale says? Scales are possesed.

I can hardly believe that it has been 5 months! I am totally addicted to tracking my food and it is such an easy way of losing those extra pounds. It keeps me honest! I am also doing exercises that I haven't done for 20 years!
I also am not concerned with the scale but love the clothes that fit and the comments that people give me.
Not planning on leaving SP any time soon.

I too love that I have lost but more importantly love that I fit into clothes and sizes that I haven't for years! I am so glad that I found SP.

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering how everyone is doing? Are you getting excited about it being our 5 months on here?

I have come to hate the scale, but love how big my clothes are getting on me and I see a big difference in the mirror. I now know the saying "muscle weighs more then fat"... LOL
