I find it kind of funny that we are all feeling the same things (sorta)!
Like many, when I got the email, I panicked. Then I sat down and read. Just like I did when moving to Stage 2!
I have also reread different things until I feel I have a true understanding.
I have chosen to move to Stage 3, but this whole losing weight is a very personal and individual thing. You have to do what you are comfortable doing, that will make it easier to succeed!

It doesn't have to be done perfect, it just has to be done.

I agree that I don't always do the best at recording my end of the day meals since I'm home and not always on the computer like I am at work. I usually try and log it in the next morning but don't always have time. I have been happy this week with doing the gym 4 times (that's a first for me in a long time) and also doing better with my eating, I'm hoping for a good number tomorrow on the scale! I think I'll do another week at stage 2 and then move on to stage 3!

I need to review the stages in general - I think i've been doing the best I can but reviewing 1 & 2 might well benefit me - I think I'm doing well just recording my weight/ fitness and most of my nutrition every day - that would be an interesting challenge - record nutrition everyday - everything before wt and fitness - Certainly at this point fitness is my strong pt. Wt. is going down overall but not as rapidly as I'd like and recording end of the day foods/wine is still a bit sketchy!

Stage 2 went by super fast, didn't it? I decided to move to Stage 3 to keep the momentum going. It's a bit scary, but I think I'll be able to handle it. If I screw it up, at least I can always go back.

I find it so weird that we are all in the same boat about moving to stage 3. I seem to get rid of 1 to 3 pounds and then at a stand still for a few weeks.
I'm thinking it might not be a bad idea to start over with stage 1. I need to get a jump start again...

I'm so glad I'm not alone on this idea, your support has been great!! I think I'll stay at stage 2 for another week or so and then move on to stage 3! I just feel that 2 went very fast and I didn't see as much progress there as I did in stage 1! I am hoping this works!!
You guys are great! emoticon

I was scared to move out of the safety of Stage 1 into the unknown on Stage 2. After I re-read all of Stage 1, I made the leap of faith into Stage 2 on the day it said I should. I have never regretted it. Now I had that same panicked feeling when I read the email this morning to move to Stage 3. My first thought was, WOW, that came fast, and then it was the OMG, am I ready?

I'm looking at it this way. I've spent the past 45 years screwing up "dieting" on my own. This is the first time I've been this successful and committed to a program ever. SP has been hugely successful for me thus far, so I'm trusting them that they know what's best for me (if I knew, I wouldn't be in the shape I am now) and I'm taking their nudge and moving up. Scary, yes. But so was Stage 2. I can do this - we can all do this, heck, we're still here aren't we? That should be proof enough that it's working and they know better than us when to move.

Good luck everyone - make the choice that is right for you and you'll be fine. Just don't stress too long over it, you can always go back.

I too am going to hold off on moving onto Stage 3. I did great at the start of Stage 2, but this past week and a half I am in a rut. One thing I want to get down before I move on is making sure I get my protein up to wear it should be, and another thing I want to try: the batch cooking.
Maybe next week I will be ready....

I am not sure if I am ready for Stage 3 but I do know the principles of stage 1 and 2 and am applying them. I think if I repeated stage 2 I might give up so I am moving forward to keep the momentum going.

I'm also a little hesitant going into stage 3. I've had alot of trouble with stage 2 and am really thinking of going back to stage 1. I've been good about staying in my calorie range and working out. I've only gone over on my calorie range maybe 2 times since I've started sparkpeople but I'm not losing weight I have ended up gaining what I have lost back and I think that is from when I had the flu and not eating properly because I was sick and not eating because I felt so bad. Hopefully this week I will notice a change in my weight.

I don't feel I'm ready to for stage 3 yet.
I'm going to spend tomorrow going through all of stage 2 and if I feel I'm read, I will move up. But stage 2 seemed to go faster then stage 1 for me..

I looked back at all the stage two strategies, and made sure I learned them, then I knew I could go on.

I'm staying with 2 for awhile longer. I still find myself going over in calories here and there. I want to have it all down before I move on. If you are not ready, wait. That's one of the best things about spark, you can move at your own pace.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do! emoticon

I went ahead and moved on to stage 3. My friend and I were just discussing our stages a few minutes ago. I pretty much had the rules of 1 & 2 down already from years of repeating WW so I'm ready to learn how to maintain this weight loss once and for all! Take your time. If you're stressing about moving on then wait! Once you move back to a stage you have to repeat the entire thing. Do what is right for you. Good luck to all and good work up to this point!

TO TATKINSN, I didn't do well in Stage 2 at all. I went up & down. I was so happy to have a new beginning and start a new stage. In stage 3 there is more talk about motivation and that is what I need right now. Glad to move on.

The first thing I read when I got the email for stage 3 was how I was going to learn how to maintain this healthy eating style. Well I'm not ready to maintain anything. I'm still learning and still needing to lose so when it asked me to click on the 3rd stage or stay in stage 2 I stayed in stage 2.

its really up to you but dont stress too much about it. You can go back if you feel you are in too deep. There's been a couple of time where i've left spark for a few weeks for whatever the reason and when i've returned i've gone back to the stage I feel i'm comfortable about. So even if you go on to 3 and feel like its too much you can always go back to 2!

I would read a bit more about Stage 3 and if I was not comfortable with moving I would hold off for another week or so. I was that way going into Stage 2, I held off and read more aboutit and then dicided to give it a shot. Maybe it was just the surprise of getting the e-mail and when you take the time and think about it you will move to the next stage. I had hope for more weight lose at this stage but then again it's a way of life we are changing and that is sometimes scarry. You can always go back and look at the different stages and see how you have progressed!

Help! I got the email this morning welcoming me to stage 3, how do I know if I am ready to make this move?? I don't feel I have done the best with eating and losing over the last 2 to 3 weeks so would it be best to make the move or wait and then go to stage 3??? I read through the overview and it doesn't seem to be too much different than stage 2, just more consistency, I didn't know what to put at the end when it asked if I was ready or not, how do you know???
Thanks,
Trisha
