Hi BUTTERFLYINAZ and SYL_77. I got a few new clothes. I wanted to hold off till I lost more weight but while I was on vacation I discovered some things were too big. My biggest splurge was new bras, I can now buy my bras at a regular store. YAY!!!

About the cup size, remember the girls are mostly composed of fat.

Ok. The bra thing is really funny.... I had to buy a couple of new bras and found that I was no longer a "D", instead I had to by "B". I have to say I was a little devastated by that decrease in size. emoticon

And yes, they came from Walmart!!

Actually when I go clothes shopping for my goal I refuse to buy the same size of clothes that I was in. It has to be a size smaller or I am not buying it. Though last time my pants were two sizes based on how they jump two sizes they were a bit tight but I still bought them and wow now that they fit perfectly it is such a nice reward.

That's so funny, that's totally one of my planned rewards!! I've been buying my bras from costco, and I dont even think they're the right size! When I get down to a size 12 pant I want to go for a fitting and a few nice bras. I haven't worn one that I could stand for more than 6 or 7 hours since high school!

My monthly reward is to try on clothes on the last payday of the month. If I'm honestly a size smaller I can spend $50. No squeezing!

once I start fiting into all the clothes I just couldn't let go of I'll think of something else!

If there were no rain, there could be no rainbows!

I'd like to be thin... but I like food better!

Okay, Y'all - don't laugh! I went to the mall yesterday for the first time since Christmas, and I found my reward for 20 pounds gone! It was a too-expensive, really comfortable nice bra!! I usually buy mine at Walmart or Ross, and settle for whatever is available and least uncomfortable. But I shelled out for a good one! I was talking to the clerk as she rung me up, and I said I had never spent that much on a bra ($55), and she said - "There are two things you should never skimp on - your breasts and your feet!" She had a good point, I never hesitate to spend a lot of money on comfortable shoes!
Just had to share --

Haha, that's okay--I was actually a little worried--I hope I didn't offend you by asking, I was just curious. You had me at "substitute school secretary"--I'm substitute teaching right now, so I completely understand being in THAT boat! I'm trying to work out a trip to Paris in January, but on the substitute's paycheck...it's not easy!

I hope you find someone to go with you when you're ready! If you don't, though, my grandmother decided at 73 that she was going to go to Italy with or without someone she knew (or It-ly as she calls it), so she booked a trip, hopped on a plane, and went. She wound up in some tourist group with a bunch of strangers from all over the US/Europe, and half of them spoke limited English, but she made friends with all of them and still emails some of them four years later.

I have a "when I'm 40" dream trip, too--Antarctica (because it will take me the next 18 years to pay for it!). Let's just hope that with the melting ice caps and whatnot there's still an Antarctica in 18 years.

Lindsey...
Waiting until I'm 40 is for many reasons. I am a substitute school secretary right now, so cash is really tight. Some months I work a day or two, some months, it's more like two weeks or more. And... there's only a few weeks left of earning potential this school year! So, a little over 6 years from now, I should have a job of my own, and a decent savings account accumulated just for the trip. Also, my kids will be old enough that I will not feel like a horrible mom leaving them for a couple of weeks for a "ME" centered trip. And, last, but maybe most importantly... hopefully by then I will have found someone to go with me that will have some of the same interests. Someone that will happily go along with what I want to do, because it's what they want too! The hub is a bore when it comes to anything other than hunting and camping. My mom is kind of a prude, so wine-tasting would be out. Both of them also have no idea why I have this dream. That in and of itself is reason not to take them. I really don't have anyone yet that would share my interests. I'm lookin, tho. Wow, ask a simple question, get an auto-bio in response! Sorry!

I reward myself with pedicures and manicures also. I also purchased new walking shoes as my last pair was very old and were falling apart.
10 more pounds and my next reward will be a new bathing suit.

If I ever lose my 11 pounds to goal weight, I will buy a good guitar for starters HA. I certainly don't need clothes since that is why I want to lose the wt. to stay in the nice clothes that I already own. You know, our SP Class of Jan. 20-26th sure is a great group. Thanks everyone!

You know, this is hard for me. I am very good to myself most of the time!! So having a special reward is a puzzler. I save all the change I end up with, so maybe I'll go turn it in and use it to do something fun with. Or one of my favorite things to do that never seems to happen anymore is to go to a matinee movie by myself and feel like I'm playing hooky! (I'll have to sneak my own snacks in, though!)

I don't want to buy clothes, because I'm hoping to pass through these sizes....but shoes and accessories are always a good fit!

For money I actually use my birthday and Christmas money for my rewards. So when I get money for those I put it into my savings account until I really want something or as a reward for losing weight.

I love the idea of language cds! I'm a language junkie--thinking about going back for a second Bachelor's degree in French (I'm conversationally fluent, but slowly losing it the longer I go without using it), and I'm slowly picking up Russian. I'm teaching myself from a book, but I've been thinking about buying the accompanying CD to help with pronunciation--that may be something I can do for my 150 mark (which will likely be in the next few days)--AND something I can take with me on the plane to Alaska.

(STEFIPOP, question: is there a reason you're waiting until 40 to go to Italy? Why not 35 or 36? My grandmother went a few years ago [her father emigrated from Italy] and loved it!)

Here's something I've been thinking about: as a substitute teacher paying back student loans, money is not abundant for me, so I have to space out my buying-stuff-for rewards, but I'm thinking I might start setting aside $5 for every pound lost and maybe $1 for every inch lost, and with every 10-pound loss, taking the money to use for new clothes or whatever. I desperately need a haircut, so that might be next up.

My half way point reward will be Italian language cds. I have a dream of going to Italy when I am 40, and I think that will be a perfect reward with a purpose. When I get under 200, I plan to buy myself a t-shirt or two from twilight teez . com. I want one that says Edward Fan Club and one that says Jacob Fan Club. I have always liked playing both sides of the fence! LOL (You have to have read the Twilight series to understand, sorry!) Of course, when I hit my goal, I plan on buying a whole new wardrobe, but that will be as much a necessity as a reward, right?

Hi, I reward myself with something that I really want. At 10 lbs. loss I got a new light fixture for the kitchen and at 20 lbs. I bought the companion piece for my breakfast nook. Now I would probably have bought them anyways but I promised myself I would not until I reached those milestones. I will have a spa weekend with some friends at the next ten lb. goal so need to get there by the end of May.

Food does not work for me as I would totally tend to go overboard.

I treated myself to a mani/pedi, new hair-do, highlights (for the first time in my life), and a new wardrobe. I also rewarded myself by purging all of my "big-girl" clothes that no longer fit due to the weight loss. Boy does it feel good! I went to Vegas with my hubby which we had planned anyway, but none of the above (including the pounds/inches lost) would have happened without motivation of the trip. Good luck to all with your goals!

I reward myself for every 7 pound lost (look on my Sparkpage and it tells you what I am getting)

Rewards you can pick are:
Manicure
Pedicure
New Shoes
New outfit
Something you have been wanting

I used to reward myself with food but in the end it always backfired on me since I would never just stop at that one treat or one day. Now I just try and work in the foods and drinks I want in the day and I don't binge as often.

i try to get something workout related. a new pair of sneakers, a workout accessory like tae bo bands, when i get down to 120, i want to reward myself with a heart rate monitor which is a biggy.

it could be anything! like, buying yourself your favorite flowers. everytime you look at them, you can remember how hard you worked & how great it feels to be where you are now. you could have some friends over for snacks (spark friendly!) & a game/movie. think of it as your little celebration.

"be as you wish to seem."

I'm guessing most of us this week have the lifestyle strategy regarding rewarding ourselves for our hard work (or else everyone else has been here already and I'm behind). I was wondering how y'all have been rewarding yourself. I remember when I first started here at SP, I was thinking "Ooh, when I lose [x] pounds, I'm going to just eat whatever I want for one day and reward myself". I sort of did that on Valentine's Day and had Ramen noodles (I know, such gourmet splendor), but...it wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be. I think that's been a major thing for me, to change from the automatic inclination to use food (and overindulgence) as a reward system, and it's something I'm still working on.

So I was just wondering--what ways have you found to reward yourself for all your hard work? My "big" reward is my trip to Alaska next month--but that was going to happen no matter what I weighed, so I think the real reward will be looking and feeling better and enjoying the trip more. I...might have also spent yesterday buying clothes for my trip, so I guess that counts, too. I'm having a harder time figuring out smaller things to do, so I thought I'd turn to my fabulous team for suggestions and inspiration.

So...how are you celebrating the results of your hard work over the past few months?
