We didn't do the $5 per pound at the beginning, either...mainly because I didn't realize I was losing weight at that time. But I informed hubby the other day he has $350 to come up with to cover what have lost so far. hehe

I like the $5 reward idea. The best reward for me is to get all dressed up and go out to dinner with my husband at my favorite restaurant. We do this at the smaller goals. For the larger goals, we take a weekend and just get away.

If its to be, it is up to ME!

sounds good... i actually really love the idea of putting aside $5 per pound lost towards new clothes... i wish i had done that when i started losing weight... i'm wearing some jeans i bought a while a go that i love... but they are annoyingly large on me now... which is great, but i'd love to have my little piggy bank to break when i hit my final goal... although, knowing me... it'll be murphy's law... as soon as i hit my final goal, i'll get pregnant and be shopping for maternity wear instead ;).

Do you have a reward system in place? How does it work? What kind of rewards do you give yourself?

I just noticed the "goodies" on SP. I have already thought about putting back $5 for every pound I lose, to spend on new clothes when I reach my goal weight. But that still seems like such a long way off. I haven't come up with anything as far as rewarding myself for 5 pound losses, or smaller goals like that. But I have thought about maybe using the goodies as a reward system. This is what I was thinking...

Right now I have 7 daily goals that I track. If I miss no more than one day for a goal, then the next week I upgrade it. Otherwise I haven't become proficient in that enough, and I continue it the following week. So far, I've not been doing very well at all on them. If I gave myself 1 point for each goal I can check off as done then that would be 7 points per day, or 49 points per week. At the end of the week, when I reevaluate my goals, I could allow myself to use those points (the points I gave myself for reaching my daily goals, not the points SP gives for reading emails, posting, etc) for the goodies. The larger items, I would have to "save up" for, which would add motivation.

What do you think?
